OOC: Hello! Allow me to reintroduce you to the United Federation of Zitravgrad -- less commie, more moderate, but as fun as ever! (I hope.)

Although the canon has been and is going to see a lot of changes, most answers here are still pretty legit, except for the far-left bullshittery I got tired of. Most characters also keep their names and general appearance/personality but their biography and political views are changed in accordance to the new canon. Our nation also got expanded from mini wasteland of 14 million people to a sizeable land of 107 million people.

Added to the nation's political atmosphere is this position known as "Grand Prince of Zitravia" who serves as a ceremonious, cultural and religious leaders of the nation, regardless of the nation's status as a republic. Moreover, the nation's economy is shifted towards state capitalism and mixed market economy.

This Q&A is back on and still welcomes all sorts of questions, both IC and OOC. I promise I won't be disappearing again lmao. :p

"Bless you, my good sir. I pass to you and your respectable nation a greeting and my sincere pleasure of meeting your delegate today... ?"

"I don't see any delegate but fine..."

"As of our opinion on your nation, I will try to make it as clear as possible, but not without sharing an insight of how we perceive your nation. First of all, I must commend your nation for being able to maintain a peaceful atmosphere of coexistence between your population, who appear to be very... exotic... and diverse. Moreover, I must also express my very own... approval for your pacifist stance, even if most of my ladies and gentlemen in the Verkhovna Rada have stated otherwise. I am looking forward to knowing more about your polite and civilized people."

"And this is all... short and clear. I hope this answer of mine will suffice in satisfying your curiosity... and hopefully, we will again. Farewell. I pass you my blessings."

"I still don't know who I am referring to but fine."

Greetings, Government of Zitravgrad, or whom it may concern,

This congratulatory letter is addressed to the repentant and remorseful populace and governing body of Zitravgrad, who through the triumphant force of Christ the King, have turned away from their previously hedonistic and atheist society for the glory of the Orthodox Church. We praise the new Orthodox Zitravgrad that has formed in the wake of the new Federation and it's rightful, Holy place under God.

Unfortunetly, the Orthodox Churches, though commendable, are simply substandard in piety and sanctity then that of the Holy Catholic Church and it's sisters, namely the venerated Church of Montréal. Nevertheless, we standfast in applause with the improvements the Zitravgradian people have made, and remain ready for the day the Zitravgradian people embrace the traditions of the Catholic clergy.

If it concerns the Kremlin and people of Zitravgrad, the Holy territories of Le Nouveau État Québécois would be more then interested in continuing to foster relations in this new age of Christianity.

Prayerfully yours in Christ,
~ Premier of New Québec, Reverend Cédric Lésage.

"Hmmm... Plug this wire into this thingy... done... Yo dudes! Hear me well? Cuz I am gonna tell ya' the story, an epic and awesome one! You may not remember this, cuz it's been a long time, and I don't remember all things too! I still have a souvenir and many selfies. Now, snowflake radioactive dudes, here it is: As a man-at-arms, who is a part-time soldier with combat experience, I trained with your arctic commandos and scavengers. We ran through the snow and radioactive hellholes, crossed ice cold rivers, then we shot targets. I ran with them... wearing my bulletproof vest and ammo belt over a band shirt. I shot targets with a gun of my own customized M-4 assault rifle. Your guys looked strangely at my chest long hair. Maybe they were jealous? Did I get too cold? Nope. Just a lil' chill... Cuz we, Skyhookers are tough, especially when drunk.

I also been in our friendly mock battle between the best of our warriors and best of your militsia... It ended with a draw. I kicked one, I punched other... I was too drunk to care for tazers... it stung like a hornet though... but then, got distracted with a cold water from water cannon and got hit in a head with a baton... next thing I did, I counted those stars around my head, while I was dragged to... how do ya' call it? Avtozak! Those were the times! Intense, tough and crazy!

Our warriors posed as soccer hooligans, so you had technical advantage, but they were the most seasoned and battle hardened of us, and yet you managed to hold the line. You guys are totally awesome! I am sending you a six pack of beers just for hearing me out! And also have 20 gramms of cannabis! I am smoking it right now, and it feels great! Oh, and could you please remind me, what else did we do during our joint exercises? And what do your soldiers think of exercising with us? You can add "blyat" and "pizdets" in those sentences, cuz I want a fair opinion!"-Drunk man-at-arms.

"Salutations, and may the Blessings of God and the Eye of Saint Yeruslan the Wise be with you."

"My brother, I must begin this correspondence which a clarification, which I hope that shall not offend you. My people are far from repentant and remorseful, as they have never been hedonistic or fully atheistic. I cannot, and shall not, disrespect the individuality and philosophy of my people who have strived, whether in my name or not, for the future in their vision. Nonetheless, we are here today, not because all of my people have seen the lights of Heaven, but because those who do and those who do not have accepted that they must co-exist regardless of each other's visions."

"Concerning the Catholic Church, it does have a small presence in our nation, and its growth or decline shall be up to the people's opinions of it, not of the manipulation through the means of the state and the government. However, I, likewise, respect the Catholics as fellow followers of Christ, and find it a pleasant opportunity to build the bridge between your respectable nation and ours, both through the secular government and through spiritual connection."

"Blessings upon you, my good sir."

"Still, those experiences of which you have spoken still sound like something plausible... you know... something we might actually do in our time off work. I can ensure to you that our police are still the same serious bunch of people who had seen riots and a revolution -- and that is why I love them. Perhaps a new addition to the team might interest you, the new Gendarmerie who exists as an extension of the law enforcement. They are not yet mobilized but soon enough..."

"Oh, the conversation got derailed. But here... our soldiers remember something about our joint practices, and they seem to enjoy the drills so far despite their surprise at your lack of specific uniforms and more relaxed discipline. Still, we Slavic men are by default drawn to a good drink at the end of the day -- a trait we definitely share."

"Well, here we are again, we will go to Zitravgrad to feast! Since during few joint exercises, you were not excessively shocked with us, runnin' through your nuclear snows, dressed like... one would dress for a summer holiday or metal concert. No worries, cuz we are that hardy dudes, so quite few of us actually got any frostbites at all, the slight ones. Or perhaps our episodes of drinkin' like it's a feast and then goin' to shootin' range and somehow hittin' the targets real nice? One dude couldn't stand on his feet straight, but still somehow hit that damn target with a rifle. Right in the bullseye. He got lucky thoguh.

Or... that's acutally embarrasin', we tried to drive cruiser during naval drills, and drove it into the beach. Pretty damn far. I am really, really, really, really sorry about that. Or remember the case, when it turned out, that in aviation and artillery, we turned out... mediocre at best. You remember this screwup of our's better... I guess. If you were shocked, then how much?"-Man-at-arms John.

"Let's get to the point. Our warband had recently conducted a successful raid on an infamous rich human trafficking ring leader, whom we pinned down in his mansion. A hell of a fight that was, he had some tough security and even a few elite squads from different countries, but there were eventually defeated. What's next? We looted their corpses, then looted the mansion and dragged that bastard out of his hiding hole and I cut his head off with my bastard sword. Slaves were released and now, we have to find their families and homes, so they can safely return.

And now, we are goin' to celebrate this epic hunt in Zitravgrad. I have a few questions, just to know, what to expect.

Here are the questions.
1 - Will ya' buy the loot, we managed to plunder?
2 - We are goin' with all the warband of 54 men and women, what places should we definitely visit for the sake of feastin' and boastin'?
3 - Can we invite ya' to the feast?
4 - Among the slaves we found some 11 years old girl Masha, is she from your country?
5 - Among the loot, we found some data about human traffic operation in your country. Ya' might want to see it. And maybe put some of your officials involved into "kutuzka". Will there be any difficulties with that?

We hope, that you won't have problems with us. If ya' don't wanna have feastin' warriors in your place, we can go elsewhere."-Man-O-War Jace "Berusad vildsvin".

"We would like to congratulate you on such a feat, Mr. Vildsvin. The fewer of these criminals there are, the better we are better off. Of course... allow me to answer your questions in order. One, I apologize that we must refuse the offer to buy the loot and I do not personally know anyone who is interested in it. Two, you seem to be a large group of people... I really recommend that you see the countryside this autumn before it snows, or stalk the wasteland (with proper documents). Three, well... my 'brothers' and I might consider showing up to greet you ladies and gentlemen, with appropriate drinks, if you so insist. Why not? Four, we have not had any report of a missing child named Masha. But the Interpol has at least 11 records of Missing Masha... 6 of them in the Kozavian Empire. And... five, yes... thank you for the information. This will be reported to the ZKVD, and they will process the report and send some officials to oversee this matter. It will take a bit of time, but surely we will take care of that."

"Again, we are looking forward to seeing you here and hoping that you will enjoy your stay."

"The crew was all fine! So no need to worry! But the ship... well... got all banjaxed and screwed. Shipwrecked, like for all. Either way, thanks for your concern. Others would ask, where exactly did we wreck it, so they could loot it. Nah, just kiddin! Now, what are your concerns, dudes? Perhaps you should tell us, so we use psychology and make ya' less anxious. Cuz we love ya'."-Man-at-arms John.

"Awesome, dudes! You are really awesome! We'll sell the loot back in good ol' Skyhooked, and then come to you real soon. Didn't expect, that Premier himself would indulge in a feast with my warband! After all, this ain't no formal meeting, we are havin' fun and vacation. Still, thanks alot! Countryside sounds awesome, especially, since there they could drink and sing loudly all night without wakin' up the whole town, and that sensation of sleeping beneath the stars. After a week, we will move on to other country!

Also, how do you dudes, manage to stay so stoic? I've heared rumors about stoicism of your people, and it's pretty great, I'd say. Guess even a bunch of drunken warriors wouldn't disrupt the atmosphere.

And... Vildsvin isnot my surname, it's my nickname."-Man-O-War Jace.

"I wonder, what nicknames or slurs do your people use to refer to our country? And what stereotypes are common about us?"-Beach bartender.

"I would like to know more about your branch of christianity. Does Zitravgrad Orthodox faith differ from Orthodox faith of other countries, and if yes, then where? Perhaps you fastings are smaller, given harsher conditions of your country? Or maybe your traditions somehow affect icons drawing?"-Orthodox christian.

Just a curious OOC question: What historical figure (or figures if you can’t choose one :P) do you admire the most and why?

"Hello, comrades! The Pan-Asiatic States is interested in expanding its foreign direct investments in states it deems industrially competent. The Commission is interested in investing 20 million NSD to the development of Zitravgradian infrastructure, specifically in its manufacturing and retail sectors. We also hope that you could relieve tariffs on any Pan-Asiatic goods that are exported to your nation, if there are any. We will be hiring locally, and this could create thousands of jobs for local Zitravgradians!

Would you be interested in such an arrangement?"

Skyhooked wrote:"The crew was all fine!

"Well, we have what you gentlemen might normally refer to as common sense, but multiply that with a bit of overcaution. We Zitravians are some neurotic fol, I can tell you that much. Tough times create tough people..."

Skyhooked wrote:"Awesome, dudes!

"Well, my most trusted gentlemen and I have had a few... intoxicated ravings, as they are called in the wastelands. Still, we are pretty restricted about intoxication and raving -- it always ends up with us hungover playing durak. I am sure we are going to have an excellent time. If anything, thank you for the invitation."

"Our stoicism just comes with harsh weathers, strict parents, bad economy and maybe a few wars over... Nothing of great concern."

Mr. Kazimir Ivanovich Miroslavsky, Premier of Zitravgrad

Skyhooked wrote:"I wonder, what nicknames or slurs do your people use to refer to our country? And what stereotypes are common about us?"-Beach bartender.

"What else apart you all being real jolly folk, hmm? I am legitimately concerned that some old folk near the countryside will mistake your people for some sort of mutants. But here with my folk at Syvonik, we call you 'honorable gopniks', which I think is pretty funny. But we know the differences between our kids and your folk after a few beers -- the gopniks won't shoot straight."

Skyhooked wrote:"I would like to know more about your branch of christianity. Does Zitravgrad Orthodox faith differ from Orthodox faith of other countries, and if yes, then where? Perhaps you fastings are smaller, given harsher conditions of your country? Or maybe your traditions somehow affect icons drawing?"-Orthodox christian.

"Not much more different from Eastern Orthodoxy anywhere, I am afraid. But this is due to us being the closest to the original. Our fasting rules are usually similar to most countries that follow the same faith... any person doing more and less than others are due to their own personal needs. The only unique point from us is our incorporation of former pagan deities. You see... when we Zitravians were Christianized, it was hard to part with the old gods we used to worship, so these were then converted to local saints. Makes sense? No. Not really. But who am I to question the ancestors?"
Asst. Prof. Dr. Adam Yanovich Dresvyanin, Prime Minister of Zitravgrad

"Excellent day, Mr. Jiang. At the Kremlin, our administration is showing an incline to a great interest in this investment proposal. We are also regarding the question of tariffs in our latest conference. The conclusion arrives as followed:

We understand that the investments will bring about the opportunities to strengthen the ties between our nations, which we admit that they have fallen off somewhat, and the opportunities to create jobs for our citizens are not easy to come by. But we must also oversee that your nation's direct investments will not negatively affect the public or private business entities in Zitravgrad and that your business entities will observe and follow the rules, regulations, and laws concerning taxation, customs, workers' rights, and health and safety standards. Once we have arrived at this mutual agreement, we are willing to lift any tariff on Pan-Asiatic imports and expect that our goods are also exempted from tariffs in your nation."

Asst. Prof. Dr. Adam Yanovich Dresvyanin, Prime Minister of Zitravgrad

"With due respect, there is also an issue of visa and immigration that we would like to address. As of now, your citizens need to apply for 45-day or 90-day visa for each and every trip they make to Zitravgrad (except if they have applied for a re-entry permit). We would like to purpose a mutual agreement of 30-day visa-on-arrival to be available for your visitors coming to our nation and our visitors going to your nation. This will encourage our social and cultural exchanges through tourism and facilitate some short-term business meetings. We would like to hear back about this proposal whenever possible."
Mr. Kazimir Ivanovich Miroslavsky, Premier of Zitravgrad

OOC: Sowwy I put your question last but OOC questions are better answered the last! :p If you ask about a historical figure I reeeaaaally like, then here he is: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gerhard_von_Scharnhorst. You know, he was both a man of military and an intellectual -- intelligent, hard-working and practical kinda guy and quite innovative for his days. He was also a good teacher -- he was the mentor of Carl von Clausewitz, the author of On War himself.

Greetings,

I am Thomas Cawl, Porokis. I am intrigued by your nation, and may even visit. However, I have a question. Are there any Mercerists in Zitravgrad? The reason I ask, is that if I were to visit, I simply wish to know if there are others with whom I could worship, or if I should do so by myself in the confines of my hotel room.

Regards,
Thomas Cawl

"Salutations, my noble sir, and may I pass my sincere greetings to your Emperor. Your presence is definitely welcomed. However, I must also regard your question concerning the religious worship around your ruler. The survey might be flawed, or perhaps some people are not willing to disclose their religious faith. But as far as I am aware, there is little to no presence of Mercerists in our nation. Still, there should be no problem concerning your religious duties... except for one thing..."

"Our nation has a patron saint -- St. Yeruslan, who was in fact a pagan deity of forbidden knowledge, such and such. There is a cult worship surrounding him and its members can be either pagan or Orthodox, if not also nationalist. So as a national saint, he becomes a sensitive topic. There is no actual law against this but... I advise against insulting him. His underground temple is open for visitors within the Kremlin Walls, however."

Out-Of-Character Question
19 September 2019 CE

Hello,

I am currently in the process of redoing Kyria’s lore, history and general character; I’ve found that the Post-Post-Apocalypse scenario and current lore to be not exactly... enjoyable, and so I’ve turned to redoing it all. I want to get people’s opinions on the matter and the lore that has been drawn up already, so I’m going to be going around Q&As on NS.

Linked here is the welcome page for the new lore. This’ll be the main factbook, and will include links to other factbooks to give it the appearance of a website, similar to PAS’s introduction factbook. It currently has links to the overview and international relations factbooks.

Thank you.

Kind regards,

OOC: Sorry I didn't see it sooner. I have seen the factbooks and posts you made for this nation so far, and it has a fairly interesting premise. However, I am not much of an "alt-history" person myself, so I might not have much to offer in terms of ideas. Still, I wish you good luck in your worldbuilding.

"Perhaps the fact that you are not trying to drunkenly steal anyone's car or prompt a call to the nearest police yet. Maybe it is indeed your warrior culture and honour system that your people hold. Still, though. Our brother state of Dozdcheny might not think as highly of you as we do."

"Hmm? Perhaps it is more of the case that you are not used to the Arctic? Since Skyhooked is scorching hot and always sunny, the north could have given you the chills. Walking on thick snow is also a monumental task if your equipment is not ready. The commandos? They were waiting for maybe three hours and a half if I remember correctly."

"Now, now... Hello. It has been a while since anyone has taken me seriously, although I must also say that I am not exactly in the medical industry. As you might expect from us, our psychiatric hospitals are a hit or miss but it is neither our strongest or weakest branch. Our strongest medical branch is oncology -- mutations caused by nuclear radiation lead us to an intensive study on cancers and evolutionary biology and we have developed a few cures to certain types and stages of cancers even though they are far from miracle cures. But in the meantime, we have issues with gerontology. Our stereotype for elderly people is for them to still work and care for the family. We take longer to recognize a health issue in old people and frankly our life expectancy has never been so high that we ought to be concerned about the extremely old. It might sound depressing but it is what it is..."

"Our joint exercises are pretty interesting, especially, since there is lots of competitive aspect. I assume, that this is because we are allies with strongly different values and style. I mean, our squad of piss drunk and high warriors, wearin' their usual beach/metalhead outfit. Versus your squad of professional soldiers, who are extremely orderly and disciplined in a proper immacualte uniforms. Every time, it's chaos vs order. Improvization vs guidelines. Instinct vs drilling. Now, I wonder about several things.

First, we have trained together, I wonder, what feat of endurance or combat or whatever our dudes did impressed you the most?

Second, how about some sort of wargames, where our militaries compete and establish, which is best, our chaos, or your order! belive, that your arcitc commandos can perform well during our heatwave too."-Overboss Shawn Bjornson

"Oh, and I would like to ask Dr. Feodora, how does it feel to obtain first doctoral degree? Especially in something complicated, as applied mathematics. And especially in a meritocratic society. While I am pretty smart dude, I gotta admit, never got a college degree. Because when I turned 17 I took the warrior's path, joined the militia and participated in different military operations. And now, I have Skyhooked to tend to. Besides, if I went to college or university, foreign or not, many professors would just make it easier for me to pass.

I know, what you may say, but even if I cut off my long hair and do this incognito, subconsciously, they would regard me as someone of authority without realizing it. After all, we still have ancient instincts, which impact psychology on many levels. Civilization was created very recently in terms of human revolution, where thousands of years are like mere seconds. Thus, I will have an unfair advantage and hence, the purity of experiemnt would be unreliable.

And, if ya' recieved this, Feodora - remember, you have a spirit of a warrior. What? Scientific tasks and problems are a tough thing to fight. Most are harder to beat than even strongest and fastest foes, and there are many cases, when a scientist suffered deep mental scars in a struggle with finding a solution.

Oh, and if ya' wanna negotiate research agreemet, we are always open to that. Consider, that I approve."-Shawn Bjornson

"You are giving us too much credit. When it comes to any semblance of order and discipline, we are not all accurate and articulate to the level of Auestriker military yet. But yes, it takes a sense of order to unite different individuals into the pattern of military actions. To lead such a large organization truly needs some organizing, no?"
...
"But that would eventually lead to what impressed us -- the more we are committed to our plans, the slower we can interact to the unexpected; and the Skyhooked military comes with the unexpected. They speak warily of the Atlanzian army: "We do not know what they are doing, because they have no real strategies. They also don't know what they are doing, so they are safe from being read." I think this might apply to your men to any extent."
...
"Also, at the moment, I am not entirely sure about the possibility of a wargame. It's just that we are busy on certain operations -- border conflicts, peacekeeping missions, and alliances we are assisting. I will inform you when we have the opportunity."

"Well, I studied on the military research institute's support, which meant that I was basically pressured to succeed. Still, I had highly supportive professors, and among them the best advisor I could ever have (whom I had to lead around for years because he is deafblind). To be perfectly honest? I just needed a degree for future promotions in the Army and perhaps for public recognition -- I could do my jobs well with or without it anyway. It is unfair to think about it... that a woman in STEM is likely not going to be taken seriously until she has a doctorate and I also need the same thing to command any respect in the military with my apparent youth. I only did what was needed for my advancement and it was not that difficult. And even then, I do not think I had my deserved amount of respect and credibility until my husband became the Premier."
...
"If academia is not for you, do not force it. Even academia is not free from politics and discrimination. I had a hard beginning as a young preteen girl from a foreign country. And yes, had i enrolled now as a wife of the head of the state, they would let me pass easily. If there is no use in getting a degree, do not put an effort to it. Also, I am not sure if I fight my problems like that... but thank you for the compliment."
...
"First thing first in our research agreement, I would like to address the question of ethics, secrecy and, information access and exchange. There must be a reasonable amount of trust put into our agreement for it to work, and perhaps you have had a taste of our scientific community, how ethics are thrown out of the windows and how there being over 15 research stations classified as closed for the public. Be aware of our codes of conduct and make us aware of yours."
