What is the punishment for breaking into YL's residence?

Postby Themiclesia » Sat Nov 11, 2017 6:35 pm

In Themiclesia, it depends on how far you break into the Emperor's palace and whether you're armed or not.

1) into the inner court (Emperor's private quarters) and armed = 16 years in prison; if the Emperor is absent, 6 years
2) into the throne hall and armed = 16 years in prison; if the Emperor is absent, 6 years
3) into the inner court but not armed = 4 years in prison
4) into the throne hall but not armed = 3 years in prison
5) into the second layer of walls and armed = 3 years in prison
6) into the first layer of walls and armed = 2 years in prison
7) into the imperial citadel's walls = 1 year in prison

If no damage is done there's no official punishment, but the empress is allowed to dispatch of any unauthorized individuals within the palace complex.

If you can make it through the front door of the leaders residence, you must be exceptional. Thirty years community service with the OESW Office of Economic and Special Warfare to be assigned as needed. Also, a cot in the offices and your very own ten by ten cement room.

Under the current law, breaking into the Prime Minister's House is punishable by up to 15 years imprisonment, although no one has been sentenced to greater than 3 years for doing such an act.

If they could make it past the armed militarized police in the first place, breaking into the house of the Federal Premier would get you either life in prison or a 6-year military contract, depending on your usefulness.

Of and mean if anyone broke in they would be tortured until they told where their families lived then they would die while their families went to a prison camp.

Nearly impossible, considering the amount of military police, Governor's Protection Service, and Executive Guards there are as well as the multitude of weaponry they carry that patrol the Federal Chateau, not to mention the Governor himself taking matters into his own hands (especially when he's ex-special forces and has an entire arsenal at his disposal). But if you do,

Just breaking in: if no good reason, then 5 years in maximum security prison (and a following by our Intelligence Ministry once you get out).
Stealing anything relatively unimportant (money, non-government-related documents, etc.): 8 years in maximum security prison (and a following by our Intelligence Ministry once you get out).

Tampering with security equipment: 12 years in maximum security prison (and a following by our Intelligence Ministry once you get out).
Harming or attempting to harm a guard, a guest, or anyone inside: 15 years in maximum security prison (and a following by our Intelligence Ministry once you get out).
Stealing or recording classified documents or anything the government needs to keep quiet: Life imprisonment in maximum security prison.
Harming or attempting to harm a public official, the Lieutenant Governor, or the Governor: Life imprisonment in maximum security prison.

The years stack up, of course.
If good reason for any of the 2 offenses that aren't as serious (extremely rare), then prison for 2 years (and a following by our Intelligence Ministry once you get out) or a job offer by our Intelligence Ministry.
(Considering how great a lifestyle it is serving in the Intelligence Ministry, you know what most would choose).

There are few locks in Fatatatutti, so "breaking in" is a foreign concept. If you're caught in somebody else's house without an invitation, you could theoretically be sued but the owner would have to prove that he suffered damages. The socially proper response would be to invite you for supper.

Getting into President Fish's bowl would be a feat in itself.

Prime Minister Schuyler Marmish lives at the beach, so there isn't much to stop you from "breaking in".

General Marie-Louise Castro-Stalina is said to practically live in the cargo hold of a C-130 Hercules as she travels around the island visiting her troops. The Army loadmasters are pretty particular about exactly what is in their holds, so good luck trying to stow away.

Alphonse isn't supposed to go in the house himself because he breaks things. If you want to break in, you might try following him when he sneaks in.

Death. -and not because it's a capital crime to break into the Chancellery Palace.

It's death, because that is precisely what will happen when the Chancellery Guard or other armed guards in the building catch you.

Breaking into 10 Upping Street-under our last ruler it was 10 years in prison, but under our new ruler the guards would shoot the perp dead if they caught the criminal in the act. There is an exception-on Christmas Eve Father Christmas can break in to give presents.

It is, quite literally, impossible to break into the residence of the Great Uniter and Beast of the DGES, as it lies within the deepest layer of Hell and right above the Void.

And if you did, you won't be able to get out of there.

Breaking into the Executive Compound is the same as breaking into any other Federal Class 1 compound, complex, or office which includes but not limited to: the National Assembly Complex, Department of Defense Compound, Headquarters of The Thermodolian Secret Service, Judicial Complex, and the Headquarters of the Thermodolian National Investigation Directorate.

15 years is the minimum mandatory sentence for breaking into a Federal Class 1 Compound, Complex, or Office. The number of years increases by between 5-10 years for each item and type of item stolen, theft of materials designated to be important to national security and theft of state secrets is an automatic life sentence.

If you don't get shot in the noggin' by a zealous guard or by the emperor himself when you are found, and you are not hostile or armed, you will be questioned quite thoroughly for the motive of your intrusion. You could even be recruited into an Infiltration commando, since you probably have the skills to belong there if you can reach the imperial quarters.

If you are discovered to be armed or planning to hurt the emperor, you can forget leaving the imperial quarters without lead in your brain.

It would be a standard burglary case with an added set of charges for endangering the duke and stuff like that. And the punishment for that would vary depending on the duchy it happened in.

More interestingly though, given that the Duke who is the head of all courts is also the one who was harmed it is in his right to decide to try and sentence him on the spot. And if that happens the punishment can be anything from being let off to being banished.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

As long as there is zero harm done to the leader or any of their possessions, the punishment is nothing, only getting kicked out politely if spotted. In the past, a few presidents have even taken some of these people out for a beer or out to eat.

Intruders of Imperial residences are subject to summary termination by the Imperial Guard. Considering the sheer effort it takes to illicitly enter any Imperial residence with it's many passive and active defenses and guards, it is safe to assume that any intruder is a highly-trained foreign agent or assassin and therefore a prime security risk warranting immediate termination. Stray visitors, nosy journalists and lovesick stalkers simply don't have the knowledge, technical expertise or the necessary equipment to illicitly gain entry to an Imperial residence.
Freedom doesn't mean being able to do as one please, but rather not to do as one doesn't please.

Trespassers on the Consuls' property are usually given anywhere between six months and three years spent in prison, depending on the severity of the deed (i.e. if the convicted actually broke into the residence, inflicted property damage and/or bodily harm, etc), and is usually accompanied by a fining of between 200 and 1,000 Lira.
