Breaking. Story found here, courtesy of the Washington Post. Figured this was big enough that it didn't need to be shoved into a megathread, but mods are free to correct me on that.

Alabama resident Leigh Corfman said that in 1979, when Moore was an assistant district attorney, he brought her to his home and touched her sexually. Three other women said that Moore — now a candidate for U.S. Senate — pursued them when they were teenagers and he was in his early 30s.

You heard it here, folks: the gun-toting, horse-riding, bible-thumping Man Of God™ might just be a pedophile.

Several Republican leadership figures, notably Mitch McConnell, as well as John McCain, are now calling for Roy Moore to step aside if these allegations are true. This could end up being a turning point in the Alabama Senate race this December. Moore's withdrawing is technically impossible due to state election laws, however some people (notably Lisa Murkowsky, R-AK) are now being tied to a write-in campaign to supplant him with the favored establishment candidate, Luther Strange. Meanwhile Democratic candidate Doug Jones might now feel as if all hope is not lost...

Regardless these allegations are sickening if true. But to be honest I don't want him to leave the race and according to what I've heard Alabama law does not allow him too at this point. I want to test the theory that some areas and states will elect people of one political party no matter what.

Which they probably believe to be the case because there is some grounding in reality to the accusation at hand, or they have heard similar things before and have just remained silent until now. It's not too often that you lose all your political support simply because you're accused of something completely off-base from your character. Especially in a deep-red state like Alabama.

Well, I’ll rethink what I said when more evidence comes out. I don’t trust the GOP establishment much though

So there are two issues
First we have the 14 year old's accusation. This is the most problematic. Illegal and immoral.

Second we have the women aged 16-18. These are the least problematic age of consent is 16 and culturally at the time people were more tolerant of adults with late teens.

I'm leaning towards the allegations being baseless, but I admit, my thoughts are based purely on the timing, which isn't particularly convincing.
