We have discovered a lone galaxy, now henceforth called the Corizona SAa 4-Armed Spiral Galaxy or the Corizona Galaxy for short, in the 8617652+12ae99 Sorco Sector of the Horologium Supercluster.

Coordinates of this newfound galaxy and its entry planet are -7712.819002° 45’, +1.88361° 1’, -5917288.022272° 22’ for your warp drives. The Hyperspace Lane ID is #88167o55 at 244.88. The Wormhole Gate ID is 88rt uidd 10367.

Hello Prospective Nation! Welcome to the Corizona Discovery OOC Thread. This thread will help you to get involved in the Corizona Discovery RP. This roleplay will take place in the Corizona Galaxy, a recently discovered galaxy that is up for grabs on the International (Intergalactic) scale.

Applications will be accepted for nations of all Eras. You can be an FTL Nation that has arrived for the ability to expand, colonize, collect resources or what have you. You could be a native Modern Nation that wants to be left alone, wants to be uplifted, or just struggling to survive. You could even be a native STL Nation, wanting a foothold in your own galaxy. Heck, be that tribe that’s still living in caves. The choice is yours!

This forum is for Applications, discussing Grievances, any Questions or Comments you may have, and anything else that would need discussing Out of Character. Originally, it was planned for this Roleplay to have various other Forums for each planet, but due to the complexity of this Roleplay, we will actually be having it take place on Discord. This Discord Server will have both IC and OOC sections. But please put your Application here and not there!

Planets, excluding for the Entry Planet, will be up for grabs from all groups; FTL, STL, Modern, Stone Age, ETC. will be able to own land on planets. FTL Nations coming from foreign Galaxies will have to lay claim to acres in order to reap the benefits of them, and these will be approved by the Corizona Claims Committee. If multiple Nations lay claim to the same spot, Nations can roleplay out the conflict, or if it was solely by accident, it can be worked out here. Any Nation that is Pre-FTL (essentially stuck to one planet) get first choice on a planet, so FTL and STL that are coming to that planet will have to work around that(those) Nation(s).

We allow Real World Physics, Fantasy Physics, and Magic! You are not restricted, but please don’t use it to God Mod. God Modding is frowned upon. This Galaxy is far away from most others, expect delays in Transports.

This is both an anything-goes and strict-rules roleplay! Moderators (who will be granted both at random and to trusted) and I reserve the right to deem any actions undertaken by your Nation as having been too off-the-wall. NationStates Moderators could get involved if you overstep any NS Rules, so they all still apply.


Maps will be made in a Hexagonal Fashion. Each claim will equal one (1) Hexagon. FTL Nations coming in will get Fifty (50) Initial Claims and can either purchase or trade for more. Native Nations have as many claims as deemed necessary as to make them fit in.

All Incoming Nations will have to go through the Entry Planet [Decodira]. Any movement that requires entering or leaving the galaxy will have to go through Decodira (think of it like Customs). Movement within the Galaxy can be between any two (or more) points.

Nation Abilities

FTL Nation Abilities:
Merchant
Merchant Nations trade and sell goods and supplies. They can set up shops on planets or be constantly on the move in spacecraft. Their goal is to get rich off the planet rush.

Colonize
Colonizing Nations want land that they can put a Permanent Population. Their ultimate goal is to have prospering cities, so they probably also want good resources nearby.

Conquer
Conquering Nations want land in general. This could be just free land they want, it could be from another FTL Nation, or from Pre-FTL Nations.

Resource Gather
Resource Nations want land for untapped resources. Their goal is to find and collect resources, and can then send them back to their home or sell them to Merchants.

Uplift
Uplifting Nations want to find Pre-FTL Nations and bring them to the FTL Era. It could be because they want to enlarge their empire, or they simply want to end there be lesser Nations.

Civil Rights Activist
Civil Rights Activist Nations want to protect Native Populations. This could mean anything from saving them from an expanding empire to even keeping them unaware of the existence of other civilizations in general.

Police
Police Nations are Nations that have volunteered to keep the Claims Race under control. Their goal is to settle disputes and prevent all out wars between FTL Nations. They’re also to make sure that FTL Nations don’t genocide/xenocide Pre-FTL Nations.

[FTL] Pirate
Pirate Nations want stuff. They’ll attack ships to gain resources or take hostages or both or something else entirely. FTL Pirates are able to move between Solar Systems at their will.

There’s probably more, but that’s all I can think of. If you can share a reasonably good ability to add, I’ll happily add it.

Pre-FTL Nation Abilities:
The [STL] Tag denotes that only STL Nations can have those. If there is no tag, then any other Pre-STL Nation can have it.
[STL] Expand
Expanding STL Nations are trying to gain a foothold in their Galaxy. They want land, mainly for colonization and resources, but now they must compete with the faster and larger FTL Nations.


[STL] Merchant
Merchant STL Nations act the same as Merchant FTL Nations, though their goods stay and come from within the Galaxy only.

[STL] Ambassador
Ambassador STL Nations act as Translators and Middle-Men between FTL and Pre-STL Nations. It can be for payment or because of force, you never know, but hopefully the former more than the latter.

[STL] Pirate
Pirate Nations want stuff. They’ll attack ships to gain resources or take hostages or both or something else entirely. STL Pirates aren’t able to move between Solar Systems as easily as FTL Nations, so they’ll mainly stick to single solar systems.

Fledgling Nation
A Fledgling Nation is a Pre-FTL Nation that owns large swaths of land, or even an entire planet or two. These Nations tend to be close to being STL or FTL. This is typically for Post-Modern Era and up. (View the NationTraits™ link below for information on Eras.)

Nation State
A Nation State Nation is relatively small (in terms of FTL), with neighboring Nations and sizes similar to Earth’s Nations.

City State
A City State Nation is an extremely small Nation, typically consisting of only one or two cities and some of the surrounding area.

Tribe
A Tribe Nation would be a Nation that is either Agricultural Movement Era or Stone Age. They do exist up to the Industrial Revolution (like Native Americans or tribes in Africa), but typically are not advanced beyond basic tools and agriculture. They have no permanent land, and as such are always moving depending on the year.

More planets can and will be added, but this is a basic list of thought-up planets for now.
Decodira, Alt Div System
The Alt Div System is the Entry Point for all FTL Nations in the Corizona Galaxy. Their first post in the IC Forums must be here, otherwise they will be hunted down and dragged back to Customs. All Shipments from the outside will have to pass through this point, as it is the only location (and will be the only location) that has the capabilities to allow for Intergalactic Ships to travel, whereas other ports will only allow for Interstellar Transport. Decodira is devoid of all life excluding Plants, and has a relatively high amount of Surface Water. The Atmosphere is thin, but still breathable for most Humans and other Oxygen-Breathing Races. It is the third planet in the Alt Div System.

Vehicle Restrictions
  • The On-Ground Ship Dockyard at Decodira can handle ships up to the dimensions 2000 FT x 2000 FT x 1000 FT.
  • The In-Space Ship Dockyard at Decodira can handle ships up to the dimensions 4 MI x 4 MI x 1 MI.
  • The Stargate (which is in orbit of the planet) can handle ships of up to 1000 FT across as it has a diameter of 1200 FT.

CDS 0009+4, CDS 0009 System
CDS 0009+4 is a relatively warm world in the CDS 0009 System, it being the fourth planet furthest from the Star. It is devoid of an atmosphere and all life. The planet is a small terrestrial metal world, thus meaning it is relatively small but extremely dense, giving it a strong gravitational field. It is rich in valuable metals, such as Platinum, Titanium, Gold, Diamonds, Iron, Lead, Uranium, and various other metals.

CDS 0009+5, CDS 0009 System
CDS 0009+5 is a relatively hot world in the CDS 0009 System, it being the fifth planet furthest from the Star. It has an extremely thick, carbon-dioxide dominated atmosphere with a runaway greenhouse effect, giving the entire planet a sweltering temperature. The planet is a terrestrial planet, giving it a relatively moderate gravitational field. It is rich in carbon materials, such as Sand, Coal, Diamonds, Carbon Dioxide, Carbon Monoxide, Iron, and various other materials.

CDS 0009+8, CDS 0009 System
CDS 0009+8 is a relatively cold world in the CDS 0009 System, it being the eighth planet furthest from the Star. It has a thin, oxygen dominated atmosphere. The surface is covered in snow and ice. The planet is a small terrestrial planet, giving it a relatively low gravitational field. It is rich in Water, Iron, Uranium, Coal, Titanium, and various other elements.

Jorrin, Sederan System
Jorrin is the fourth planet in the Sederan System. It is a habitable terrestrial planet, covered in approximately 65% water. The atmosphere is oxygen dominated and of moderate stature. It is thriving with carbon-based plant and animal life. It is rich in Oil, Coal, Water, Iron, Gold, Xenon,

Zorcoexx, Bacalav System
Zorcoexx is the first planet in the Bacalav System. It is warm terrestrial world, covered in approximately 43% liquid sulfuric acid. It has a moderate, silane dominated atmosphere, with trace amounts of oxygen in it. It is thriving with silicon-based plant and animal life. It is rich in Silicon, Sulfuric Acid, Hydrogen, Phosphorous, Lead, and various other materials.

Below are the two Applications for joining the Roleplay. The first one is for FTL Nations that will be coming through the Entry, the second is for Nations that want to be Native to the Galaxy.

Click here for NationTraits™. This will allow for you to quantify your Nation for use in this Roleplay. At the moment, you have to do the NationTraits by hand, so I’m terribly sorry for that. But life has made it difficult to make this process easier.
A Nation that fails to put down NationTraits will receive either a basic set of traits that neither help nor hurt your country, or put downsides on your Nation.

Please, if possible, try to avoid saying you are from Earth, Sol System. You can be from the Milky Way (though you’ve traveled quite the distance), but please don’t be an Earth Nation (if your Nation is based off an Earth Nation, say you come from a place almost exactly like Earth, but with a different name).

1. Operator (Vodkaslavia) and Moderators (TBA) have final say in disputes, as is with all roleplays. We’ll do our best to be objective about the situation, but disrespecting the Mods can result in them leaning for the other person.

2. You can do anything you want using any tools you want, so long as it’s reasonable. Want to strip mine an area using laser tools? Go ahead if you have them. Want to become friends with a Nation of Lesser or Higher power? Feel free. Want to use magic to power your fighters and nuclear generators to power your cities? Nothing wrong with that. Want to fly starships that are as large as celestial bodies? Try not to, otherwise I’ll have to explain why that would result in the death of your own people as well.

3. Because of the nature of this RP, you’re free to do basically anything you want. Try to keep Planet Busters and other weapons of that general nature to an absolute minimum. If you want to commit Genocide / Xenocide, go right ahead, just expect many nations to turn their back on you or declare war to defend who you’re attacking.

4. Keep it clean. Yes, FTL Nations will be significantly more powerful than most, if not all, of the pre-STL Nations. That does not mean you should be extremely graphic when you describe how you attack. We don’t need to know any exact details unless they’re extremely important. If one of your major characters took a bullet between the eyes, that’s important to know what that entailed. If Soldier Joe #928 was just hit by a mini-nuke, unless Soldier Joe #928 was supposed to be doing something important, we don’t need to know anything else beyond that they were killed.

5. Claims cannot have added resources. A map indicating what is where will be drawn up around the same time we add a planet, so there will already be a distinct number of resources in each area. If you harvest it all in less than an in-game week, then you’ve done it in a week and no more will be in that area.

6. Try to be consistent. If you are a Stone Age Nation, don’t expect to even know what a spaceship is. If you’re an FTL Nation, don’t enter a battle with 500 warships and somehow be fighting with 1000 and leave with only 2 casualties and 5000 ships.

7. Once a Nation has laid claim to Land, it will show on the maps as being owned by them. No one else may claim it. If you really want to get that land, let the games begin.

8. I don’t care if your Nation has the ability to sense resources underground, I will not tell you how much of a resource is below, and I probably also won’t tell you all of the resources in that claim. And your people can’t start digging until you own the land, otherwise that’s considered black market activity, so everyone will be winging it in terms of what they claim. Good luck!

9. Do NOT God Mod. This Galaxy is out in the middle of nowhere. I’m going as far to say that it is so far that conventional means make it nearly impossible to get to. This is why we have an Entry Point. This Entry Point will be watching everything that enters and leaves (doesn’t mean we’ll do anything, just means we know). There is absolutely no other way for your Ships to get to this Galaxy. The Entry Point has been designed to strengthen all means of FTL so you can reach this Galaxy, but otherwise your ships cannot (and will not) be able to travel to this Galaxy without having gone through the EP. No exceptions. We’re even saying the Wormhole Device is strengthened, otherwise it wouldn’t work. So no, you may not build your own devices to enter and leave. This is solely to prevent someone from being overpowered. All systems of getting from the next closest Galaxy to the Entry Point takes five (5) Days, so you will never have immediate reinforcements. Learn to survive in the harshness of space, comrade!

This nation is based off my actual nation states nation, with some minor differences to fit in with this RP. The way the government and ideas work however, is the same. My unusual fauna consists of many interesting birds including the Pheonix. No, I did not mess the spelling up, this is simply the way it is spelled by the humans that live in this nation. Anyways, it literally breathes fire, but only the males can breath fire and the females can fly for longer periods of time and higher. Just look for the entry on them in my fact book. There are also birds with gills that can breath underwater named Aquatage. Aquatage have water-slick feathers like other aquatic birds and can fly out of the water like ducks can. Thanks to their gills they can also breath underwater without issue and swim gracefully as well. As a result these birds can fly when there is danger in the waters and swim when there is danger in the sky, which is why they do so well and prosper. However some sharks in this world have learned to leap out of the water to grab these birds, and this species of shark is appropriately named the Leaping Shark. Leaping Sharks are more social then other sharks, as they have to pass on the skill of leaping which is fairly difficult for young sharks to master. Due to this groups form, with two strong sharks becoming a dominate pair and other sharks joining over time. When a group of sharks grows too big for the dominate pairs liking either the weakest or strongest are kicked out. This seems to vary from group to group, as the strongest are a threat to the pairs dominance but the weakest are dead-weight but easy to boss around. Some sharks do both, and other sharks just kill the weakest members. Whatever the case, those that are chased out search until they find another group who'll take them in. Anyways, a lot of weird creatures have evolved here, which makes the world a bit more dangerous. Maybe I'll even dedicate an entire post to describing them.

OK, I went there and wrote all the traits I have on a piece of paper how do I organize this?! My paper is a jumbled mess of notes! I have exactly 0 OP points and had to make half of my population alcoholics to succeed to in doing that LOL. Anyways, the system really balances out some of the crazier things I'm sure. You want to have an efficient non-corrupt nation with high technology? WELL NOW EVERYONE DRINKS BEER CAUSE THEY CAN. LOL I CAN'T GET OVER IT! Sorry that wasn't very professional, I was just a bit excited....WHY CANT I DO QUOTES! I try and quote something with a qote in it and then I don't want the other quotes so I try to delete it and make the quote and then it goes wrong and I don't even make a quote :/

Click the quote button and leave it alone, otherwise it will mess it up somehow. I type professionally just because it's what I'm used to, but don't worry about being professional with me. This is an OOC afterall. So just talk/type as you normally would.

But yeah, the whole part of the system is make things balance, so whether that's by making half the population alcoholics or by giving your population unsavory geography (as in animals that want to brutally murder you in every way possible). There are multiple ways of formatting this. You can format it by just stating what it was like Goa'uld did, put it into a list, or simply upload a scanned version of your notes. I put mine on Wikia because that's something our Region does (because I told them to). But you can do it anyway you want.

EDIT: I also noticed that you started with the Era's points. There is actually a few starting points, so that will allow for you to have more freedom. I just read what you put and saw that you said you only started with 10. You start with 40 Points.

Thanks for making my own planet :) I would like to know if it will be in its own solar system, or if there are other planets you are planning to add. Perhaps other STLs and nations can have their own plannets in my solar system as well. Am I in the entry-way solar system or my own? I know I said I didn't care, but now that it's there I would like to know just for knowing sake.

That was a mess to read, but I figured it out eventually.

You will be placed in your own system, and I'm presuming that since you said it was the fourth planet that there'd be three before you, maybe another rocky planet after, and then a gas giant or two. Something like:
SUN (I'll let you name it as you wish) -- Metal Planet -- Silicate Planet -- Silicate Planet -- Threa (Silicate Planet) -- Silicate Planet -- Jovian Planet -- Neptunian Planet
(I mean edit the name of the sun, the planets may need time if others wish to be located there too.)
That's the presumed system, though nothing is directly set in stone. The third planet and/or the fifth planet could also be turned habitable for other nations.

Since you're a Native Nation, you'll technically not have to go to the Entry Planet. It could be you got started already with one of the others and met up with my nation there and that's how we logged you. But since you're already someone from Corizona, you won't need to go through the Entry Planet.

OK, thanks. The sun can be named Kothu. The other silicate planets can be in my solar system and just put unclaimed, unnamed. However these planets may be named by our scientists, their official names can remain in the hands of those that inhabit them. Also, I'm very sorry I kinda went crazy with abbreviations. I was saying that this is an awesome roleplay, and that I hope more people will join. :) Thankyou for creating this. Are you thinking of advertising it? I think you can advertise roleplays, and it'll help people find it. Just truely state what the roleplay is about and put a link to it or list the name, make sure advertising is allowed before you do though. I'm sure more people would come if they knew of this, but not a lot of people know, so you have to get it out there.

No worries, I was able to read that. I just meant decoding it from my own mess since they somehow both got put into the quote box.

Kothu it is. And feel free, that adds in more realism. One group always has a separate name for something since language isn't a commonly shared attribute.

I've debated advertising in some of the more "advertising-friendly" places like The Embassy or The NewsStand, but I haven't really thought of what to say. I know a few more from my region plan on joining, as they've been asking me for help with random parts of the application, but for the most that's all I've got. I'll give it a try tomorrow (as it's currently Midnight here) and see what I can come up with to put in other large regions. As for you, if you have any friends in your region you'd like to convince, by all means give that a try too. Any system is fine to try.
