Add a Quote Button on Individual RMB Post Links

If you click on the time-stamp of an RMB post, you go to a page showing that single post by itself (for example, https://www.nationstates.net/page=rmb/postid=27280889). However, the normal "Quote" button that appears when you mouse over an RMB post in a your own region (or a region in which you can post) does not appear in these individual post pages.

This is a minor fix, but I see a use for it. When I have a number of other nations' posts I want to quote in a single post of my own, I usually click the time-stamp on each first, so that I can isolate it and not lose track of it as I compose my post. But then, I can't quote them. I have to click "Context," then "Quote," which seems like an unnecessary step.

You can only quote posts in regions where you're authorized to post. What you're suggesting would either allow you to posts quotes in every RMB, or would cause posting to fail in unauthorized regions. Both are serious negatives. RMBs are there for the region to communicate. Opening it to all players would be a huge problem, and blocking 99.9% of extra-regional posts would cause all manner of confusion.

I can see why you like the idea, but I don't think you've considered the downside. I'm quite certain the mods would be deluged with questions about "why can't I post? I dinna do anything wrong!!1!" I'm very much against this idea.

You can build your quotes manually. It's nothing more than [quote={nationname};{PostID#}(From the URL)]Quoted content[/quote]

On further examination, I think I misunderstood your suggestion, as it linked to a region where I don't have posting permission.

The Quote button appears in the normal RMB, the full RMB (in Forum View), but not on isolated posts. You just want it added to that one view, and only in regions where you're permitted to post. That's probably acceptable and doable.

It's doable, but isn't trivial, since there's no posting box on single-RMB pages. The quote button would need to be altered to direct you to a region or forum-view board page and then insert the relevant quote into it.

There's currently no way to reply to a single post page. We'd have to completely redo the way that sort of page works before we could add replies, quotes or pretty much anything. Since the current system requires only two clicks to make it work, and since you're the first person to complain about this in the decade or so that the current system has existed ... how about we just continue with what we have?

What I usually do is I click "quote" on anything I want to reply to as I browse through a page (in forum view) and before I move to the next page, copy and paste that into a text editor. Then I write my post in the text editor, copy that into the box, preview/edit/submit.

To quote an RMB post from the timestamp link, simply click "context" and quote.
