And so, after the long and exhausting journey, there they were, standing at the center of a grand paradise. Bountiful orchards and rivers, wherever the eye can see. It all seemed too good to be true...

The only question now was, what should they do next.

AREA: EDEN
MAP

Image
This map is out of date!

There are several areas adjacent to Eden, too distant for the eye to see. Some of them are inaccessible due to the deep and turbulent streams of waters flowing between the 2 areas. To safely get across these will require a boat (One could try to swim across, risking his or her life...). To explore these areas, you must first travel there and then also spend time exploring.

Jarn

His stomach growled fiercely, like a beast on the hunt. That was the first thing the weather-battered man noticed when he looked around the new verdant land that the sojourners had discovered, aside from all of the wondrous splendor of nature. Near at hand a grove of trees nodded with lush yellow fruits, and Jarn pondered for only a brief moment before setting off for the grove. A woman close at hand bore a spear, unlike the other weaklings that had come through the portal, and the primitive man spoke to her almost in passing.

"I'm Jarn. You have the look of a warrior, unlike these milk-drinkers. If you seek strength to add to your own, I will be in the south."

Off he loped through the emerald grass, the same color as his eyes, taunt muscles warming to the work as he traveled the half-league to the southern grove. The sun was rising at his left hand over what appeared to be a long plain as he reached the base of the trees, and Jarn slung the spear onto the leather webbing at his back, one of the few remnants of his old life. Hand over hand he climbed, determination furrowing his brow with sweat. Food was close at hand.

Morning Action: Travel to South-Western Grove (Bananas) and harvest fruits

Opal defensively raised her spear when Jarn approached, fully expecting him to be hostile. He too possessed a spear along with the look of a fighter, which could potentially spell trouble. It wasn't until he began speaking instead of murdering her when Opal began lowering her defenses. Jarn paid her a compliment and left, leaving before Opal got a chance to respond. It hardly mattered; with them both being in this new world together, they would surely run into each other again, at least eventually. For the time being, it would be best to focus on finding food of her own before worrying about Jarn and his problems.

Opal walked almost the exact opposite direction as Jarn, worrying that he would scare away animals she could hunt. There had to be animals somewhere, they just had to be found. She traveled to to the Northwestern palm grove, hoping to find some unsuspecting beast having a drink from the nearby river, eating grass, or just living in general. It was fortunate she had a bronze spear and hunting instincts, otherwise her effort spent hunting would be futile. It still may be, but at least if she fails now, she could always resort to cannibalism before starving.

Morning action: Travel to Northwest grove and hunt.

As he sees the two of them leaves Temet, feeling slightly insulted at being called a milk drinker, calls out "Shouldn't we arrange to meet back somewhere" Getting little response the boy scampers after Jarn.

Action move to south west grove and gather banana.

Ussur

Ussur was not so foolish as to stand and watch as hungry eyes fell upon him, let alone eyes belonging to the bearers of spears. He was wiser than that, or perhaps more cowardly, and so he set out as quickly as he could think to, pulling his cloak close around him and breathing deeply, gulping in the fresh air and setting his mind on the sound of rushing water. Men and women could be treacherous, could kill you as you slept or as you rested, but the river would only ever kill you if you failed to respect it. Where a man would slay you on a whim, the water would only slay you if you were dull enough to fall. His own stomach rumbled desperately, after the trek through the caves, the half-remembered trials of a darker time. He barely took the time to nod to his fellows, speaking only a few words in his deep, rich voice, untarnished by the hardship of the journey.

"Good luck to all. If any man cannot find food, though the trees seem abundant enough, I will be glad to give over the bounty of the river for whatever you have to barter."

He loped away quickly after having spoken, on strong, solid legs, feeling for the mesh net and the worn old map hidden away in his tunic with a calloused hand. He did not know how, but he felt at home with the net in his hand, and the river called to him in a voice sweeter than spring. On the river he would make his life, he was sure of that. It took him until mid-morning, when the sun began to crest in the brightness of the sky, to arrive at the riverside. The water rushed cool and clear, and he felt overwhelmed by the sight of the rushing torrent. He sighed, wrapping his map tightly in his cloak, before looking for sure ground, stripping off his tunic, and taking a step into the shallows at the bank of the river. He could see the strange fish flicker about him, and he readied himself to wait, growing accustomed to the water, casting the net, from time to time onto a school of fish before dredging it back up, being careful to keep it close at hand.

By the end of the morning, he had caught a sizeable catch, two mid-sized fish, of shimmering scales, with great dark eyes, and a handful of small, dappled brown fish, that darted in the shallows. He stripped the fish of their scales with a flint, before leaning down against a hillock at the riverside, hiding away his map and hungrily devouring the handful of small fish, barely remembering to pull out their little spines, enjoying the almost salty taste of their meat.

Morning Action Travel to and Fish at the North-West Fishing Spot, +3 Meat, Eat 1 Meat
Inventory: 2 Meat, Fishing Net, Ancient Map.

Morning, The First Day

Jarn & Temet
With great haste, The two man raced to gather the most stacks of banana for themselves. Although, such a competition was not planned, it was but a natural consequence of the circumstances. Eventually, they were both left with a roughly even number of the yellow fruit.

Jarn: +1 Food
Temet: +1 Food

Opal
As Opal roamed around the shady Palm grove she chose as hunting grounds, she slowly came to the realization that the area is almost untouched by wild animals. There were no footprints on the ground, no nests on the trees, and all the low-lying plants and fruits were untouched.

On the other hand, the close to complete silence of grove was occasionally disturbed by distant howls and rumbling coming from the north-west.

Opal: Action still unspent

Ussur
The fish tasted really good, and was enough to fill Ussur's belly for the first half of the day, but whilst eating along the river banks, he could help but feel uneasy, although, he wasn't sure why. He then saw something peculiar amidst the waves. A dark spot in the water, slowly moving along downstream. It vanished after a few seconds...

Iola, Morning, Day One

After arriving in this new and verdant world, Iola was on the ground clutching her statue for comfort as she become accustomed to her surroundings. While the pleasant surroundings were nowhere near as dismal as the ruins they left behind, Iola still knew there would be much she'd have to do to survive. Everything is so hard, she thought, and her dress was still dirty.

She was about to go off and do something, but when she saw the men with spears, a patchwork of memories filled her mind - a scuffle, shouting, her own heightened voice - which left her drained. "Where is everyone going?" she asked meekly, as several of her peers ventured away from the group. She almost thought about following the boy Temet, as he seemed to friendly enough, but decided against it as he went in the direction of the spear-wielders. Subsequently, she wasted away much of the early morning.

Finally, Iola got up and looked around. She could feel her stomach talking to her, and so she shared her concerns with the statue that she occasionally talked to. "So, Vipera, I guess we should go and get some nourishment." After looking around for a while, she spotted signs of a grove to the north with yellow, green, and orange spots within. Citrus?, she thought. Sensing edible fruit, she decided to venture to the northern grove, with her little silver friend, to find something to eat. Hopefully, she thought, her dress wouldn't get any more dirty in the process.

Morning Action: Travel to the Northern Grove and Gather Citrus

After shouting a multitude of profanities, Opal realized there was nothing worth hunting here, or perhaps anywhere in Eden. The idea of cannibalism was starting to seem more and more appealing, especially since that warrior guy recently offered her his hand in a fight. That shouty kid with the backpack would suffice, as would any other weak people running around. Going back to meet Jarn where he said he'd be, Opal trotted back down south, where she saw Jarn climbing a banana tree with some kid. "Hey, Jarn!" She shouts. "There ain't no animals for me to hunt! You wanna hunt people with me? We can split it."

Jarn noticed a child grabbing the ripe fruits from some of the trees in the grove, and then heard a voice speaking from below him- ah, the woman who had been in the group earlier. He couldn't place her name, but then again, his mind wasn't all it could be after the mystical transition from... wherever they had been before.

"I've heard a lot of plans I like less." The warrior gestured with one burly fist toward the child scrambling about with its arms full of food.

"The little one seems like it won't last long anyway. And its bag would be useful."

Not to mention that Jarn saw the food on these trees was pretty seriously limited. It wouldn't fill many mouths for long. He shimmied back down the tree in a moment, and landed lightly beside Opal, noting with approval the way she held her spear ready for action. The burly warrior pulled his own weapon off of his back, and gestured towards the teenager.

"Nothing like a bit of spilt blood in the morning to get the mind working properly."

He gripped the bronze spear tightly, his most prized possession, and advanced on the teenager.

Action: Cancel gathering fruit during the morning- instead, HEDGEHOG and give Temet a good piking

"That's what I'm talking about!" Opal cheerfully shouts as she too draws her spear. She didn't expect him to be on board so easily and for them to be killing so fast, but nevertheless, she was pleased. There was no hesitation by Opal when she charged at Temet, trying to stab him wildly with her spear. This wouldn't be the first person Opal murdered, and while her memory of how to fight is foggy at best, her muscle memory allowed her to fight in a manner that could be mistaken for professional. Already, she was thinking about which parts she wanted and which to let Jarn have.

Jarn, Opal & Temet

As Temet was planning on gathering bananas from the tip of the palm tree, he felt something sharp piercing his back. A Spear, held by Jarn. The pain was almost unbearable...

Instinctively, the boy fled the Grove, but just as he was past the last palm tree, A crazed woman was waiting for him with a spear of her own. This one cut into Temet's arm.

A brief chase then followed, However, in the end, Temet was faster then both his attackers, given that he was not carrying around a large spear.

Temet loses 4 Vitae, 4/10 V remaining.
Temet gains condition: Bleeding. Lose 1 Vitae each day phase until healed.

Once she reached the grove, Iola worked as hard as she could at picking the citrus from the trees, stretching her arms as much as was possible for the woman. "Watch this," she said to Vipera, her inanimate sculpture friend. "We'll have enough for us all to eat, and by us I mean me, because you don't eat. Plus, I just know citrus gives you strength in the sun as well. Don't ask me how I know."

Thankfully, the trees in this grove seemed plentiful enough, and Iola gathered several oranges, a lemon, and a couple limes from the tree, enough for two meals, and set them down next to Vipera, who was perched on a rock. Iola then sat down next to the rock, and undid the peel to an orange with her fingernail to reveal the essence inside. She dug in.

"Finally," she said, in between a mouthful of orange, "Some sustenance."

Action: Forage from citrus grove, consume one fruit. One other fruit added to inventory.

Jarn, Morning, Day One

The teenager bounded past Jarn swifter than he would have reckoned, at least given the lad's recent status as the receiver of a spear to the back. In only a few strides of pursuit the warrior realized he wouldn't be catching up with the young man, and, seeking to preserve his stamina, Jarn halted his pursuit. Ahead, near the edge of the grove, another cry of pain told him of Opal's success in wounding their quarry too, and a predatory smile ghosted across the dour killer's mien.

A short walk, and he found Opal, her spear bloodied like his own. Heavy drops of crimson, the thick red-purple of arterial spray, marked a track south and east, away from the banana grove. Jarn leaned on his spear for a moment, then squatted to assess the trail.

"Heavily wounded. Bleeding profusely. I'm dastardly hungry- I'm going to shake down some fruit from these trees, have a good meal. If you want to run down that weakling, good hunting; you're useful in a fight, you are. If I have any extra food, I'll see if I can save some for you."

Jarn nodded to Opal in a way that indicated his respect for her bloodied weapon. Someone who could steel their nerves and do what needed doing was an asset in these strange times, to be sure. If he hadn't driven off that child, they probably both would have been starving within a fortnight. It was cruel, but necessary.

After waiting to hear if Opal would say anything, Jarn eventually resumed his foraging in the banana grove. A tang of blood lingered in the air, but it didn't perturb the warrior unduly. Survival was a harsh mistress. A few minutes wasted driving off competition for the succulent yellow flesh of the fruits that soon graced his lips was worthwhile indeed.

"We got the bananas locked down, and I've got plenty of other responsibilities here in Eden. For now, I think I'm just gonna gather some wood. If we plan on surviving the long run, we'll need it." Arduously, Opal spent the morning going around the grove picking up sticks and easily ripped branches. It was quite a boring and admittedly peasant task, but it had to be done eventually. Who knows, perhaps if one of them finds a sharp rock, they could make an ax, which would be incredibly useful for making shelter. Murder is definitely fun, but there's other things on the itinerary, and Opal couldn't spend the whole day running around trying to murder one kid.

Cairn, Morning of the First Day

The green field was a far different view from the old world Cairn hailed from. Here, the sunlight shines brightly and the sky is wide and clear. He scarcely remembered his past, but he knew very well that it was a different an alien world compared to this one. When Cairn arrived on this foreign land, he didn't know what to do. A memory reminded him that he had a duty, but now he wondered what that duty was, or if it even still relevant in the new world. He only knew that he needed to survive, and to survive he needed to find food.

There was no game running around, nor bushes of berry in his vision, so Cairn started to walk. He wasn't heading on a certain direction, just going somewhere with food. His hands were holding his spear tightly, ready to attack should someone or something suddenly appears and attacks him. Fortunately, there was none in his journey. Soon enough he saw slender trees stood in the distance. Branchless palms holding green and yellow fruits between the blade like leaves. With eagerness Cairn climbed one of the tree and reached the hard-shelled fruit, wrestling two of them from their stalk and threw them to the ground beneath. With the same nimbleness Cairn sled down the tree. Using the edge of his spear, Cairn opened the first fruit, revealing the white flesh and sweet water inside. He sent a silent gratitude to the forgotten gods of old before he quenched his thirst with the fruit-water. Now that he had settled one of his problem, he only needed to figure out what to do next.

Action: Forage fruit on Coconut Grove, one fruit is consumed.

Jarn, Afternoon, Day One

The warrior stooped, carefully cleaning his spear of the blood that slicked its end on the rippling green grass. That was one thing he did remember from the time before... whatever had sent them here.

"Aye, wood. That'll be handy. A fire at night, a roof for a storm. I'll catch up with you later."

It took many more hours of combing through the rest of the grove to scrape together enough food for a second meal; his instincts had been right, stretching this food to two would be difficult. But, unlike would have been the case with the child, here he gained enough food to stop his own stomach from growling, and found a potential ally. That was worth far more than just letting some snot-nosed brat harvest the bounty of the trees.

This Opal, he recalled her name. Her movements in the copse spoke volumes about her past; her feet were careful to avoid treading on branches, her movements unconsciously furtive, as if looking to avoid making any unnecessary sound. A hunter, or scout, so he adjudged her. The sun was high towards noon when Jarn at last stopped his foraging, the only fruits in sight those far too green to be a viable food source. He trudged over to where Opal had piled up a large mass of sticks and branches, and nodded to her in a familiar manner, producing a bundle of bananas from the rigging on his back.

"Here, breakfast, or lunch, if you prefer. These are what that lout would have eaten if you didn't help me drive him off."

Jarn squatted near the branches as the woman dug into her meal.

"Are you a hunter perchance? You have a spear, and the way about you. I don't know the first thing about tracking game, but I do have a map here that I grabbed on our way out of... that place. Unless I miss my guess, and I have a good eye for geography, it looks like it illustrates the land here that we have arrived at, and some of the surroundings."

It was a beaten up oilskin sketch, made with some ink that Jarn didn't recognize. But that didn't matter. He could read it all the same.

"I was thinking- I saw one of the people that came through the mirror with us making for the western river with a net. If he has caught some fish, he might be amenable to trading for some fruits. A bit of fish roasted over a small fire would fill us both up better than mere bananas; I was thinking I could take the time this evening to study this map, maybe find a place we could move to hunt for proper meat tomorrow."

The warrior gestured toward the spear on his back. "I don't really know how to stalk prey, but I can learn. At any rate, it might be wiser to find good places for game. These copses of fruit-trees appear to be quite limited. Anyway, if you harvested some of the fruit while I was studying and traded it with the fisher, I'd be happy to share with you any intelligence I can wrestle out of this bit of parchment by the time the moon graces us with her presence."

Septimus
The sun by god the sun, how glorious it was. These were the first thoughts Septimus had as he walked through the green plain before him, the next thought that hit him was that of his withered body and the fact that he had been depraved from food for far too long. He noticed of to the distance there were abundant supplies of food in the trees however he also had the sense to realise that he best not interfere with the affairs of the two rather fearsome looking individuals both armed with spears and whom appeared to know how to use them effectively.

As he raced to the eastern most grove he took great care to ensure that the ancient scripture that he had found in the city was protected for he had developed an almost religious reverence towards the scroll believing that it carried some kind of spiritual meaning. When ,after a taxing run on Septimus's body, he had finally reached the Papaya fruit groves his mind reverted back to those times in the deep caverns of the Earth where all there was to eat were mushrooms that had grown along the tunnels and occasionally if they were lucky they would be able to take some of the dead meat of one of the fallen comrades however he was soon able to snap out of his flash back and immediately began to collect as many Papaya fruit as he possibly could forage (which wasn't rally all that much). After collecting a satisfactory amount of fruit he began to consume the fruit with a ferocity that is usually only displayed by starved animals, he was able to gain enough control of himself before he ate the entirety of Papaya fruit and with remainder he carefully stored it within the various pockets of his cloths.
Actions: travel to grove, forage Papaya fruit, eat Papaya fruit, vitae = 8
Afternoon
Now that Septimus's hunger was now sated he could get to his intended work which was to discover what this strange new world had to offer, this descion to leave Eden was due to two factors, one: curiosity, two: fear for in the woods of this region he had heard terrible screams that sounded as if they may have come from a child. He set of late in the afternoon with his pockets filled with fresh food and his precious scripture. The path that Septimus took was one that kept him close to the river so that he may find his way back in case wherever he may be going was filled with rather unsavoury things. Eventually after a few hours of walking he had finally arrived in the new region, his legs felt as if they were made threads after the journey and he could never quite catch enough breath coupled with this the sun was beginning to set so Septimus quickly muttered a few words about claiming this land in his honer and then promptly dropped to his knees and fell into the murky abyss of unconsciousness.

Day 1

Opal didn’t respond when Jarn offered her fruit. It was already sundown when Jarn had finished picking bananas and Opal had finished gathering wood. At the time, Opal just wanted to sleep. Maybe she’d find food in the morning, who knows. No one needs to eat every day, and they could always save their food for later, when it’s a bit more scarce. Maybe it’s an act of goodwill, letting Jarn have an extra few bananas, or maybe Opal doesn’t trust Jarn enough to accept his offering. No one knows, not even Opal, who just refused without thinking much.

Day 1 actions

Morning: Combat
Afternoon: Gather 1 Wood
Night: Sleep

Jarn, Afternoon, Day One

The burly man shrugged after his ernstworst compatriot didn’t show an interest in eating. Maybe she was too tired to feel hungry, or had food he didn’t know about. Jarn hadn’t come through the portal with anything that could be called sustenance, unless he got hungry enough to eat bits of rotting leather from his own clothes, but he wasn’t that far gone yet.

Another opportunity presented itself then. That fisher, yes. The warrior made for the western river, where the other man had disappeared early in the morning, his strides eating up the short distance. Variety was the spice of life, after all; not to mention some of the bananas were already fading from their brilliant green-yellow to a less appealing deep yellow with hints of brown. Jarn hadn’t seen these fruits before, but he knew the signs of age. Curious how it affected this food so quickly, but all the more reason to trade it away before it went off.

He found the other man crouching near the river, two dead silver fish of significant size on the bank near him. The sight of the fresh meat made Jarn’s mouth start with saliva, but he reigned in his emotion and slung his spear over his back, approaching the man with his palms outward to show he meant no harm.

“Ho the Fisher. Good day to you. My name is Jarn- I come bearing goods for trade, fresh fruit, if you are interested.”

Ussur

The squat fisherman observed the dark shadow flicker in and out of view in the water and was thankful he hadn't been stood in the shallows to feel whatever the thing was' passing. He did not know why he feared a beast large enough to cast such a shape in the water, he could remember nothing of the sort, but the idea of thrashing and bloody and filled his mind at the sight and thought of it. He had no interest in disturbing the river. Perhaps he had offended it by fishing without giving homage in the proper way, though he did not know what way that could be. The feeling of the rich riverside grass on his back quickly pulled him away from staring into the water, and he spent the first moments of the afternoon picking scales from his teeth and thinking of what to do next. With something resembling a meal down him, he could rest more easily, and with the fresh river water, he could hardly worry about a parched death. Only a lack of shelter or an attack from his former fellows could fell him now, and he knew it to be wise to make sure the others never felt the need to bother him.

Somehow drawn to it, he moved back to the riverbank, pulling on his tunic, and kneeling, closing his eyes and thinking the river, in a quiet voice under his breath, for its bounty. He tossed the spines of the little fish into the water to return them to it, and hoped in some earnest that the river would be less likely to send thrashing beasts to tear him away, or to drown him by some poor fortune of current. It was then that he heard the loping strides of a man coming up behind him. He wrapped his map tightly in his cloak, and felt for his flint, preparing for the worst. At the sight of Jarn, bearing a spear, he felt almost as if he had been right to worry, and he rose to his feet to face the spearman.

At Jarn's words, however, he sighed in relief, and smiled across his broad, rough face. Trade was something he could do with, with his extra fish likely to rot soon enough, and he could do with something more than flesh to feed himself. And still, it was wise to make common cause with the armed and the rough, if only to be left in peace.

"Fortune to you, Spear-Bearer, I am Ussur, and I would be glad to trade with you, from the bounty of the river. One of these great fish for a few of your fruits, if that pleases you. How are the people still among the groves?"

Jarn retrieved a bundle of bananas from the leather straps at his side, and handed it to the man called Ussur, taking one of the large fish at the man's side in exchange. Its body was still warm, touched by the sun, and the warrior crouched down near one of the flat rocks by the river, a massive black boulder which was uncomfortable hot when he laid hands on it. Working carefully with the tip of his spear, Jarn neatly filleted the fish, dumping the offal and guts to one side, and arranging the meat on the surface of the large rock to cook in the noonday sun.

"Hard to say, Ussur. The only folk I have seen since our arrival in this place are you, a hunter called Opal, and a young boy who was gathering fruit near where I got these bananas. Opal seemed interested in gathering wood, to use for some purpose, perhaps a fire for the night. Myself, I am searching for plants like those I know which may be edible. This area seems quite devoid of life- have you noticed there is no birdsong, there are no insects in the air?"

Jarn shook his head.

"It is unnatural, and makes me uneasy. There is food here, to be certain, but I would rather not spend too long in these wide open fields."

A thin smell of cooking flesh wafted through the air as the warrior finished speaking, and with smile he inspected the cooking fish. It wasn't anything like what could be done over an actual fire, but most of the pink flesh was now a more healthy-looking gray, and the emerald-eyed man began pulling the strips of fish off of the hot rock and consuming them with obvious relish.

As he finished off his fish, Jarn retrieved a map from the leather pouches of his tattered vest, and began to peruse it. He wasn't too near the edges of the river, due to fearing damage to the oilskin material, but he searched the map for indications about what might lay south and east along the line of the river's northern borders, beyond the banana trees and clay pit he had espied earlier. It was a mysterious thing to him, to project what was onto a physical document, but his primitive mind struggled forward nonetheless.

Ussur

Ussur looked on with another sudden burst of hunger at the outstretched hand bearing the fruit. He did not know of what sort the meal was, but it wpuld certainly add something to the fish. As soon as he could lay his broad, calloused ahnds on them, he set to work on the fruits, tearing away peel after peel to get at the soft fruit within, enjoying the play of the sweetness of the ripe fruit, and the half-salt of fish scales. He wished he had had the idea of letting the fish crisp in the heat, but the small ones had been good as they were.

Ussur crouched down again to be more comfortable, and listened as Jarn spoke, paying close attention as the names and identities were rattled off, recalling the spear-woman he'd seen at dawn, along with the younger lad he'd spotted too. He wished them both luck in the wilderness, but he would not toss his life away following and feeding others. Charity was a cliff, he remembered, though he did not remember who had told him. As the spearman spoke further, Ussur noticed that he was right. No birds darted in the sky to be heard, and no creeping things wandered in the grasses. He had not even felt the bite of a river-fly. What had gone unnoticed before then quite suddenly struck him with concern, his eyes growing pensive as he thought on why. Perhaps it was a dream. When Jarn came to an end, he spoke out, in his rich, heavy voice.

"I see it, Jarn, and now you say so it does worry me. I would be glad to get away from the shards of that mirror, and to be as far from the labyrinth as may be. But the rivers bind us, at least without wood for a boat, so we must find a forest within their boundaries, or come upon an axe to hew apart the grove trees. I know the river, at least better than you or the others, and it is yet more dangerous than the whirling currents would tell."

He saw Jarn draw out a tattered map, and looked confusedly up at the man, drawing his own map from his cloak.

"We have the same treasure, Jarn, but it must be a mystery to you too. I think it shows this place, the winding of the river says so, but I cannot make out all of it. We'll do better if we share what we find, since we seem to share an aim; get away from the strangeness of this place and find a place of proper living"

With that, he set to work studying the work as Jarn did, feeling invigourated by the meal of sickly sweet fruit, and by the rush of the cold river water, still filling his hair. He would, in this as in all else, follow the river, tracing out lines to try and determine what lay on the river-bank to his north. Quickly enough, he would be convinced that in order to properly learn what lay in the land, he would have to go to it, and to look through the map with the landmarks in sight. With that, he wrapped up his net, his remaining fish and his map in his tunic, before setting out along the riverbank, heading north, checking the map as he went to try to keep co-ordinated.

Afternoon Action: Trade 1 fish for 1 banana, eat Banana. Move to the unknown area north along the river, and study the map to explore properly.
