October 14, 2017 shall mark the 300th year of the A ‘oʻonele’ia Monarchy under the Keakualā Dynasty. Originally established by Queen O’kala Keakualā I in 1717, the nation has been ruled by eight monarchs over the last three hundred years, five queens and three kings. Now, under Queen O’kala’s great-great-great-great-granddaughter, Queen Maika’i II the kingdom of A ‘oʻonele’ia shall celebrate three centuries of history.
Queen Maika’i II, having ruled for the last twenty-one years since 1996, wishes to spread good cheer and kindness around the world has decided to invite foreigners for the first time to visit the island nation to mark this event. A grand ball shall be held at the capital city of 'Āinapaʻaʻole at the Kumkani Palace. The gala shall be followed by a celebration carnaval and presentation of gifts. Queen Maika’i II also hopes that this will solidify the kingdom’s friendship with other nations.
