Does your nation have a propaganda ministry?

If so, what is it called? How pervasive is it in aspects of public society?

Kramania's propaganda ministry is known as the Ministry of Knowledge, and its propaganda can be found in nearly every aspect of civilian life.

In AHSCA, we have what is known as the United Island of (Public) Information and Culture. The office serves the general public for no charge beyond their annual taxes and broadcasts out on radio and international satellite broadcast carriers. As it stands it mostly serves to have a news program domestically with general information about the island, internationally. Still radios are a rare commodity and television is pretty much nonexistent (due to expense) so much of their information is printed. Because it's so widely available at sea ports and shops, it's practically impossible not to see a dispatch from the office regarding something.

We have had no propaganda in Kenmoria since the Cold War. The closest thing would be our ministry of communications which deals with television and radio but they do not facilitate propaganda.

"Ministry of Media and Communication" controls and censors all forms of state-run medias in the country (TV, radios, some websites on the internet) as appropriate, and also feeds vital information (new legislatures, measures, regulations, etc) along with patriotic, mildly anti-capitalism to the population. However, the government is still rather populist, bearing in mind the people's civil rights and the Zitravgradian entertainment industry is remarkably small. This means that the ministry has to allow foreign TV and radio channels to be on aired in Zitravgrad as long as subtle propaganda still makes it way into national medias. Nicknamed "Propaganda Hub", it's not like people don't know that this ministry is a major ideological mastermind.

The Ministry of Public Information is responsible for promoting & disseminating the official government line on all issues. As Austrasian law provides for a right of reply their most common activity is providing official replies to critical commentary in the press and on the internet.

There is also a separate Military Censorate under the War Ministry. All media purveyors in Austrasia must comply with the directives of the Censor regarding what can and cannot be published about the Austrasian armed forces, and must comply with orders from the Censor to remove or alter content deemed to compromise military secrecy. Penalties for noncompliance are strict and consequently, most journalists will only publish a story on the military after running it by the Censor.

In the Rikanan government, the State Ministry for Information & Communications is responsible for all forms of mass media in Rikana, including all state-run television channels, radio stations, and newspapers. Anti-communist, anti-capitalist and pro-National Socialist propaganda are regularly aired, along with several foreign programs that has made it through the Ministry's Department of Censorship.

In the Holy Empire, we have the Ministry of Information, Education, and Entertainment. They produce everything from school textbooks to posters to television shows.

The Republic's state itself has no equivalent to a propaganda ministry, although the Ministry of Culture does produce promotions of certain ideas now and then (though this is not at all their main occupation).

Furon has no explicit Ministry of (Internal) Propaganda, but spreading any foreign, expansionist economic or religious system is deeply frowned upon. Although barred from causing bodily harm, voting districts and family clans have the legal right to treat you as a second-class citizen. All of this is encouraged as patriotic anti-subversion by the newspapers of the land. Many past "spy-catchers" have become cultural icons, with their exploits becoming semi-fictionalized and larger than life. In practice, only the vain, overzealous, or jingoistic try to actually "be a hero" in this manner, and Furon's people are mostly tolerant of other beliefs as long as it's kept personal and does not affect daily life or economic production.

For foreigners, propaganda is dispensed by the Information Office of the Eighth Legion (classification 3,2,八). This can simply by patriotic propganda repeated as fact for foreign tourists in Furohold (the capital, also the most popular tourist destination) or materials designed to be disseminated abroad for the purposes of cultural or governmental subversion by Furonese diplomats, technical aid personnel, spies (both industrial and military), assassins, or revolutionaries.

The Empire has no propaganda ministry. Though the Ministry of Culture has foreign outreach offices and has distributed propaganda to demoralize enemies in war.

The DGES permits propaganda, but we do not have an official propaganda ministry, since all of our normal slaves do not have the capability to even think.

During the Western Insurrection, Tawwassian Revolutionaries with the Western People's Liberation Front organized The Council for Wartime Propaganda and Media, responsible for spreading Revolutionary Ideals among the general population and galvanizing support for the WPLF against government forces and their supporters. This came through Anti-Capitalistic radio, television, art and literature, heavily focused on idealizing martyrs who had fallen in the early days of the conflict.

Since the end of the war, the Council has been merged into the Council for Information and Telecommunications, which no longer distributes Propaganda.

The Ministry of Public Enlightenment and the Imperial Board of Arts and Communications advocates the use and dissemination of patriotic media and artistry is to spread the fundamental ideals of Occult-Fascism, Pan-Scandinavianism, anti-Bolshevism, the Troth, comradeship between citizens, beautiful natural features/landscapes and prescribed virtues.

The People's Republic of Zhouran does not have a single agency for propaganda. Instead, different government agencies create different propaganda for different purposes. For example, the Ministry of National Culture creates promotional media to foreigners that promotes the unique culture of Zhouran, the beautiful landscapes of the nation, and the long-lasting history of the Zhouranese people. Not only that, various political organizations would create their own propaganda, for example, various fringe outcast groups of political superhardliners would create propaganda pieces involving conspiracy theories, esoteric-occultism, and Political Enlightenment for The Awakened that goes "well-beyond the mainstream politics followed by herds of blind sheep".

The Ministry of Internal Distribution, aka the Propaganda Ministry, mostly has its roles confined to military parades, "motivational posters" and the like.
It is not too pervasive, thanks to reforms involving government transparency (etc) by the former semi-absolute monarch, Empress Eve (re-positioned herself to a constitutional role).

We had one. With an end of the state monopoly on industries in 1973, the Ministry of Media and Propaganda (MMP) was abolished. Its last minister bought and used the former ministry's equipment and hired the MMP's team to found Bluemoon Studios, an all-Coldfieldian company which produced famous works such as the sci-fi trilogy Multiversal War, in a not too distant future where Coldfieldians saved the universe from an impending catastrophe. In 1994 Bluemoon Studios was merged with Cyberworks, owned by the Earl of Crownsville - the capital of Coldfield - thus creating Cybermoon Studios, whose first work was the animation series Rageman in 1995 - regarded as the masterpiece of Coldfieldian fiction.

Cybermoon Studios has governmental funding and is exempt from taxes - which means the Monarchy has a final say in the company's decisions.

The Office of Public Affairs is the closest thing that Thermodolia has to a propaganda ministry. The Office of Public Affairs is apart of the Thermodolian Department of State and is tasked with informing the Thermodolian public on government and foreign policy.
