Operation Downfall (The invasion of Tropicarno) (open)

Emperor Edward I stood before a group of high ranking military officers, politicians, and dozens of video cameras, he was to give his official speech on the Anglo-Saxon invasion of Tropicarno.

"My fellow Anglo-Saxons today is a great day for the Empire. Not that long ago Tropicarno invaded the Anglo-Saxon Empire with the goal of supposedly liberating our people. Instead Tropicarno burned down our cities, and executed civilians, only to later be driven back. Now Tropicarno is again intervening in our politics, they are invading Raludcia an ally of our nation that had signed a treaty to end its civil war just before Tropicarno invaded. Now with Tropicarno's armies on the verge of defeat in Raludcia the Anglo-Saxon Joint High Command has been planning an invasion of Tropicarno with the goal of making sure that they may never intervene in our nation's business ever again. While a large part of our army is currently in Raludcia we still have enough soldiers to carry out the opening moves of our invasion.

The Anglo-Saxon Navy will leave Raludcia, and pick up several divisions from the Imperial Army, as well as 12 privately owned brigades from the national militia. Once the forces are pick up we will begin our invasion of Tropicarno, and truly avenge those unjustly killed in both ours, and Raludcia's civil wars by this savage nation."

Due to the fact that the navy must return to the empire first the forces will arrive in about 5 weeks

Erwin Speer heard the news and his face turned pale

he thought he had earned the Saxans respect with the fair treatment HE gave the saxans during the war but obviusly the houner of there people and respect he had earned had run thin he sat up and and made a radio braudcast

My fellow Tropicarns people citicens soldiers bakers blacksmiths everyone who lives in our fair country i have dire news last night the people of the Anglo saxan empire offically declered war and are mobiliseing to invade our country. They have thrown away all houner and fairplay into the abis and unjustly attacked our fair nation when all we aim to do is try to free people from opressive states is that to much to ask.

as such i must ask that any man without a job and is suitible is her by conscripted into the army any exceptianal people with or without jobs are being braught into the special forces which must be increased to deal with the saxans small but hardy army

this is a very stressful time indeed for all but we will prevail they simply do not have the man power to take over the country but we cant allow them to humble us and to make us look weak so i beg of you all please do not help these people make them starve burn the crops deprive them of our warter make them turn back for our country and leader

Predictor Lak'Tor stood on a podium high above the people of Laoudine, his speech was being broadcast live to the entire Nation.

"Fellow Dinosians! Lend me your ear, for I have news of importance. Earlier today, our Ally the Anglo-Saxon Empire, declared war upon the nation of Tropicarno. It is our duty, as members of the League to support them in this war. We will be sending our troops to war in these foreign lands, however they cannot win this alone. No, they need the help of their people, their friends, their family, their lovers, all of you! Rise up for your nation! Rise up for your people! Rise up for your allies!"

The crowd cheered as the Predictor took his leave, his war council had already agreed on the number of troops to be deployed. The forces in Raludcia would be allowed to return home, and fresh troops would be sent to help acheive Operation: Downfall.

King Adolphus I sat in his office contemplating, thinking of how his reign was one that would surely be remembered for the massive conflict that led to his being in power. At 16 Adolphus looked young on the exterior, but internally he had the knowledge of a man of far more advanced years. He was studying the reports of war between Tropicarno and his allies. The Tropicarno people had invaded Raludcia and killed many of its people in the civil war - such a fresh memory for everyone in the country. However he could not stand by as his allies went to war without Raludcia - the league was meant to operate together and that is how they would. He finally came to a decision. Of his war weary troops he would pick the best, ones who had seen the horrors of war multiple times over and merge them into a fighting force like none seen before in Raludcia. The 3 Week course whittled a possible 1,000 men down to a small unit of 100 who were the best fighting men Raludcia could offer. They had a simple mission - cause as much damage to the enemy as possible. Led by Marshall Diebeck, a veteran of Guerilla warfare in the civil war the team would infiltrate into enemy territory and stalk the lands as deadly, silent killers.

0100 Hours, 10 miles from the Tropicarno Border

Marshall Diebeck clenched his fist around his Nicksyllvanian ISR Mk. IV, the standard weapon of the Raludcian Army. They were only a few miles from the enemy now as the stealth helicopters flitted through the moonlit night towards either death or glory. The men around him were the best in the country - having fought through 3 years of constant death and destruction in the civil war. Men in this aircraft he knew had fought in trench battles, assasination missions and even in the close combat onslaughts of the battles in the coniferous forests of Raludcia. Each and everyone of them a natural killer. He felt slightly sorry for any enemy who might get in the way of their mission. Only Slightly though.

A few miles from the border the teams were dropped off and split into 4 units of 25, they then split even futher down in order to get across the border undetected. Despite all precautions 2 men were caught by border guards and their fate was left unknown, probably better that way. Most of the men got through however and spread deep into Tropicarno territory awaiting the Anglo-Saxon assault.

In the higher floors of the Capitoline Sphere, an attendant burst into War Administrator Robert Thurston's open, spacey, incredibly white office, interrupting his admiration of the cloudless sky and his daily 15-minute midafternoon break from post-Admins' Teatime and Daily SitRep paperwork.
"Sir, something's going down in Tropicarno. We could have a dogpile rolling there, and some prime colonizing land is pretty much up for grabs. Some of our Saxon friends have made themselves another war, sir." The attendant blurted out breathlessly. Deep in his thoughts, war meant extra paperwork and later hours for him, but seeking nonviolent resolution in a Department of Violent Resolutions was a sure way to be called a "spineless faggot" by his less erudite lessers who cared of only "kicking ass." It paid well and got him shiny things, but his coworkers he could not stand.
"Let me guess, somebody said something mean at an IASEN conference and it spilled over into a war." The War Admin sighed cynically. He wanted glorious wars of conquest, but now he didn't want to. He did not know why.
"Yes, sir, and the Dionisians have dogpiled too."
"Well, then, get me to Strategic Command and let me decide."
They then exited the office into the white-walled, red-carpeted corridors, and after fifty feet, took an elevator. Neither of them said a word, but the attendant tapped out a text message for the STRATCOM officer there.
Disembarking from the elevator, they burst into a bustling, NORAD-like room, with monitors flashing various colors and nobody enjoyed a moment's rest.
"You know what to do, take me to SitRep! I want to what the hell is going on!" The Admin snapped his fingers and secretaries flanked him, organizing printouts to present, likely going to interrupt whatever previous printout he would be reading. The Admin settled himself in the concave side of a curved desk, facing the central wraparound monitors.
"Sir, it seems like first contacts of Saxon-and-company and Trops will not be soon for a while, but when it does, all hell will break loose. We have to exploit this advantage." A female secretary, one of his higher-level advisors(she was High Officer Second Order after all), calmly explained as she slipped paper after paper into his field of vision. Admin Thurston was a bit peeved as he was cut off in the middle of words, but he knew enough. "Of course, this is an existential threat for Tropicarno, so resistance will be...intense. So will being the white knight, if only due to numbers." He caught that sentence as he paid little attention to her speaking. Radio clips from various nations played in the background, distracting his attention.

"My god, what a hick accent, and what a spineless fool." The advisor noted. She wasn't very nationalistic, but anyone could see that whoever this Top was, it wasn't all that smart by Satirian standards. "They're already expecting defeat, and their leader is a simpering fool. They'll do better as a colony."
"Well then, let's send a few divisions after 'em, shall we? 54,000 men-that's three divisions, along with the 4th Fleet for good measure, and besides, we need to break in the SNS Azathoth. More a token army than anything, but should let us carve a good piece of Torpicarno for ourselves. Like Raludcia, we're going to mostly cause damage, and keeping a slice of the pie is secondary, 'cept that you know, we don't have a hormonal teenager at the helm. Can't do much harm either way." The Administrator was eager to set in motion a colonization attempt, and even more eager to set up operational strategy-the real meat of commanding.

As The cival war ended the army began its Transportation home

Rommel arrived early as he now marched into the imperial senite house and declered himself Ruler of Tropicarno the young man now had to issue the defense of his country he sent out a second radio braudcast to his people

Yesterday the cival war ended with a truce which braught about the execution of Erwin speer this is a tragic loss for us all but truth is people HE WAS SPINELESS it is time we finally rose up and showed then enamy what we are made off we have a large airforce and army which outnumbers our enamys 3-1 and with millitrey genius,s like me leading them we cant lose it is improbable already soldiers around the country are laying down traps building extra bridges trenchs barbed wire mg posts bunkers everything for a defensive operation and now i say let them come we are ready our sheer determination will crush them and will bring about a peace between our peoples

after having a debate in the "shura" (our parliament) it was decided by 68% percent that tropicarno's actions and especially rommel's were against our principals and therefore we are willing and ready to provide medical,logistical and air support (as much as 700 aircraft) should The Anglo-Saxon Empire sees the need for that.

It is our understanding that you are facing an imminent invasion. ICCD is willing to take historical artifacts that are in need of safe keeping. Likewise monetary instruments, and commodities which are at risk of plunder may also be kept safely in ICCD. Refugees who have reason to fear for their safety or well being are also invited to stay in Dian Refugee camps for the duration of the invasion. Your navy or expensive aircraft be they of military nature or commercial or private, as well as shipping both merchant and military commercial nature aware.

Although not a direct state function. There are a number of mercenary forces within ICCD that would be willing to supliment your manpower and equipment for a price.

Your nation will receive a fair share of Tropicarno once it is conquered based on how much you supported the invasion if you decide to support us.

Our forces are currently being mobilised and will be just outside of Tropicarno waters by 18.00 GMT, we begin our invasion when the Anglo-Saxon forces arrive and will support you as much as we can while still leaving enough troops in the Federation to maintain a decent defence.

The following is the offer that Tropicarno made to the Federation:

We would like access to the oil field and a share of the profits. This is a optional agreement but if the Anglo-Saxons agree then the Federation would be more likely to commit more assets if they are needed.

Sholud we be given commercial privileges in conquered territory

WE are ready to provide a total of 750,000 soldier, 1500 aircraft 372 copters , 2000 tanks 5000 IFVs, 12000 SPAs and 1500 special forces.

p.s this numbers will increase and details will be given should we reach an agreement
