Game of Chess-IC

The world in which we live is complex to say the least. In Asia we find tensions at a near boiling point over the South China Sea and North Korea's relentless missile and nuclear bomb tests that have the whole world watching in gut wrenching anticipation. In Europe the EU is still reeling from the Brexit vote and rise of Euroskepticism across the continent. In Eastern Europe nations remain fearful of Russian expansion after the annexation of Crimea in 2014 and civil war in Ukraine. In the Middle East tension run high as Iran is accused of breaking the Iran Deal, the Israel-Palestinian conflict rages on, ISIS spreads, and Syria is engulfed in a civil war. In Africa nations trudge towards progress and better living conditions for their citizens while some parts are lawless and face terrorists and war lords. In South America we see the nation of Venezuela in near collapse as thousands flee to neighboring nations and the government clamps down on any opposition while the people are reduced to eating pets or starving. In North America the nation of Mexico faces corruption in the government and the citizens live in fear of the Cartels. In the USA racial tensions are at a high and the two political spectrum seem farther apart than ever before. This is the world we live in. And for the leaders of the nations of the world, this is the game they play. A game where every move matters in the end. Just. Like. Chess.

You will take control of a real nation in the world. Your job is simple. Lead your nation to greatness or to utter ruin. The choice is yours. Diplomacy, war, policy, deals, all up to you. Are you ready to play this game of chess?

January, 20th 2017

"Chief Justice Roberts, President Carter, President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, fellow Americans, and people of the world: thank you.

We, the citizens of America, are now joined in a great national effort to rebuild our country and to restore its promise for all of our people.

Together, we will determine the course of America and the world for years to come.

We will face challenges. We will confront hardships. But we will get the job done.

Every four years, we gather on these steps to carry out the orderly and peaceful transfer of power, and we are grateful to President Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama for their gracious aid throughout this transition. They have been magnificent.

Today’s ceremony, however, has very special meaning. Because today we are not merely transferring power from one Administration to another, or from one party to another – but we are transferring power from Washington, D.C. and giving it back to you, the American People.

For too long, a small group in our nation’s Capital has reaped the rewards of government while the people have borne the cost.

Washington flourished – but the people did not share in its wealth.

Politicians prospered – but the jobs left, and the factories closed.

The establishment protected itself, but not the citizens of our country.

Their victories have not been your victories; their triumphs have not been your triumphs; and while they celebrated in our nation’s Capital, there was little to celebrate for struggling families all across our land.

That all changes – starting right here, and right now, because this moment is your moment: it belongs to you.

It belongs to everyone gathered here today and everyone watching all across America.

This is your day. This is your celebration.

And this, the United States of America, is your country.

What truly matters is not which party controls our government, but whether our government is controlled by the people.

January 20th 2017, will be remembered as the day the people became the rulers of this nation again.

The forgotten men and women of our country will be forgotten no longer.

Everyone is listening to you now.

You came by the tens of millions to become part of a historic movement the likes of which the world has never seen before.

At the center of this movement is a crucial conviction: that a nation exists to serve its citizens.

Americans want great schools for their children, safe neighborhoods for their families, and good jobs for themselves.

These are the just and reasonable demands of a righteous public.

But for too many of our citizens, a different reality exists: Mothers and children trapped in poverty in our inner cities; rusted-out factories scattered like tombstones across the landscape of our nation; an education system, flush with cash, but which leaves our young and beautiful students deprived of knowledge; and the crime and gangs and drugs that have stolen too many lives and robbed our country of so much unrealized potential.

This American carnage stops right here and stops right now.

We are one nation – and their pain is our pain. Their dreams are our dreams; and their success will be our success. We share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny.

The oath of office I take today is an oath of allegiance to all Americans.

For many decades, we’ve enriched foreign industry at the expense of American industry;

Subsidized the armies of other countries while allowing for the very sad depletion of our military;

We've defended other nation’s borders while refusing to defend our own;

And spent trillions of dollars overseas while America's infrastructure has fallen into disrepair and decay.

We’ve made other countries rich while the wealth, strength, and confidence of our country has disappeared over the horizon.

One by one, the factories shuttered and left our shores, with not even a thought about the millions upon millions of American workers left behind.

The wealth of our middle class has been ripped from their homes and then redistributed across the entire world.

But that is the past. And now we are looking only to the future.

We assembled here today are issuing a new decree to be heard in every city, in every foreign capital, and in every hall of power.

From this day forward, a new vision will govern our land.

From this moment on, it’s going to be America First.

Every decision on trade, on taxes, on immigration, on foreign affairs, will be made to benefit American workers and American families.

We must protect our borders from the ravages of other countries making our products, stealing our companies, and destroying our jobs. Protection will lead to great prosperity and strength.

I will fight for you with every breath in my body – and I will never, ever let you down.

America will start winning again, winning like never before.

We will bring back our jobs. We will bring back our borders. We will bring back our wealth. And we will bring back our dreams.

We will build new roads, and highways, and bridges, and airports, and tunnels, and railways all across our wonderful nation.

We will get our people off of welfare and back to work – rebuilding our country with American hands and American labor.

We will follow two simple rules: Buy American and Hire American.

We will seek friendship and goodwill with the nations of the world – but we do so with the understanding that it is the right of all nations to put their own interests first.

We do not seek to impose our way of life on anyone, but rather to let it shine as an example for everyone to follow.

We will reinforce old alliances and form new ones – and unite the civilized world against Radical Islamic Terrorism, which we will eradicate completely from the face of the Earth.

At the bedrock of our politics will be a total allegiance to the United States of America, and through our loyalty to our country, we will rediscover our loyalty to each other.

When you open your heart to patriotism, there is no room for prejudice.

The Bible tells us, “how good and pleasant it is when God’s people live together in unity.”

We must speak our minds openly, debate our disagreements honestly, but always pursue solidarity.

When America is united, America is totally unstoppable.

There should be no fear – we are protected, and we will always be protected.

We will be protected by the great men and women of our military and law enforcement and, most importantly, we are protected by God.

Finally, we must think big and dream even bigger.

In America, we understand that a nation is only living as long as it is striving.

We will no longer accept politicians who are all talk and no action – constantly complaining but never doing anything about it.

The time for empty talk is over.

Now arrives the hour of action.

Do not let anyone tell you it cannot be done. No challenge can match the heart and fight and spirit of America.

We will not fail. Our country will thrive and prosper again.

We stand at the birth of a new millennium, ready to unlock the mysteries of space, to free the Earth from the miseries of disease, and to harness the energies, industries and technologies of tomorrow.

A new national pride will stir our souls, lift our sights, and heal our divisions.

It is time to remember that old wisdom our soldiers will never forget: that whether we are black or brown or white, we all bleed the same red blood of patriots, we all enjoy the same glorious freedoms, and we all salute the same great American Flag.

And whether a child is born in the urban sprawl of Detroit or the windswept plains of Nebraska, they look up at the same night sky, they fill their heart with the same dreams, and they are infused with the breath of life by the same almighty Creator.

So to all Americans, in every city near and far, small and large, from mountain to mountain, and from ocean to ocean, hear these words:

You will never be ignored again.

Your voice, your hopes, and your dreams, will define our American destiny. And your courage and goodness and love will forever guide us along the way.

Together, We Will Make America Strong Again.

We Will Make America Wealthy Again.

We Will Make America Proud Again.

We Will Make America Safe Again.

And, Yes, Together, We Will Make America Great Again. Thank you, God Bless You, And God Bless America."

Moments before Brandon had taken the oath and officially became President. Now after his inaugural address he went inside to enjoy a luncheon with members of Congress. Following that was the parade and several inaugural balls before he could finally rest in his new home. The White House.

Sitting in the Oval Office he took some time to relish in the victory he had achieved and to appreciate the history that surrounded him. Strange to think he had gone from a high school history teacher to the most powerful man in the world in a matter of about a decade.

Pushing these thoughts away he stood up and went to bed prepared for tomorrow. In all honest he was most excited to speak with his first world leader.

Ankara, Turkey

Şukri Badem looked out over the capital of his nation and saw it being cleansed of all that is wrong. He had ordered the police and military to arrest all opposing members of the National Assembly, he had ordered the internet to be taken down. Regardless things were not going smoothly, although the National Assembly had been suitably restrained pro-democracy protesters were filling the streets. Luckily his own supporters were already out in the streets counter-protesting. Sadly some of his forces in the east, near the Caucasus Mountains had been out of contact since his revolution, hopefully, they would not try to oppose him. Turkey would be made great again.

Vladimir Putin brooded, he was the leader of the Russian Federation, the largest nation in the world, and soon to be the most powerful.
He would restore the motherland to her former glory.
He would bring the Baltic back into the fold.
He would be the first to embrace the Ukrainians when they re joined.
He will be the one to bring back the glorious Soviet Union.

National TV broadcast, Latvia
Good evening, tonight in a political move, President Vējonis has attended a celebration commemorating the Latvian SS divisions that served alongside the Germans in the second world war. Many foreigners believe that this will cause an increase in nationalism among the youth who have turned up to greet the members of the former Waffen SS soldiers. President Vejonis said this the screen blacks out for a second before the President appears. "I see no reason why these Latvian heroes should be denied the honor of being among our celebrated veterans. They fought the Bolshevik menace that ruled over our lands, they fought bravely to defend our homeland. Why should we deny them our commemoration for their actions? These anti-fascists that protest are no more than thugs attacking old men who were and are braver than they ever will be." The screen flashed back to the reporter "Many are questioning the Presidents action while many praise him for his support of nationalism and for the reforms he is implementing. Only time will tell what the result will be"
Oswald Mosley had the right idea.

Skies over Ankara

A lone F-4 Phantom shatters the skies over Ankara, loaded with 500-pound bombs. Two F-16Cs follow close behind. A radio message screams out into the darkness "F-4 Phantom, divert course and land immediately" it does not head the warning. Suddenly, over the skies of a pro-government news building, the F-4 is suddenly 1000 pounds lighter. The other F-16 switches to heat-seeking mode.

"Fox-2"

Ankara

Two bombs were dropped on a pro-government news building, approximately 20 civilians were killed and countless injuries were reported. The lone plane was shot down by a Turkish Air Force F-16. Luckily the plane itself crashed in an uninhabited area. However, the violence in the city itself continues.

The Federal Republic of GermanyImage

Berlin, Berlin, Germany

Ursula raised her fist to the sky.

"Für die Freiheit, für die Sicherheit und für die Menschen. Deutschland für immer!"

The military band struck up another song as Ursula waved one last time to the crowds of people before turning around and walking back into the Bundestag. Once inside, she took a deep breathe and sat down, looking over at one of her closest advisors, Hans Gluckner. " Those things exhaust me, truly they do." Hans cracked a smile and leaned back in his chair. " You're not finished yet Frau Chancellor. There's a few reports you must look over." Hans handed her a sheet of paper.

Ursula took it and looked over it quickly before peering over the paper her advisor. " This isn't real is it?" Hans nodded gravely. Ursula put her hand on her forehead and sighed. " Great. Now we're going to be called fucking Neo-Nazis and supporters of Hitler. The Second World War never seems to go away, does it? Just as soon as I think I'll Stop being called a damn Nazi, this happens. Now the communists in Bremen will never stop protesting. Tell Mueller and the foreign ministry to release a statement in this. " Hans nodded and Ursula crumpled up the paper and threw it as far as she could, to the sounds of cheering and "Das Deutschlandid" in the background.

Latvia's Ceremony on Dedicating former SS members to positions of honor

Latvia's recent decision to to commentate the former Latvian SS to positions of honor does not stand with Germany's beliefs. The Federal Republic heavily condemns the decision and asks for an immediate apology from Latvia to Europe as well as the rest of the world. Such forms of utter political distaste and the honoring of the flat rascist ideals of the Waffen-SS do not belong in Germany, Europe, or any part of this world. Germany, once again, condemns this action heavily. Any criticism on Germany over this decision will be delivered wrongly. An immediate apology is expected from Latvia concerning this issue.

Signed

Presidents office, Latvia

Mr. President! We've received a message from the Germans as he took the note and he looked it over he grimaced. This was bad. The Germans were becoming even more tyrannical in their censorship. They were now demanding an apology from Latvia for commemorating the SS veterans. This is Latvia. Not Germany. The Germans do not dictate our own internal policy to us. The EU is not their own personal dictatorship. We will proceed with the parade as planned. Prepare this message. He handed her a transcript as she nodded and delivered it to be messaged to the German Chancellor.

Image
To: Foreign Minister Dietrich Mueller

From: President Vējonis
Greetings minister, To cut to the point we refuse to apologize. This is Latvian soldiers we are commemorating. On Latvian land within our borders. Not German borders. Your government does not run Latvia in the same way my government does not run Germany. They are our veterans and we will honor them. Just because Germany is ashamed of their veterans does not mean Latvia will be.

News report,
Today the President has requested to join the Visegrad coalition. After his refusal to accept German demands it is clear he is trying to ally with like-minded people in Europe. We can only hope his efforts will come to fruition.
Oswald Mosley had the right idea.

Prime Minster Modi steps onto the shining balcony, ready to address the crowd of a few hundred.

Image

He gives a quick smile, and a quick salute to the servicemen next to him and in the crowd, and as he fingers the paper, he flashes a smile to everyone below him in the crowd.

"लाट्विया ने जर्मनी को क्या किया है? कुछ भी नहीं, उन्हें अपने देश में जो करना चाहते हैं, उन्हें सक्षम होना चाहिए, जर्मनों को उनके गिरते सैनिकों को सलामी देने से रोकने का अधिकार नहीं है।"
("What has Latvia done to Germany? Nothing, they should be able to do what they want in their nation, the Germans have no right to stop them from giving a salute to their servicemen."), he speaks as the people cheer him on. He doesn't want to be categorized as a neo-nazi, so he also says this:

"मैं पूरी तरह नाजवाद की निंदा करता हूं, यह एक अच्छी विचारधारा नहीं है।
(I do, however, condemn nazism as a whole, it is not a good ideology.)" He says, to settle down the anti-nazis in the country. He steps back inside to the sound of people cheering and he mutters to himself.

"Ugh, why do the Germans have to act in such a bad way, can't they stop nosing out of other's business?" he mutters to himself again, maybe a bit too loud.

"What, sir?" a young aide asks as he steps into the hall.

"Nothing." he quickly retorts as he rushes down the hall to meet with the president on the matter at hand.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES

As the President of the United States of America I cannot condone the celebration of Latvian Nazi Soldiers however I do support Latvia’s right to honor their soldiers so long as they do not, at the same time, honor their Nazi viewpoints. I believe both Germany and Latvia have valid points and that a good compromise would be simply honoring their service and not their Nazi affiliation.

German Official Response

" Due to unfortunate circumstances, the Federal Republic of Germany has announced sanctions on the Republic of Latvia, for an indefinite period of time, this sanctions are due to the fact that Latvia has openly embraced the National Socialist Party and the monsters that served it in the 1930s and 40s. Until Latvia apologizes to the world for these actions, these measures will stay in place.

Speech of the President

"We harshly condemn the sanctions on Latvia. While I condemned Nazism earlier this week, their sanctions are ridiculous, and we will be harshly condemning the rash and silly actions of their government.

Next, on to less childish matters, we will be building ports on islands around us and willing nations to strengthen trade in the many oceans of the world.

Thank you, goodbye."

People flood onto the islands and begin to build with contracts with the government using materials already found and placed by Indian officials, making ports and infrastructure, to let India control the Indian Ocean trade routes.

In the Far East, the German-Latvian bickering was far from an issue. Partially because here, it was the Imperial Japanese that played the Nazis' role of history's greatest villains, and partially because of one nation's seemingly eternal struggle for survival in a hostile world. The nation in question was none other than the Democratic People's Republic of Korea, or as it was usually called, North Korea. Since a few years, this closed, isolated and totalitarian state was led by a man named Kim Du-Ri. His grandfather and father had been the undisputed leaders before him, despite the fact that North Korea wasn't a hereditary monarchy. However, many things about North Korea was different from in most other countries.

One of those things, that Kim Du-Ri was proud of, was that his nation was one of few that didn't suck up to America. However, he wasn't content with leaving it at that. China was the big boss in the area, but Kim had no intention to be Beijing's lapdog either. And while he of course dreamed about a Korean reunification, he wasn't so delusional that he expected it to happen anytime soon. There were simply to many obstacles, and while he would be the first to cheer if those obstacles were overcome, he wasn't the kind of leader who would sacrifice his own people in vain, in a hopeless attempt to tear them down.

No, Kim Du-Ri's goals were simple, and they were very similar to any leader's goals. Economic growth, secured sovereignity and independence, maybe a little more international recognitition and respect, and, of course, to remain in power. Just as Western leaders. Only a hypocrit would deny the last part, but then again, if there was anything he had learned from his school years in Switzerland, it was how hypocracy prevailed in the West.

In order to achieve his goals, Kim planned to make several reforms. Some broad, some more specific. China was an inspiration to him here, even if he at the same time despised Chinese influence on the peninsula. But he couldn't get away from the fact that China was North Korea's only ally, and that the powerful neighbour had become even more powerful after moving away from Maoism, liberalising the economy, and become a nuclear power. As he saw it, that's exactly what he had to do. Sure, the cult of personality was flattering at times, but the Juche ideology had certain flaws, just as Communism had its flaws before that. He intended to turn those flaws into strengths.

The United States would of course disapprove of anyone but themselves aquiring nukes, but in this mad world, North Korea needed that kind of deterrant. Khadaffi and Saddam Hussein had abandoned their nuclear programs, and they had been toppled. And no one, not in the north, the south, or in China, would win on a collapsed regime in Pyongyang, but the imperialist Yankees, safe on the other side of the Pacific would of course like it, and with a new, unpredictable president in Washington, Du-Ri couldn't afford to sit still.

OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE FROM THE DESK OF THE PRESIDENT

I am officially denouncing Germany’s harsh and uncalled for actions in regards to Lithuania. While I nor anyone condone the Nazi Party, it’s ideology, or its actions it is a stretch to call every soldier that served in the German military during Hitler’s reign, a monster. In addition they took this course of action without even attempting to create dialogue between themselves and Latvia. I urge both parties to create a dialogue and work this out peacefully and call for Germany to end its sanctions immediately on Latvia.

Washington D.C.

Kiser stood on the steps of the capital as the military parade marched by. He had ordered one to be done in front of live TV as a way to project strength to the world. Under him the US would not be weak. He smiled and saluted as a group of Marines marched by.

To: North Korea
From: The United States of America

In order to secure peace on the Korean Peninsula and in the world President Kiser wishes to meet with Supreme Leader Kim in Pyongyang at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson

It had been a busy week for Kim Du-Ri. He had assembled the party officials and officers that were involved in illicit activities, and given them an offer they couldn't refuse, much like Putin had done with the Russian oligarchs 15 years ago. Kim knew that with the many sanctions against North Korea, criminal activities such as illegal drug trade was a necessary evil in order to make money and get foreign currency, but he had given the men assembled an ultimatum. Their past sins would be forgiven, provided that they swore eternal loyalty to him, and from now on didn't used their business for personal gain, but for the well of the country. Most of them had obliged, and no one had outright spoken against him. However, some of the older men who saw Kim as an unproven, weak puppy, had come with excuses, and it was obvious that they would continue as before. Kim had of course ordered their arrest, and a few days later they had been executed. Their families had however been spared. Kim had motivated that unusual measure by saying that he of course would be brutal against his enemies, but that those who couldn't help that their husband or father had been a criminal from now on would be shown mercy when they weren't complicit.

Another important reform was the complete legalization of small-scale capitalism, such as town markets. They had previously only been semi-legal but still tolerated by the police. Bigger companies remained illegal, but state-owned companies was given more freedom. As a dictator, Kim could do that, but he still had to sell it to the Presidium, and he had managed to do so by references to Vladimir Lenin and his New Economic Policy of the 1920s. He had also said that this was a temporary reform, that would be evaluated after time and be scrapped if ineffective, but he had on purpose not set an exact date. "We can decide that later", Du-Ri said.

Another thing he had done was to approach the Chinese about stricter border control to counter illegal migration and the criminal activities that followed (One such thing was hungry North Korean soldiers robbing Chinese stores, a reminder that the nation still hadn't fully recovered from the famine in the 1990s. Another such thing was human trafficking, something that wasn't even an existing problem ackording to official statements by North Korea, but something Kim recently had gotten his eyes opened for thanks to one of his girlfriends. She had been a victim of it herself not too long before she had met Kim Du-Ri.). So far, it seemed the Chinese were onboard with the idea.

Then, something amazing had happened.

In order to secure peace on the Korean Peninsula and in the world President Kiser wishes to meet with Supreme Leader Kim in Pyongyang at your earliest convenience.

Sincerely,
Secretary of State Rex Tillerson

These news were only topped by the fact that Mrs Kim was pregnant with twins! It was bigger than Nixon's visit to China in the 1970s! This could be a new start for the relationship between the two old archenemies, and it was a chance for North Korea to be seen in a good light all over the world. Last but not least, it was a boost for Du-Ri's own ego. If he played his cards right, he would also make DPRK an important partner in the region. The North Koreans didn't expect much actual result from this meeting, but it would definitely still be good publicity. The North would rise again!

To: The United States of America
From: The Democratic People's Republic of Korea

President Kiser is welcome to our great capital and glorious nation, provided that we may provide the security measures, apart from the President's own personal body guards. A month from now is a good date from our perspective.

Sincerely,
Minister of Foreign Affairs Ri Yong-ho

Kim's only worry was that hard-liners or renegades would try to sabotage the meeting. Safety had to be on top. Especially since the Americans after all maybe only did this as a part of some kind of trick...

Official Government Statement in regard to Comments made by US President Kiser and the Indian President

President Kiser very obviously has been misinformed by his administration by judging his words this week. The Deutsch Republik placed sanctions on Latvia because if their honoring for former Schutzstaffel troops. Just in case the American administration needs a history lesson on the Schutzstaffel, they were a paramilitary group that served only the Party. No, it is not a stretch to call the Scutzstaffel all monsters, as they all were. The German Republic never mentioned the forces of the Wehrmacht, the true German forces of WWII. So, I personally would ask that President Kiser waits to know all the information before making a statement. Germany will no longer bow down to American power. Germany serves her people. Germany serves Europe.

The German sanctions of Latvia will continue.

Pyongyang Airport was closed to all other traffic this day. With all the last minute preparations for the US president's arrival, it had been necessary, especially since it had been a very short time to prepare his arrival at all. Kim Du-Ri had asked for a month, but the Americans had given him a week. He had reluctantly agreed, but only since this was a historic meeting, and this wasn't the time to argue. He still worried that Washington would take it as a sign of weakness from him, but not as much as he feared that an assassin would try to attack him and his trans-Pacific colleague. Not that there was any basis for his worry, in the past week the police had rounded up all suspected subversives, and the army had been visible on the streets. The soldiers were here on the airport now, dressed in their fanciest uniforms. This was a cause for celebration, and a parade was needed. However, Kim was considerat enough to his guest to only display the fighting men and women and the occassional tank, not any missiles. This was a meeting for peace, and North Korean media reported it as a triumph for Kim Du-Ri, who finally had mad the Americans listen to the Korean people.

As the Air Force 1 landed, a children's choir sang the national anthem of the DPRK, while giant posters of Kim Du-Ri and Brandon Kiser adorned the site. Posters of the previous North Korean leaders had purposfully been avoided. Awaiting the Americans were Kim Du-Ri himself, in dress uniform, Ri Yong-ho, the foreign minister, also in uniform, and Kim's wife, Bae Ara. Instead of a dress she was also wearing a uniform, not the one of the armed forces, but her traffic cop uniform. Du-Ri, who had a fetish for uniforms, had insisted on it. He had said that it enhanced her beuty, and would impress president Kiser. Flattered, she had agreed.

Now the three of them waited in silence as their anthem played, in anticipation for Brandon Kiser. Was he a peacemaker or not? North Korean intel hadn't been able to find out much about him, so this meeting was in a way a shot in the dark.

Pyongyang
President Kiser

Kiser and his wife exited the door of Air Force One and waved before going down the stairs and saluting the USAF officers at the bottom. Then they made their way to Kim, his wife, and the North Korean delegation. Kiser was nervous. He had worn a standard black suit with a bold red tie and an American pin on his lapel while his wife was wearing a black skirt and white blouse. Shaking Kim’s hand Kiser said “Its nice to finally meet you face to face Mr. Kim.”

They all shook hands under the North Korean flags flying in the wind, while the orchestra played patriotic hymns. Neither Kim, his wife, or his minister allowed themselves to show that they were just as nervous as Kiser.

"It's a pleasure meeting you too, Mr President", the Supreme Leader replied his guest. He then gestured to a black limousines, the Kiser's own which had pulled up, and Kim's limo in front of it, that would take them to the Ryongsong Residence, Kim's main palace, where the meeting would be held. They hadn't planned for the US president to speak to the people, since that was a huge risk when they didn't know what he would say. There was also the fact that North Korea and the United States officially still were at war, so his visit couldn't be celebrated too much. However, if Kiser would like, they were ready to show him some sights and beautiful places, after the banquet which was to be held, and the official meeting.

The two chauffeurs held up their respective doors. "Shall we?", Kim said, smiling.

Pyongyang

Kiser smiled and nodded before helping his wife into the limo before he followed. Then the secret service agent closed the door and the two limos pulled away with Kim in the lead. Kiser looked out around him and smiled with a slight chuckle. He could see muscular men in the green fields. It gave an appearance that everything in the North was all right and it did a convincing job except for that fact everyone knew the truth and Kiser had looked at barren fields on a satellite image that morning. Kiser leaned back as they made their way from the semi-rural area into Pyongyang proper.

With the privacy in the limo, Kim allowed himself to be exactly that, and dared to show sides of himself that he never would flaunt for the public eye. One such side was self-doubt.

"What if this whole thing is a big mistake?" he asked his wife and the minister beside him. "It's not unlikely that Kiser only is doing this to force us to bow down to America's will, and threaten us with even further sanctions tha will weaken or people, if we don't oblige. We don't know much about him. He could very well be crazy enough to threaten to nuke us, while at the same time too coward to say it in front of the cameras..."

His wife Ara stopped him by putting her hand on his arm, and with a reassuring smile tell him that he worried too much. Ri Yong-ho told him that all his concerns, and other possibilities, had been calculated for. He agreed that they shouldn't hope for too much, that it was unlikely that the bilateral relations would detoriate further. But if things went south, the nation and its people were more than ready. Victory wouldn't come cheap for the filthy Western imperialists.

Kim nodded and calmed down. In his heart, he knew that both of them was right.

After a couple of minutes, the limo stopped in front of the Ryongsong Residence. Honour guards were there to greet them, and another military orchestra was playing another patriotic hymn. Well, it really depended on how you defined "patriotic hymn". It was really a cover of the "America - Fuck Yeah!" song from the movie "Team America", which made fun of both the US and the DPRK. Kim couldn't help but snicker as he stepped out of the vehicle. Would Brandon Kiser recognize the song? What would he think?

The choice of music had of course been Kim Du-Ri's own.

Brandon Kiser
North Korea

President Kiser and his wife stepped out of the limo. Hearing the song playing Kiser couldn’t help but smile. Team America was one of his favorite movies to laugh at. Continuing inside he followed the North Koreans into a large meeting room where he found his seat on one side of the table. Soon his delegation joined him.

Supreme Leader Kim Du-Ri and his delegation sat down on the other side of the table. This was just the warm up. The real talks would take place between Kim and Kiser alone, apart from two bodyguards each who also would be present of course. What happened now was more like a business lunch, and after a sign from Kim to a discrete waiter near the wall, traditional Korean dishes were brought in. Nothing too fancy (they wanted to avoid Kiser coming home to talk about how the elite reveled in luxury while the people practically had to starve - as if there weren't homeless people in the US, when the fat cats in Wall Street and Hollywood overate everyday! At least Kim was physically very fit, unlike his brother, who had been ridiculed worldwide for his pig-like features, so they ouldn't use Du-Ri's own looks for their anti-Korean propaganda), but nothing too shabby either. In short, a good meal for two leaders to bond over. Refreshments would be served afterwards.

Kim welcomed Kiser again, asked him to enjoy the food, and told him how surprised he had been to hear the president's suggestion for talks.
