Welcome to the Rogue Nation's General Election! This vote is open to all expatriates abroad and our citizens. These are the Parties and their leaders:

Sarah VanCamp - Communist Party

She is the founder of the Nation and the current prime minister. She stands for militarization, worker's rights, higher taxes and civil rights for all people.

David Burns - Corporate Party

He is a former big bank executive. Stands for lower taxes, militarization, anti-gay, for deregulation on businesses, rewrite the Constitution completely to eliminate a communist system.

Nina Davis - Green Party

Professor of environmental economics. Is pro-environmental regulations, civil rights, anti-war

Deepika Ray - Conservative Party

Current MP. Pro-war, pro-business, anti-LGBTQ, lower taxes, cut down on government, stay as the Rogue Nation, just amend the constitution to create a capitalist society.

IC: Why did Sarah VanCamp schism from the Democratic Socialist States of Jiyon to form New Jiyon? Did she feel that DSSJ was not left-wing enough? It can't be because of democracy, since she leads the country, she's a member of the Communist Party but there are still elections. Poor relations might be a cause, but not definite as the DSSJ's leader has obviously chipped in with his opinion (see above post by Jiyon).

The New Jiyon Gazette: Interview with Prime Minister VanCamp

Sarah VanCamp, in the midst of a General Election, joins us today to tell us about her feelings about why she does not have the support by her citizens that she used to. Of course, it's still early to make predictions in this election, as we only have elected 15 MPs, but her Communist Party is losing, having only 2 MP's so far. Read on for her thoughts:



New Jiyon Gazette: Ms. VanCamp, thanks for joining us.
Sarah VanCamp: Thank you.
NJG: What are you feeling in reaction to the current results flowing in and that shocking exit poll predicting a Conservative win?
VanCamp: Honestly, what anyone would feel; disbelief. Irritation. You know, after all the hard work I put in to forming this new country, governing it, setting up an electoral system...its shocking and a letdown.
NJG: What about the current endorsements coming from international leaders, like President Chatterjee of the USSJ?
VanCamp: Yeah... I sort of was expecting his douchey move to endorse Green, he's just like that. Lives by his "values," like peace and that kinda bs, you know. I don't pay too much attention to those people. I mean, he's from the USSJ Socialist Party and endorsed the Greens here. It makes no sense.
NJG: But he said it was because of your non-peaceful agenda?
VanCamp: Yeah, his pacifism doesn't make any sense either.
NJG: Nina Davis, Green leader, stated she would be willing to create a coalition with the Communist Party to defeat the Conservatives. Your thoughts?
VanCamp: No deals, no talks, no coalition.
NJG: And finally, what do you feel about the fact that the Green Party is willing to rejoin the USSJ?
VanCamp: Its despicable, and insulting to all of the people of this great Nation, and to my hard work. I won't let it happen.

IC 1) You are absolutely correct. VanCamp believed the USSJ was being too moderate on issues like war, and, to an extent, taxation, so she opted to secede from the country.
IC 2) The Corporate Party believes in a complete rewrite of the Rogue Nation's Constitution to completely eliminate communist ideologies. The Conservatives just want to amend it to eventually form a capitalist society.

BREAKING NEWS, UPDATE:

Extreme violence has broken out as thousands of Imperialist, capitalist rebels have slaughtered citizens, government officials and army members in the streets of New Jiyon. They have seceded from New Jiyon and are holding out in Froya, a state of New Jiyon. Prime Minister VanCamp has refused to declare a state of emergency mid-election, drawing much criticism from strained citizens. The Rebels are calling themselves the Hawks Resistance, after their leader, self declared Supreme Emperor Ethan Hawks. Prime Minsiter VanCamp has announced she will let this issue go, deciding not to declare war on this new nation. Shocking, due to her tendency to easily declare war.

Prime Minister VanCamp has announced that she has reduced the members of parliament being elected from 200 to 100 due to tensions rising with the Hawks Empire. This means the election will end early, with most predictors, betters and and scholars unanimously accepting that Deepika Ray will be the new Prime Minister.

DECLARED WIN!!! The Conservatives have already won with 54 MPs, and votes still coming in. Deepika Ray, our new Prime Minister, has just been sworn in as our second Prime Minister in Parliament. She's steeping up to the stage to give her inaugural speech, here it is:

"Ladies and Gentlemen of New Jiyon,

For too long, all of you have been ignored. For too long, you have had to live under the severe oppression of Prime Minister VanCamp. But no longer. I hereby accept the position of Prime Minister of the Rogue Nation of New Jiyon, to ensure a better, safer and wealthier nation.

In this speech, I shall pass my first executive action. I henceforth ban the filth that is Communism, by which I mean any Communists seen in this country shall be jailed or executed. I sentence Sarah VanCamp to death, as well as banish her entire cabinet to go live in some other filthy Socialist nation; if the ever return, they will also deal with execution by being stabbed repeatedly, which is what awaits VanCamp. For too long have we been lenient with the United Socialist States of Jiyon. We shall deal with them and President Chatterjee subsequently. All press, henceforth, must view my Administration in a positive light, or face the consequences.

I also will completely redesign the role of Prime Minister. Parliament will not vote on bills I approve of. I will have the final say in the passage of a bill, whether or not it passes parliament. I will deploy the military on the streets to ensure that no one gets away with breaking our law. I also hereby decree that elections for governor, mayor, or any other executive leader for a state or city is outlawed. I will appoint those officers. Anyone who disagrees with this decree may deal with my military.

Finally, I declare myself Dictator for life. You will refer to me as the Supreme Mother. This may come as a drastic change for all of you citizens, but I promise you, it is only for your good. As I have stated above, anyone with opposing views may deal with the army's guns.
