My "Commonwealth" FT roleplay persona is inspired by elements of the United States, the United Kingdom, the People's Republic of China, Nigeria, the United Arab Emirates, and Australia. It also takes inspiration from the fictional Intersolar Commonwealth from Peter F. Hamilton's Commonwealth Saga and the Confederation from The Night's Dawn Trilogy by the same author, as well as the UNSC from Halo and the Systems Alliance from Mass Effect.

My "Vantage" MT/PMT roleplay persona, which I use in my home region, DC9, is based much more tightly on Russia, Hong Kong and the United States, albeit with elements of New Crobuzon from China Mieville's Perdido Street Station.

Originally we were simply supposed to be a Asian city-state like Hong Kong, Macau, or Singapore. However to make things more interesting, we've added elements such as South Korea's economic and infrastructure development, even though it isn't a city-state, it is almost like one, with almost the entire country being urbanized, only a few areas such as mountains or forests and minor islands being not urbanized, and the diversity of South Africa (We have several main groups in our country, British and Portuguese Europeans, Arabs, Indians, Chinese, Malay, and Indonesian, 9 official languages, and being a former part British and part Portuguese colony.) As well as the politics of India, the U.K, and South Africa, there being a huge number of political parties, a Westminster inspired parliament, and a political history that went from an independent country without much development, to being colonized by two European powers (SA got the Dutch and British, we got the Portuguese and the Bitch), independence, a period of political unrest and segregation (Europeans and Chinese getting preferential treatment, the Arabs Indians Malays and Indonesians being marginalized), and a new period of tolerance and new developments, with some major issues being tackled, but the country remains diverse and despite issues is thriving and has a developing new economy and middle class (like China, Vietnam, South Korea after economic reforms)

I use other nations than this one more now, and I'm in the process of re-writing a lot of canon for Arachaea, but much of its influences come from places such as Scotland, Ireland, Norway, Denmark and Iceland.

There are also some aspects of Arachaea which don't line up with any real life nation, such as the fact that while it has a monarchy, this monarchy is elected by the populace for life and serves as a mere figurehead.

Its economic policy is a mixture of Nordic social democracy, French dirigisme and market socialism.

Mostly the UK and Singapore, from it's transport system to the road textures, signage (especially the ones used in the motorway network) and TV system (yes, PAL-I). But in terms of measurements, we tend to follow Ireland since we fully adopt the metric system instead of the UK. The culture, however has a mix of Polish, Irish, Welsh and Scottish influence.

My nation is based on Ancient Prussia - Before they were even Germanic. Basically all the lore surrounds the idea that the Teutonic Order never came to the baltics, so the Pagans formed their own nation before they could be conquered by the Catholic Germans, or the Catholic Poles.
