Prince Regent Jason’s statement on the ethnic cleansing in al-Qarn

The United Kingdom of Jaslandia thoroughly condemns the horrific ethnic cleansing and other atrocities recently perpetrated in Tadjoura, al-Qarn. Such barbaric acts are unbefitting of a civilized society, and we wish President Graziano and his administration the best of luck in bringing these criminals to justice!

However, these atrocities have shown me that Jaslandia has passively observed events in al-Qarn for too long, especially now that the Federal Government of al-Qarn has managed to gain effective control over much of the country; al-Qarn now has a government worth supporting and defending. Though al-Qarn and the Federal Government have made much progress over the past few years, these horrendous acts show there is still plenty of work to be done. That is why in the coming weeks, I will be talking extensively with President Graziano about affairs in al-Qarn, and what help Jaslandia could do and provide (be it humanitarian, diplomatic, or military aid) to support the legitimate Federal Government and to end the atrocities committed by local warlords and tribal leaders. It is my hope that these discussions will lead to a stronger and closer relationship between Jaslandia and al-Qarn, which can benefit both nations.

Interview with President Graziano: Handland & Jaslandia

RAMIREZ: Thank you for inviting me here in the Presidential Office today, Mr. President: I apologize if this was on a rather short notice

GRAZIANO: It's not an issue, and I wish to give thanks towards you and the NNS for broadcasting this to the general public.

RAMIREZ: Thank you, sir. Now, I wish to ask: what is your take on the recent scandal regarding the Republic of Handland and their gunrunning for the NST-S, particularly supplying them with artillery pieces and updated variants of the FAL?

GRAZIANO: Well, it was expected that, sooner or later, the Unified Security Forces would be able to track down the suspected runners, in particular after the NNS broadcasts of eyewitness accounts and the 6th Shield Force of the Ardayga, the latter of which I must thank you for: after we found the position, General Fujimori requested an FSB strike on the Ardayga camps near Gelinsoor - we had a confirmed kill for Hiroko Adachi and most of "Takashi's" command staff. Anyways, we figured that while the NST-S had better munitions, they would eventually fall to the Ardayga or the Southern Army, primarily due to their lack of international allies aside from Handland, and even then, it wasn't full-on support.

RAMIREZ: Interesting, now I wish to delve further: Just earlier today, Handland's DLBN-1 newscast station released a bulletin from their President, Hakon Pettifer, who stated that the "communist government" captured the soldiers and corvette responsible for the news breaking out, along with open support for the NST-S, even going so far as to state "We started this funding operation because we did not agree with the terms set in the original treaty," before concluding with a threat of war and the collapse of the Federal Government should the administration fail to return their soldiers.

[Graziano remains silent for a few moments, an intense look of rage on his face before leaning in and continuing]

GRAZIANO: I apologize for my lack of hearing, but could you repeat what he claimed, particularly the whole "communist government" accusation?

RAMIREZ: He stated that the Federal Government were holding the men and corvette hostage, under threat of war and the collapse of the Free State, along with openly avowing continued support for the NST-S.

GRAZIANO: Well, with all due respect to the President and to the nation of Handland, that is a load of horseshit. You see, I don't know if this President Pettifer has ever served in any branch of his nation's military, nor if he ever faced combat against an actual communist regime in Handland or internationally, but I have: I took up arms when I was only a teenager in the 1970s against Siad Barre's Democratic Republic, a communist regime that committed human rights abuses that make this civil war and Hordio seem like drops in a puddle. I doubt that Hakon's ever seen a re-education camp, forced labor camps, and executions in the streets every single day. And this prick dares to say that my current administration, this continuation of a democratic state, is comparable to a dictatorship of the highest order. President Pettifer, if your listening, let me educate you for a little bit: any state that isn't a right-wing ultranationalist militaristic state or at least willing to kiss up to Handland isn't a communist state. We're an elective democratic state that holds left and right-wing officials and seek balance and peace.

RAMIREZ: Sir, I apologize for interrupting, but what are your thoughts on the Handlandian soldiers being held, along with the continuation of support to the NST-S?

GRAZIANO: Ah yes: we have the men that were still alive from the assault - out of the 10 Handlandians sent, I am sad to admit that 4 of them died on the way there, 3 of them ironically due to members of the NST-S killing them in an ambush, and 1 due to dehydration on the way to Assab, primarily due to the lack of supplies on hand. We kept their bodies in a safe location and their personal effects at the AIA, and we're more than willing to confirm their fates with medical reports gathered by the Army Corps of Medicine. The remaining survivors are in safe hands, waiting to be returned to Handland, but the corvette and weapons were destroyed. I am more than willing to return them home: none of them are willing to defect here, and I doubt any community in al-Qarn are willing to take them in without grievously wounding them. As for the continued support of the NST-S, let me be clear: they are only erstwhile allies to your nation, Hakon: the NST-S is an isolationist military junta that will not give any support to Handland should they ever win. There are parts of it that actually resemble more of a communist dictatorship, and I doubt any of them actually see you as little more than supply runners. Let me make a resolute declaration: when the Southern Army takes all members of the NST, both the NST-S and NST-I, and Federal control is achieved in Nassau, I don't want to see any ships with Handlandian ensigns trying to run arms here. Consider any Handlandian craft persona non grata and their supplies destroy on sight.

RAMIREZ: Alright, now on a higher note, the United Kingdom of Jaslandia has issued a statement on the ethnic cleansing being committed in Tadjoura, in particular vowing to increase support after years of observing the events across the Red Sea without intervention.

GRAZIANO: Ah, yes: I can confirm that Prince Regent Jason sent me private correspondence regarding this, and I have agreed to allow Jaslandian military and humanitarian presence in al-Qarn, particularly in Tadjoura while we continue our talks with the government under Axan Shanet: military presence will be minimal, but residents in Tadjoura should expect to see extensive care from Jaslandia, regardless of ethnic identity. Additional support from al-Qarn will be made to help with the Jaslandian aid delegates, but we'll restrict military interactions to prevent any accidents between our forces and the Jaslandians. Any questions?

RAMIREZ: That appears to be it, Mr. President: thank you for your time.

GRAZIANO: No problem.

Anti-Handlandian riots break out
(Hordio) The security presence in heavy at the "Walled Village" of Hordio, famous for serving as the final conflict in the PLR intervention of al-Qarn and as the only part of the conflict with Handland in combat. A large fence has been built around the village with a gate allowing visitors into the village, while a platoon from the Army have been sent in place of the Puntland Dervish Force for security reasons.

Despite all of this, the platoon has been forced into the village as protesters have gathered in response to the DLBN broadcast from President Pettifer, mostly burning Handlandian flags and chanting anti-Handland slogans while attempting to enter the premises. While the protesters have not stated any demands, it is believed that they have converged to destroy the Peace Monument, a stone tablet with inscriptions of the casualties incurred by the Puntland, Tserran, and Handlandian forces that fought throughout the village, along with the Fatherland Flag, a Handlandian flag and note written by the commanding officer for the Handlandian force, Lt. Col. Tavin Vollmer: in dedication of all sides, the flag was encased and placed in the remnants of the town hall.

Despite months of fostering peace for all sides, the broadcast has brought back sentiments against Handland for their support of the PLR, disregarding the initial attack being on part of the Dervish Force. "Those bastards will pay," a protester screamed into the camera as another tore up an image of President Pettifer, "Down with the false President: we'll bring the war to them!"

Behind the fence, the soldiers have shown signs of weariness and seemingly hostile attitudes to the whole thing, "I haven't gotten any sleep in the past three days: we had to originally deal with pro-NST protesters trying to steal the guns on the Memorial, or at the least Puntland residents trying to exact 'vengeance' and burn the whole place down," Sgt. Platter, a three-year veteran of the campaigns against the Ardayga, stated as he kept his rifle up, occasionally sagging downwards, "That damned flag and memorial are the heart of it all: personally, President Pettifer can suck a fat one and choke on it, I just want to leave these goddamned ruins, and I'm telling you none of us here want to keep serving as the security detail for piles of rubble."

The PLRK Ministry of Foreign Affairs Declares Statement Pertaining to the Continual Civil War Situation in Somalia


The PLRK, ever since its resurgence into the international community, has remained rather non-interventionist and isolationist when it pertained to becoming involved in global conflicts both foreign and domestic. Fearing that PLRK intervention would spark comparisons of the new Kongo Federation to the days of Bogdan and Samson, the current administration has been hesitant on becoming active once more. However, it has been confirmed by the administration that the PLRK shall be adopting more of a strategic interventionist protocol in order to only participate in the resolution of global conflicts if only the Kongo benefits from the resolving of said situations. Pertaining to the civil war in Somalia, the Kongo administration has been watching very closely over the past couple weeks and finally decided to deliver a statement on the PLRK's view and decision on this matter. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Spokesman of the Office of the Presidency has granted this following statement:

"President Abimbola Fabrizio has closely examined the complexity of the unraveling situation that is occurring in the Somalian civil war and it is quite tragic that many deaths have occurred for both the right and wrong reasons. The longevity of the conflict continues to place a regional security risk for the African Contingent but most importantly, the prolonging of the Somalian war inevitably becomes a security threat to the territorial integrity and direct borders of the Kongo over time. Either because of migrants or emboldened Somali soldiers and citizens, the opportunities of creeping Somalis to our direction to cause chaos and havoc and no regard for the sanctity and purity of the Kongo becomes ever present as seconds go by and wasted. The window of action by the Kongo to resolve this conflict is slowly closing. It is a shame that no longer foreign power has sought to peacefully intervene within the conflict; therefore, it would only make sense to announce that President Abimbola Fabrizio has agreed to allow the PLRK to begin logistical planning of intervention within the Civil War and to furthermore, determine who is truly the victim and the instigator."

Such a statement has been declared the PLRK's global announcement of being ready for direct interventionism in regional conflicts. Having a history with Al-Qarn, one that is rather unsatisfactory, President Abimbola Fabrizio has decreed that "This Kongo's re-entry into Somalia is the last entry into Somalia...leaving unsuccessful is not an option"

Federal Government declares plan of action for planned PLR intervention
(Assab) The tension is heavy as the Federal Government meets once more with the press: following the Ramirez broadcast, the collective voices of the PLR's Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Spokesman of the Office of the Presidency, and President Abimbola Fabrizio announced their intentions to intervene in the al-Qarnan Civil War once more. At the podium, President Graziano and Vice-President Koresh delivered their statements to the delegations present/

"As was expected, the PLR is attempting to invade al-Qarn once more and interfere with our affairs: we had suspicions for the longest while, particularly with Presidents Akachi Chibuzo, Mosi Zuberi, and Vice President Masego Folami, but President Fabrizio confirms what we had expected from a state that continues to believe that whatever warped ideology it espouses is the model for all African nations.

Yet President Fabrizio must know this: al-Qarn is no longer the weakened state it was the year before - we've claimed most of our territory once more, we have the NST, whose collapse was a direct result of the first intervention, and the Ardayga on the ropes. The Akkaran rebels are currently expected to meet us once more for peace talks over the conflict in Tadjoura. Simply put, while we have graciously accepted the support of Jaslandia to assist us in the latter, we do not need this violation of sovereignty.

As such, I am issuing an ultimatum: to President Fabrizio, we are giving one week for the PLR to publicly declare canceling their planned entry into al-Qarn. If this deadline is met with silence or by incendiary rheoric, we will presume that an act of war is being declared and react accordingly. This extends to any allies of the PLR that may support this endeavor once more, in particular TCaDS, the Confederal States, and Handland: if you assist the Chertkovo regime, we will consider any affiliates persona non grata and marked as kill on sight."

Vice President Koresh followed afterward, "In addition, we are granting an immediate green light for the members of the Phoenix Concord to take positions into al-Qarn: all members of the Concord may send troops, ordnance, and supplies to bolster the Federal Government in defense of the nation, along with carte blanche for engaging any opponents of the Federal Government, whether Ardayga, NST-I, NST-S, pirates, raiders, or Cleaners."

General Fujimori delivered a separate statement in regards to the potential Somali front, "As Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, I am authorizing the Southern Army with reinforcements: members of the Navy Marine Division, Air Force Infantry and Special Tactics, Army Rangers, and members from the Northern and Southern Armies to bolster and give additional support to the Concord, along with the strategic capture of Nassau and the states of Jubaland and the South-West State. Additionally, I am calling for the Southern Army to maintain defenses at the Somali border with Kenya within the next week in anticipation of the PLR intervention."

"Hello, everyone. I'm glad to see that so many people have come to this commissioning ceremony, almost as glad as I am that the KGMD program has not only completed it's development but has also proven itself as the most stealthy warship on the planet, and as a highly capable Destroyer. Naturally, this has been accompanied by a number of sales to our international allies like Al-Quarn, Lex-Caledonia and of course the Concord Defense Force. Already, we've begun to securely transfer the warships around the world, though the two we've sent to Al-Quarn will for the next two years operate as Kalaronian vessels while we train their navy in the operation of them. Further, many of our factories will be getting new orders from deals enacted by both the Jaslandian military and the Lex-caledonians, this will naturally bring in quite a large boost in our industry that will only increase as our other programs reach completion and operational use among us and our allies. Further, an increase in the size of our military has been achieved, we now rival the manpower of many of the nations we have so long provided for. In this way, it's hoped that we will see a safer and more secure Kalaron.

However, this situation isn't purely happy, unfortunately. There has of-recent been a distinctive need for a deployment of both the Concord Defense Force and our own forces to Al-Quarn. Both Handland and The People's Liberation Republic have threatened to "intervene" in the domestic affairs of our Allies in Africa, and there isn't a single person who could object to our reinforcement of Al-Quarn's sovereignty. We must not sit idly by while our allies are targeted over and over by those who would destabilize the whole region, and in that spirit we've been joined by Jaslandia, Aldwood and Lex-Caledonia, with them all giving a collective total of at least one full field army. We ourselves will be deploying some thirty thousand soldiers to bolster their field army, alongside their armored vehicles and our own. These forces will be invaluable in defending our allies from untoward aggression regardless of the source, and their sensors will also be invaluable in keeping this aggression from even happening. Our friends have been threatened as they were when Andromitus was invaded, and though we did as we could on such short notice, we've now been put in a situation where we truly can aid our allies as they aid us every day. As for those who would threaten them...

To The Empire of Handland and the People's Liberation Republic, I warn you both against attempting to take our ally. It is not your right to trample on the domestic security of Al-Quarn when they've finally begun to secure land from the NST, especially when your last intervention resulted in your own checkered record for human rights due to the bombing of those civilian villages and the subsequent blame you attempted to lay on Concord's head before being proven wrong. We cannot make the rules for the nations we aid, and as such we must oblige the leadership of Al-Quarn when they ask us to fire upon vessels from both Handland and the PLRK, so I will simply reiterate what President Graziano intoned, keep your vessels outside of Al-Quarn or risk their lawful sinking. Our radar and sonar stations will be watching for vessels so please don't presume that your warships or aircraft can hide, it will only result in death for both of our sides and no civilized person would want that. Concord is ready for a defensive war and we will not abide any strain of "politicking" from any source. The world sees us all, you see, and they will mark what your provocations well.

Supreme Delegate Aleksei calls for first EC congress

Greznjev: Follwing the dissolution of the Vidnoye insurgency, the Confederacy has renewed it's efforts to create a stable, pan-european organization in what has been referred to as the "European Community project". The Supreme delegate has specifically requested nations like Lex Caledonia, Percyton and Russkov Soviet to attend, but the offer extends to any nation located in or near europe. The Confederacy has volounteered to host this first congress in Greznjev and to shoulder all costs, but will also gladly attend the congress if it is to be held in another location entirely. Potential topics for discussion of course includes the structure and scope of the European community, but subjects like the fragile state of Spanelsko and the creation of a multinational EC peacekeeping force are also on the table.

State of war declared in al-Qarn
(Assab) The AIA is abuzz as the control towers and terminal are flooded with reports, President Graziano and General Fujimori calling an emergency conference regarding the PLR's planned intervention.

"Approximately one week ago, I gave an ultimatum to the People's Liberation Republic in regard to their announced intentions to invade al-Qarn once more, to subject the country to poverty, widespread violence, and violation of sovereignty again, despite it only being a year. My message was clear: if the PLR remained silent or announced that they would go ahead with the conflict anyways, it would be seen as an act of war.

People of al-Qarn, I am saddened to say that the offices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the Presidency, nor President Fabrizio had remained silent: it appears to be clear for all of us that war will once again rage throughout the Horn of Africa, that the rabid troglodytes* who make up the government of that blasted republic will not rest until they have spilled the blood of every al-Qarnan, regardless of whether they are Somali, Tigrinian, Akkaran, Arab, European, etc., and that the Horn will be a dead land.

To the warmongerers in the Congo Basin, who bloat their government and military with excessive arms and strangle any hope of true government, of the ideals of democracy and free society, and proclaim whatever ideology to be representative of all of Africa, and to the "Empire" of Handland, who's short-sighted arrogance and crippling desires of seeing jackboots parading through the world, snuffing out liberty for tradition, for God, for fatherland, I say to you: bring your best men.

In the interim of the year, we have built ourselves from the ground once more, the ashes of villages slaughtered by rogue demagogues and monsters who make these so-called "civilized" nations tremble in fear like cattle under the fangs of wolves kept sacred yet serve as examples of making ourselves better men, the Unified Security Forces now striking with the ferocity of leopards, striking down the carrion-eaters that plague al-Qarn, ensuring the Federal Republic will remain strong, that the Flag of the Sea will eventually fly over the Indian Ocean, the Pearl of Africa and Abode of Peace reborn. In short, we are no longer your wargrounds, your test sites for your horrid excuses of national identity: Somalia belongs to the Federal Republic, to the Phoenix Concord, and to liberty."

President Graziano steps down as Gen. Fujimori takes the podium, "As the ultimatum has been met with silence, al-Qarn will now be considered under the alert system 'TEMPEST*' to be at the highest level, 'TEMPEST BLACK,' and will be kept as such until the conflict is considered finished. All urban centers, particularly Asmara, Massawa, Assab, Tadjoura, Djibouti City, Ali Sabieh, Hargeisa, Las Anod, Hordio, Bosaso, Garowe, Dhusamareb, Galkayo, Hobyo, Jowhar, Beledweyne, Adale, Nassau, Baidoa, Bu'ale, and Kismaayo, are to be at "TEMPEST GREEN," with expectations to be upgraded to "BLACK" within the following weeks.

In addition, the combat readiness system 'REDSTATE*' (Rapid Emergency Deployment State) has been raised for all formations currently at peacetime or not operating in any of the current theaters under 'REDSTATE-ID' (Immediate Deployment) and are expected to report with their commanding unit at the garrison within 48 hours. All formations operating in Somalia under the field armies 'Southern Army' and 'Coastal Army' are to begin dividing their units by geographic basis and move for Nassau to establish a forward operating base within the South-West and Jubaland States.

All Air Force formations that are currently operating any one of the 20 FSB-107s are expected to establish direct comm links with AIA, ROB-TAD*, and CC-FR* before receiving fire orders. Additional orders will be made for the 3 AC-130J units operating in al-Qarn, along with other high-ordnance craft. Army units should expect deployment of SAGR-25 units, particularly in Southern Somalia, while Rangers should expect FAS-972 units to be used in the arsenal for combat in Somalia.

Finally, we're expecting additional deployments in the west: I am issuing the dissolution of the Northern Army in favor of integrating N.A. units into the Central Army in the event of another invasion of northern Somalia, particularly in Hordio or the Bari gobol at large. Northern Army units assigned to protect Asmara or were originally designated for training the Medri Bahri Defence Forces will either be integrated into CenArm units or bolster the Rangers and Federal Defence Corps in Tadjoura: at the same time, I'm requesting that the Medri Bahri Defence Forces be joined by the 1st Federal Defence Regiment in keeping Cleaner units at bay. All Navy units are expected to grant some support to the Concord Defense Force, as well as co-operation in the event of conflict at seas with PLR units."

*Troglodytes in this instance refers to Pan troglodytes, the scientific name of the common chimpanzee, which includes the subspecies troglodytes and schweinfurthii, both species having distributions in the Congo Basin under PLR control. It is assumed to be a reference to the violent nature of common chimpanzees, including a strict hierarchy and communal warfare between communities over territory.

*TEMPEST serves as the main alert system for al-Qarn, following the retirement of the Democratic Republic alert system "ARAGON" in 2013 following the formation of the Unified Security Forces. TEMPEST holds five levels, "TEMPEST BLACK" being considered high attack, war being declared between al-Qarn and a foreign power, "TEMPEST GREEN" representing the belief that an attack or declaration of war is highly likely, "TEMPEST GREY" serving as a likely chance of an attack or noted signs of hostility with international affairs, "TEMPEST WHITE" as a possible attack or cooling relations, but not likely, and "TEMPEST BLUE" as a very low chance of attack and relative peace between nations. As of 2021, al-Qarn is currently at "TEMPEST BLACK" between the People's Liberation Republic, with large troop movements. Because of a lack of response from either the People's Liberation Republic and Handland, seen as the main threats to al-Qarn, "TEMPEST GREEN" is considered to be a more accurate assessment of alert.

*REDSTATE, or the Rapid Emergency Deployment State, is the current combat readiness assessment scale used by the Unified Security Forces, originally used during the Kediye administration before being updated in 2012 as a reflection of current affairs at the time, later updated again in reflection of the collapse of both the International Trade Federation and Union of Socialist Cooperative States in late 2019-early 2020. REDSTATE operates in a similar manner to TEMPEST, albeit for deployment and open engagement: REDSTATE-Immediate Deployment serves as the highest level, reflecting open war, REDSTATE-Deployment Imminent (DI) expecting movement within a specified state of time, REDSTATE-Heightened Notice (HN) reflecting formations being ordered to await further orders from command, REDSTATE-First Notice (FN) having communications being sent to larger formations and garrisons about potential threats, and REDSTATE-Awaiting Notice (AN) being peacetime/standard operations, particularly for units assigned for security detail.

*Ranger Operating Base - Tadjoura, the first base established for the Rangers at the start of the Tadjourah Campaign against the Shanet government.

Earlier this morning, inteligence services intercepted encrypted transmissions from a neighboring nation's Embassy. The transmissions were not meant to be seen by Soviet staff. One of the agents assigned to reviewing data in the system was about to re-send the data back into the stream, but noticed something. The PLR was mentioned by al-Qarn officials, including a state of war. The message was relayed straight to Moscow to be analyzed, then delivered to New Stalliongrad. I sit before you, stallions and mares of the EQU, with that exact same message. With the powers of the world as my witness, I shall now commit the Union's stance. The Equestrian Union of Russkov Soviet has decided to stay neutral. While we have maintained a ironclad alliance with the PLR, it would seem that recent events have forced our hand. Subsequently, troops of the 2nd Division, 19th Rifle Corps will be sent out from the former bases in the PLR to be promptly returned to the Motherland. I respectfully ask that the leadership of the al-Qarn faction do not interfere with Equestrian Navy ships in the waters around Africa, as they are there to escort the 2nd Dv/19 RC out of the area. We will be open for talks and negotiations, but will not raise arms for either side.

Annexation measures signed with Ethiopia, Kenya, etc.
In a stunning change from foreign policy, albeit expected from earlier reports of increased troop movements, the Federal Republic's borders have increased to encompass the entirety of Ethiopia and Kenya, along with the tip of South Sudan and the eastern half of Uganda. In a meeting with the various heads of state and government, agreements were made in terms of resources, manpower, and serving as a balance of power between the PLR and al-Qarn.

Meeting with the press, Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn indicated that, as a result of growing humanitarian crisis in the country after the fall of the Terminal Isles regime, along with the increasing threat of the Fabrizio regime to the west, joining with the Federal Republic would serve as beneficial to Ethiopia, particularly with increased Concord and humanitarian support. - autonomy referendums are planned for the Somali Regional State in Ethiopia and the counties that formed the North Eastern Region in Kenya, with options for remaining in their republics, forming new republics, or opting to join Somalia.

- construction of a defense system at the western border, running from Equatorial Sudan to Uganda-Lugazi, particularly a border fence manned by Federal Defence Corps members
- representation in the House of Representatives as a set number for the remainder of 2021 and part of 2022, followed by a special election in 2022 for an accurate representation in the House.

Upon hearing about the war in Somalia we have officially decided to remain neutral, we will not allow any of the sides in this war to use our harbours or airfields. We are willing to sell our weapons to both sides if they for some reason wanted something from us. Be it tanks, chemical weapons etc.
As for who we officially support is the current Government of Somalia, as for the reason we will remain neutral is because both the Kongo and Handland used to be our allies in the past, in order to honor our former friendship we have decided not to take a side in this war.

Prime Minister George Kirkman discussing his upcoming state visit to Percyton with his staff. Despite Kirkman’s high hopes for the trip, some have criticized him by claiming that the timing is inopportune in light of the war in al-Qarn.

Having settled into government, Prime Minister George Kirkman announced today that he will make his first state visit, visiting the State of Percyton next week. During a press conference earlier today, Kirkman said “As a longtime railway enthusiast, and a strong advocate of closer relations with Percyton, I made a promise to myself, to King Percy, and to the world that Percyton would be my first state visit. Not only is this a symbol of how important Percyton is to us, but as an added bonus, Percyton has always been a dream vacation of mine: what more could a railfan ask for than the VIP treatment in the land of talking locomotives?” At this, Kirkman and the gathered reporters chuckled.

Percytonian officials have been positive about the upcoming visit, and said they will spare no expense in showing the Prime Minister what the Island of Sodor has to offer. “We are ecstatic about Prime Minister George Kirkman’s upcoming visit to our fair island,” Percytonian Foreign Minister Thomas the Tank Engine said in a statement. “He will be treated with the utmost hospitality, and we will receive him with all the honor deserving of his position. We look forward to meeting Prime Minister Kirkman and discussing closer relations with him.”

Army and Police wont be punished for any crimes done by them, while they have limitations to what they can and cannot do they are free to do most things. Kirkman wraps up first day in Percyton

Prime Minister George Kirkman of Jaslandia in the Tidmouth Governmental Complex, walking to a state dinner in his honor. The dinner capped the first day of Kirkman’s state visit to Percyton, which so far seems to be a success.

Prime Minister George Kirkman of Jaslandia has just finished the first day of his three-day visit to Percyton, and reports indicate the day was a smashing success.

The visit began at 8:45 AM, when Prime Minister Kirkman arrived at Sodor International Airport near Maron. Kirkman was then picked up by the Flying Thistle, and taken to Knapford Station. There, Kirkman met with Prime Minister Sir Bertram Topham Hatt, and the two had a lengthy discussion. Reportedly, the two discussed the operation of Sodor Railways, Percyton and Jaslandia’s economic situations, and how Jaslandia and Percyton could form a closer relationship. According to sources close to Sir Topham Hatt, the two discussed various proposals, including arms deals to Percyton, a free trade agreement, and even a Jaslandian military base near Vicarstown.

Afterwards, at around 10:50 AM, Kirkman boarded Foreign Minister Thomas the Tank Engine’s passenger train to Ffarquhar, with Kirkman’s entourage riding in Thomas’ faithful coaches Annie and Clarabel. As for Kirkman himself, he was given the honor of riding in Thomas’ cab. Thomas’ driver initially suggested that Kirkman help drive Thomas, but Kirkman declined by saying he was only familiar with diesel engine controls, not steam engine controls. Instead, the Jaslandian Prime Minister was allowed to assist the fireman in shoveling coal into Thomas’ firebox.

At Ffarquhar, Thomas and Kirkman met King Percy, and the three had a meeting where they discussed the workings of Sodor’s engines, and closer relations between Jaslandia and Percyton. Just after noon, Bertie the Bus took Kirkman into the village of Ffarquhar, where Kirkman chatted with locals, had lunch at a local pub, and enjoyed some local beers. According to Jacob Felgood, owner of ‘Felgood's Famous Ffarquhar Ales’ brewery and ‘the Toby’ pub (the latter being where Prime Minister Kirkman had lunch, while drinks were provided by the former), Kirkman was quite satisfied with his Ffarquhar experience. “He told me that the people were so friendly, yet also confident enough to speak to a Prime Minister as if he were an old mate,” Felgood said. “As for his experience at ‘the Toby’, Kirkman loved it! He tried some excellent fish and chips, and like any good Ffarquharian, he had some famous Felgood ales. He said it was unlike anything he’s had in Jaslandia, and when the Prime Minister asked me what the secret to the beer was, I said ‘Love, effort, and water from Hackenbeck stream.’ You can't get water like that anywhere else on Sodor, you know?”

Kirkman and Coltsov wrap up visits to Percyton

Ulfstead Castle, where a state dinner was held for for Prime Minister George Kirkman of Jasladia and Premier Aleksander Coltsov of Russkov Soviet on Thursday. The state dinner was part of a multi-day visit for both Kirkman and Coltsov.

On Friday, February 2nd, Prime Minister George Kirkman of Jaslandia and Premier Aleksander Coltsov of Russkov Soviet each wrapped up their visits to Percyton, and sources indicate a good time was had by all.

On Thursday, February 1st, the second day of Prime Minister Kirkman’s visit, Premier Coltsov flew into Percyton and landed at FOB Pegasus (an Equestrian military base east of Kirk Ronan). Upon arrival, Coltsov inspected the facility, and found everything to be in excellent condition and working as planned. Meanwhile, Prime Minister Kirkman had breakfast at the Royal Guesthouse with Prime Minister Sir Bertram Topham Hatt and Minister of Culture Sir Robert Norramby, Earl of Sodor. After breakfast, Kirkman went by limousine to Tidmouth station, and from there, taken by Oliver the Western Engine to Tidmouth Town Square, where the Mayor of Tidmouth Arnold Regaby gave Kirkman a tour of the Percytonian capital.

As the tour wrapped up, Premier Coltsov’s motorcade pulled up to Prime Minister Kirkman, with Premier Coltsov warmly introducing himself to the Jaslandian Prime Minister and inviting him to tour FOB Pegasus. Kirkman did so, and afterwards Kirkman, his entourage, and the locals of Kirk Ronan were treated to a concert of Equestrian national and military songs by Coltsov and a group of Equestrian soldiers just outside of FOB Pegasus. This was followed by Kirkman having lunch at FOB Pegasus with Coltsov and the troops of the base, where both leaders ate the same food as the common soldiers. After lunch, Molly the Strong Yellow Engine arrived to take Kirkman, Coltsov, and their respective entourages to the Skarloey Railway at Crovan’s Gate. Jerry, who upon the Premier’s request was not informed of the visit, was quite surprised to see the Equestrian leader, and the three (Jerry, Coltsov, and Kirkman) chatted for a good long time, with Coltsov catching up with Jerry about Jerry’s work on Sodor and the Ooyre Valley Railway, and Kirkman eagerly talking with the famous engine about the latter’s history. Afterwards, the two leaders boarded Jerry’s passenger train, as the narrow gauge engine took them up the Skarloey Railway.

With two world leaders on-board, Jerry and his crew gave the visitors a tour of the narrow gauge railway as they went along. At Rheneas station, Jerry stopped to take on water, with Kirkman and Coltsov taking the opportunity to photograph the picturesque waterfall nearby. Once Jerry’s tank was filled, the group went further up the line, until they reached Skarloey station, formerly the terminus station of the Skarloey Railway, and now the end-point of the ‘Old Route’ of the Skarloey Railway. While Coltsov hung back to chat with Jerry some more, Kirkman took the funicular to Skarloey village, where he and his entourage where given a tour of the secret caves and hideout spots that were the centers of Sudrian resistance during invasions by the Scots, Cromwellians, and other occupying powers. Coltsov, after finishing his chat with Jerry, also took the funicular to Skarloey village, where he briefly toured the resistance hideouts before taking in Skarloey’s famous spring water at the spa.

After a few hours, the two world leaders and their retainers got back on board Jerry’s train, and Jerry took the group to Ulfstead Castle, where Sir Robert Norramby was holding a state dinner for both Prime Minister Kirkman and Premier Coltsov. After a pre-dinner gala, the feast began, with Sir Robert beginning the dinner by giving a toast to both the current close relationship between Percyton and Russkov Soviet, and the hope for future close relations between Percyton and Jaslandia. “It was a very moving speech,” Prime Minister Kirkman said afterwards. “Sir Robert expressed his wish for Jaslandia and Russkov Soviet to become joint protectors of Percyton, which is a lovely idea that I will certainly be discussing with Premier Coltsov.” After dinner, the two leaders went their separate ways, and left the press behind for a more private evening. The Duke and Duchess of Boxford's private engine Spencer took Prime Minister Kirkman down the standard gauge line to the Duke and Duchess’s summer house, where Kirkman enjoyed tea and cake with the Duke and Duchess. At the same time, the Flying Thistle took Premier Coltsov to Callan Castle, where the Equestrian leader enjoyed tea and cake with Deputy Foreign Minister Lord Alexander Callan. Afterwards, Kirkman and Coltsov returned to the Royal Guesthouse aboard Spencer and the Flying Thistle respectively, and after some informal discussions between the two leaders in the guesthouse lobby about cooperation between their nations, both retired to their private quarters.

During the Sonoma Confrontation (which lasted from March 2015 to November 2017), Vista Major withdrew many of its ambassadors and diplomats from across the world (save for those representing the nation among critical allies). Although the former Vistonian Federation was abolished as a result of the Californian Convention, the new Grand Republic is committed to restoring partnerships formally put on hold. As such, Matteo Zakariya, Director of International Affairs, has officially announced the return of ambassadorial teams to sovereign states across the world in the coming weeks, starting with those nations whom are affiliated with the Grand Republic via international organizations, such as the North Naboo Pact, the Commonwealth of Allied North American and Associated Nations, and O-HOPE. In addition, all nations are invited to organize state visits with the Grand Republic in order to rekindle old flames and found new alliances.

In a statement with the Report, Director Zakariya says that he is "greatly optimistic about the Grand Republic's return to the international stage", and that he hopes "many nations come to visit the new and improved Vista Major in all its contemporary glory."

USAF Social and Education Reform:


Summarily after prayer, the National Arab Peace and Development Coalition, or NAPDC, summarily went to work on the implementation of legislation tailored toward the General Secretary's passion for vitalization and progression of the Arab State. Houssam promised the people of the USAR that the NAPDC would be a passionate advocate of education for Arab children, adolescence, adults, and the youth, believing it essential for the USAR's future progress. Therefore, General Secretary Houssam has ordered through the National Arab Congress that the Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of the Interior, and the Ministry of Home Affairs have been assigned toward reconstruction for the establishment of many institutions of higher learning, including the All Arab Institute of Medical Sciences, the Arab Institutes of Technology, the Arab Institutes of Management and the National Arab Institutes of Technology.

Furthermore, the NAPDC has outlined, with the permission of General Secretary Houssam, a commitment in a five-year plan to guarantee free and compulsory primary education to all of Arabs. For this purpose, Houssam has decided to personally oversee the creation of mass village and urban enrollment programs and the construction of hundreds of both public and private schools. Houssam has also ordered for the launching of initiatives such as the provision of free milk and meals to children to fight malnutrition within tribal areas and communities far from cities. In addition to such, adult education centers, vocational and technical schools have been also organised for adults, especially in the rural areas.

General Secretary Houssam has also announced that over the next 7 years, the National Arab Congress shall enact many changes to Muslim law to criminalize social discrimination and increase the legal rights and social freedoms of women. A system of reservations in government services and educational institutions shall be created over the next 4 years to periodically and systematically eradicate the social inequalities and disadvantages faced by peoples of the lower socioeconomic levels and scheduled tribes. Houssam has proclaimed and announced that the administration shall also, as part of social reform and freedom, champion and promote secularism and religious harmony as well as increase the representation of minorities within government over the next 3-8 years through extensive socioeconomic and cultural enhancement policies that ensure the protection, representation, and assistance to women, minorities, and all Indians that find themselves at a disadvantage; however, Islam shall remain the national, dominant religion, of which shall not be infringed upon.
