A Brief History
The Great War was perhaps the greatest conflict Germany had ever fought. Never before had such an existential, industrialized exchange of violence ever touched even the famously militaristic Germanic peoples. Millions had perished, thousands faced starvation and the suffering of the German peoples had reached heights none thought possible.
And yet, they stood victorious. A great push through Belgium and America's isolationism allowed for the French line to finally snap; and with its failure, the march towards Paris was quick and celebratory. The sight of German soldiers marching through the Arc De Triomphe would reach newspapers the world over. The United Kingdom, facing incredible dissent at home, would sign a "Peace with Honor", sacrificing most all of its colonial territories in return for the maintenance of the UK's sovereignty.
The German Empire had finally found its place in the sun, in fact it had seized the sun itself. No nation or empire could dispute its powers. Russia had collapsed into revolution, almost falling to the Bolsheviks before German intervention snuffed out the cinders of revolution and installed Kerensky as President. All of Eastern Europe sans Russia - from the Baltics in the North to Ukraine in the South - was surrendered under the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk. Austria-Hungary, the Empire's stalwart ally, punished Italy for its Alpine ambitions and kept its nationalist rebels under control. The Ottoman Empire, still the sick man of Europe, managed to limp on for a few years more, revived be this brief victory which united its peoples for years to come.
And yet, the world is coming to an edge. The Germans have grown decadent and content with their Empire, and the fires of Revolution burn brighter than ever before.
The Internationale
Millions of Frenchmen and Brits died for their counties. All of it, for nothing. The once mighty British Empire was brought to its knees, begging for German mercy like a whipped child. The French Republic had forgotten its origin, and Syndicalist revolts in Paris, though put down, were never truly forgotten. The Capitalist oppressors which sent so many young men to their graves would find a rude awakening as they were carried through the streets, and their crimes shouted out to the heavens for all to hear.
As Germany secured Alsace-Lorraine, its "rightful earth", the French Republic scrambled to maintain order in the countryside and cities together. The humiliation Germany forced upon the Republic was too much to bear, and the facade of national glory vanished to the true vision of Proletarian revolution. Across the entire nation, Syndicalist elements no longer hid in the shadows: they declared open war on the capitalist establishment. The remnants of the French Army found the rank-and-file defecting to charismatic young officers, many of whom had fought on the front-lines while High Command hid in Paris and enjoyed all its luxuries.
Taken by surprise and still reeling from the defeat to Germany, for the first time in history a socialist revolution toppled a European nation. The Jacobins, vanguardist revolutionaries, began open murder across every metropolis, holding show trials that quickly led to the execution of business owners, politicians, officers, and any person who stood in opposition to the revolution. The loyalist French attempted a desperate defense but quickly found that the homeland was not welcome to them; the survivors of the Ancien Regime were forced to flee to North Africa, where they promise a return even to this day.
With the 2nd French Revolution successful, it was not long until Britain faced its own class awakening. Having lost tens of thousands of men in the French collapse, and soon to abandon every colonial possession except for the Crown Jewel, the same violence that broke out in the streets of Paris soon found itself in London, as well. Syndicalist radicals and union militias, combined with unexpected defections of returning soldiers, forced the Royal Family to flee to Canada, taking with them most of the Royal Navy and remaining Tory establishment.
In a matter of mere months, the once mighty nations of France and Britain gave birth to a new evolution of society: Syndicalist unions, no longer tolerating the machinations of wealthy elites, instead built for the working man.
This shocking event soon gave birth to revolutions the world over, from India with the successful Bhartiya Commune, to nations on its last legs such as the United States, where the Combined Syndicates of America have gatherd power throughout most of New York and the Rust Belt and threaten revolution. The Austrian instated Italian Federation was incapable of resisting the same Syndicalist revolutionaries, but stopped them short of Rome where a short-term truce threatens to ignite violence any day.
As it stands today, the following nations have embraced Marx's message of proletarian brotherhood:
- The Union of Britain
- The Commune of France
- The Bharitiya Commune
- The Socialist Republic of Bolivia
- The Socialist Republic of Italy
- The Chilean People's Republic
- The Socialist Republic of Mexico
- The People's Republic of CentroAmerica

The triumph of the Great War, though taking a once unimaginable toll, was perhaps the greatest victory Germany has ever seen. It established the German Empire as the world's single greatest nation, taking over the mantle of the Empire on which "the sun never sets". From Europe, to Africa, to the Far East, Germany now rules hundreds of millions of peoples as the penultimate European power.
Having directly seized Alsace-Lorraine and Luxembourg, while establishing puppet-governments in Eastern Europe, many would see the Empire's rule there as absolute. Poland, Ruthenia, Ukraine, Lithuania, and the Baltics are either under provisional German government or ruled by a member of the Hohenzollern dynasty. Russia, once a great threat to Germany, now lays beaten and abused with hundreds of miles between it and the German border. Finally, Germans there can rest at ease.
In Africa, much of was once the British and French colonial possessions were seized. In the name of efficiency, these territories were organized under a single colonial government - MittelAfrika - headed by the ambitious politician Hermann Göring. In the East, not only did the British and French lose their holds in China, but Germany managed to expand this control - uniting all of Southern China under the control of Allgemaine Ostasiatishe Gesellschaft, a corporate headed colonial government that rules its territories on behalf of the German Empire. Indochina, too, was surrendered by the French, as they had no means to protect it. So too did Malaysia and Brunei, including with it the vital city of Singapore, fall under German sway. Though the "peace with Honor" demanded the British control over India, Sri Lanka was still given after the subcontinent broke out into civil war between Indian nationalists, British loyalists and Syndicalists. The Italian possessions in East Africa, Madagascar, French Morocco, and the Ivory Coast also soon bowed down to the Kaiser.
Today the German Empire stands at its strongest point in history. As of today, the following nations are under Germany's control or allied to it:
- The German Empire
- The Kingdom of Flanders-Wallonia
- The Kingdom of Poland
- The United Baltic Duchy
- The Kingdom of Lithuania
- The Kingdom of White Ruthenia
- Deustch-MittleAfrika
- Allgemaine Ostasiatishe Gesellschaft
- The State of Crete
- The Principality of Malta
The Entente
While the Red Terror murdered so many innocent souls, their crimes shall not go unpunished. The ravenous and unprincipled mobs may very well have managed to seize the rightful homelands, but the royalty and loyalists stand tall despite this defeat.
The British Royal Family escaped London long before the Syndie hordes descended on the palace. Canada, a nation that due to its limited involvement had its homeland unravaged by war, welcomed the Windsors with open arms. There, the Commonwealth of Canada was established - and with it, tens of thousands of Royalist Britons heeded the call of King and County. The Royal Navy, ever the might of Britain, had much of its fleet maintain control of the seas long enough for remnants of the Royal Army to flee as well.
Meanwhile in France, the conservatives would not stand to see them allow another revolution. They, along with the Bonapartes and Bourbons, were saved by Marshal Petain and fled to North Africa, where the French Republic maintains itself under the guidance of Petain.
India, with no ability for the British to maintain real control, fell into open revolt. While Syndicalists began revolution in the East and nationalist Hindu princes established a confederation in the South, the British Raj held onto some authority by compromising with local Indian nobility and capitalist class. Despite the state of the British Empire, the Crown Jewel remains loyal the King.
The remnants of the old order refuse to accept defeat, and count among the following:
- The Commonwealth of Canada
- The French Republic
- The Principality of Delhi
- The Caribbean Federation
