The president leaned on the balcony window, watching the airships that carried passengers and cargo dock and undock. Manite, as it was called, was responsible for ALL of this. Walking back inside, he sat down and began sorting through his papers.

[FORMER HATOOTELAND]

The crowd cheered at the man walking to the stage, without fear he faced his audience and began his speech. "Today marks a new era for the empire, today we have discovered a mineral unlike anything else!" Jim allowed the applause and cheering to finally die down before he continued " It has allowed us to create more advanced machines of war, now the world will tremble before us as we have now become stronger than ever before!" The president bowed down and left the stage allowing the citizens of the great Baltic empire to observe the technology they have unveiled.

The Japanese Empire
Tokyo, Japan

Emperor Meiji, the man who unified Japan and modernized and got it all of its territory making it a global power in under 50 years. He was a true Japanese hero. The celebrations for his birthday began only a couple days ago and now they were lively, discounts at stores, house parties every night. Parties in the Imperial square in front of the palace, as Meiji walked out onto the grand Terrace and looked out over the square it felt like the entire city let out a huge cheer. He gave a rousing speech and promised to make this year of his life even better than his last. His Bodygaurd, Known as the Sun's Samurai paced around the palace making sure there was no breach. As he went back inside he went back to work he called for his head general Nagahiro to come in.

"Hello, General. Please have a cup of tea"
"Thank you" He bowed so low his face nearly touched the ground "Which tea should I have?"
"The Dragon Tea, it is my birthday after all, how about a treat."
The General took the tea from the cupboard and made two cups of tea bringing the second to the emperor.
"Thank you" said the emperor.
"My pleasure" responded Nagahito.
"Now" said the Meiji, switching to a more serious tone "If I may ask, how is the planning going."
"Its finished" responded the general "In fact most of the preparations are in place we just need the people to get going"
"Good" said the emperor "I'm sure you know the race for colonies in the pacific has already begun, we are getting a late start but this will help us. Make sure that the people and soldiers are ready to go in a weeks time. As soon as these celebrations are over we can beg..."
He was interrupted by the sound of fireworks outside.
"Beautiful, aren't they" the emperor opened his window, the fireworks erupted into images of dragons and soldiers, and other symbols of Japan. "Lets continue this conversation tomorrow, nagahiro. Enjoy yourself tonight. It is a holiday after all."

Fuzan, Pusan Province, Japan

Celebrations were alive in Korea, for it was the emperors birthday. However for some this was no holiday.

"Go! We must get to Japan by next morning we are to leave in only a couple of days"
The troops rushed through the streets, they took the alley was, less crowded than the main roads. They rushed through the streets, several hundred troops yelling at each other in Japanese. Their swords and guns maid loud noises as they smacked against their armor.
"We don't have all night!" Screamed the commander. The soldiers ran quicker, as they arrived at the docks. "If your that slow, you'll never survive in a battle." The soldiers looked disappointed that they couldn't please their commander.

"Oyasumi, Captain Yukihito" said the captain of the ship. "We must board soon, the fireworks are about to go off we might be able to catch them on the way out of the port."
"You hear that" said the Captain. "A reward if you can follow orders." The soldiers faces filled with delight as they boarded the ships. On the way out of port the fireworks exploded over head, the ships decks filled with soldiers. "Here, bowls of sushi all around" said the ships cook "this is a night of celebration." The soldiers gave a cheer for their emperor.

The president was reading through the pile of documents gathered worldwide on how other supernations were doing in the arms race to see how crazy weapons could get. A senate meeting was to occur in 3 hours to determine who would be friend or foe.

Jim was now outside, observing an army drill, he was watching the marksman training. In this training each soldier was given a minute to shoot targets with the new Mp400. "Sgnt Ivanov, show our president what we are all about" the commander exclaimed, not even looking at the Sargent. A young man dressed in army uniform stepped forward and picked up the Smg. The commander gave the signal and Ivanov swiftly squeezed the trigger. Just as the targets popped up, Ivanov would shred it with bullet holes until he destroyed all of them. The commander had spoken again " your time was 20 seconds, so far the fastest in the country. Congratulations sgnt Ivanov." The president knew, a superpower with soldier like these, Jim could really make this empire great.
