A maritime city-state and former British colony located in the Sea of Japan. Notable features include a unique Anglo-Japanese culture, a powerhouse economy driven by banking, tourism and trade, strict laws concerning cleanliness and car ownership, and Swiss-style direct democracy.

Same person as The-Chinese-Federation, though keep in mind they take place in separate continuities.

- Elinette Lelaerry, Vampyre strategist

Until the British arrived in the mid-19th century, Teienshi had no creatures resembling vampires in its folklore. Since then, Teienshi depictions of vampires have been highly Western-influenced, taking cues from works like Dracula.

Although it did see a limited DVD and digital release, it never reached the same popularity that it did in Western countries.

100 duck-sized horses. It would be a slow, easy target as opposed to a hundred small horses, who could easily rush you.

If you have any questions about Teienshi, feel free to ask them!

What is the means by which the physical body is controlled by the nonphysical soul? Is it an organ of sorts, is it because the physical realm is in actuality not separate at all from the spiritual, or is it because God arranged the physical body and the spiritual consciousness to be in sync and in perfect harmony?

There are no statistics for that particular belief, but the majority of our population is cultural Shinto, though we have a sizeable Christian and Buddhist minority as well.

It has many good points, but is overall an ideology that most Teienshiites would likely not agree with in its entirety.

"Socialism is a system that would never work in Teienshi. Our economic miracle and high standard of living are due to our free market policies, and going toward socialism would likely undo all this progress. However, we will support your political system's commitment to freedom of press and open elections."

The State of Monavia wrote:What is your country’s history like? Your factbook’s history section is blank.

Teienshi has been inhabited by humans since the late Paleolithic Era. During the Kamakura period, the islands came under the control of Japan after they were settled by fishermen from Kyushu. In the 16th century, the Portuguse founded a trading post on the islands known as Porto Verde, which would be one of the primary ports for European trade in Japan until the beginning of Sakoku, when the post was permanently dismantled. The islands would not see European influence again until 1858, when the islands were ceded to Great Britain as part of the Anglo-Japanese Treaty of Amity and Commerce. Lord Elgin, the main negotiator of the treaty, would go on to establish the modern city of Teienshi and become its first Governor. From here, the islands grew due to immigration from mainland Japan, China and Korea.

In 1941, shortly after declaring war on Britain, Japan invaded and occupied Teienshi. Under Japanese rule, a campaign of de-westernization was enacted, in which the minority Korean and Chinese populations were severely repressed, and publicly speaking any language other than Japanese was severely punished. This continued until the surrender of Japan in 1945. In 1948, the first local elections were held, in which pro-Independence parties won a majority. Lead by Jiro Hayashi, who would later become Teienshi's first Prime Minister, this government successfully secured independence from Great Britain in 1952. After this, referendums were held concerning Teienshi membership in the British Commonwealth and union with Japan, both of which failed.

After independence, the Teienshi economy entered a slump from which it would not emerge from until the 1970s, when the government began a campaign of economic liberalization and revitalization, which turned Teienshi from a developing nation to a developed nation within a matter of years.

Flogging and all other forms of corporal punishment were removed from the criminal code in 1975, and in 1988, a referendum was passed that banned the use of corporal punishment in all educational institutions. However, corporal punishment in private households remains legal.

Okay then,

How is your public transport system like?

Public transportation in Teienshi is primarily managed by the state-owned Teienshi Transportation Company, and serves an average of 8 million people each day. This system primarily includes bus routes, the Teienshi Metro, and ferry lines between the three islands. There is also a light rail system that encircles the entirety of the island of Midorijima, though this is more for tourism than transportation since Midorijima is mostly composed of nature reserves.

What was the status of Teienshi during the Cold War? Did you host military bases? Due to your links to Great Britain we can only assume you were pro-USA.

How common are ethnic mixes in your nation?
