They're the most powerful beings in the known universe, yet they are, in a sense, like any other person. They have emotions, they make mistakes, and they're susceptible to make irrational decisions. One might even say that without their powers, these beings are practically human. But I'm not one to judge. Who am I, you might ask? Well, it's a bit complicated. I am everything you've ever wished for. I am all of the hopes and dreams of every being from every universe, including every possible timeline, combined. I have no physical form, and I don't ask to be worshiped by anyone. The only reason I exist is to guide others and give them meaning. But hey, it's as good a reason as any.
She couldn't believe it. After thousands of years of loyal service to the Council, she was being banished. And for what? Helping humanity. Because for some reason, it's better to just ignore an evident issue than actually solve it. That was the Council's way of viewing things, but it wasn't hers. And now, here she was, hands tied behind her, surrounded by guards who planned to toss her into a portal. And they did just that.
The portal closed behind her, so she had no way of getting out now. To her surprise, there was absolutely nothing; just a blank, white void that just happened to have a floor. The quiet was calming at first, before she realized that there was a high chance she would be alone there, for the rest of her practically immortal life. Not even her future vision could guide her. She was lost and alone, with no way out.
"Fine, I get it, no need to shove!" Raven shouted, as she was being pushed through the portal. "Geez, the least they could do was-" She stopped herself mid sentence, awestruck by what she saw. "Woah..."
Throughout the endless white sky, thousands of floating "lanterns"; floating spheres of light, danced through the air. The once white, blank realm was illuminated with every color imaginable. Raven soon noticed that she wasn't alone. There was a woman who also had jet black hair, wearing a dark blue dress. She was facing the opposite direction, taking no notice of Raven's presence.
The young goddess had heard about this woman, who happened to be a fellow deity. Excited, she flew over to greet her. "Hey, Fa-! I mean, your Clarity." Raven greeted, curtsying before the elder goddesss. "Sorry to bother you, but did you make this?" She then gestured to the thousands of lights, just floating around.
Fate was taken back by this sudden arrival. "Oh, um, yes I did, actually."
"This is incredible! I mean, I don't want to sound like I'm lying or anything, but I really do think this is great. To be honest, I was worried I'd be stuck here alone for the rest of eternity, but I'm glad you're her-" She had just caught herself on what that might imply. "I'm sorry, that didn't sound good at all, did it?"
Fate couldn't help but chuckle. "Don't worry, I know what you meant."
Raven, who was normally much more relaxed, felt extremely nervous. "Ah, that's good. Sorry if I'm being annoying, it's just that I haven't met someone so important before."
"You aren't annoying at all, don't worry!"
For the first time, Raven didn't feel out of place. Somehow, even if she was stuck in this realm for the rest of eternity, she had a strange feeling things wouldn't be that bad. Heck, who knows? Maybe things might turn out for the best. "Thanks."
