Cancelled due to lack of interest

THE SUN FESTIVAL is an annual tradition of the islands of AHSCA in the name of our Holy Goddess of the Sun to celebrate the end of the harvest season before the onset of the monsoonal season really takes grip. It's considered the most calm time on the seas as it's also as hurricane season ends. This small window of less than a month brings about a lot of work and a lot of celebration after it. For the most part, this festival has been reserved for native and locals, with some tourists maybe getting caught in the mix. With increased tourism to our humble little islands we've been looking for a nice hook to keep traditions and our environmental beauty alive but being able to welcome those adventurous explorers. How will you take in our slice of tropical paradise? Will you rough it and go for the traditional AHSCA hut? Maybe you'll stay in a cozy offshore cruise liner that's straddling our lovely coastlines there's also the Inn, a small motel (or boattel, seatel, sailtale -- well whatever you want to call it I suppose...) uniquely made up from renovated shipping containers. Or maybe you're from outer space and will be just fine in your spaceship. Your passport has been filed through the United Island Foreign Relations Office (UNIFRO) and has been approved (assuming your app is all good).

Most of the festivities for tourists will be held on Aurora Island home to our capital and Royal Family but you will be allowed to travel to other islands. Take in the serene beauty of our country, do some fishing, visit some people make your adventure, yours! If you need help consult our quick guide for information otherwise we have locals willing and able to help.

Quick history

AHSCA is a union of five islands that were apart of a trusteeship then formed into a sovereign union after a deadly war by foreign aggressors hoping to annex the islands for resources and ethnic cleansing purposes. It formed it's constitution in the middle of the war and weather conditions brought momentary ceasefire while a treaty was worked out and eventually the islands were granted their full independence. Recognition came slowly over the years but today AHSCA is widely recognized by most foreign governments.

Health and Hygiene

Though technically a third-world nation, AHSCA is mostly free of ravages of disease thanks to post-war recovery efforts by humanitarian groups. Well water is clean and fluoridated and most islander wash regularly and are vaccinated from young ages. Still a little foresight goes a long way to staying healthy, including staying washed regularly, packing needed medicine you need for your health, eating foods that you know you are tolerant too, having them adequately prepared and you staying clean and groomed helps our population stay healthy too. If you have non-bio-degradable trash, please carry out with you or dispose at official offices of the Embassy Island complex.

Cultural

AHSCA has held to it's days of tribalism and old monarchy well into the modern era. Call it primitive call it backward regardless it exists. 95% of AHSCAian Islanders are religious, with overwhelming following Madokamisim, which this festival is based around this religion. The religion is often thought as a very open and tolerant religion, morose than traditional Judaeo Christian faiths with liberal and open attitudes towards, sexuality, nudity, homosexuality, gender roles and other cultural topics where religion plays a role.

Languages

English (Common) with parts of Spanish are spoken in the islands but AHSCA has its own languages you might need guides for: (OOC you really won't need to worry much about languages unless you want to be hardcore but I'll be using Google at the end of the day)

AHSCA is made up of five states that were previously (unofficially) considered independent island states in the world. As such most islands have their own cultural breakdowns.

Aurora & Hoshino - Language and customs are very similar to Japanese

Stilleståndö - Sometimes known as Truce Island the language is similar to Swedish

Corona - The long outlier it's language is similar to Esperanto, it's native populaces are known as the Nigren people and are mostly dark and tan skinned. They make up 95% of the islands racial demographics Known to be very traditional and 99% adhere to the religion with 25% of that being considered very strict adherence. Still know to be hospitable and friendly.

Animalpolis - Originally set up as a sanctuary state of anthromimi (commonly nekomimi or kitsunemimi) also similar to Japanese like it's western neighbors.

Climate

AHSCA is a tropical monsoonal climate with a distinctive wet season and a "dry" season. Sudden popup and late day thunderstorms are not uncommon even in the dry season. Hurricanes are mostly during our dry period, it's unlikely you'll see such a massive storm during your visit but be mindful of the weather, always. Temperatures are usually very warm even at night. Average high this time of year is 32.3 Celsius. Deep sea fishing is best done with the help of locals, venture alone at your own risk.

Flora and Fauna

AHSCA is home to many plants and animals found in tropical climates. Few are dangerous but some species of snakes and frogs are known to be venomous which can lead to mild illness.

The Rules

-Write as well as you can, I don't expect perfection just text that's easy to read.
-You can send as many characters are you are able to keep track of and want. If you are playing in different spots use the horizontal lines to break your conversations.
-All techs and all species are welcome just be mindful I'm MT with a multi-species population.
-PG-13 and other forum rules apply
-Crime and criminal activity stories are okay but no assassins and no mass terrorism incidents; this isn't diplomatic so no reason to send assassins anyway. Keep it tech friendly too and PG-13! In other words, don't zap my cops with a ray gun! If anyone is willing to have a character victimized by a crime petty or grave, let me know and we'll hash it out.
-Respect other players though, don't do anything without permission.

Any and all weapons must be declared and inspected to United Island Police. Open and concealed carry is permissible but you may be ask to surrender certain weapons for safe keeping until you leave. Marijuana and natural substances are also permissible but only in privacy and cannot be sold to locals. Synthetic street drugs are banned. Failure to comply will result in detention and expulsion from our nation with your nation's embassy or consult (if established) being notified.
