Playing with the nation creation page percentages

Postby Runeas » Tue Jul 18, 2017 7:09 am

I don't know if this has been posted before, but it is possible to temporarily edit the percentages of civil rights, economic and political freedoms through the "Inspect Element" button, which is found in most browsers like Chrome or Edge. It looks like some sort of cheating, depending on your point of view. It can be used to create nations with categories other than the ones selectable through the default buttons, or the "random" button.

No that's roughly equivalent to clicking Random until you get an outcome you like.

Suppose that you select (for example) the Anarchic nation type and edit all the freedom stats to equal zero. When your nation is created, does this statement imply that your nation will start the game with 0/0/0 (in terms of freedom stats) or the Anarchic default stats of 97/97/97?

You can't go outside 3-97, but you can choose any freedom values within that range. The labels are just handy names for different sets of values people might like.

So... to what extent is [v] trying to imply that code-fiddling to get desired freedom outcomes during nation-creation is legal, or is it A-OK but rarely seen?

It's totally fine. I meant that the site forces your freedoms into the range 3-97. You can fiddle with the HTML to make it 1000,1000,1000 on the nation creation page if you want, but that won't carry through to your nation.

Yup I tried 100, 100, 100 and it gave me a nation of all 97s.
