Camp des Reynes Polo Open
Valliant Charity Cup

Summer finally arrived. Now is the time to get our way into the field. Polo (Horse not Water) players around the world are invited to visit the famous [needs clarification] Camp des Reynes Polo Club, to the First International Camp des Reynes Polo Open. It would be an Honour to count on your presence. For more about polo, you can see here and also here.

Valliant
The Valliant Charity Trust was established in June 2014 by His Sovereign Highness the Princess-Consort Armine I of Lisander, to raise funds for Orphanages throughout Lisander and other Imperan League nations. The Valliant Cup, as well as the right to offer it to a Sports Club on behalf of the Trust, were auctioned in the last Winter, and the Camp des Reynes Polo Club paid the amount of L$ 212,000. This money is being currently used for the construction of the first "House of Princess" - an orphanage for girls - in Ariannin, a small nation recovering from a Civil War that recently joined Imperan League.

Teams
1. Valliant/Camp des Reynes Polo Club (LIS)
2. The South Plains Polo Club (STR)
3. Largross City Polo Club (NFB)
4. ABSA/Saint-Émile Polo Club
5.
6.
7.
8.

Tournament calendar will be confirmed as soon as the spots are filled.

Format
Club Teams and National Teams participate together. Up to 8 teams (one per nation), seeded in two groups, playing Round Robin. The winners of each group advance to semifinals. Second and Third-placed advances to quarter-finals. Fourth-placed teams play for the 7th place. Quarterfinals winners advance to the semifinals, and to the finals as usual. There will be a 3rd place match as well.

Scorination, Levels (Handicap) and RP Bonus
xKoranate. This is Horse Polo, but Water Polo formula will be used since both sports have similar scores in the end of the game. Polo Handicap will be limited to a sum of 12 per team (so yes, you can have a weaker team, and enjoy a Handicap match) and can be assigned freely to players.More about handicap may be seen here

RP Bonus will be given and won't degrade. It will vary between 0,1 and 0,5 per match. As usual, quality will be prioritised over quantity, and Players will be evaluated using criteria of general mastery of the fundamentals, horsemanship, sense of strategy and conduct, and quality of ponies. Mentions to Valliant Charity Trust and its causes are encouraged and will be considered in the bonus.

No roster bonus will be given, since entries without a roster won't be accepted (A polo team have only 4 players in the field, isn't that hard).

About RP Permissions
Polo is a gentlemen sport that doesn't admit violence or deliberated injuries. Accidents, if occur, should be accorded between users. Any roleplayer that deliberately offends or injures its opponent, horse or any participant of the event will be immediately expelled and banned.

Sponsoring
Saville Polo Apparel is a proud sponsor of this event. 100% of the event's revenue, between producing uniforms and selling apparel, will be earmarked for Valliant initiatives.

Image
If your team is interested in uniforms to play CdR Polo Open and doesn't have a preferred supplier, just send a TG or add a line in the roster topic. Uniforms reflect care with appearance, and in Polo (as well as in RP) this is important.

I was somewhat excited by the idea of a Polo tournament with the appearance of Punta Pacifica Polo Open, which unfortunately seems to have been abandoned before it even started. Since the other did not go forward, let's try this one.

Nation name: Strommend
Club name: The South Plains Polo Club
Sponsor: South Plains Equestrian
Team handicap: 21-goal handicap

Roster-

#1: James Edwards (25), handicap 3-goal. A failed, jockey and olympian polo didn't come as naturally to James as it did his brother. Having only started playing when he was 17, James has done very well to get himself to the position he is today. Having not trained or played in just under a year, due to a broken leg, it will be interesting to see how Edwards performs in his comeback performance in the Camp Des Reynes Polo Open.

#2: David Frost (36), handicap 3-goal. David Frost is the older, but also most experienced player on the team, taking on potentially the hardest role at #2. Having played against some of the top teams in Asia and the Middle East, David is not one to mess around and is a great team player and athlete.

#3: Samuel Edwards (28), handicap 4-goal. Born into an affluent and influential Anglian family in the South of England, Samuel was brought up on the Polo field from the first day he could ride. Alongside his brother James, he has played all over the European continent and just come of an independent tour in Argentina taking on some of the greatest professional polo teams of all time. Sam is also considered to be the most talented player on the team.

#4: George Lundy (33), handicap 2-goal. George is potentially the weakest player on the team, but by no stretch of the imagination a liability, offering great defensive skill, manoeuvrability and vision, helping the team in sticky situations.

Ponies-

#1: Pony 1, Pharaoh, age 7 (15 hands/152 cm and 426 kg) / Pony 2, Saturday Dreamer, age 6 (14.2 hands/144 cm and 415 kg) / Pony 3, Typhoon II, age 6 (15.5 hands/157 cm and 445 kg)
#2: Pony 1, Lucky Strike, age 5 (15.8 hands/160 cm and 481 kg) / Pony 2, One In A Million, age 7 (15.3 hands/155 cm and 438 kg) / Pony 3, Big Brown, age 8 (15 hands/152 cm and 439 kg)
#3: Pony 1, Giacomo, age 6 (16 hands/162 cm and 480 kg) / Pony 2, Real Quiet, age 8 (15.4 hands/156 cm and 477 kg) / Pony 3, El Jefe, age 4 (15.8 hands/160 cm and 495 kg)
#4: Pony 1, Sly Fox, age 7 (15.7 hands/159 cm 426 kg) / Pony 2, Sicily, age 9 (15.5 hands /156 cm and 412 kg)

Valliant/Camp des Reynes Polo Club (12)

The hosts of the event will field the following team:

1. Cédric Lutz (6) - Attacking player, 20 years old. Cédric is the only son of late Henrique Lutz, and the younger brother of Letícia Lutz, Current Chairwoman of Lutz Textiles, biggest company of the sector in Lisander. He plays polo since he was 14, and its dedication to sport is supported by family company. His polo ponies are called Doris and Marissa.

2. Larissa Monte (3) - Midfielder, 26 years old. Larissa is a young middle-class woman who started playing polo by invitation from a friend who was richer and lent mounts. Over time, She discovered her talent for riding and playing and is currently one of the most promising players at the Camp des Reynes. She rides Blossom and Lily.

3. Armine Beaumont-Harmin (0) - Defender, 24 years old. Beaumont-Harmin is a civil surname. Her Sovereign Highness the Princess-Consort Armine is a polo and equestrian enthusiast since a child. HSH was invited to play since she is also one of the creators of Valliant Charity Trust. She rides Isolde and Viveka.

4. Vítor Slaviero (3) - Captain, Defender, 44 years old. Slaviero is one of the directors of Camp des Reynes, and the most talentful still in age to play. His experience will be useful in defense, since the main players of the team, Lutz and Monte, are attackers, and Her Highness is not a professional or frequent player. His rides are Lola and Benedetta.

Camp des Reynes only uses Mares as ponies, since they're less tempered.

The jersey:
The uniform is a plain Wine Polo shirt with white sleeves. Valliant and Camp des Reynes logos are applied.

Nation name: Savalen
Club name: The Steppe Nomads
Sponsor: Hamar Hiking
Team handicap: -5

Roster-

#1: Donegal Edwardsson (17), handicap -2. If you needed a donkey to lead your line, you've got one. Makes even the agilest of horses look like a village ass. Oh and he's more used to knocking people out on the streets of Alvdal with a baseball bat than knocking a tiny ball around with an elongated golf stick (not that he knows anything about golf terminology either. Or golf really). Basically just an idiot on a horse.

#2: Bodvar Bodvasson (19), handicap -2-goal. Sitting just behind Donegal is Bodvar "the Boxer" Bodvarsson. After being kicked out of his boxing club for right-hooking the manager "into the abyss" (into the window which overlooked the bins), Donegal has taken to clobbering a tiny ball. A more marked change in sports is unlikely, but then again, he hasn't really changed his style. He does manage to just about keep his temper with his teammates, however, the authorities of Savalen straight away apologise for any "hurties" as Bodvarsson calls them or broken legs like everyone else. He also doesn't discriminate between beast and human.

#3: Monoli (28), handicap 1-goal. The only player not picked up on-route to the airport, he managed one game for the club some 9 years ago. The only game the club has ever played. He has a slight bit of skill and can actually consistently hit the ball in a specified direction. Whether that'll be enough to life the team, we shall see.

#4: Stoick Hadvar (33), handicap 2-goal. If you thought the number #1 and #2 were the weak links, you have another thing coming when you see Stoick. He needs two men to lift him onto the horse and he can barely hold the mallet. It's embarrasing to be stopped by him is all that needs to be said

Ponies-

#1: Pony 1, Woody, age 8 (15 hands/164 cm and 504 kg) / Pony 2, Baseball, age 6 (15 hands/167 cm and 4195 kg)
#2: Pony 1, Boxer, age 6 (15 hands/168 cm and 494 kg) / Pony 2, Golden Glove, age 7 (15 hands/164 cm and 478 kg)
#3: Pony 1, Foxhunter, age 8 (15 hands/166 cm and 430 kg) / Pony 2, Silver Stream, age 5 (15 hands/155 cm and 461 kg)
#4: Pony 1, Bumblebee, age 5 (15 hands/148 cm 400 kg) / Pony 2, Weedy, age 6 (15 hands /145 cm and 404 kg)

Uniforms:
The Steppe Nomads request Saville to make uniforms for the team. We'd like a striped shirt, fern green and steel blue
1. I unashamedly copied Strommend's format, sorry, I was just void of ideas
2. I'll be going away on the 8th and don't think I'll be able to RP after then, so sorry if I stop RPing at some point
