Reunifying Furby Island after the Second Furbish Civil War in 1970 was tough because nationalism was strong among all citizens. Splitting into semi-autonomous Provinces and Territories has solved the problem. However, to some the problem still existed, just one step down. It all died down as people began showing pride towards Furby Island.
But the Southeastern Territories, a group of islands that is southeast from the mainland, haven't fully unified. About 30% of the population wanted a Communist government. Communist movements eventually died down, and only a small amount of people see themselves as Communist. But there is a terrorist organization, called the Southeastern Territories Red Army, or SETRA, that wants a Communist government not only in the Southeastern Islands, but in the entire Furby Island.
SETRA was founded in 2001 with the name People's Republic of the Southeastern Territories, or PROTSET. At first, they only organized protests and had a political party. They were very large, with 5% of the Southeastern Territories' population being members, and 15% more agree with their views. They began organizing boycotts in 2008. In 2011, they started riots and many other violent acts of protest. Support for them diminished after that, and many people started to turn away from Communism in fear of being associated with PROTSET. In 2015, during an economic collapse and large debt, they blamed businesses for it, despite there being no evidence to support that. Most leaders left shortly after, and changed their beliefs to Democratic Socialism. The new leader was an extremist, and he changed the name to SETRA and changed them into a terrorist organization.
SETRA set up a base in a large uninhabited island. They soon gathered manpower and took over large amounts of land, including the cities of Himatara and Lifulau. Their expansion has been stopped, but they are gathering manpower and making military equipment quickly. They are currently doing terror attacks on the city of Matauta.
Southeastern Territories troops were dealing with the terrorists. But suddenly, several acts of terror in Furby City were traced back to them. A plane narrowly missed the harbor and crashed into the ocean. Eleven cars attempted to mow down crowds civilians before the drivers were shot. Several people opened fire on civilians before getting shot. Three men were about to set off bombs in the Furby City Stock Exchange before being pinned to the ground by citizens armed with sabers and machetes. A total of 31 people died, with over 300 injured. Furby City declared a state of emergency, and thousands of troops were sent to the Southeastern Territories to end SETRA once and for all.
