Now their is no need to bring back family and friends.

I am torn over this news. On one hand, I always cringe a bit to hear of the fall of a longstanding dictatorship; the reasons for this should be obvious. I also think that democracy should rename itself "idiocracy," for it is all about who can persuade the most idiots to vote for him/her, and if this doesn't immediately result in an idiot taking power, it will come to that before very many elections pass. Idiots, after all, identify the most with other idiots - and the unfortunate truth is that most of the human masses fall into that category.

On the other hand, I despise communism, for it is nothing but a thinly-veiled way for the government to raid its own people and pull them into poverty. Domestic raiding is a drag on the economy, even here on Cybertron where it is openly legal, and the government should try to curtail it rather than become the biggest part of the problem. Raiding should be done to other countries, not one's own!

The combination of these reactions adds up to an overall neutral response from myself. I will not try to aid the commies in regaining power, and I congratulate you in throwing them out, but I will still urge you to avoid a move to democracy. Instead, you should put a proper, skilled dictator in power who will help you gain both loot and territory from those nations that are your inferiors. I strongly suggest myself for the position. I am an extremely experienced leader, both in terms of national leadership and military generalship. I'm also very much in favor of capitalism, so you can expect great prosperity with me in charge. Finally, I have very few rebels because I know what I'm doing. There are no boatlift-equivalents associated with my reign. My administration will propose the democratic 1940 Cuban constitution to parliament for its consideration, certain parts or all parts of the 1940 democratic constitution might be approved.

President Elián González: Very democratic, it was created by a constitutional assembly with 9 different political parties participating, from the right, left and center, including the communist party of the time.

José Díaz-Balart: Under what government was this democratic 1940 constitution constituted?

President Elián González: The constitutional convention was presided by Carlos Márquez Sterling, during President Federico Laredo Brú s' administration. The constitution was approved and constituted during the then democratically elected President Fulgencio Batista from oct 10 1940 to 0ct 10 1944.

and from oct 10 1944 to oct 10 1948 under President Ramón Grau San Martín. (whose family's descendants the o.p once personally met in Miami, it was a great personal honour).

and from oct 10 1948 to march 10 1952 under President Carlos Prío Socarrás, both of whom signed the 1940 constitution.

José Díaz-Balart: What happened to the democratic 1940 Cuban constitution?

In 1952 former President Fulgencio Batista overthrew the Government of President Carlos Prío Socarrás, and suspended certain parts of the 1940 Cuban constitution, via a constitutional act, but kept multi political party elections to the house of representatives and the senate, along with free enterprise,
freedoms of the press and religions.

During the government of President Fulgencio Batista, two 2 communists leaders served as Ministers in the government of Batista, Carlos Rafael Rodríguez and Juan Marinello, who later served Fidel.

The leader of the Cuban communist party of the time, Blas Roca signed the 1940 Cuban constitution, and once supported Batista and served as Fidel's President of the Cuban National Assembly CNAP.

Then Fidel and the revoltution for life, suspended all parts of the democratic 1940 Cuban constitution, after promising to restore the democrtatic 1940 Cuban constitution if he came to power.

By Presidential decree 09 their will be no presidential elections for President and Vice President of La Habana Cuba, after the national multi political party elections the Parliament will choose the President and Vice President of the Parliament and the nation to a 5 year term, their will be no presidential term limits.

First round multi Political party municipal council elections will be held on Sunday Oct 22 2017, second round municipal elections with the top two candidates will be held on Sunday Oct 29 2017, in those municipalities where the main candidates have not received at least 50 % of the vote plus one vote, municipal representative delegates, Mayors and Vice Mayors will be elected to a 5 year term. Provincial and national elections date to be determined and announced.

Alberto: well, I was at home sleeping, woke up about 3:30 in the morning, turned the TV set on, and their it was the news, Fidel is dead this time for real, this time for good.

Woke up the whole family to tell them the good news, Miami Shorerian Cubans were celebrating in front of the Versailles Restaurant and other parts of Miami as soon as they heard the good news.

We each drank a bottle of La Lllave Beck's Beer to celebrate, my house is on a main street, I stepped out the house for a few minutes in my pajamas, the cars passing by were honking their horns, they liked my pajama, and the good news too.

Alberto: my family and I did not join the crowds celebrating all over Miami that weekend, we stayed home most of the time glued to the TV set, watching the news in support, past and recent Cuban immigrants and their descendants, Young and old came out to support their fathers, mothers and grandparents, we are united, it was the main topic of conversation in cafeterias, restaurants, barber shops, grocery stores, stores, schools, businesses and homes all over Miami Shores.

Alberto: well José, the whole family gathered Friday at my cousin's house in Pembroke Pines Broward county Florida, like my cousin said, if we die at least we all die together.

José Díaz-Balart: How were you all prepared for Hurricane Irma?

Alberto: We had flash lights with batteries, lots of food, ham and cheese sandwiches, bottles of water, a 6 pack of beer and sodas. All the windows we're boarded up, except one on the stairway between the first and second floor, we could see the wind, the rain, the street and 5 houses across the street.

José Díaz-Balart: How did you all spend the time?

Alberto: We ate food, drank the six pack of beer, and played 24 Cubilete dice games, my cousin won 9 games, I won 5 games, other players won 4, 2 and 1 games.

José Díaz-Balart: What is a Cubilete dice game?

Alberto: We talked about the Cuba issue, the lack of freedoms in Cuba, the fact non Cubans who should care don't care, the limited supplies of this and that in Cuba, the lack of this and that in Cuba, a common issue of conversation in ethnic Cuban families, especially in a time like this, when we remember how good we have it compared to our families and friends in Cuba.

José Díaz-Balart: I see and understand, as an ethnic Cuban I can relate to that.

José Díaz-Balart: Did the lights go out at your cousin's house?

Alberto: yes they did, we lost power Sunday at about 2 PM, luckily my girl cousin (cousin's wife) cooked early and kept the food warm, as soon as the lights went out we all ate good, we also had ham and cheese sandwiches, cookies, bottles of water and other foods after the lights went out.

José Díaz-Balart: Alberto, did you go out on the street in your Pajamas again?

Alberto: Well José, actually I did, we all went outside in the middle of the street under the wind and heavy rain for 30 minutes during hurricane Irma and video taped it.

José Díaz-Balart: lol, i wish i could have video taped you in the middle of the street under that all that heavy rain and wind during hurricane Irma in your Pajamas, so I can share it with my viewers, lol.

José Díaz-Balart: sounds like you all had lots of fun during hurricane Irma, but the storm could have been worse and deadly?
