Czernogorian Referendum Results in Government Reform

Zoran Markovic
Czernogorian Radio Television

ANDRIJEVICA -- For over 50 years, Czernogoria has functioned as a socialist federal democracy, ever since the revolution that overthrew the puppet monarch installed by Austria-Hungary.

The people of Czernogoria were majorly employed in the agricultural and industrial sectors at the time, meaning that the country could truly profit from the socialist economic model.

With recent changes in the world economy, Czernogoria has seen a steady recession since 2000.

The average citizen spends approximately the same amount of money in black markets as they do in legal stores, raising the question of whether the Czernogorian government is truly serving its people.

In 2016, Czernogorians demonstrated their dissatisfaction by protesting, and calling for a referendum.

The government had approved the referendum, which ran during the past week and came up with interesting results that showed that the people of Czernogoria are wishing to relax government regulations, and allow for greater private industry to operate within the country.

President Vladimir Jakovljevic, who is in office for another 2 years, has taken the referendum seriously, and has already begun reforming the government.

Several state-owned companies have been sold and privatized, while the more important corporations are still mandated by the Andrijevica central government.

Czernogoria has been, surprisingly, one of the few governments to properly listen and respond to its citizens, changing everything from the capital city to the legal driving age.

TRANSYLVANIAN DOCTORS ON THE RISE

Image

Reeta Kilmore -
Transylvania International News

Doctors-- we all need them yet every time most of us see a doctor these days it is met with either one of two responses. We apologize for none are available or we apologize we have a waiting list of up to four hours. Fortunately for us however recent studies have shown that the number of Transylvanian Doctors being trained in our Country has increased by almost 53% in the past three years. Scores of people from the immigration crisis has made it virtually impossible to come up with a steady statistic on this but now that we have come to an agreement with the EU about vetoing the number of immigrants to the Transylvanian States. Things are looking up for the medical profession.

In other news:

-His Royal Highness the Prince departs for a state visit to Germany for further cultural relations improvement between chancellor Angela Merkel and the Transylvanian Government.

-The last veteran of the Transyl-Hungarian War, Col. Pavel 'Lucky' Luzaraski dies aged 108, officially the oldest veteran in Transylvanian history. A Full Military honours funeral will be held next Friday.

Northwest Yukon Border Dispute Arises

Rapid News Americas

ENNADAI -- After several years of disputes between Northwest Yukon and Canada, the town of Ennadai had run a suspicious referendum to annex itself to Northwest Yukon.

With the alleged support of 70% of the population, Ennadai and the surrounding area would officially become part of Northwest Yukon, if it were not for the Canadian authorities.

The Canadian military has been focused around the Northwest Yukon border for around a decade, and the government is not keen on losing more land to Yukon.

The Northwest Yukonese and Canadian leaders have not yet commented on the subject, but disagreement is expected over the hot subject.

Ennadai Incident Results in Open Warfare

Yesterday, the Canadian authorities authorized the armed suppression of the Ennadai Rebellion, which aimed to annex itself to Northwest Yukon.

The Northwest Yukonese government was appalled with the Canadian action, and immediately sent their own troops to the site.

The first encounter resulted in 25 Canadian casualties and 19 Yukonese casualties.

Currently, the governments have closed their embassies, and have cut all other ties including trade embargoes onto their opponents.

The civilian population of Ennadai has been told by the Canadians not to leave their homes, and to wait for rescue, while the Yukonese government has allowed them to roam, but with caution.

United Kennlind Party Presidential Primaries begin

Rowan Wilmore
Rapid TV Kennlind

Capital Bay, Kennlind -- Four speeches by four different candidates, announcing their intention to run for the United Kennlind Party's presidential nomination. The two front runners so far are incumbent president, Landon Meyer of the national conservative wing, and a leading figure in the Conservatarian wing, Assemblyman Felipe Castelo. Behind those two are the Amsenwolder Senator Willem Rannecker, and the pragmatic conservative and long time Assemblyman, Matthew Avery. There is still one days for candidates to announce their candidacy for the August 26th election, the most expected UKP figure to run is Drikberger Senator Philip Laark. Laark ran in 2013 and lost the nomination by just 32,000 votes out of a total of 982,000. While UKP membership has risen by 120,000 since 2013.

The first speech given was Landon Meyer, who announced his candidacy in front of a crowd of around 2,000 in the UKP Headquarters. Meyer pledged to continue Kennlind's economic growth, increased international cooperation and defend conservative values in Kennlind. He stated that under his presidency, crime has dropped, while the economy has grown. He stated he will do more to decrease unemployment, as he has only lowered it by 1.1%, just over half his target of 2% by his first term. Meyer warned against dangerous war-hawks such as Willem Rannecker, but didn't comment on any other candidates. In attendance, was his ex-rival, Ernst Coenen. Coenen was the last candidate knocked out before Meyer and Laark went head to head in 2013, coming in third place by around 80,000 votes. With vice-president Lucas Ricero-Mata retiring from politics at the age of 72, there have been rumors about who will succeed him. Coenen and Meyer were spotted drinking together recently, and have been seen many times talking to each other in a friendly way. It's expected that Coenen or if he drops out, Matthew Avery, will succeed Ricero-Mata.

Starting just minutes before Meyer's ended, Conservatarian assemblyman Felipe Castelo gave a short speech in the Michael Kilbery Building. Castelo has thought of running in 2009 and 2013, but now he's finally took the plunge. Castelo called for the rebirth of freedom and liberty in Kennlind, pledging to cut taxes, fight all calls for gun restriction, while at the same time defend the traditional values God bestowed upon the people of Kennlind. Castelo has a proven track record, the assemblyman and ex-Governor of Turigion Province, he lowered unemployment from 5.6% to just 1.2%, cutting taxes and lowering the minimum wage slightly. Castelo is the youngest candidate at just 49, and with six successful terms as an elected official, he has the best chance of ousting Meyer.

The other two speeches from neoconservative Amsenwolder senator, Willem Rannecker, and self described pragmatic conservative Matthew Avery, called for the defense and spread of conservative values, both citing Meyer's falling approval ratings as his lack of a mandate. Current polls suggest a first round majority may be possible for the UKP, a feat not achieved since 1972, when it won a sole majority in the Assembly. Rannecker called the dissolution of the Dutch Kennlind Party as a big mistake, and wants to reverse it and prevent any further devolution to regional branches. He also called for placing Haraka, who recently lost the Sahrajafan Council elections, on the terror watchlist for their promotion of armed insurgency in Sahrajafa.

Rapid TV Polls place the current standings and projections based on current polls like this;

  • Meyer - 36% - 40% - 53%
  • Castelo - 31% - 33% - 47%
  • Avery - 21% - 27%
  • Rannecker - 12%

Including Philip Laark
  • Meyer - 34% - 37% - 39% - 53%
  • Castelo - 25% - 25% - 35% - 47%
  • Laark - 17% - 22% - 26%
  • Avery - 15% - 16%
  • Rannecker - 9%
