The concept of homophobia doesn't exist in Zhouran. In fact, homosexuality as a concept didn't exist in ancient times as well. Instead, bisexuality had always existed in Zhouran since ancient times, most of which tend to be between men and rarely between women. Although bisexuality was not normalized in society in early times, people who held such sexuality were not ostracized, rather they were respected and treated as normal individuals. Sexuality in Zhouran tends to differ from the Western idea of sexuality as it was seen as something between two partners only. It is also the reason why Zhouranese people believe that the sexuality of an individual should remain to themselves and their partner(s).
As for the inane Western issue of same-sex marriage, because marriages in Zhouran have traditionally always been between a man and a woman, same-sex marriage doesn't exist in the country, however that doesn't mean two men or two women can't love each other.
The only known homophobic group in Zhouran are the small minorities of hardline fundamentalists within the Zhouranese Orthodox Church and various minority churches in the nation. The majority of Zhouranese people, all of whom are traditionalists, are quite passive and even friendly and accepting towards homosexuals, bisexuals and transsexuals. While Zhouran does not support same-sex marriage, this does not stop the average Zhouranese from being friendly towards the LGBT community.
According to a survey conducted by the Ministry of National Statistics, about 85% say that LGBT individuals should be respected while 15% say they shouldn't because of their sexuality.
