[Great Karoo]

The national animal of Great Karoo is the Springbok, which is a national animal shared with South Africa. It's represented on many provincial/municipal flags and coat of arms, as well as on the national flag.

The national animal of the Greater Siriusian Domain is the Siriusian Wildcat. This is not only because it's a culturally significant animal, but also because it's the closest living relative to Siriusians. They're actually semi-sapient and protected as such, and they are often kept as companions. Note that I didn't say pets - each individual Siriusian Wildcat kept as a companion has some say in the matter.

The Haast's Eagle was thought to be extinct in all parts of the world until Sleetavia was discovered by western explorers. The reason for the survival of these giant birds of prey is that a large chunk of them migrated to Sleetavia from New Zealand. To this day, they remain in the wild, and they are the largest living birds of prey to boot.

Although it has never been declared as such by any incumbent government, and therefore holds the title unofficially, Brellach's national animal is, and always has been, the horse. The horse, although historically important in many cultures, was doubly so for the Brellachi, many of whom remain members of nomadic tribes that eschew all the technology and therefore depend upon horses for their survival. Even the Divine Queen has a 'royal horse', which is both her companion and the only mode of transportation she can make use of.

The national animal of Ru is the Dragonfly, which can be found in all of Ru's 12 provinces and there are over 3,000 unique sub species in existance within the borders of our empire. The Dragonfly is also the symbol of Ru's dominant religion

The Portuguese Podengo is an ancient multi-sensory hound (sight and scent) breed of dog from Portugal. As a breed, the Podengo is divided into three size categories that are not interbred: small (Pequeno), medium (Medio) and large (Grande). Their coats are either short and 'smooth', or longer and 'wired'. The smooth coated variety is traditional, dating back to the 5th century, whereas the wire coated variety is an outcome of the assimilation of various other breeds during the 20th century. In general, the breed is healthy; the Pequeno (small) variety has an average lifespan of approximately 15–17 years.

All Podengo types are hardy, intelligent and lively dogs, excelling at agility and making fine companions. Loyal and fearless, Podengos are also good house guards and are amenable to training by dog experienced people and those that enjoy primitive (unrefined, "less domesticated") dog behavior.

Keen hunting dogs, the Podengo has an affinity for game regardless of size. Typically, the dogs hunt in a pack with their handler following. When game is found, they kill and retrieve it, or flush it towards the hunter to be shot. Each size category traditionally hunts game appropriate to their size and temperament. (Pequeno: rabbits; Medio: rabbits and wild boar; Grande: deer and wild boar).

The national animal of Vandario is the Great Grey Bear, a animal considered sacred in Sed Forfäder our national faith. While we do eat it, we don't herd them, if one wishes for their meats and furs, it must be taken in glorious combat. Fighting and earning the honor of what it has to give. In old times, holy warriors of the god Poltin, would wear their furs in battle.

[Kadur]

An extremely dangerous....er...creature. It lives in the plains of central Kadur, preying on large herbivores like deer or cows (If they manage to invade a farm). They hunt in packs of 10-20, and it is recommended that you stay away from them.
