What political parties generally run for office? Democratic, Republican, Environmentalist, Libertarian, and Independent
Which offices in the government are elected by the people and which are not? The Emperor, Parliament, and the five Supreme Court Justices are all elected by the people, whereas the justices on the Semi-Supreme Federal Courts are chosen by Supreme Court Justices
For the offices that are not elected by the people, how are those offices decided? There are five Supreme court justices and five lower Federal Courts that also have five justices. Each Supreme Court Justice gets to place one justice on each of the the five courts.

Does YN elect using popular vote or another method (i.e. the electoral college)? Popular vote
What political parties generally run for office? Liberal Party, Social Democratic Party, New Capitalist Party, Green Party, Anollasian Workers' Party, United Communist Party, New Pacifist Party, Conservative Party
Which offices in the government are elected by the people and which are not? Everybody other than judges and cabinet are elected by the people.
For the offices that are not elected by the people, how are those offices decided? Cabinet is appointed by the Assistant Prime Minister and approved by the Prime Minister. Judges are appointed by the Prime Minister, which then passes through a vote in the Council of Legislation (parliament), and approved by the Assistant Prime Minister if passed.
Which political party has won the most elections in YN's history? Anollasian People's Party (no longer existent)
Write any others stats, details, or comments here: We've had single-party elections for the first election (1760), then two parties for the next (1765). Multi-party elections first occurred in 1815. All parties other than the Military Party were suspended in 1886 and elections weren't held, due to the proclamation of a military dictatorship. In 1896, democracy was restored along with all banned parties. The office of Assistant Prime Minister was introduced as head of government and is elected by the people (doesn't have to be the same party as the head of state).

Does YN elect using popular vote or another method (i.e. the electoral college)? We use the method of parallel voting by MMM (Mixed Member Majoritarian).

What political parties generally run for office? As of April 20, there are now 27 legal parties running for offices:
  • Free Communist Party
  • The Socialist Party of Okstovskaya
  • Federal Party
  • Democratic Party
  • Liberty Party
  • Republican Party
  • The Okstov People's Nazi Party
  • Islamic Party
  • The Monarchists
  • The Privioj Green Party
  • 17 more

Which offices in the government are elected by the people and which are not?
All offices, excluding the Judiciary and Cabinet, are elected in a democratic way. The seats for state governors, plus local legislature and municipalities are elected inside their own respective city/town, and state.

For the offices that are not elected by the people, how are those offices decided?
Cabinet members appointed by the President-elect and the Prime Minister-elect, of which the People's Assembly and Parliament's approval and confirmation are required. For the Judiciary seats/offices, both the Assembly and Parliament will voluntarily partake on a private elections, of which it must hae approval from both the President and Prime Minister. After confirmations are now flattened, the public will have a referendum on whom in the list of selected government officials will be able to have that specific seat in the Judicial branch. The process usually takes up to 2 months, beginning on the day of national elections.

Which political party has won the most elections in YN's history? The Free Communist Party, winning 12 out of the 19 elections starting from 1900.

Write any others stats, details, or comments here:
Single-party elections have been implemented since the founding of the nation, until in 1922, when the People's Assembly has decided to allow multi-party elections due to a number of crises and scandals inside the Second Government. This has been completely changed during the August 1954 elections when the Authoritarian Party has completely taken over the elections, resulting to automatic winning. During their administration, the economy has imploded, the country if isolated, and a one-party socialist state has been implemented as the national political system. Their term has operated until 1971, when former President Kok Chep-hai was assassinated during the 123rd Founding Anniversary of the RSFSO. The current electoral system (parallel voting) was then immediately reinstated after the inauguration of former President Kyle Zimmer in 1975.

Does YN elect using popular vote or another method (i.e. the electoral college)? The Gaeltyn consists of 20 members called Tyrrns, who are each elected to represent one the 20 major settlements of Shalotte and their surrounding areas every five years - this is known as the 'Call of the Tyrrns'. Tyrrns win elections through a popular vote.

What political parties generally run for office? There are no political parties in Shalotte. Candidate Tyrrns state their own policies, canvass their local areas, and are elected individually.

Which offices in the government are elected by the people and which are not? All Tyrrns are elected by the people of Shalotte. The Mon'gaeltyn, the leader, is elected by the Tyrrns themselves from among their own number. By tradition, the Mon'gaeltyn is almost always the Tyrrn of Alauna, the capital, but there is no legal requirement for this to be the case.

For the offices that are not elected by the people, how are those offices decided? See above.

Which political party has won the most elections in YN's history? N/A

Write any others stats, details, or comments here: The structure of the Gaeltyn formed organically over a period of centuries, and is derived from the local 'parliaments' that each settlement used to hold every morning to decide upon the day's activities. Once the Gaeltyn was formally established by the Domnaeni to assist her in national governance in 1500, it became prudent for each settlement to have representation there. So a Tyrrn was usually appointed by the people during one of those daily meetings. No political parties were ever established because with only 20 Tyrrns, the group was simply too small. The process has become much more formalised over the centuries, with genuine elections now taking place across the islands, while the Domnaeni - the hereditary, absolute ruler of Shalotte - has devolved much of her power to the Gaeltyn, which is said to govern 'in her trust'. While the Domnaeni still retains absolute authority, and the Gaeltyn seeks her approval before enacting new laws, in practice the Gaeltyn is the principle power in the Royal Isles, making Shalotte a democratic nation in all but name.

Does YN elect using popular vote or another method (i.e. the electoral college)? Direct popular vote is used for election of the Grand Premier, although since 1998, if no one candidate has 50% of the vote, then there is a second round between the top two candidate. For members of the Civil Assembly(the lower house), a first-past-the-post system is used, as for 2/3rds of the Confederate's Council (the upper house). The remaining members are elected using a top up system. In local legislatures, a mix of systems are used, including proportional representation, and a couple of electoral colleges.
What political parties generally run for office?
Of the current parties that run for office, only three have ever had a plurality of seats nationally or a member of their party elected Grand Premier. These are the Social Democratic Party, the National Conservative Union and the Liberty Movement. Other parties who regularly win seats in national assemblies are the Destyni National Deliverance Party, the Freedom Party, the Denoric Freedom Party, the Liberté pour les Français party, the Environmental Communities Organisation and the Monarchist Party. Other minor parties include the Communist Party, the Reform Party, the Venduran Loyalist Party, the Regis Independence Party and the Leritia Independence Party.
Which offices in the government are elected by the people and which are not?
Only the Grand Premier is directly elected, although they pick their cabinet from members of the Civil Assembly, who have of course been elected, although not for that specific role.
For the offices that are not elected by the people, how are those offices decided?
Appointment (see above).
Which political party has won the most elections in YN's history?
The Reformist Party, which existed from around 1842-1920, won the most seats in the Civil Assembly 17 times, 14 of them majorities. This included a record 16 consecutive victories, covering a period from 1868-1910. In the Confederate's Council, they won the most seats 15 times, with 12 majorities. This Reformist Party is not to be confused with today's Reform party, who are more concerned with electoral reform, not social and economic reform.
The Social Democratic Party has won the most Assembly and Council elections of modern day parties, with 15 and 14 respectively, although they have never won a majority in either house. They have also won the most GP elections, even more than the Reformist Party, with 10.
