The Frojo War [OPEN/MT]

Postby Nocvep » Sun Apr 23, 2017 3:25 pm

All hell is breaking loose on the Nocvepian Colony of Frojo.

The island state was colonized fairly recently by the United Socialist States of Nocvep. The primitive natives seemed to live happily under the rule of the Red Party. When the revolt came, the Nocvepians were taken by surprise. The Free Army of Frojo fought many surprising and short battles- most of which were victories for them. After a month of fighting the shock warfare, the Nocvepian troops in Frojo were exhausted, confused, and under equipped to fight the locals, and retreated back to Nocvep on ships, leaving many technologies behind for the Frojoans.

The provisional government in Frojo sent messages to other colonies of Nocvep to wage warfare against the atheist-communist Nocvepians. Having enough of the propaganda against them, the Red Party of Nocvep decided to attack Frojo. A fleet bombarded Frojo's southernmost point, Fort Direpoint, for a whole day before the troops moved in to clean up the area and establish a forward operating base. The Nocvepian Crimson Army pushed on through the peninsula, but their advance was halted at the Bhurt Trench Line- a defensive position in front of a woodland area set up by local Frojoans, armed with equipment left by the last Nocvepians to have been on Frojo.

Image

Both parties sent out telegrams pleading for assistance in fighting for control of Frojo:

To any and all free nations, I am General Bhurt of the Free Army of Frojo. You may not know who we are- but we beg you to listen. The tyrannical imperialists of Nocvep have had us enslaved for years. We resisted, and liberated our brethren from them through guerrilla warfare, but the imperial beast awakens again- and this time, we are afraid that we will not be able to protect us and our children from their evil atheist regime. We plead with you to help us in any way you can, and you will be lifelong trade and military allies of the Free Island State Frojo! Our troops lack the equipment, training, and supplies to take Nocvep down. But with your help- we may be able to spread liberty and show that this evil state is unwanted on our island. Please, send aid soon.

The Red Party of the United Socialist States of Nocvep salutes you, brethren. You may have already heard- we have lost control of one of our vital colonies. The anti-socialist terrorists of Frojo have mercilessly slaughtered our troops in guerrilla warfare, and as if total control of their island wasn't enough, they spread lies about our communist agenda to other colonies. We have had no choice but to respond to the toxic radicals in the only language they understand- violence. We have taken a portion of the island by force, but now we are at a stalemate. The Crimson Army troops are afraid of the savages, for they abide by no rules. They torture, rape, and kill their own kind, and we need to put an end to it by educating them. This is why have contacted you, our allies. We request aid to take back the resource-rich island from the extremists, and we will reward you with portions of the island if we win. We await your assistance, comrades.

It's up to you now, who will you support? Will you aid the freedom-yearning natives of Frojo, support the United Socialist States of Nocvep in taking back control of the island, or maybe launch your own campaign to claim a chunk of the island for yourself, while the two sides fight their war? It is up to you to decide who wins this war of terror.

OOC: I will be controlling both parties, unless you want to control Frojo. In that case, just tell me and go ahead. There is no sign up for any of this.

Belligerents
Frojo Allies: Petz Confederation, Holy Empire of Belhorizon, Royal Commonwealth of Palmyrion
Nocvep Allies: The Colony of Zeclil
Neutral: United Socialist States of Povakia, Outer Sha-Renz

OOC: I would like to ask if humanoids, the petz in particular, are allowed to take part in this RP ?
If yes, I will not use my regular army, because it is based on PMT/FT tech, but I'll be able to send mercenaries and support that is in the MT level.

Imperial Intelligence Services Headquarters, Imperial City, 400 Km from Palmiersville

This is it. This is the day I'm going to get my own project.
Captain Janoodi tingled with excitement as he made his way across the hustle and bustle of the Operations Center. Eyeing two great silver doors at the far end of the oval room, he pushed on, holding onto his briefcase as tightly as ever.
As Janoodi emerged from the crowd, he found a member of the Imperial Guard blocking the door. Janoodi approached, and by unheard command, the guard ceremoniously stomped out of the way somehow prompting the two ornate doors to swing open.
He's been expected.

As the doors shut behind him, Janoodi was struck by the solemn silence that permeated the room, a marked contrast from the chaos of the Operations Center. The Captain has heard a lot about this room and its occupant, but today is the first time he received the honor to step inside. In front of him was an ornate desk, carved from the highly sought-after Belhorizoni Cedar wood. Janoodi only had a moment to admire the desk, situated in an otherwise simple office, for it was time to get to business.

Behind the desk sat Duke Obeid, the nephew of the Emperor. His presence in the building has been acknowledged among the officers and agents working for the IIS; but few have ever laid eyes upon this mythical being in person. It was rumored that those who have set eyes on him end up disappearing. Whether they disappear to a life of opulence or misery is entirely up to them.

"Your Highness.". Janoodi broke the solemn silence with a curt bow.

"I've been told you have something that requires the Emperor's approval." Obeid, a war-veteran weathered with age, doesn't have anymore life to waste.

"Yes, My Duke. Colonial revolt against a marked Communist government. My team has assessed that we are in position to assist that rebellion and gain a permanent military outpost from it. The Rebels would welcome permanent Belhorizoni military presence, after we help them win. We believe the Emperor will find this even more appealing since we can frame this conflict as a battle against Communism."

The Duke nodded. Janoodi continued,

"As for Military Assets nearby, we have the 6th Grand Fleet nearby. The carrier groups would need 2 weeks to reach the island if we give the order now. However, the forward ships are a 2 days away. One if we rush it."

Janoodi slid a stack of papers on the Duke's desk, detailing the ORBAT of the 6th Grand Fleet, then stood silently.
A minute passed. Then another. Five minutes. Ten. All the Duke did was stare and frown at the papers while the Captain stood firmly at attention.
Then suddenly,
"You have the Emperor's approval. Contact Admiral Benjabi and convey the necessary orders. Send the Guard in on your way out. I have a message I want to convey."

The Captain bowed and stepped out, the promise of a stellar career now within reach. All that was needed was a military base...

To: General Bhurt, of the Free Army of Frojo
From: Duke Obeid of Palmiersville, Imperial Minister of Foreign Aid and Development
Encryption: HIGH

General,
The Imperial Crown has taken note of your plight against the Communist scum.
The Imperial Crown, ever vigilant for the well being of all men, especially those subject under the Communist scourge, will not sit idly by as you fight for your freedom.
I have instructed our Naval assets to move towards your Island nation. A small detachment of ships attached to a larger fleet stationed in the area will be reaching Fort Hulo in one day. Be prepared to receive us.

Huff, huff, keep it together...

As usual, the Povakian States Building, a mess. Peesident Andro Pastov, great title, not-so-great job. He meticulously signs and passes and vetoes every bill that has been stacked on his table. But suddenly, his day is abruptly derailed as a phone call from Andrew Kurschachev, Povakia's Minister of Foreign Affairs. "Just another call," Andro said. But this was different. "Nocvep is in turmoil!" Andrew said. Andro Pastov was shocked! This is a communist nation, with a radical rebellion growing inside it. Upsetting either of the two would not end well for the nation, and not doing anything could start a full-on war. He declared a meeting of the three state councils. After a long and rambling session, the result was out. On the next day, Andro Pastov made one of the biggest speeches of his life. He stated in his own words:

"Povakia cannot afford a war with either party. Nor can she support one without upsetting the other. If our fellows wish to decimate each other, Povakia will not be a part of it! The decision has been made. Povakia shall send humanitarian aid to the war zone, but she will not put her boots in the mud, and wield weapons of war!"

Yep, you can use humanoids because I'd like to keep this limited to Modern Tech.

General Stormov sat at a table in the air raid bunker at Fort Direpoint, planning the Crimson Army's next move. Several tacticians sat around the table as well, examining the map of Frojo. Suddenly, Stormov got up and drew a red arrow along Redth Bay. "We will strike at Hammerhold," he said, "if we get a bigger foothold on the south of the island, we can force the Redth peninsula into our hands as we pincer the guerrillas."

One of the tacticians looked skeptical. "General, Hammerhold was one of our strongest forts when we had control of the island," he said as he got up, "attacking it won't be easy. They've got anti-air batteries there, and machine guns will mow down our troops as they try to go uphill to the fort. How do you suppose we can attack this position from the sea?"

"We will do the same thing we did to capture Direpoint," replied the General, "bombard the fort for a day, then send in the troops to clean up. You know what they say about military strategies, 'If it's not broken, don't fix it.'" The skeptical tactician nodded in agreement, and sat back down to his seat around the table.

Suddenly, a Crimson Army runner burst through the door to the bunker. "Radio transcript from the front line, general. The tanks are in position for the blitzkrieg," he said, out of breath. General Stormov smiled at the news.

Frojo

"We've got a telegram response the Holy Empire of Belhorizon, general," said a Free Army of Frojo lieutenant as he ran into the command room, "They will help us destroy these communist pigs."

General Bhurt smiled, the thought that there are others in the world fighting against the communist regime was reassuring to him. "Excellent news, Higgs. When are they arriving?"

"One day, sir. Fort Hulo."

"Prepare the troops stationed there," said Bhurt, "One more thing, Higgs. I've discussed with my advisors... we've decided to attack Direpoint with a small fleet from Hammerhold. Two destroyers and a battleship will be heading there tomorrow, you better tell the admiral." Lieutenant Higgs nodded and left the command room, leaving the general alone.

Just after the end of the tactical discussion between General Bhurt and the lieutenant, the general received two encrypted messages.

The first one:
Code: Select all

Our bank account is 0001-PBM-568-15040 !

And the second one:
Code: Select all
CHANNEL 175094
-----------------------
SENDER: Petz Mercenary Office
RECEIVER: General Bhurt
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

General Bhurt,

The Petz Mercenary Office would like to offer you support with professional mercenary trainers and groups. Currently the following mercenary groups will be most suitable for your operations and training of your combatants:

•   Alpha: 200 members (all former Spec Ops)
•   Blitzkrieg: 500 members (of them 325 are former army soldiers)
•   The Butchers: 75 members (of them 20 are former army soldiers), extensive use of melee weapons

It is up to your choice which group (or perhaps all) to hire and for what purposes. Respectively the first mercenary group (Alpha) is the most expensive, while the last one is the cheapest. When you are ready with your choice you can send a coded message using CHANNEL 175094 with your answer.

Imperial Intelligence Services Headquarters, Imperial City, 400 Km from Palmiersville

Captain Janoodi clasped his hands behind his back as he stared at the big blue screen in front of him. He admired the detail of the imagery being delivered to him. He's not used to working with such ample resources, let alone requisition his own satellite, but here he was. His increased power gave him a certain sense of...anticipation. But the present beckons. Janoodi threw one last glance at the 6 greyish dots drifting across the blue background then turned to one of his aides, Lieutenant Masrawi.

"State ORBAT."
"4th Squadron of the 6th Grand Fleet, Sir. Composition of six ships. Flagship, a battle cruiser, under the command of Captain Hansayi, the IBN Jasameen.
He's accompanied by two N-14B Destroyers, the IBN Palmarien and the IBN Obeid. The Nuclear Submarine, IBN Batrana in addition to a supply ship, the IBN Masta; and an Amphibious Transport Dock IBN Partooshi. The squadron carries a complement of 700 Marines, and carries 9 rotor-wing aircraft."

"Very well. What's the ETA on the Grand Fleet?"
"13 days, Sir."
"Very well. Order the Captain to keep his submarine well dissimulated. Other than that, we need to make sure our presence is known to the Communists. Order an attache to the Foreign Ministry to leak news of our deployment to the Nocvepian press. Have them spin it as a fight against communism."
"Yes Sir."

OOC: I'll make the arrival tomorrow, to keep the place slow as this starts up.

Snaketounge Mountains, Frojo
Day One After Deployment

The first Povakian Humanitarian Aid Divison sent to Frojo. 20 men and women, all aboard a single truck. Their destination? South Frojo.

"I cannot believe that we have to go through here! We are not enemies for both of 'em!" Shouts Mikhail Demechev, the youngest of the 20. "Hey you, if we were driving through "warland" like we will be in a couple hours, we'd all be ducking under our chairs, with shells flying by," states Vladimr Kurko, a war veteran.

Unfortunately for the 20, he was right. Mission statements given prior to them always stated "death possible" or a similar phrase at the end. The shrill thought of demise cracked through their heads, and discussion ceased, hopefully until they would reach their destination.

But once again, fate had other plans for them.
The truck slammed to a halt. "Why?" The nineteen soldiers not driving the truck collectively asked. "'Tis because of him," their driver, Maxwell Santos, also the only foriegner on the truck. He then pointed at a downed man in the middle of the road. Demechev quickly jumped out to inspect. The man had a pulse. They hauled him in and put him on a bed. He was found to be a Necovep soldier, with some pretty seriois injuries. 20 painstanking minuites of hard concentration and constnat resucitation later, he woke up.

ZECLIL ANNOUNCES MILITARY SUPPORT FOR NOCVEP

High Leader Lorence Goldchester has announced that the 3rd and 5th Zeclilan Expeditionary Forces will be deployed to the colony of Frojo to support the forces of Nocvep. In order to provide fire support, the Zeclilan Expeditionary Forces will avoid frontline combat as much as possible until modern equipment is available. 400mm S.17 Railway Guns have been deployed to fire on areas of high enemy concentration.

General Custer Mayur of the 4th Expeditionary Force has been deployed to Frojo to lead the Zeclilan Forces. Handerson Steam Tanks have also been deployed to serve in a security role. Further military support is expected to arrive later.

The ZNS Evangelical has been deployed as the flagship of a ten ship squadron to provide fire support.

Frojo
The General Bhurt read over the two encrypted messages sent by the Petz Confederation in the safety of his office in the capital. He put down the transcripts, and started writing his own letter.

Code: Select all
CHANNEL 930815
-----------------------
SENDER: General Bhurt of the Free Army of Frojo
RECIEVER: Petz Black Market International Information Center
--------------------------------------------------------------------------

The Free Army of Frojo acknowledges and accepts this offer. The Frojoans need to be trained and equipped with weapons for the coming red threat. However, Frojo is lacking the funds to immediately pay for these services. Instead, Frojo would like to pay with its many vast resources- our mines are rich in iron and coal, and the tar sands near Fort Autumn are filled with oil fields from the old days of Nocvep. We will pay with these natural resources while the war lasts, and when the war is won, we will attempt to stabilize our economy to pay out for any final debts. We are, however, sending a small fund of $100,000 Nocvepian Sovznaks to your bank account at 0001-PBM-568-15040 to negate the first few expenses and as a symbol of trust.

Just then, Lieutenant Higgs burst through the door. "Sir, bad news from the Bhurt Trench Line."

Nocvep
Lt. Colonel Asimov looked on through binoculars at the carnage that was ensuing at the Bhurt Trench Line. Gunfire and shelling could be heard even from where he and his troops were stationed, in the desert between Fort Direpoint and the defensive line. T-14 tanks steamrolled over the trenches and the men in them while enemy machine gunners were powerless to help their friends. All the while, Sukhoi-35 jets provided air cover for the ground force. The tanks charged through the artillery positions and disappeared into the forest, the Frojoans confused and powerless to stop them. A voice came into the colonel's earpiece, "We've pushed into the forest, colonel. You're free to go and clear out the trenches, but we're going radio silent in case they've got listening posts out here."

Asimov turned around to his battalion and motioned them to go forward as the Sukhoi jets soared overhead back to their aircraft carrier about a hunder nautical miles off the coast of Frojo. The two tanks accompanying the men rolled forward to lead them towards what remained of the trench line.

Meanwhile, a wounded Crimson Army soldier somewhere in a desert in the Redth peninsula wakes up to see many faces he doesn't recognize crowded around him. His eyes widen in fear and he yells, "No! Please!" in his native Nocvepian tongue.

Red Party
We have already attempted peace talks with the extremists. They refused to cease making vile statements about our communist agenda and spread lies to our other colonies that live happy lives, to try and instigate a revolution. Statistics from the World Census have shown that over 43% of Frojoans live in poverty now- compare that to the 13% while we had control of the island. We do not suppress any opposition, we are not corrupt. The reason other colonies haven't revolted is because they know that Nocvep gives them freedom, wealth, and safety. The time for diplomacy has gone. The Free Army of Frojo has had it's chance for words- now we respond with violence.

Free Army of Frojo
There is no point conducting peace talks with a nation as corrupt, bureaucratic, and vile as The United Socialist States of Nocvep. They have silenced any political opposition from their colonies- that is why they all seem so happy. We broke the system and revolted. We simply urge other oppressed colonies to speak their mind about the current regime. Now that Nocvep has seen the danger that we bring to their atheist-communist regime by speaking out against the oppression, they have invaded our island in an attempt to silence us. We will not stand to be oppressed again by the imperialists. The time for diplomacy has gone. The Red Party has had its chance to talk freedom with its colonies- now we defend our rights with violence.

No funds are to be directly supplied to either side, only medical supplies and doctors to wounded civilians.

You can hire mercenary groups if you contact the mercenary office using their channel - 175094 . We understand your current financial struggle and are willing to return the 100,000 Nocvepian Sovznaks if you decide to hire mercenaries to train and reinforce your army.

We are currently dispatching one of our black market districts to reach Fort Autumn by sea. The fleet commander will contact your border operatives once the fleet gets close to the fort.

Movement in the North

Postby Outer Sha-Renz » Tue Apr 25, 2017 3:54 pm

It had been almost an hour since the Office of the Chancellory had received the report on the ever escalating conflict on the rebellious colony of Frojo. Seeing as the Sha-Renzian military and executive branch were separated, Air Marshall Harken had been awaiting word from the Chancellor in the War Room while the politicians debated away in a separate chamber. He had presented his opinion and analysis of the situation; it was only rational that the Chancellor take himself to a remove room to consider the nation's options, whatever they were to be. Following the logical tendencies indoctrinated into each Sha-Renzian child, being that knowledge is prize above most all else in that land, the Air Marshall did not mind the wait.

And his patience was well rewarded...

Before day's end there was a flurry of activity at Fort Bethel, one of Outer Sha-Renz's border forts. The permission had come from the Chancellor himself, and the orders from none other than the Air Marshall Harken in the flesh. While Sha-Renz was no great military might, there was one element that they could depend on: the air. While scaled back in other branches, the Sha-Renzian air force was a fully capable asset indeed, albeit a small one. Yet as the air members (both pilots prepping their mechanical transports and the Aerial Siege-Breaker Commandos to be loaded unto said transports) scurried to prepare, there was an air of the unknown about. For the Air Marshall had given little in ways of order, only that the 5th Airborne Company was to head for Goro Citadel. Many a soldier was baffled by this vague move, so far from the present conflict, but faith of a kind, the kind of faith in corporeal men and women rather than an ethereal deity, was held that the orders would come when they needed to.

Until they did, the 5th Company was to set flight for Frojo, for Goro Citadel, and whatever may follow.

THE PROLETARIAT TRUTH
Fear And Loathing on Frojo!

Image

Citizens of Nocvep, beware! Recent research by the Ministry of Information shows that the anti-socialist extremist group under the name 'Free Army of Frojo' has been getting support by the fascist religious state known as The Holy Empire of Belhirozon! The Red Party has suspected that the insurgents were backed by an anti-communist group. But now, the question is- will our glorious Crimson Army be able to crush these iron fist oppressors? The answer is uncertain, however another nation state is coming into play. Following the signing of the Transcontinental Colonial Pact in Rupeslonga, Zeclil and Nocvep have become great allies. This may be a turning point in the war, as Zeclil announced military support for our righteous cause. Once the terrorists and fascists have been dealt with, Zeclil and Nocvep will spread wealth and happiness throughout Frojo. However, it all comes down to you, the people. Your comrades are fighting- are you doing your part?

Meanwhile, Crimson Army troops on Frojo...

Lt. Colonel Asimov's battalion walked on through the forest, following two tanks. They had cleared out and secured the Bhurt Trench Line of the remaining insurgents quite easily, taking prisoners where possible. Now they were following the path that the Blitzkrieg tanks opened up for them through the forest. The mood was quite solemn, this was the first time some of the Crimson Army soldiers had seen real combat, outside of training missions. Without warning, the tanks stopped dead in their tracks, halting the whole convoy of men.

Asimov walked up to the front tank and knocked on the hatch. It slowly opened up and a tank crewman peeked out. Asimov looked annoyed. "Hey, what's the hold up?" he asked.

"Trail ends here, colonel. There's something up ahead too, can't make it out from here," replied the confused tanker. The lieutenant colonel squinted to see what was up ahead. There was a large black shape hidden behind the trees, after the trail went cold. He motioned for a couple of soldiers behind the tank to follow him.

They walked through the muddy forest ground to examine the anomaly. As they got closer, they made it out. A burnt, crumbling shell of a tank lay in a ditch. Around it lay charred bodies, presumably burnt as they tried to escape the tank disaster. As the lieutenant examined the bodies, he could hear a soldier belch behind him. They were burnt to a crisp- but he could make out the crimson army insignia on one of their armbands. They were Nocvepians. "Jesus christ..." muttered a female officer beside the colonel. Suddenly, a brutally cut up body of a dead Nocvepian fell from the trees above.

"What the-" an unexpected eruption of gunfire all around the convoy cut a young Nocvepian off. Crimson Army soldiers fell over onto the floor lifelessly as they tried to return fire at the unseen force. A tank tried to turn its turret, but a rocket-propelled grenade scored a direct hit on its motor, immobilizing it. The Nocvepians had recovered from the initial shock of the attack, and began firing back at what they could now identify as Free Army of Frojo guerrillas. The female officer shut down the rocket launcher-wielding FAF troop with a quick shot to the head, but the bloodbath continued as more and more Crimson Army troops fell over into pools of their own blood. Lt. Colonel Asimov fired at a guerrilla before running back towards the convoy, "Retreat! Fall back to the trench line, goddamnit!" he yelled as another soldier next to him fell face first into the mud, motionless.

Frojo Capital
The day was getting better and better for General Bhurt. He had just finished sending a request for the Blitzkrieg Petz mercenaries when he heard news of the successful ambush on the Nocvepians in the Redth peninsula.

"5 tanks destroyed sir, over 70 dead communists with that. Compared to our 24 dead guerrillas in the forest, sir, I think that's a win for us" reported Lieutenant Higgs.

"An acceptable trade. If we keep fighting like this, we'll get these bastards off our island," chuckled the general, "You see Higgs, theres a big difference between us and them. We are willing to fight to the last man, to fight to the death for our freedom. I'm betting they'll just dip after the first thousand casualties."

"I'd hope so, general."

"Yes, anyway, the battleships. Are they ready?" the general's happy mood quickly gave way to one that meant business.

"Yes sir. Two destroyers and a battleship are ready to be sent out from Hammerhold to capture Direpoint. We will also coordinate an attack from the forest to try and regain the Bhurt Trench Line..." Higgs reported as he drew a line on the map of Frojo, "It's a flawless plan."

"Excellent. Attack as soon as possible, we wan't to capture the Bhurt Trench Line while they are still recuperating from that ambush in the forest," General Bhurt smiled. With the great progress they were making with foreign relations, the commies would be off the island in no time.

The Petz Black Market fleet was now en route to Frojo. It consisted of a dozen cargo ships and tankers that were escorted by smaller military-equipped civilian vessels. The cargo ships were full of containers, crates and sailcloth covered equipment. Their final destination was Fort Autumn, though the petz didn't know if it was a fortified city or a city and a fortified position near it, or perhaps it was really just a simple fort. The fleet commander and the district's boss as well, Gardar Letruz, wasn't worried about it too much. He wasn't expecting anything in particular, just whatever the fate throws at him and his men.

In the meantime the petz mercenaries from the "Blitzkrieg" group requested arrival coordinates from General Bhurt. They needed to know whether they would dock in a port, or land on an airfield.

Zeclil Announces Operation Sanguine Rain

Image
400mm S.17 Railway Guns have launched volleys of HE ammunition into the forests. Operation Sanguine Rain is an operation to disperse locations of potential enemy activity. Due to the struggles of Guerilla Warfare the Zeclilan forces have remained on the edges of the forests. Ten Handerson Steam Tanks and four Handerson Mark III Tanks have been dispatched to conduct runs through the forest. The tank squadrons are accompanied by Mannorton Machines carrying ten riflemen each and at least three 12.7mm Heavy Machine Guns or a 3pdr Automatic Cannon.

Soldiers armed with flamethrowers have also been moved into the forest, clearing out heavy undergrowth.

The Evangelical Squadron has arrived off the shore of Frojo and have been stationed there until a new task is assigned.

OOC:
  • Can we have a map with an overview of each sides' forces?
  • Nocvep, can you make a list of who's supporting who?

Ever since the Royal Commonwealth became a subject of the Grand Theocracy, everything has never been the same.

The Lakán is now a mere satrap to what might be a stratocratic Palmyrion, and the word "stratocracy" - or "stratokrasiya" as it was known - reminded them of the oppressive communist rule. During the communist rule, the People's Commonwealth used to be highly imperialistic, taking the Protectorate of Palawan and trying to invade the Scientific Mandate, the latter with disastrous results, and enslaving the entire populace to a military-industrial complex that was demanded of Palmyrion's "Red Man's Burden" back then.

This time, it would be a stratocracy under a capitalist rule.

The Royal Commonwealth had seen its defense spending go up to 12%, up from the 9% that it had last 2016 - a 33% increase. This was all due to a rapid modernization involving pieces of up-to-date equipment that haven't even seen battle to prove their mettle, if not a military exercise involving live rounds and a real enemy butting in. Not to mention a massive recruitment drive for the military and a training phase that crammed more skill to every recruit. The Royal Commonwealth was becoming a de facto stratocracy, something that the Royal Family of Palmyrion, the Lockehearts, had tried to avoid since the end of the Third Civil War.

In the dimly-lit war room in the underground bunker of the Royal Citadel sat one man, Lakán Alexander II, and five others, the commandants of the Palmyrian Royal Armed Forces. The interactive table in front of them glowed a peaceful shade of sky blue - that is, the color of the waters in the littoral areas of the island of Frojo, as well as the blue water surrounding it. It was from a satellite photo sent 8 hours prior to this very meeting, with CID (Central Intelligence Directorate) highlighting spots of interest, like suspected enemy troop concentrations, motor pools, air bases, artillery batteries, anything. Of course, anything in the forests would be well-hidden...unless via thorough screening by napalm and Agent Orange of Civil War-era Palmyrion.

"Your Majesty, this is going to be an easy battle. Two MSRs (Marine Strike Regiments) and two Carrier Strike Armadas sent and we can go home." said the Supreme Commandant.

"MSRs 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 15, and 17 are ready for deployment from Palawan, Your Majesty." the Commandant of the Marine Corps said with a monotone voice as he sipped water from a glass cup with a steel bottom.

"Once the island is independent, we might have to secure it from future Nocvepian and allied incursions, so the army and the air force will also have to pitch in some helpings..." His Majesty Alexander II said as he rubbed his chin, elbow placed on the interactive table.

"We'll have to. Definitely. A large base near the Frojo capital will do - we'll have to house three fighter squadrons, a squadron of bombers, an attack squadron, a reconnaissance squadron, and an AWACS flight. Not to mention nearly 20,000 from the army." the Lakán said.

"With all due respect, Your Majesty, we need two. Two large bases, one near the capital of Frojo and one near...somewhere in the western portion of the island. Double the amount of aircraft if needed." the Supreme Commandant said.

The monarch placed his right leg over his left and leaned to one side, as he said "If you guys want me to sign a formal declaration of support, I'll do it now. In the meantime, I'll have to write a telegram to the Free Army of Frojo."

TO:General Bhurt
Commander, Free Army of Frojo

Dear General Bhurt,

Greetings, General Bhurt! I am Lakán Alexander II of the Palmyrian Royal Commonwealth.

Since the end of the Third Palmyrian Civil War, Palmyrion has had a staunch opposition to communism and socialism, being that it strives to promote laziness and mediocrity, and if mishandled is far worse than capitalism. One can only count with the fingers of the 300 million souls who died in that Civil War the amount of lives scorched in heart and mind as their loved ones fell to the bullets of the Palmyrian People's Army.

It is saddening to see yet another country fall to the grip of communism, plunging into the shallow mouth of a destructive chasm that will bring long-term, if not irreparable, harm. It is even more saddening that a nation fell into communist imperialist rule, deceived by the central brainwash wave radiator machine that is Nocvep and communism.

I have no more time for further embellishing, so let me end it here. I would like to offer you support in this war, in the form of a combined, yet classified, force of our army, navy, air force, and marine corps. You have the Royal Commonwealth's support - the support of one of the most militarily powerful nations in the world today, a sleeping dragon arising from its slumber.

Sincerely Yours,
[digitally signed]

A Fair Arrival

Postby Outer Sha-Renz » Wed Apr 26, 2017 12:02 pm

The briefing had come in, at last, as the 5th Aerial Company was only a few clicks out from Goro Citadel. And now, now the selection of that locale made sense to Captain Lowell. Mirroring the message of intent that would soon take the public stage, the Captain, riding secure in the belly of his aerial transport, the briefing from the Air Marshall enumerated Goro Citadel not only as a strategic staging point (as the Sha-Renzian force would be ill suited to the forest combat in the south, and the dry, sparser, and clearer terrain where they were set to land would provide the proper employment of their, admittedly specialized, airborne assets) but also one of ideological importance, moral importance. As Lowell now understood, the conflict largely concentrated to the south was perceived by the upper echelons of the government as a fire or sorts, and so perceived that if further flung portions of the island could be secured, the civilian population could be better protected and the fire my burn itself out.

That was the hope, at least.

"The brass does realize we gotta fight in earnest at some point, right? And then it'll have to be on a side." The question from a young Commando did no shock the Captain. It was on all their minds. Sure, the present course of action made sense, but it only looked so far forward.

"Soldier, that's not the matter at hand," Lowell raised his voice so all might better hear and opened comms to the other aerial vessels in the Company, "so listen up. Our primary duty is civilian security and establishment of a firebase from which we may proliferate such security to an increasingly anarchic situation. Don't get me wrong, we will likely see action. But first steps first, men and women, as you can't worry about tackling the submit when you've just starting climbing."

The Captain paused. He did not expect a chorus of agreement or approval. Such expression were uncommon in Sha-Renzian custom. Instead, he knew very well the soldiers under his command were evaluating the logic in his statements. Silence, then, was a greater sign of agreement than any cheer could ever be.

"Sir," one of the pilots patched in to the Captain's comm link, "we'll be over land soon. The aircraft carrier Hephaestus and its escort attachment are inbound with the heavy equipment and fuel requested."

Good. Excellent even. Captain Lowell would have a temporary base of operations in the form of the Hephaestus. For the moment, all there was to do is lean back, and wait, wait for the public declaration of intent from his own nation, heralding the way for the 5th Company to Frojo.

It is a solemn day, with a solemn duty in mind and heart, that I come bearing word from the Chancellor himself on a matter most dire. Conflict and death plague the island of Frojo, rebels and federal troops both meeting their ends. While our Protectorate, our nation of Outer Sha-Renz, champions peace and pacifism when ever able, sometimes the stick must be used to ensure that future. This is the moral sacrifice the men and women of our armed services are about to make. And it is moral end, and so moral redemption, that they will achieve in our military deployment, not for conquest, not for gain, but for the security of innocents that are the truer victims of this conflict, pawns thrown casually aside in a twisted game, for power is ever a game. As such, with the Chancellor's authority, I have authorized the 5th Aerial Company and all its support units to deploy to the island, and aid in the security required for the peoples that call those lands home. Further, I urge the rebels and regime officials both to see the logical end of our mission here, and to rally to that end, as then we would lend ourselves to the true champion of the people of the island, the true protector and guarantor of their safety, for we are but a foreign power, and cannot remain in Frojo forever. Endurance Aetorno.
