Tourism in New Edom

[New Edom]

This thread is not a storefront, but is intended to determine how many tourists, on average, visit New Edom from foreign countries. It is information intended to be compiled by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Tourism.

Basic Tourism Information

1. New Edom is a sub-tropical country for the most part, it tends to be warm and ranges from humid to dry.

2. The main resorts are Quality Bay and the New Jewel Resort. These resorts include hotels which are of international quality, shuttles which can be chartered or car rentals and gated communities surrounding the resorts. These resorts have excellent white sand beaches. Windsurfing, scuba diving, swimming and snorkeling are possible. Each resort has an outdoor mall, tennis and badminton courts, swimming pools, spas and golf clubs. Each features a night club as well.

3. Calafia is a city north of the resorts which is very tourist friendly. It has many outdoor markets, a yacht club, a large beach which is more gravelly than the southern beaches. There are cliff rocks along the coast that are nesting grounds for birds and sea lions. Farther off within small boating distance are reefs and rock islands that are migration and breeding areas for many species of fish including sharks and rays. These islands have been designated protected areas and special permits are needed to visit them.

4. New Edom has a large amusement park in the cit of Nass called Bird City Fun World which features roller coasters and other amusement park rides, and has a bird theme because of its mascots which are Terror Birds.

5. New Edom has exotic ancient fauna including Terror Birds of a variety of species from the Lesser Griffon, about the size of a large stork, to the giants that are up to 9 feet tall! There are also marine sloths, giant armadillos, ladder horn antelope, river metatheres and moa like birds called Great Waders. Also visit the capybara and plains beaver farms! Hunting includes deep sea fishing and big game hunting.

6. The capital city of Fineberg has a Royal Opera House that regularly has excellent classical music. The Fineberg Zoo features many of the native exotic animals.

7. New Edom has a pro-naturist population for the most part in the Provinces of Teman, Bara and Haran. It is possible for people who come from naturist/nudist countries to travel without restriction, or for those who practice this in private to do so as well.

8. New Edom has three universities that are up to international standards but are cheaper.

Getting to New Edom

It is possible to get to New Edom by cruise ship, plane or dirigible.

Restrictions:

Foreigners traveling to New Edom may only be armed if they are going on a hunting tour or have a special dispensation (ie bodyguards for diplomats).

It is against the law to blaspheme or slander the character of New Edom's monarchs.

A recent study went through most, if not all people on flights to your nation along with a few other people that have been to New Edom in the government, businesses etc. All together, the Ministry of Demographics surveyed around five thousand people.

1) On average, 98.34% of New Edom visitors and sightseeing tourists. This is compared to 1.66% hunters.
2) 89.29% of New Edom tourists are nature-lovers, meaning they go to your nation for the environment.
3) A rented cottage makes up 1% of preferred accommodation, 32% rented villa and 63% hotel... leaving 4% other.
4) The Ministry of Demographics surveyed all Cuban Syrians that reside at New Edom universities, and the university of Lookinghaven is the most popular. However, only 82% of students that study at this university actually enjoy it.

Actually when we say 'anturism' we actually mean nudism. Naturist travel refers to people who prefer to be able to do some kinds of recreation unclothed. It is no longer vital that people visiting New Edom remove clothing, but your tourists are likely to see naked foreign tourists and naked Edomites at a number of the places they visit. It is no longer ubiquitous everywhere but it is common enough that your people will expect to see it, especially at places like beaches, swimming pools, spas and so on.

1. The split is approximately 20% hunters to 80% ecological or sightseeing tourists; the Shalumite government maintains strict regulations in regards to foreign game hunting and what trophies can be brought back.

2. This is not something that the Imperial government necessarily keeps track of, but if we had to make an estimate, somewhere in the range of 10% as a low to 30% as a high. Much of Shalum is not conducive to naturistic views, given cooler weather conditions in the northern hemisphere; there are, however, some nude beaches and nudist groups that can be found in warmer coastal areas of Shalum. Given the welcoming environment of New Edom, we could predict an uptick in visiting Shalumite naturists.

3. The average stay for middle class families is a week's time, or perhaps a little more. Upper middle class may stay for two weeks or more during the summer or winter months. Some of our wealthy and nobility may be interested in even longer term vacations, or perhaps even renting (or purchasing) some kind of vacation home if that would be acceptable to the Edomite government.

4. Most middle class families (and even lower class that can afford vacations to New Edom) will most likely be found in hotels. Upper middle and the wealthy of Shalum will most likely be inclined towards better, more luxurious accommodations such as what are found at: resorts, cottages, and villas.
