That's not how military modernization works. It's not as simple as "imma buy me new weapons and destroy the old ones". A military can't just easily modernize that quickly, it takes decades. Look at China and Russia for example, they have modernized their militaries well but still lag behind the US. As for North Korea, they barely left the 1970s and are heading towards the 1980s in 2017.22 years prior to the invasion of North Korea and China, the Grand Duke of Upper Secundus (at the time) passed a motion to modernise the weaponry of the Royal Armed Forces of Upper Secundus (RAFUS). This led to the purchase of several million Heckler & Koch G36 Assault Rifles, the order only being completed 3 months prior to the invasion.
No. You can't just simply buy millions of expensive assault rifles in such a short time. Except of course H&K has thousands of factories (which no defense companies have). The RAFUS also modernised their uniform (which for some reason was ancient Roman Legionary Armour) to something a lot more modern with Kevlar lining for limited protection from handguns.
Roman armor, even right until the modern age? Also modern field uniforms don't have kevlar lining, they would have to wear at least light body armor with kevlar for limited protection against handgun cartridges. This attempted coup was unacceptable and so, in spectacular fashion, launched a surprise offensive in China and later, North Korea.
Invading a nation of a billion people isn't simple. Heck, not even Japan could fully occupy China during WW2. It doesn't matter if you have a really big army, it's still an almost-impossible task since you have to control a large landmass with a large population. The plan of attack for China was to use Blitzkrieg tactics to invade Beijing from the Occupied Territory of Shanghai with a small force of 2 million that were flown in from Upper Secundus. They would hold Beijing and capture as many Chinese Government and Military personnel as possible while
holding the city and waiting for a reinforcement of 9 million invading from the Vassal State of Mongolia. The operation would take approximately 2 and a half years, but was completed in 4 due to
heavy guerilla fighting. Bombing runs took place from 5 heavily guarded Upper Secundian Aircraft Carriers onto key Chinese military bases and possible nuclear and ballistic missile silos.
Since Blitzkrieg involves maneuvers, how would you manage to transport millions of men in such a short timeframe? You do know that every military transport, from air to land and to sea, involves maintenance and refueling, which means you need gigantic resources just to feed your massive war machine. The Chinese Government finally gave up and surrendered. The harsh reparations absolutely ruined the Chinese economy
Why would the Chinese simply give up. You do know that even if someone's national economy collapses, they would rather fight than watch their homeland get occupied by foreign occupiers. The Upper Secundian Naval Fleet embarked back to Upper Secundus in order to give the North Koreans a false sense of security as they believed there could be no naval invasion
Even if your fleet returned home, the North Koreans wouldn't back down since you just occupied China. The North Korean military were caught completely by surprise at the invasion from Manchuria as a large amount of their forces were attempting to protect Kim Jong Un and other high ranking officials and attempting to destroy the Chinese warships, leaving their Northern Border with Manchuria
virtually undefended. After just 9 months, the North Korean Government surrendered.
Like what I said, the North Koreans would not back down because you occupied their northwestern neighbor, therefore the North Koreans would be on edge. So no, the Sino-Korean border wouldn't be left undefended. That's ridiculous, especially for a hermit nation with a strong isolationist policy. The brainwashing and reorganisation of captured Chinese and North Korean soldiers into a secret police in Occupied China and North Korea to find and exterminate or reeducate traitors and possible rebels.
You can't just simply brainwash captured soldiers. That's not how human psychology works. The entire population of North Korea (except migrants from Upper Secundus) was turned into slave labour. In China, anyone who swore absolute
loyalty to the Grand Duke were brainwashed and allowed to live as obedient citizens. Anyone who refused were turned into slave labour.
You're implying that people wouldn't go underground and create underground resistance movements. Also, really? Turning all North Koreans into slaves while brainwashing the entire Chinese population?

"I know you don't," Yang cooed, "and that's what makes you so special." Too many friendships torn asunder by emotions, by anger and jealousy. The world should have rejoiced at the mere sight of her beautiful sister, yet life was never that generous. The cruel prospered, the kind went unthanked.
