NCAA March Madness Tournament Thread

Postby Chetssaland » Sun Mar 14, 2010 2:08 pm

Well, we're approaching the NCAA selection show and then one of the greatest tournaments in sports. So, I made a thread on it. I'm sure there's at least some basketball fans out in NSG. So let's get ready for March Madness!

In my opinion Kentucky should win, on paper at least. Look out for Georgetown too. My sleeper picks would be Marquette and Murray State.

'cuse and 'nova can't be discounted! My question is:will Kentucky get to keep their results?

Im a UK fan, but I think KU in my opinion has the best chance to win it all.

Our UK team is the best talent wise, but having mostly freshman I don't think we have the experience needed to win it all as our inconsistency has shown.

Villanova is overrated. Syracuse is good, but not good enough to win it all. I think the team that will go farthest out of the Big East will be Georgetown.

And most of those will freshman will be gone next year too. Still, I think Kentucky has a bright future

Your opinions on Illinois making it to the dance?

Florida #10 seed? I think not. Duke #1? West Virginia should've beat them out. Illinois out? It's our own fault. If we beat Bradley, Utah, and Georgia we're most likely in. Or if we get that shot off yesterday. Illinois should be in, but its their fault they're not. The selection crew did a good job overall though.

That's all chalk. Mine:

Georgetown
Kansas St
Kentucky
Texas A&M

Yes, somehow A&M made it in. I liked the match ups they had. Plus, all of their losses come against tournament teams ;) .

One thing that stuck out to me was the Kansas and Kansas State game and how balls to the wall it was. I feel Kansas State has a lot to offer. I do feel like Georgetown could do work. Any opinions on Pitt?

I have them losing to Xavier in the second round. Respect the A-10!

That makes no sense. West Virginia and Kentucky are in the same bracket and so are Georgetown and Kansas.

I think every Gopher fan is wondering why the fuck we're in, too. I was shocked when we beat Michigan State and even more when we beat Purdue. Sucks that we couldn't have shown Ohio State a good time though.

In reality, I have KU, KSU, UK, and Nova in the final four with Kansas beating Kentucky in the finals.

KU got put in a murderous bracket, one of the toughest ever.

Duke on the other hand, in the South, got creampuffs.

I still think KU will soldier through to the finals, only to get upset by W Va.

The mountaineers made my tough Pitt Panthers looks weak; they would get more media love if only they were on the left or right coast instead of in the heartland, the "flyover".

For me I expected that WVU would get a #1 seed. I dont really think Duke deserved it. Anyway for me a sleeper would be Murray State and Siena. Siena been pretty impressive the last tournament. Or maybe the one before that one.

Yep, Siena is pretty big out our way.

Unfortunately, they are not pretty big in other ways; their "big man", Alex Franklin, is 6'7" in cowboy boots, although he has a long reach. Coach McCaffrey recruited a couple bigger tougher freshman just for this tournament, they are like his secret weapon since he always starts upperclassmen during league play, but he has hinted that they will soon be unveiled.

Also to think of it they playing Purdue so they could have a good chance.

I say the mountain west had a good year 4 teams. Ha they beat a major conference the PAC-10. Or is the MW a major.
