Commend Tsunamy

Postby NationHelper » Fri Apr 14, 2017 3:07 pm

The Security Council,

Acknowledging that Tsunamy's created the local council, which has been a stable, uncorrupted part of TSP. In the LC, nations nominate another nation to be a Local Consular. Then, the nations vote on which nation would serve as a better leader. The LC helps to distribute responsibility evenly, as it takes work off the cabinet.

Knowing that Tsunamy created TSP's Council on Regional Security. This has helped increase security, and honors respected members of TSP, who are the only ones that can join, based on the rules of the joining:
-World Assembly membership in The South Pacific;
-High Influence Making a Nation A Vassal;
-Endorsements from at least 200 nations;
-and six consecutive months of legislator, or at least two terms in the Local Council,

Applauding that Tsunamy can run a strong, stable democracy without restricting rights,

Impressed that Tsunamy made a generous endocap of 250 endos. This shows strength, trust, and power,

Noting that Tsunamy has been active in TSP for a decade, in which Tsunamy ensured stablility, activity, and success, and has had a variety of positions in TSP, including:
-Minister of Foreign Affairs
-Director of Intelligence
-Delegate (Twice); In which Tsunamy created new flags, amended election laws, Endorsed everyone Tsunamy could, and reformed the government as well as Tsunamy could
-Member of TSP's Council on Regional Security; In Which Tsunamy spotted a coup and immediately confronted cabinet members about it, resulting in TSP being saved
-Spearhead of The South Pacifician Journalism; In which Tsunamy devoted time to gain NS news and broadcast it publicly;
-Administrator of TSPs forums, a gathering place for nations to discuss matters diplomatically, after the coup,

Noticing that Tsunamy is so well-liked that the nations of TSP created a festival devoted to Tsunamy, called Anniver-Tsu-ry,

Understanding that Tsunamy always plays a major role in the WA, and has been depended on in some very close proposals, in which Tsunamy was the decision maker, including:
-Condemn Elite Region of Global Command
-Repeal: Liberate Eternal Scholars

Amazed at Tsunamys dedication to settle debates diplomatically,

Appalled that Tsunamy hasn't even been attempted to be commended yet, and the WA should recognize those who ensure world piece,

Hereby commends Tsunamy for inclusiveness, kindness, and bravery

So why post this when you've already submitted a proposal? You can't edit an existing proposal, though you can remove it, then edit it, then re-submit.

You're going to need a lot more detail on why Tsunamy should be commended. At the moment it boils down they've been Delegate for a number of years and they've done some nice stuff in TSP.

Edit: have a look at this thread - viewtopic.php?f=24&t=392800

TMI has put together links to successful commendations, sorted by the main reason for the award. Have a look through those and get an idea of the detail required.

I proposed it because no one replied to it for about 5-1o hrs, and I am inpatient. I find it odd that despite you respond to everything you didn't respond to this until there was not point to.

Oh I'm so sorry I was asleep when you made your post! This game is played world wide and I'm on a different time zone to you, or did that thought never entertain the slightest possibility of crossing your mind when you made your post.

Well I suppose the best thing about this is that it will fail to make quorum sooner.

More info:
-Tsu has some of the best eco-friendliness in the world, better than the founder and forest keeper of [region=Forest]
-Tsu has always confided in TSP before making laws
-Tsu attempts to bring people together through discussion and debate
-Tsu has increased WA membership in TSP

The Security Counsel,

Knowing that Tsunamy has been an active delegate of [region=The South Pacific] twice, adding to almost four years of service,

Acknowledging that Tsunamy has defended many nations from being shamed, such as [Nation=Hileville],

Respecting the fact that Tsunamy's goal in NationStates has always been to create a neutral space where the people, and the government could change but the region will stay the same,

Acknowledging that Tsunamy's created the local council, which has been helpful in The South Pacific,

Knowing that Tsunamy has always included everyone in NationStates,

Applauding the fact that Tsunamy has defended The South Pacific from a coup,

Understanding that Tsunamy is very important to the Nations of The South Pacific,

Impressed that Tsunamy has one of the best eco-friendliness in the world, more than the founder of Forest,

Recognizing that Tsunamy has always confided in nations of The South Pacific before making laws,

Knowing that Tsunamy attempts to bring people together through discussion and debate,

Impressed that Tsunamy has increased WA membership in The South Pacific

Hereby Commends Tsunamy

Firstly a bit of advice - stick your drafts in your opening post and spoiler the older versions. That keeps the latest draft in a place where everyone can find it easily, without having to hunt through the whole thread.

So? Lots of nations have been Delegates of their regions for extended periods of time. Laudable, but not commendable.

What the hell does this even mean?

How about the 961 nations that currently have a better eco-friendliness score than Tsu? Shall we commend them as well?

There is room for expansion of some of the clauses - the rest are meaningless filler. As it stands this is not a good proposal. You need to do more research and explain things more, not just give one-liners.

I like Tsu, but it's hard to see why he should be commended. To warrant a commendation, you have to go above and beyond what would be expected of a NS player, and while Tsu has been a good delegate, I don't think he deserves this.

Fluff just means stuff that doesn't really say anything - a lot of your points are rather vague and don't have any substance or anything concrete about them.

Has Tsu really increased WA membership? He has the second lowest endos of any feeder delegate, and I don't recall him doing anything to try and increase WA membership in TSP (in contrast to TNP, for example)
World #1 for Law Enforcement and Nudity (different puppets...), a further 9 World top 10 rankings.

I remember him trying to increase membership. I think that if [region=The skeleton Army] deserves to be commended for "nice raiding", Tsu definitely needs to be commended.

TSA were well liked beyond just one region, Tsu hasn't done much outside TSP. So not the best argument to use.

The problem isn't just that Tsu hasn't done anything outside TSP -- It's that you haven't even explained why his career in TSP is commendable.

Wrong again. The Delegate really only influences those who take an active part in TSP - a small percentage of the total population. For the vast majority of nations in any GCR the Delegate's actions will have very little effect on them. Unless, of course, the Delegate goes on a banjection spree.

I do think Tsu is worthy of commendation for a variety of reasons, but this proposal barely touches on the surface of it, and obviously, a significant amount of additional research is needed. Tsu's been in TSP since 2003, been a forum admin for much of that, held a variety of positions including Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director of Intelligence, and Delegate; Tsu was a spearhead of South Pacifican journalism back in the day with SPIN; and really has been a cornerstone and leading figure of South Pacifican democracy for many, many years; and much more.

So yeah - Commend Tsunamy, but not like this.

Some are questioning whether Tsunamy is worthy of a commendation, since his actions have only benefited one region and not the wider NS world. However, it should be noted that there have been three commendations from the past that commend a nation for their actions concerning one region only: 1 Infinite Loop, A Slanted Black Stripe, and Fudgetopia. All three were feeder delegates. These commendations show that you don't have to affect the wider NS world in order to be commended. Actions in one feeder are sufficient.

Of course, this doesn't mean that the draft is any good. The candidate is commendable, but the draft is not.
