Toinan Arctic Program [OPEN]

Postby Toin » Mon Apr 10, 2017 7:54 pm

The Toinan Arctic Program is the sister program of the Toinan Antarctic Program, with major operations in Northern Canada, Northern Russia, Northern Scandinavia, and Greenland. As Toin is based on science more than religion (despite compulsory membership and belief in the Church of Toin), the Arctic and Antarctic locations are important to the nation, with claims administered directly by the Toinan government. Areas which our program itself does not have an interest in are available for lease by other nations.

Re-supply Operations
Operation Victor (Toin)

Suppliers:
Argentinstan (Aircraft and helicopter transportation)
Japanese Schoolgirls (Food and water)
Reino do Brazil (Medical evacuation capabilities from NetJet Medical)
Tar-Nation (Fuel)

Yzhubjoe (Everything + icebreakers)
Antismatia (Fuel, food, and water)

Research Stations:
King Victor Station, Toin (Northeast Greenland National Park, Greenland. Part of Danish Realm.)
Camp Peace, Reino do Brazil (North Pole)

Approved, however please keep in mind the following:
As the winter seasons are too cold to fly in, airports directly administered by our program only operate during the arctic summers. King Victor Station is located in Northeast Greenland National Park, with a ski-way for landing and departing aircraft.

Approved. We appreciate doing business with you. However,
Please make sure that no invasive species makes it to the station. We do not want an invasive species taking over the arctic ecosystem. We will have a greenhouse ready before the arrival of your supplied goods. If you have any questions or requests, feel free to telegram us.

Toinan Arctic Program official response
Approved.
Thank you for your interest in our program. The necessary facilities are currently under construction and should be ready for the next re-supply. Feel free to re-apply in the future with other necessary components of our station. However, our requests are as follows: do not send up any invasive species or organisms, including but not limited too, plants and animals that are capable of surviving in the extreme cold of the arctic. As this is a scientific area for us, we are dedicated to preserving and protecting the arctic ecosystem to the way it was before we arrived, with a few exceptions for stations. We appreciate doing business with you, and if you have any questions or requests, feel free to telegram us.

Toinan Arctic Program official response
Application: On hold.
Re-apply: Yes.

We appreciate your interest in our program, but we found a discrepancy in your base application. Despite the fact the estimated summer population is 12, the station is only designed to have 7 people maximum. We have decided to let you re-apply in the future to fix this discrepancy. The location has not been leased at this time.

As for your second application, it has been put on hold for the assumption that it will be used for Camp Peace. We have done so due to a discrepancy in your base application. Again, we have decided to let you re-apply in the future to fix the discrepancy, but re-applying for Reino do Brazil Organic Agricultural Goods is not required. We appreciate your interest in our program.

Toinan Arctic Program official response
Application: Accepted.
Re-apply: No.

Thank you for fixing the discrepancy. We are happy to announce that you have received the area surrounding and including the North Pole. We do have some rules, however. These include, but are not limited too:
1. Animals are not allowed, regardless of what they are used for.
2. If you find some land, do not plant any seeds. There is a chance that they can take over the ecosystem at the North Pole.
3. If you have any questions or inquiries, please telegram me.
4. It is not recommended to build structures on the ground for two reasons. A. The North Pole is floating ice. B. Assuming you managed to build a structure on the surface of the ice, snow buildup would encompass the walls and eventually cause the walls and roof to cave in. Either a raised up structure, or a tent community is recommended.
5. Vitamin D pills are strongly recommended for the winter-over staff, as only the moon will be up.

As for your second application, it has been accepted, however, must comply with the rules above. If you request, we can send up starter construction equipment to help construct your station. Since your station is a permanent year-round location, tents are not recommended, as they cannot be heated. Instead, it is recommended to construct a raised up structure to house your staff. However, this is simply a recommendation, and you may approach this issue the way you feel best. Vehicles can also be brought up, but they are recommended to have either tundra tires or snow tracks. Aircraft are also recommended to have skis, and recommended to be light aircraft, as the ice likely cannot support heavy transport aircraft. Again, this is just a recommendation, and you may approach this issue the way you feel best, as stated above. To close this off, we wish you luck in your science.

Greetings!
As much of our nation is located north of the Arctic Circle, we are in a position to provide transport and supplies to the bases in your Arctic territory. We possess airplanes, GEVS, helicopters, and airships specially designed for Arctic weather and terrain, so we will be able to operate year-round. Icebreaker ships can provide sea transport/supply, and can clear a path through the ice for conventional ships. We can also offer screw-driven, wheeled, and tracked vehicles for use around bases. With time, we could create an extensive Arctic transport network that will lessen the dangers of Arctic isolation and allow easy travel between bases.

A government-owned factory of ours will be retooled for building supplies, and we have made a deal with one of our major agricultural firms for food and water. Unfortunately, we will be unable to provide fuel, as we have few tapped oil fields and have to import much oil for ourselves as it is. Medicinal supplies can be provided, and our transport craft can provide speedy evacuations.

We hope this will be the beginning of a strong friendship between our two countries.

Thank you for your offer. Your application has been accepted, however, we have already contacted NetJet Medical to help with medevacs. If you feel your transport craft can operate better than NetJet Medical, you can file a claim. Regardless, your application has been accepted, and we look forward to doing business with you. It's quite exciting to be able to have a plane fly in the cold winters!

Thank you for your offer. Your application has been accepted. We appreciate your interest in our program, it is very much needed. There is no need to re-apply in the future, hence why it is marked "No." However, if you feel it is necessary, you may re-apply in the future. We appreciate doing business with you!

We appreciate your interest in our program, it is very much needed. We are happy to announce that you have received a portion of Svalbard, being one of the northernmost points in Scandinavia, using its proper definition. Supplies will have to be flown in by helicopter at this time, as the runway grooming has not finished yet. Anyway, Northern Hopen is yours! However, we do have rules, as this land is being leased. These include, but are not limited too:
1. Animals are not allowed, regardless of what they are used for (sorry!)
2. Seeds of any plant are not to be planted, as they won't survive. If they do, there is a chance they would become an invasive species and take over the ecosystem.
3. If you have any questions or inquiries, please telegram me.
4. Vitamin D pills are strongly recommended for the winter-over staff, as only the moon will be up.

Boy, is this a long form! First off, we are happy to announce you have received the area surrounding and including the Magnetic North Pole. Tents are recommended to be used here, as it is extremely hard to build a raised structure on floating ice. This has to be the third largest station thus far, after your second application! Anyway, supplies will need to be helicoptered in until a runway is properly groomed. Construction may begin immediately! As for your second application, we are happy to announce that you have received the area just North of Alert, Nunavut. As there is already an airport at this location, supplies may be flown in by plane. Surface structures are not recommended, as snow build up would eventually cause the walls and roof to cave in, and we don't want that. It's recommended to construct a raised structure, either on cinder blocks, or a design similar to the Amundsen--Scott South Pole Station. As for your third, and hopefully, last that I have to address with this form, it has been accepted as well. PLEASE do not accidentally ram into stations on the ice cap. Because its an ice cap. And it's what icebreakers are supposed to break. We don't want that. The tents/structures would likely fall into the ocean with people in them. Very bad.

Toinan Arctic Program official response
Application: Accepted
Re-apply: No

Phew, finally, one that isn't too long. It has been accepted, and the necessary facilities are under construction. They should be ready for the next re-supply, we appreciate doing business with you. I don't really know what else to say!
