Let's build a country ( Interest, discussion, OOC UP )

I have been wanting a nation RP for a while now. Not just another senate and politics game, but one were every aspect of a society is focused on and seen: politics, war, business, pop culture, religion, crime, etc. Let me elaborate upon my idea: we begin the RP in a nation of our own pre-determined design. Something fictional, in the past, present, or far future. This nation will have just literally finished in a revolt against it's previous despot, who was an insane tyrant. The revolution had ties into every section of society, and was unified in the singular goal of deposing the despot. Since the despot had been deposed, the nation now finds itself with no government, no guiding ideology, and numerous rebel armies all unsure of what to do now.

So, what would you guys suggest to add onto this or change? Don't worry bout my experience, I am actually a pretty experienced NS'er.

I was thinking, perhaps we could allow for the creation of ethnic/tribal groups, religious groups, or even business organizations. Really create a sense of uniqueness.

I am fully behind this RP. We might want to decide if it's going to be set in a fictional or real setting, and where and when. From there all other things will flow. I actually pretty split between the choices. How much worldbuilding would we have to do for the fantasy option?

Depends.

Fantasy would entail something in the near, to far future. Near future would not require too much world building ( since there would be plenty of all ready established institutions and histories to be borrowed from ), and far future would mandate quite a bit of world building ( but that could be a good thing. )

My preference would be the far future in a mass effectess technological state ( be it much more dire and decrepit ), but I am really cool with anything.

Why not just play EU4?

Because my steam doesn't work that's why. Ya think if my steam worked I would still have to live out my fantasies on NS?

So with the far future version so we have to stay in the sol system? I think you should make a poll of the setting. I'm with you on the far future though, that'll be a lot of fun.
