Welcome to the fourth incarnation of the long running Blake Holsey High School roleplaying series, which was originally hosted by Corrian. Although there are many High School RPs on NationStates of various shades and colours in the P2TM, this is a high school roleplay in the sense of not having superhumans, vampires, political jockeying or supernatural stuff happening at the school, but more of the students experiencing the regular occurrences of school life although weird event may happen during those occureneces at the same time. This RP, and its named predecessors, is based of the hit Canadian TV Show “Strange Days at Blake Holsey High”, also known as “Black Hole High” that aired in the early 2000’s on Canadian television.
Background
This incarnation of the RP has occurred after the last one, which had started in January of last year, had stalled to a complete halt at the beginning of this month due to massive delays that derailed the RP and other real life events, including personal issues and the American election, that took place during the year and a third it had been running (including a 6 RL month passage of time to pass 6 hours ICly). After a last attempt to keep the RP going and it stalled again, Corrian decided that a reboot was in order due to loss of interest in the then-current arc of the previous RP and handed the reigns over to me as part of the reboot of the RP.
Location
This incarnation of Blake Holsey is now set in a different location than the previous incarnations that were hosted by Corrian. Instead of being set in the sleepy, mountainous skiing and resort town of Aspen, Colorado, which is west of Denver, the school is now set in the suburban, coastal town/suburb of Seaview, Washington, which is just to the immediate west of downtown Seattle and borders Puget Sound on its coastline. Seaview, as well as West Seattle itself for that matter, is part of the city of Seattle itself, and is a quiet seaside suburb that mostly serves as a residential neighbourhood and connection to both downtown Seattle and nearby Kitsap County, Washington, which is across across Puget Sound, as it borders both (one by land, the other by water ferry).
In Seaview (and around Seattle in general), it has a very temperate oceanic climate, with cool, wet winters that sometimes produces snow and mild, but not strong summers, which mostly come with no rain whatsoever. There is not much extreme temperatures on both sides of the spectrum in Seattle itself due to Puget Sound, the Pacific Ocean and Lake Washington, which means heatwaves are extremely rare and the temperature never goes below 9 degrees Celsius or 15 degrees Fahrenheit. In return, Seattle and the surrounding area is cloudy between the months of October and April most of the time and the city has a frequent reputation for rain storms, although in a more of a light drizzle than a full shower style storm. Rarely, however, that hot extreme temperatures are actually experienced in Seattle, and the ones that do happen come from winds off the Cascade Mountains, while extreme cold comes from Great White North. Fraser Valley, British Columbia to be precise.
School Information
Blake Holsey High School, unlike most schools in the Seattle area, is a hybrid school. It is a combined boarding/day student high school by its nature of the student enrolment of around 1800 to 1950 students and has organised boarding facilities, standard student curriculum for the state of Washington, a dedicated physical education and sports department, extra curricular activities and subjects and in school sports teams of various shapes and stripes, including its own American Football, Basketball, Baseball, Volleyball and Soccer teams competing in local matches, and also including its Track & Field team, Swimming team and Cheerleading squad compromising of Varsity and JV. Its school colours is royal blue, grey and white and its mascot is a Seawolf.
There are suitable boarding facilities to handle 60 boarding students, which are divided into gender (15 rooms each) and each room would have 2 boarding students each with the same gender.
The school also has several clubs and other extracurricular activities that are standard for most public schools in the United States, as well. This includes the drama department, the school newspaper, various language clubs, religion clubs, literature and history clubs and many more. Cliques also do exist within the school itself, with the most prominent examples being the jocks (split into basketball and American football factions), the preppies, the nerds and the outsiders.
Rules & Co-Ops
- OP and Co-Op's word is usually the final stop, but their word can be debated peacefully in the thread.
- No Godmodding. Period.
- Be respectful and nice to each other OOCly. If you want to be loud, abrasive or being a foolhardy man, you can do that in the IC thread ICly without any problems. Just not here.
- No Mary Sues, Gary Stu's or OvPo characters allowed. At all.
- Try to put some effort and/or content to your posts in grammar, punctuation, length and coherence. You don't need to write an entire essay page or pad it with endless filler that is a 1000 words long, but at least a few detailed sentences would be passable. No one liners, however.
- Keep the content PG-13 and within the guidelines of the NS Forum rules. Please.
- Don't go overboard with your actions or doings in the IC thread. High school stuff and rumor/gossip/other dastardly things are fine, but too extreme actions will be dealt with by me or the assigned Co-Ops OOCly.

Application
The applications for both students and teachers are mostly refined and straight when it comes to general layout, but certain factors may differ between each role. Most students in the American high school system are between the ages of fourteen and seventeen (with exceptions if you get held back a year) and are divided into four distinct year groups, which are Freshmen/Grade 9 (14-15), Sophomores/Grade 10 (15-16), Juniors/Grade 11 (16-17) and finally Seniors/Grade 12 (17-18). Usually, they get assigned to different year groups and classes, but for gameplay reasons all of the playable boarding students are going to be put in the same classes (some of the time) so to put less strain on the timeline of events and the posters keeping score.
Teachers can be from anywhere from the ages of 25 to around 60, and can teach one subject or couple of subjects in the same department.

[b]Fears, Wishes, and Goals:[/b] (Each of these three things influence your characters. Fears limit and control them disallowing them from certain activities and providing prejudice towards things or people. Wishes are less like limits due to fear, and more along the line of a way to coax a character towards a goal. Goals are stronger than wishes, and thus can cause more problems.)

Tobacco might make someone think negative thoughts, or another person of someone they love. Alcohol, mint gum, lotion, perfume, sweat, or anything else is going to add individuality and connection to your character.)
