Beacon Academy, a school built to train teenagers to fight soulless monsters known as the creatures of Grimm, has been reclaimed, but it is no time for celebration. Beacon Academy was heavily damaged during the battle where it fell to the Grimm, the campus is littered with the corpses of those who died to retake it, several teams are left leaderless or otherwise decimated after the Fall of Beacon Academy and the battle to reclaim Beacon Academy, new students are being rushed to replace those who were killed in the weeks following the Fall of Beacon, the acting headmistress is being kept on a short leash by the Council that rules the Kingdom of Vale, and the powers that be have shifted their priorities to a new purpose: capturing the silver eyed arch traitor Ruby Rose, a former student and a cohort of Cinder Fall, the golden eyed woman who had instigated the Fall of Beacon Academy. She continued to stay off the grid, the mountain of mangled, battered, and mutilated corpses that were unfortunate enough to pursue the price on her head when they were still alive being the only evidence of her still being alive. Many members of the White Fang, the civil rights group turned terrorist organization that is only aligned with Cinder Fall because she strong armed Adam Taurus, who was the second-in-command prior to the Fall of Beacon academy, into joining forces with her, have considered betraying Ruby Rose for the reward money and a full pardon for their actions, but none have acted on those plans out of fear of retaliation from her current allies.

3. There is no limit to your characters, however only control as many as you can handle. You can play as canon characters, so long as they are still alive in this timeline.

6. No Mary Sues. Anti-heroes with spiked armor, large muscles, and other '90's stuff are okay so long as their backstory makes sense and their equipment is not overpowered or otherwise unrealistic.
7. Factions are reserved for CO-OPs. Human characters cannot join the White fang.
8. Faunus have only one animal trait (sometimes it is easily hidden). Characters with one human parent and one Faunus parent have a 50/50 chance of being born with a Faunus trait while children born to Faunus with traits of different animals will be born with a random trait
9. While this takes place after Volume 3, this is an alternate timeline and while certain events from Volume Four will occur from time to time, they will not have the same outcome as they did in the canon (a character who survived a life threatening injury in the canon dies, a character who goes to the Kingdom of Mistral gets sent to the nuthouse instead, someone who falls in love in the canon does not, etc.), so do not spam the comments with typical fan hate.

Name: Ash Oranssi Tamahagane [Ash is a type of gray, that is the remnant of a fire, Oranssi is Finnish for Orange and tamahagane is the color of the material used to make katana blades]

Description (height, weight, hair color, etc.): 121 ib, 5'6 feet. Has short Ash gray hair that resembles that of Yosuke Hanamura's from Persona 4, he also features white skin and slightly dark eyes. He wears a gray robe over a white undershirt, and has blue jeans. As for footwear, he wears crocs and white socks underneath. His alternate clothing is a tamahagne-colored blazer with a white shirt underneath [That has an orange V-neck rim], that has the same blue jeans. He also wears a pair of headphones around his neck, with the wire tucked into a pocket in his robe, or if using his 'alternate' clothing, his white shirt.

Backstory: Ash was born in Mistral to a local metalworks worker [Mother] and her father, who worked to manufacture scrolls, but also in his spare-time hacked into other scrolls for personal information, giving him a bad and unhealthy reputation. His grandparents disapproved of this, as Ash's family were traditionally warriors who lived off the land, using blades and hunting down Grimm for centuries. Ash was split, though didn't really see why a compromise couldn't be made, though did receive basic training in swordfighting [Which until joining Signal, never got a hand of] with their grandparents, and also knowledge about hacking and the use of electronics from his father, who also cursed him with the trait of clumsiness.

At age 12 he got his first blade, a katana with his family name engraved in it, but never got to use it too much, because by the time he attended Signal Academy, he got a new weapon, the one he has kept to this day, a weapon combing swordsmanship and firearms, a more modern class of weaponry. He has recently moved to Vale just to attend Beacon Academy...

The gun also has an orange laser sight. It can fire either quick semi-automatic shots or slow and charged, but powerful shots. He mainly uses his katana form.

A damaged gem that has recently been reclaimed and reopened, Beacon Academy has trained huntsmen and huntresses to defend the human race from the creatures of Grimm for centuries. During the Fall of Beacon Academy, its headmaster and star pupil died, the death of the latter demoralizing those defending it and the demise of the former leaving them leaderless. It took weeks of brutal and intense fighting before the forces attempting to cleanse Beacon Academy of the Grimm, with assistance from various mercenary companies that the current Headmistress hired using funds she received by striking a Faust-style deal with the Council that rules the Kingdom of Vale, finally achieved their goal at great cost. However, with students from secondary huntsman academies being rushed into Beacon to fill out the roster and the losses suffered by teams who fought the Grimm during or after the Fall of Beacon Academy being replaced with students who lost their teams during the Fall of Beacon Academy, Beacon Academy has a long way to go before it can return to its former glory.

Five years ago, the leader of the White Fang stepped down, allowing Sienna Khan to fill the void and lead the White Gang down a path of violence and mayhem. Protests turned into riots. Boycotts turned into bombings and hijackings. Friends and family of the head of the World's largest supplier of Dust, the magical sand and crystals that allowed the human race to survive the constant onslaught of Grimm for thousands of years, disappeared left and right. Human and Faunus alike learned to fear them. Radicals and disenfranchised Faunus joined their ranks by the hundreds and began wearing hoodies and Grimm masks. The White Fang was large enough to be considered its own military, but Sienna's power would not last forever. Her second-in-command, Adam Taurus, attacked Beacon Academy and slaughtered many of its defenders, earning him a quickly growing popularity amongst the ranks of the White Fang and a few days later, Sienna Khan was poisoned by the followers of Adam Taurus. Under their new leadership, the White Fang launched devastating guerilla campaigns against Atlas and Mistral, causing the former to grant the supreme commander of its military extended emergency powers and the latter to militarize. The White Fang is currently preparing for the inevitable counteroffensive by the two vengeful kingdoms.

A kingdom with a proud military tradition, Atlas was the lone military superpower in a world where civilization went pacifist. Originally a Academy that had been reopened in peacetime to ensure that its surplus of warriors of the realm would be useful, it gradually expanded over time, eventually becoming the new capital of the Kingdom of Mantle and renaming the kingdom after it, a kingdom that had entered a depression after their defeat in the war with Vale and Vacuo and the resulting abdication of their king, a realm that was pulled out of its poverty by founder of the Schnee Dust Company, who, in his old age and suffering from multiple illnesses, gave it to his son-in-law, a business man who only cared about profit. Academy, Military, and Kingdom rolled into one, Atlas is powerful enough to take on the other Kingdoms without assistance. However, in recent times, its military might has been challenged by the White Fang and its leader has been given the powers of a tyrant.

Backstory : Born into a family of hunters, Alastor from a young age spent most of his time training to be a hunter, while also learning about the Grimm and other fighting techniques. When he was about 11, he followed his parents to hunt Grimm as training for his future occupation as a hunter. During that trip he was given both a staff and rifle, which were separated since it was thought that combining it would be unneeded at his level.

On that trip, while hunting Grimm at night to train his ability to see in the dark, they were ambushed by multiple Beowolves. During that moment, he wanted to draw his rifle but had to also keep his staff, and when pulled out it was to late. His parents had already been killed by the Beowolves. In the end, he killed a few before running away, losing them after a while. After returning to his home, he immediately combined the staff and rifle together in order to draw it faster. After that, in order to further his experience, he moved to vale to attend Beacon Academy.

Yes. There are multiple huntsman teams. For simplicity's sake, the Beacon Academy in this RP will be using the same system as it does in canon (there are three other primary academies and possibly several secondary schools with their own initiation systems, so I have to make up whenever I cannot guess them).

Surrounded by cliffs and looking majestic to the outsider, living in the Kingdom of Mistral is a double edged sword. While Mistral's elite are known for great works of art and architecture, there is a large and loosely connected network of black markets, assassins, bounty hunters, and mercenaries scattered throughout the entire kingdom, a wretched hive of crime, scum, and villainy hidden under a shining jewel. However, those who desire to improve their lot in life through legitimate means can apply to join Haven academy or Sanctum Academy, the latter being a secondary school. However, due to a recent series of hit-and-run attacks by the White Fang, Mistral is pursuing military options while cracking down on subversive groups and censoring anything that displayed the militarization in a negative light.

Founded after the queen of Vacuo abdicated the throne, Shade Academy is the only widely accepted source of order in the Kingdom of Vacuo due to the people's disregard for laws, a unique position that has allowed to remain true to the goals of its founder while the other three Academies have taken drastic measures in the weeks following the Fall of Beacon Academy. However, despite it being an oasis in a sea of war and turmoil, foreigners still view enrolling in Shade as a last resort to be taken only when rejected by the other three Academies while locals still view it as a chance for glory that allows them to escape from the boring monotony of living in a desert. Several teams attended the Vytal Tournament, a friendly competition that was part of the celebration of the peace between the four kingdoms, though only one was able to get to the finals. However, its chance to break Beacon Academy's winning streak was shattered when Beacon Academy fell to the Grimm. With Vacuo gradually becoming isolationist, Shade Academy's future is unsure.

So, you want to know my story ehh? Well, seeing as I’m not in a fire fight, I don’t see why not.

Born in Atlas, apparently, to a merchant family before the SDC took over most of the trade there. With the business gone, mum and dad moved me out here when I was a wee lad. We did good here, even had a sister. Then they came around. *He makes a pointing motion towards the lines of the Bandits* Came around, harassed the family, threatened us, mum wouldn’t have any of it and usually was the one who would kick em out, but well…she was one women. They over ran us one night, burned down the barn, dragged us out of bed and were likely gonna finish us off. Then, out of no ware, this massive Tijitu smashes in to their truck, flipping it over.
Then I remember seeing the flash of rifle fire, the silhouette of a large scythe, and feeling what felt like a truck slamming in to my head.

I don’t remember much of that. I know my mum and dad are dead. *Mr. Grey’s gaze seems to drift off. * Though I do know my little sis is out there, some were.
Woke up in the morning in the back of a truck, feared maybe I was still their prisoner, then Mac *Referring to Johan Macmanus, the leader of the Corsairs* calmed me down and told me who I was with. *He points to the double headed Eagle on his armor and Beret cap. * The guard is what they called us, though we preferred the term “Corsairs” a mercenary group who specialized in fighting Bandits and Grimm alike. They took me in, gave me a rifle *He pats the Ares made Rifle as he cleans it * my sword, and taught me how to fight. I was 6 then, just a wee lad, and Mac took me in as his own. It was hard at first, knowing I was all alone in this hell of a world. *He chuckles * but that’s the thing about living in hell, eventually you get over the fire and constant threat of death and just learn to have fun. * I ask as to how being the only Faunus in the unit of soldiers for hire feels and he gives me a blank look* I don’t care that I am what I am, neither does anyone here and that’s because we don’t care what you are, if you pull your own weight and prove yourself to the unit, were like family.

*I ask if he had heard of the White Fang and their activities. * Yea, I’ve heard of them, bunch of gits with their head sup their asses, spouting all that “Faunus supremacy” shite, look mate, I get why you asked, but let it be known I don’t like them, not because they are shite at their operations, but because they fail to see that if mankind stays as divided as it is, it’s likely we’re ain’t going to stand much longer as it is, not if the Grimm have anything to say about it. *As if on que, the order to be ready to defend the small trench we are in is given, and Mr. Grey puts his rifle back together, loads a magazine, and readies it on the bipod. * Now, doc, I don’t mean to brush you off here, but you might want to keep your head down.

“….Subject shows rather high level of maturity and levelheadedness for some one of his age, not to say subject does not, on occasion, “relax” and act more like a teen ager, but due to subjects current life situation, these times are rare. Subject does not show any aversion to violence and has even stated he prefers a good fight over ours of pointless delegation. When asked about family, he simply replies with “My unit is my family, they raised me.” Despite this, I do know of situations were subject has “Lost his Temper” and gotten involved in rather brutal confrontations, showing a rather brutal individual in combat, but I see no traces of this person when Subject is not provoked….”

Hunter's Sight- The user's Eye sight is modified to allow it to see the living aura of beings around them, similar to Heat based Vision.

Shares potential in tracking individual targets to each person's unique aura, provided the Seer also knows the name of the person they are looking for.

Weakness: 1. Because the Hunter's Sight requires the target to have an aura, so things like androids (those with out auras), AK series combat droids, and things like cars and trees will not shows up in this vision mode. Grimm apear devoid of an Aura, making them out to be (vary hungry and always pissed off) Black shapes in his vision.
2. Because of the extra amount of stress and strain the seers optical nerves are put through, prolonged use can and usually will result in temporary blindness and or a head ache from hell.

Shares potential in tracking individual targets to each person's unique aura, provided the Seer also knows the name of the person they are looking for.

Weakness: 1. Because the Hunter's Sight requires the target to have an aura, so things like androids (those with out auras), AK series combat droids, and things like cars and trees will not shows up in this vision mode. Grimm apear devoid of an Aura, making them out to be (vary hungry and always pissed off) Black shapes in his vision.
2. Because of the extra amount of stress and strain the seers optical nerves are put through, prolonged use can and usually will result in temporary blindness and or a head ache from hell.
