Where Rivers meet, People meet (Spring Festival, IC)

Postby The Selkie » Mon Mar 20, 2017 3:18 am

Good day, everybody! This is the IC to this OOC. Please apply and be accepted before posting. Thanks!

Ropaire Inn, second floor
As Mona awoke from her slumber, she had grinned.
Today was the day of the Spring Festival, the beginning of the new year and quite a few other important things stuffed into this one function. Getting dressed into the children's version of the Geansai in Lodan Lir's Colours, the young Envoy couldn't help but to grin, her blue eyes sparkling.
She loved Festivals in all their glory and she loved travelling to all the different places in the Free Lands and abroad, where festivals were held. This one, however, would be special due to a multitude of circumstances, both for her personally and for the ones attending it today - Music would be played on many stages, the Greyfox Cup would be held, the Spring Sacrafice would be made and a whole lot of other things. Hundreds and thousands of people were expected, not counting in the population of Cuan itself.
The City of the Rivers' Crossing was beautiful and ideal for this festival, she thought. And the weather wasn't bad either, sunny and warm for a day in early spring.
Her caretaker, Amy Bansagart, Priestess of Lodan Lir herself, had a date with her boyfriend and a few other guests after the formalities and duties were done, so she was free to roam the Festival by her lonesome - that'd be awesome, she concluded, but duties came first.
Duties as Envoy of Lodan Lir always came first, she thought as she fixed her orange-blonde long hair into a Selkie-braid, something she could do rather well by now. Looking like she wanted it to, she gave herself in the mirrow a firm nod and grinned.
Still... today would be awesome, she concluded, as she came down to breakfast in the main hall a few minutes later - it was half past seven in the morning and the Ropaire Inn was already busy tending to its guests.
She wondered who she would meet during the day...

Approaching the mouth of the river system that will lead up to the festival area is a small 11m long sailing yacht, the Luna Mysteria, on board are two women, one older, one younger, both dressed in black skin tight outfits for now.

At the helm is Michaela Michaelska, the younger of the two, Zoe Mariner, the older, is going about the task of bringing down for stowage the yachts sails for this boat has been under sail from Mi'aza in the Aurora Confederacy.

"Micky, ya see the light house over there?" Calls Zoe
"Yeah, ya want me to head there?" Was Micky's reply
"Yeah, there is a marina just around it, we are mooring there as we are too tall for bridged upstream " calls Zoe, "right, that's it, sails secure" Zoe tugs one last time on a rope "okay Micky, kick the auxie over, and head in"

Micky Turns a key and with a whine and a cough, the small diesel engine comes to life then as Micky eases the throttle forwards the engine note builds encouragingly and after a couple of minutes it is gently purring away.

Zoe takes hold of the radio, "Harbour control, Luna Mysteria, request permission to enter Marina complex please, Luna mysteria" her language on the radio is polite, professional and not your averge yachtie's radio manner. With the mic down, she turns to Michaela, "passports are in the grab bag, as are visas, get them ready, I'll take the helm"

Michaela nods and steps aside to allow Zoe to take the helm before going into the cabin to get papers ready as Zoe steers the boat around the break water into a marina.

Béal was a relatively small, quaint town, absolutely unfitting for housing such an important harbour as the one of the Imeall-River - nevertheless, it was a quaint town with a small marina. Long ago, it had been a harbour of the SDF-Navy, who stationed Torpedo Boats there, but after they had left, it had become a marina for the various people with yachts to park them there, either because they wanted to explore the shore or because they wanted to travel further inland.
Both were eccelent options from Béal, which was also a common target for Backery Navigators, but that did not bother the locals, quite on the contrary.
The Harbour Control was a small tower, the former control tower of the SDF-Navy Station Béal, with a light at the top and a radio room below that. The officer in charge nodded as he heard the call and thought, that he had a woman on the other side of the line: "Luna Mysteria, you are cleared for docking at wharf four. Please keep your passports, visas and the vessel itself ready for inspection by the Water Police. Welcome to the Free Lands, lassie, hope you like your stay!"
Indeed, as he said that, a small patrol of the Water Police made its way over to wharf four, four policemen, one woman and three men, with a Grey Wolf, all in uniform with protective vests and one of the men openly carrying a submachine gun. It was nothing personal, but too often in the past, small harbours such as Béal's had been used to smuggle in contraband by laws of the Selkie.
Not anymore, if they could help it. The officer only hoped, that the small boat was without contraband as the lassie had sounded quite nice.

It was a lengthy journey from AHSCA to Selkie by the seas, days of ups and downs for Kumiko and her daughter, Mamiko. Though technically a business trip it was also a personal trip for the both of them they'd get to spend time together to make up for some lost time for Kumiko's time served. As she wasn't really convicted of a crime it wasn't recorded on her passport and she was hoping to keep that matter quite while she was here in Selkie. Over the last while Selkie goods had been catching on like wildfire in AHSCA, locals and tourists alike loved them and that was what was bringing them here.

Mamiko leapt onto the bed of her mother in their little cabin. "Maaaamaaaa wake up! Come on come on!"

"Yaaaaa" Kumiko yawned out "Mamiko."

"It's morning mama! And guess what the boat stopped moving that must mean we're here right?"

"Eh!?" Kumiko shot up "Oh my we did dock! We must have gotten in late last night." Kumiko scrambled to get their things together if they didn't disembark soon they'd probably be on their way to Carnelian Island next. "It's nice and pretty out, not like last night."

"hurry up and get dressed, sweet we gotta move."

"Yes mama but I still need help with the obi"

Mamiko was 6 years old now, more capable of starting to dress herself but still needed her mother's help. "Let's see. Passports, luggage, samples, good good."

"It's really okay to take stuff in? Didn't that paper we had to fill out ask about cont-cont-"

"Oh contraband, well yes but they usually mean stuff that's not good like kinds of plants, animals, food, medicine. I'm only showing kinds of clothing and books that won't be bad."

"Oooh."

"All right sweet I got you dressed, can you hurry now?"

"Yes mama"

hand in hand with a small cart they made way off. "Just in time, lady" a sailor mentioned getting them checked from their manifest "Another 10 minutes you'd be on your way to a 6-week trip."

"Yeah and 2700 Credits poorer."

"Okay Oumae, Kumiko daughter Mamiko you're checked off. Port Authority is just down there."

"Thank you, have a safe trip."

"mama, breakfast?"

"Oh, we'll get some soon as we get to the Inn, kay honey?"

"Okay."

"Oh it's pretty here."

"Yeah nice and warm. Ms Tainaka said it could be cold."

The customs officer of Béal Harbour, not the marina on the other side of the mouth, but the real honest-to-the-Gods harbour, looked at the small ferry and the relatively small amout of people getting off, amongst them a young woman with a girl at her side, both clad in traditional looking attire.
As the ferry had come from the big round, amongst other collecting passengers from the United Island States, he wouldn't have much guesses to say, where the two came from. With the small cart, they looked a bit like migrants, but that could be cleared once they were in line.
With the customs officer were five other officers of the Water Police, one of them with a large, trained Grey Wolf on a leash, who watched every move with alert eyes.
He addressed the whole group with a smile: "Welcome to the Free Lands of the Selkie, people. In the name of the Water Police, I hope, that your trip was pleasant and your stay will be even more pleasant. Before we let you run off into the wild, though, we need to check your visas, passports and have this guy..." He pointed to the Grey Wolf, "...have a good sniff of you and your bags. I am sorry for the inconvinience. And another thing, please do not try to pet him, no matter how cute and fluffy he looks. So... volunteers first, rest after that!"

"Oh of course, no trouble at all it's what's expected." Kumiko pulled her and her daughter's passports and other documents they had. "Hear that sweetie don't reach out just keep your hands in."

"Yes, mama. Mama is that a wolf?"

"It sure is so you need to be careful. You don't have anything I don't know about?" Her little daughter always had an apatite and had the tendency to carry food on her sometimes

"No, mama I promise."

"Good girl. They'll just check us out and we'll head on our way."

Amongst the first to be checked was indeed the small family, either washed forward or volunteering, the customs officer checking their papers didn't know as he took them with a nod.
"Hello, there, little lady.", he greeted the girl, before turning to her mother, smiling, "Ma'am. Mistress Oumae..." He checked the papers, the passports and the documents. Meanwhile, the Grey Wolf came forward and sniffed at the two of them, his gaze lingering a bit on the girl. He looked at her, took another sniff, then went further down. "...looks good. Welcome to the Land of the Living - have fun!"
He handed the documents back and nodded to one of his fellow officers, who made way for them to pass him.
And with that, the two of them were cleared to enter Béal itself - a small, quaint town, cobbled streets and timbered buildings, the locals friendly and the train station with the iron horse about to depart for Cuan in a few minutes opposite to the customs station.

"Ah thank you so kindly. Let's go, Mamiko" she took her daughter by the hand and lead her along "Ooh this place is lovely and quaint. Not at all what I expected."

"Oooh pretty. Mmmm food?"

"Oh right, we need to get moving. Let's see." She hated to look like a tourist but she was at this point she had a map out and everything next to all their baggage.

"Let's see we should be here. We just go down this way we should find our stay. Looks like not too far from here let's get a move on. Hold my hand now, don't need you getting lost."

"Yes, mama."

It was a decent walk down the streets they couldn't help but admire the exotic location they were in, probably ended up taking more time than needed. Sometimes they would stop to admire some of the storefront windows or just the unique buildings. "The streets are made of stone my geta go click-clack, click-clack all day long."

"Yes but your poor feet will be going bump-bump when we're done. I told you to wear your zori, silly girl."

"but I like the clacking noises."

"Well look here I think we've found it."

"Yay then we get to eat!"

Inside they went to greet at the counter. "Hi, uuuh held room for Oumae?"

The person manning the reception counter, a younger woman with quite the beautiful eyes, sparkling like emeralds, complimenting her black hair, wearing Geansai, grinned and nodded before she looked into the books.
It was a typical inn's entrance hall, a room with a few benches and lots of doors going off, one into the staff area, one larger one to the restaurant part and one to the housing, the latter being a staircase.
There was also a comfortable carpet and, in a corner, a small basket with a grey cat lazing about in it, one with a rather long tail and a pair of huge ears. She didn't spare the two visitors a glance, but was wholly occupied with napping, the noblest of feline pasttimes.
The young woman frowned.
"I don't have an Oumae, but an Omae.", she said, stabbing her finger into the book and looking up, "Mother and daughter, from the United Island States. Would that be correct?"

The officer in charge nodded as he heard the call and thought, that he had a woman on the other side of the line: "Luna Mysteria, you are cleared for docking at wharf four. Not anymore, if they could help it. The officer only hoped, that the small boat was without contraband as the lassie had sounded quite nice.

Arriving at the berth, Micky held the boat on the throttle as Zoe leapt ashore with a line in hand in order to tie the boat up, she looked at the border guards and the large wolf,
"morning, sorry for dragging you out for the formalities at this ungodly hour" she said with a smile as she secured the boat by the bow, then again by the stern after Micky threw the line to her, "Hop on and take a look around, Wolfie there may struggle to get in, its a little cosy inside" Zoe was not lying either, the 34ft sailing boat had a cabin in the middle that doubled up as the general room, a cabin up forward which was the bedroom, 2 berths under the aft deck and a shower off to one side with a toilet cubicle to the other side. Through the centre of the main cabin was also the mast, a wide aluminium pole that went to the keel of the craft. Wood inside was teak, a little weathered as the boat was made in the mid 1980s so its been around a bit, and the hull outside is also weathered slightly but despite its age is in excellent condition having been well looked after.

Micky flicked a switch on the console panel that turned off the navigation lights and switched on the mooring light, letting everyone who needs to know, that this boat is now officially going nowhere and is moored up and then turned the key that shut down the small diesel engine. On the table in the main cabin area were the passports and the travel visas, a small camera whilst the smell of a gently burning propane hob accompanied by the sound of simmering water could only mean one thing, a warm drink is probably not too far away, the kettle certainly seemed to be giving off some steam, although it wasn't quite ready for tea just yet.

Michaela, standing below one of the bright LED lights glistened, or at least her outfit did, its form fitting wet look texture accentuating her curves and features looked at the border guards, "you guys want a drink?" she asked as Zoe climbed back aboard and made her way behind the guards, smiling at the wolf. "Micky, get some drinks on for our official guests"

"ZO, its already in hand" she replied.

The passports were of an electronic chip type, so they could be read either by the regular human eye like any passport, or scanned through a machine whilst the chip gave up data pertaining to their activities back home. such as crossing regional borders to get in or out of neighbouring countries, medical information such as alergies, blood type and even their doctor!, fingerprint and retinal scans, its all on the passports.

"oooh kitty" Mamiko took notice of the cat. Mamiko almost went over but Kumiko quickly pulled her back to her side. "Mmm I don't know if you need our papers or not. Also we haven't eaten all morning, there somewhere here or close by to eat?"

Samuel dlT. Cui
En route to Selkie territory
1023 NVT

It wasn't often that Samuel had the opportunity to take the yacht out for travel. The Indomitable Spirit was technically a prototype, after all, and this was her first long distance trip from the Consolacion shipyard.

"Boss," said the skipper, "we're approaching Selkie territory. You sure you have everything you need?"

"Mike, you know I'm your boss, right? I'm good...on second thought, I could use a smoke."

"You didn't take your cigars from the cabin?" Samuel was a cigar chomper, treating his cigars like fine wine.

"Well, why didn't I think of that?"

20 minutes later

"Harbor Control, this is the Indomitable Spirit requesting permission to enter Marina." Here, Michael Ybañez's VCN background began to show; VAI had hired him after he left the Navy. Repeating the request, he began to cough.

"Boss, I know this is your boat, but do you mind?" Mike asked, coughing again from the strong scent of tobacco.

"Oh, sorry about that," Samuel replied before heading out to finish his cigar. He had his papers ready, in any case. Passport, Visa, and even the relevant licenses for his sidearm, an M1911 clone, were in his ready bag, and as the yacht made her final approach, he took one last drag from his cigar before stubbing it on the ashtray.

The plane ride was still going, and it was already about ten hours out of Sceidan from Kuzu International in Osako. Of course, the hassle of a public flight was avoided since Akiko booked a private airline service for her and her band. Carrying all of their equipment; amps, guitars, bass, speakers, drums, along with suitcases full of personal items. This would be Akiko's first concert in the Free Lands, along with her band 'Ethereal Death.' She was excited, and her flight was nearing it's destination. As she waited, she sat in a comfy leather seat, sipping a glass of champagne whilst doodling on a notepad and listening to the entirety of "Like An Everflowing Stream" by Dismember. Akiko was interested in metal from a young age, and she wasn't going to start this band just for the aesthetic and how it was popular with a large demographic. Akiko was one of the still-true musicians left, those who weren't brought up by corporations and taught to be 'good people.' Akiko prided herself on her resolve.

Around 20 minutes later, the plane touched down at Silverport International. Upon arriving, Akiko and her bandmates had their luggage checked and once they were cleared, they boarded a train to Cuan Main. Akiko would have taken a boat to the town if she could, but it was much easier and safer to store the band's precious and expensive musical equipment on a private plane, in case it were to be eyed-up by a passer-by or suffer water damage. Once aboard the train and their luggage packed away, Akiko and her band members enjoyed another relaxing journey toward Cuan, their final destination. Whilst they waited for the train to snake it's way into Cuan main, the crew took time to relax and nap or mess around with their mobile devices, hoping to burn off some jet-lag.

Aboard a Train traveling from Silverport Main to Cuan Main

King Yoshio sat and stole a sideways glance out the train window at the picturesque scenery rolling past. The boy had spent much of the journey from Silverport with his hands and face pressed against the glass but had since found it in himself to sit quietly. Not that it really mattered how the little king conducted himself at the moment, with only himself and Sir Larra, White Knight of the Royal Guard alone in their cabin.

The knight watched the little king type some more nonsense on his blasted smartphone before taking a small sip from his beverage, a chilled mango and cream drink that was a favorite of his majesty. It was awful pretty thoughtful of the train company to stock traditional Ruvian drinks like that one for this trip. They had managed to reserve a private car for the king;s privacy and security, a feat which took no small amount of effort or expense, considering the huge rush of travelers for the Spring Festival, but the train company was surprisingly open to such a request under the circumstances. Larra suspected that they wanted to tell future tourists riding the train and wealthy big shots interested in the luxury cabin that a king had rode in it. Yoshio had originally wanted to take the public ferries but he was easily talked into the train ride instead.

King Yoshio finished off his drink and prepared to change clothes. He had been dressed in a simple grey coat and a ball cap with the logo of New Ru City's professional basketball team, as the Royal Guard felt it would be best if the king kept a low profile until they were safely aboard the train. Now however that was almost certainly no longer useful, the train's staff would have no doubt made certain that all the passengers were aware of them with their chattiness, (though it wasn't like a draylin child would be able to avoid drawing attention around these parts anyway.) so Yoshio may as well be allowed to change into something more befitting of the King of Ru. Larra opened up the locked case made especially for King Yoshio's crown. The boy had his own simple little roller suitcase for the rest of his finery but that stuff, though ludicrously expensive, was all replaceable, the crown was not.

The boy king was now dressed in an outfit styled somewhat after traditional garb of the old Ruvian nobility. It was blue and light fitting, since the temperature was supposed to be a bit warmer today. His crown was made to fit a child's head. it was yellow gold and along it were 9 different colored gems representing each of the old ruling noble houses of Ru's 9 great regions, as well as a row of gnarled spikes to give a bit of a modern twist on a traditional design. The knight adjusted the crown for the little king and brushed aside a couple stray hairs from his face as the train started to approach the Cuan station where the king would depart and be turned over to the custody of the Selkie and their government's chosen escort.

The leader of the small group of the Water Police shook his head. "Thanks for the offer, but no. We're on duty.", he explained with a neutral impression, "We're now boarding."
And with that, the officers indeed boarded the small yacht, the Grey Wolf first, the submachine gunner staying on the wharf and alert.
The leader inspected the papers handed to him, the Grey Wolf sniffed around with one man holding his leash. The last one, the woman, looked around, checked for contraband by Selkie-Law but did not find anything. A few minutes later, it was all over as the Grey Wolf turned up with nothing as well.
The leader nodded and pulled off his cap. "Well, then. That means, that you are clear and free to enter the Free Lands.", he said in a more friendly tone, "Welcome to the Land of the Living. Have fun!"

Her heart sunk for just a moment with worry but relief quickly followed. "Oh yes, Omae. That's right we're from the UIS!" She smiled "Worried there a moment this is our first time overseas."

"oooh kitty" Mamiko took notice of the cat. Mamiko almost went over but Kumiko quickly pulled her back to her side. "Mmm I don't know if you need our papers or not. Also we haven't eaten all morning, there somewhere here or close by to eat?"

The young woman behind the counter nodded and smiled, noting something down in the book. "Well, I'd need your passport, please. As for eating..." She pointed towards one of the doors, the largest one, "That one leads into the restaurant area of the inn. There's breakfast time, currently, so you are free to grab a bite to eat."
Indeed, they were. Most notably, a group of three women, relatively middle aged, in their late thirties, sat at a table relatively in the middle, two blondes and a violet haired one clad in Geansai, the latter with an orange-furred animal by her feet, who was having a good, little nap in its own, cute way. The three of them were having a breakfast in companionable silence, enjoying the full course of bread, ham, butter, cheese and all the other good stuff, including good tea, which filled the room with a warm aroma.
It looked inviting, in its own, rustic way of wooden furniture, a counter of the bar in a corner, where a waitress sat on the counter while a barman cleaned his glasses, as well as a small, empty stage in another corner. A large door led into the kitchen. Light streamed in through a series of windows, illuminating the room.

Béal Harbour Control sure was not unbusy this morning, quite on the contrary.
That was good, the officer thought... until the person at the other end of the line began to cough - sirens flashed in his head, countless emergency scenarios in his head as he replied with hurry with worry: "Indomitable Spirit, this is Béal Harbour Control, is everything alright? Please enter the harbour at wharf five..." Which was next to the other boat he just allowed to dock, the one with the charming lassie. "...and be ready for inspection by the Water Police. Welcome to the Free Lands!"
A short radio call on another frequency made the officers, who just finished the inspection of the Luna Mysteria, hurry over to the other side of the wharf, wharf five, and make ready to receive another boat. The marina's resident doctor was informed to be ready for a medical emergency as well.
There was quite a bit of tension with everyone present.

Far more relaxed was the train ride from Silverport to Cuan, the early morning train was always relaxed, even on the day of the Spring Festival.
It wasn't hard to add another car for private passengers, this time the King of Ru, a nice young fellow on a 'more or less a state visit', to the train and still come to the city by the rivers meeting in time and on schedule. It was not because the company wanted to brag about a King choosing their services, they could do that anyway, but because they had been asked nicely - being nice opened many doors in the Free Lands.
In Cuan itself, on the main railway station, there was an area set aside for the greeting of their guest, no red carpet, but three people waiting. One of them wore, completely and officially, Blue Dress of the SDF-Army, rank insignia of a Sergeant on her shoulders, a brunette woman with her hair tied behind her head in a ponytail, blue eyes and a friendly face. The next was a bit older, a brunette as well, but with green eyes, her long hair open and combed, not styled, wearing a Geansai and wearing it well, maybe despite, maybe because of her age, a friendly smile on her lips. Third was a man, a bit older, but not too old, leading the three, his hair white, eyes blue. He was very nervous.
It was not every day, that his beloved little Cuan got such a high-ranking visitor as the King of Ru and, as it was official, he, as the mayor, had to greet him.
It wasn't the first time he... who was he kidding, it was his first time greeting such a high ranking guest. He hoped, that it would be alright.

Unless one watches news often, there'd be no one in the entire Free Lands able to recognize the president of Krugeristan--save for the Banisphoras.

Having learned that foreigners were attending the festival as well, Golahman spent the entire flight sobbing. He was dressed modestly, wearing a black sweater, black pants, black boots, and a dark-blue cape and hood, clipped together with a blue brooch. He knew the drill: embarrass foreign diplomats as much as he could with his humility and malnourished appearance. Even with a little pep talk from his best friend and closest ally, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Golahman was thoroughly uncomfortable that he was travelling without his personal guard, Sergei Vershenov.

Corporal Evanu wasn't a bad guard, but he volunteered for the trip after a heated argument between Golahman and Vershenov, all because Vershenov was thoroughly steamed over the invitation mentioning "contraband".

"If this invitation is asking about contraband," Vershenov growled, "then there's bound to be whores and sons-of-whores carrying it with them!"

Golahman lay down the law; Vershenov wouldn't go, and was ordered to perform inspections on Krugeristan's nuclear weapons plants--one of the most boring jobs in the country--while the president was gone.

Evanu was one of Golahman's estate guards. He had been present for the Halloween and Christmas parties, and had a few years of combat experience in him. He hadn't done any diplomatic tours, and his only rules were to watch over his president and--the personal favorite of every Krugeristani guard--shoot to kill when necessary.

After landing in the Free Lands, the plane was silent, until Golahman was heard sobbing, "What if Fiona's not outside to greet me?"

Evanu, a few years younger than Golahman, and had a face that looked like it was taken from a color album of young German soldiers from World War II, offered his hand to the president. "It'll be alright, sir," he said, "We'll go find her, I promise."

Golahman weakly took a tissue, wiping his face before throwing the wadded tissue away and taking Evanu's hand. "OK," he whispered, standing up.

The two men stepped off the plane, Evanu walking a few steps behind Golahman, who pulled up his hood. As he stood at the bottom of the ramp, he looked at the sky, knowing he had been here before, and a massive pain surged within his stomach as all of his worst fears ran a marathon in his head. He was tempted to scream, finding himself unable to. What people always got wrong about him was that he didn't want no one to greet him; he only wanted a select few people to greet him.

The waitress, now with their orders, smiled, nodded and went on her merry way. "Be back in a sec!", she told the two Islanders, making way to the kitchen.
The three women gave the two a look, nodded in greeting with friendly smiles and turned back to each other and their breakfasts. The bundle of fur, however, saw his interest taken, especially by the girl.
He was a Fire Fennek, so called because of his fur of the colour of fire, and he slowly stood up to first stretch sore muscles and then to pad over, one slightly hesitant step after the other.

Traverse International this early in the morning had not many planes arriving. To be precise, there were only a handful.
And, of course, the plane of the President of Krugeristan and a plane of Gabha's own Fleet, the latter of which stood on the tarmac, ready to depart at a moment's notice.
Just as Golahman arrived at the bottom of the ramp, someone exited the terminal, a low building. She was a brown-haired woman, her hair long long and open, brown eyes sparkling as they beheld the blonde man in simple clothing at the ramp, and with curves, where curves belonged, well-trained, only accentuated by the clothes she wore, the Tribal Garnments of her people in her Tribe's colours.
Indeed, Fiona Banphrionsa of the Tribe of Cavan was quite a looker and she was Golahman's girlfriend - and she overslept due to excitement, explaining her hurry.
"Karak!", she called with joy as she hurried over, running. "Hey!"

When the train arrived in Cuan, Akiko began gathering her things immediately, she was certainly excited to meet new people and of course, perform her first concert in The Free Lands. As the band exited the train, a few people snapped photos of the band. Akiko smiled and waved at everyone she could, allowing her photo to be taken for whatever heavy metal magazine she was to be featured in this month. Boarding an already awaiting cab, the band road to their accommodations at the Ceol Inn, already previously booked by Akiko's managers.

Entering the lavish interior of the hotel, Akiko admired the Selkie architecture, gazing up at the ceilings and about the walls, taking in the fresh air of the lobby, and the smell of oncoming spring from outside. Coming back to reality, Akiko realized she was already at the receptionist desk. She smiled politely. The band had five members, Akiko included, and thus booked two rooms for the members, paid in advance.

"Hello, two rooms for Ryuzaki Akiko, please and thank you." Akiko gave the receptionist a light bow, as was customary in Sceidan when greeting an employee of an establishment and then making a request.

Indeed, Fiona Banphrionsa of the Tribe of Cavan was quite a looker and she was Golahman's girlfriend - and she overslept due to excitement, explaining her hurry.
"Karak!", she called with joy as she hurried over, running. "Hey!"

Evanu smiled out of happiness for his president. "I do believe, and, please, correct me if I'm mistaken, that is your beloved?"

"Yes," Golahman replied, flushing back to a normal color as Fiona ran toward him. He couldn't help but run toward her, his arms outstretched. He swiftly embraced her, holding her tightly--or as tightly as a man of his poor strength could. "Greetings," Golahman breathed, smiling. "It is so good to see you again!"

Evanu quietly walked from behind, simply observing. He offered only a polite smile before looking in the distance to give the two a moment.

Sceidan wrote:When the train arrived in Cuan, Akiko began gathering her things immediately, she was certainly excited to meet new people and of course, perform her first concert in The Free Lands.

Cuan's Ceol Inn prided itself with being one of the most venerable houses of its kind in the Free Lands, both by age and by reputation. That included a good, professional and friendly staff.
The young man at the reception returned the bow with a friendly smile and spoke: "Welcome to the Ceol Inn, Miss. Please give me a moment to check." He then turned to the registry book, where all reservations were noted down and ran his finger down the column with the names booked for. Indeed... "Yes, here you are, Miss Ryusaki, two rooms for a band playing on the square. One moment, please."
With a small smile, the young man pressed a button and not even fifteen seconds later, a group of people appeared with friendly expressions.
"These lads and lassies will help you with your bagage, if you want. Don't worry about any of your equipment, they are used to handling delicate material.", the receptionist said as he reached for the keys. "Rooms 2-12 and 2-14, meaning second floor, left hallway. Excellent view of the city. If you need anything, please feel free to ring the bell. Have a nice stay!"
Rooms 2-12 and 2-14 were right next to each other, two of the larger rooms on the second floor, in fact, the only rooms on that side of the floor, reachable only via stairs. They had large common rooms with seating groups of sturdy sofas and two large bedrooms with the softest beds one could imagine, a bit like sleeping on a cloud. A bathroom with shower and toilet was added to it as well, as well as a small balcony, which indeed gave a wonderful view of the City of Cuan. Bathrobes, towels and everything else were supplied, including two herbal shampoos per shower of a local producer, one having a soft scent of a field of wild flowers in spring, the other more a herbal skin lotion with a scent of lavender. There was a fruitbowl on the table in the common room and a brass bell, which would be used to call the bellboy of the room.
All in all, there was a reason, why those were the two most expensive rooms of the inn.

Fiona returned the hug with as much force - not because she did not love him, but because she feared, that if she squeezed him harder, he would break. She knew about his dietary habits and although she could see the reason behind that, she wasn't in total agreement.
"Hi, Karak...", she whispered back, burying her face in his shoulder, "Missed you. A lot."
She indeed did - no day passed without the young businesswoman thinking of him, nearly in any free minute and in some, that weren't free, where she longed for a letter, a call, something from her beloved... so much so, that Sio got a bit jealous, but he also provided her with the company to fill her heart at least a bit.
But... No one could replace her Karak, not even her beloved animal companion.

And I have a rather detailed factbook (forever WiP).
My people are called the Selkie, the nation is usually called the Free Lands in MT-settings. Thanks.

Have fun!"

As the harbor police left the boat, Zoe and Micky offered handshakes before leaving them to their own devices as a much larger boat pulled in, seeing the boat, Mickt grabbed a camera and took a photo, its navigation lights reflecting in the water, after all it is early morning and the sun was yet to rise, "hey Zo, ya wanna see this!" she calls, resulting in Zoe scampering to the aft deck, causing the small boat to rock as she does. Zoe, being a former ships captain appreciates the status of the large prototype vessel, "yeah Micky, there's a couple a million there babe, so someone has some money." she replies keeping a listening ear focused on the 2-way radio, "well I be dammed, its swinging this way as its going on the other side of the pontoon Micky"

Micky turns to face Zoe, "hope it doesn't squish us" she says with a bit of humor As the guards hustled and a blue flashing light from a doctors vehicle came along the quay, Zoe's face became one of curiosity, "Micky, looks like something isn't good, doctor is on his way over, anyway lets hope they're all right" As the Indomitable Spirit came along side the jetty Zoe leant in and grabbed a walkie talkie and tuned it to the harbor frequency
"Indomitable Spirit, Indomitable Spirit, Zoe of the Luna Mysteria here, need help to tie up? Over" she called in a polite, calm voice.

To Pony, off-world and fantasy nations, note; alien beings, fantasy beings (sentient dragons, ponies, non humans including vampires and cyborgs etc), can't cross into this universe and write from their perspective, as it's based on a MODERN TECH HUMAN ONLY SETTING SORRY!! This also includes Cloned humans as M/T technology has not progressed in cloning entire humans yet. PS I don't do war RP's either.

"I missed you, too," Golahman whispered, "I . . . I wanted to write, but . . . I wasn't sure what to say, even though I said I was a better writer than speaker. I spent a long night sitting over a piece of paper, but, I couldn't even get past 'Dear'." He blushed a little, embarrassed, even worried that his writer's block meant something different to Fiona. "I do apologize for not writing, or calling. Along with my inability to write, I've been a little busy. My yearly conference with President Putin is coming up in a few weeks, and I've been stashing away my meager salary to make sure he has a decent visit. Assad is doing well, too, and he told me to say 'hello' to you for him."

LT Michael J. Ybañez, VCN (Ret.)
Indomitable Spirit

"We're fine, I just told our passenger to smoke outside, never mind me," Michael replied to whoever was on the other end of the line. "I say again, everything is under control." Lowering the microphone, he turned to Samuel.

"You really got everyone's attention there, boss."

"Sorry about that. How's our ventilation?"

"Nominal. I take it you'll be off once we dock?"

"Absolutely," Samuel finished, only to have a different voice call out from the radio. Unlike Harbor Control, the voice had a soothing effect to it.

"Radio."

"I know, boss." At that, Michael returned to the radio to reassure the Luna Mysteria that the situation was under control.

5 minutes later

Samuel disembarked from the Indomitable Spirit with his papers in one hand and his luggage in the other. Seeing the medical crew on standby with police officers nearby, he figured that now was a good time for a checkup. Admittedly, he wasn't entirely used to traveling long distances by sea, and even a green light from back home two days before going underway made little difference to him.

The Selkie wrote:The waitress, now with their orders, smiled, nodded and went on her merry way.

"Thanks very much." Kumiko thanked.

"Hey mama do you know a lot about Selkie?"

"I think I know a few things I quickly read up before coming."

"Do you think they have really big storms like we have back home?"

"Well that I don't know but I'm sure we'll be fine while here after all they're having a festival and I'm sure they'd want to make sure the weather would be good for that."

"oooh" she nodded. "It's lovely today since we came ashore." Kumiko spotted from the corner of her eyes bright colors it caught her attention thinking maybe it was a person dressed up "Eh?" She noticed it was an animal

"Awww cuuuute!" Mamiko cooed at the sight hopping up from her seat. "Careful, dear"
