Junior Gods of Anara (IC/Sign Up In OOC)

Postby Nuridia » Sat Feb 18, 2017 7:05 pm

Hopefully this will fare better than my Angelic RP, although I do plan to reboot that one because it's awesome.`I’m not done with the races yet, y’all. I had this idea in my storage for about two or three months but didn’t want to pull it out until I was sure on it, but I think it’ll be a hit so here it is. If anybody can help out with races or the lore, just discuss your ideas in the thread. This will double as a worldbuilding thread in addition to the OOC, because why not? Also gotta give credit to my awesome friend Tomia who was an amazing sounding board and who helped me with some of these ideas.

In the world of Anara, magic abounds. That about sums it up, nobody even asks about the existence of magic because almost everybody knows. Of course not everybody has the gift of magical use, but it’s thick in the very air around them. Humans and other races live side by side, although not always in harmony. Some love it, some fear it but they all know that it’s there.
And the magic is also interwoven with the gods, the people of Anara know that their gods are real and there’s no doubt about it. Immensely powerful, immortal and with domain over every aspect of the universe, the gods are responsible for the balance of their world. They vary, these loved and sometimes loathed deities. Some are kind, some are cruel, some are petty, some are wise, but many are as implacable as nature itself. Some of them even have children with mortals, called demigods. And these demigods are often famous as scientists, heroes and warriors all throughout history. They are revered and worshipped and often called upon by their worshippers in times of great peril. Most fancy themselves untouchable and many nearly are, but not everybody loves the gods. In fact some might even say that they’ve ruled long enough and it’s time for somebody else to rule. Of course this almost never works for mortals but they’ve never given up trying. For all of their different domains, all gods and goddesses have the same few abilities, the ability to change shape at will and the ability to possess a vessel, or human body and speak through them. All deities are technically genderless, but they go with the gender that they prefer and identify with and that’s their form:
Junior gods, or godlings as they are called are gods and goddesses in training. Often appearing as young children or early teenagers despite being hundreds or even thousands of years old, they are immensely powerful in their own right but with watered down versions of their aspects and nowhere nearly as powerful as a senior god, or a full fledged deity. There are trials and tests that junior gods go through every million years to prove that they are worthy of being senior gods. If they pass they receive their full powers in a graduation ceremony of some sort. Like for instance the junior god/goddess of fire would receive the Sacred Flame, the first fire ever lit and the origin of fire in the universe. They’d absorb it into themselves and become the new god/goddess of fire.
Senior gods: Now senior gods are a little more tricky, they’re the Big and the Bad. These great kahunas have been around for millennia, some even as old as or older than the world. These are your big guys, the gods that literally shape Anara and the creatures that lie therein. God of time, Goddess of night, god of the sun, you know, peeps like that. Could crumble an entire planet if they wanted to, and their wars have thundered and raged over Anara during wartime and when it’s peacetime has provided stability. Here’s a list of some of the senior gods:

Morte: God of death, lord and king of the underworld and the guardian of the spirits of the dead. Many on Anara fear him because they’re in no rush to meet him, but he’s actually one of the nicest gods. Although you DON’T want to piss him off, he has a foul temper. He has three beloved daughters, only one is biologically his but the other two are adopted and he loves them just as well. Melinoe, goddess of ghosts, Makaria, goddess of the blessed dead and Asteria, the junior goddess of the stars.

Nyx: Goddess of the night and of darkness. A primordial goddess who’s been around since before Anara was formed, she was born directly from Chaos. Implacable and mysterious, she’s extremely powerful and even the god rulers fear her wrath.

Morphi: God of sleep, husband of Nyx and just as powerful as his wife, he’s definitely no pushover. He once cast his brother, the king of the gods himself into a hundred year sleep because he reneged on a loan. The ruler of the gods still is miffed about that.

Indra: God of the weather, lightning and storms, king of the gods.
Asuna: God of the sky and of rain, twin brother of Asuna

Solange: Goddess of light, the dawn and the sun and queen of the gods, wife of Indra

Now, you play as one of the many races on Anara, a junior god/goddess or a senior god/goddess, the possibilities are nearly endless. Because it’s that time, a new crop of junior gods has been sent to Amara to live among the mortals and go through their training, tasks assigned from the senior gods. Some will make the cut, some won’t but that doesn’t mean they won’t all work for it. And not all of the senior gods want them to succeed, these “young upstarts” possibly usurping them and will try in ways to stop them. However what most don’t know is that there is a great evil rising in the west, one that can spell the doom of not only the mortals but the gods as well.

Races of Anara:
Humans: The weakest and most numerous race on the continent, humans usually have a lifespan of about eighty to a hundred years, although some species of humans have incredibly long lifespans. Humans may not have powers, but they’re highly intelligent and perceptive most of the time and are excellent survivalists.
Witches/Wizards: A member of any race with magical abilities, usually a result of very distant divine ancestry. Their powers are rather formidable if trained well enough, they’re often respected because of their powers and also feared because of them, with some kingdoms hunting them outright. The traditions that they practice vary from country to country as do their cultures, but one is common among them. Witches often have a mark that sets them apart from normal humans, such as hair or eye colors or some other physical trait that is not found among normal humans, or a distinct birthmark. Most of them practice the tradition of being fully fledged at age fourteen, where they’re to go into the forest and gather the materials to build their own broomstick and wand, for those who use them. Then they go off on their own for a year for their training, usually to a distant relative and return home at the end of their trials. Unlike a demigod however, they have all purpose powers.
Demigod: The offspring of a god/goddess and a human. They sometimes have watered down versions of their godly parents’ abilities or gifts granted to them by their parents. Often taller, more beautiful and stronger than most humans, many have become legends and heroes. Witches are the result of having demigods somewhere in their line.
Dwarves: An ancient and hardy people who are shorter than normal humans and live in underground cities or communities built into mountains, they are known as builders and miners and are the craftsmen and supreme industrialists of the continent. Their jewelry and weapons are said to be the finest ever made, but since they are shy and often mistrustful of other races they are hard to come by. Dwarves are a tight knit community who stick together and stand up for each other, and although many are gruff at first, once you get to know them they are the most loyal friends you will ever have. However they do not take betrayal well at all, promises are sacred to them and if you fail to uphold one, they will not be forgiven. There’s a saying, “a dwarf never forgets” and they never do. They hold grudges like they hold loyalties, for lifetimes.
Elves: A graceful and beautiful race of immortal beings with pointed ears and lithe bodies, they are reclusive in nature and some of the best archers around. They don’t get sick and only fall when they’re killed in battle. However they’re not very physically strong and are actually pretty weak compared to most races.
Dragons: Mighty beasts that come in all sizes and shapes that rule the skies, they are the stuff of legend and f

Factions of Amarna:
Covens: Covens: A coven is a group of thirteen witches or wizards, usually single sex groups though mixed sex do exist. They live, work and practice magic together and they are often feared because of their tendency to be exclusive. A witch or wizard’s magic is most powerful during a full moon, and weakest during a new moon. The Power of Three is a special ability when there are three magic users casting a spell together, the spell is at its most powerful next to the thirteen. However some of the strongest spells require thirteen casters, and that is when the power of a wizard is at its highest.

Tests
Materializing so close to a village.
A great green serpent manifested in a field close to a village, and glared in it's direction.
What folly.
The Serpent was Hsiss, Goddess of Serpents whose name had been uttered in their tongue.
"I had planned to come to the mortal plane of my own accord." The serpent let out a Hiss of annoyance with slight somberness in it's tone.

Orama/Phobos

"Where are we Rama, do you know?" a young handsome boy with black hair dressed in dark clothing asked groggily, sitting up from where he had been lying in the grass. Patting his side to make sure his cap of invisibility was still there he yawned a little and stood up. It was Phobos, the junior god of nightmares and fear. Son of Nyx and Morphi and twin brother of the goddess of dreams. Well, junior goddess anyway. They weren't senior gods yet, but hopefully they would be.

"I don't know, beats me." A young girl in a long purple dress with silvery hair in a high ponytail said back to him, walking over toward him. "Of all the places Lord Indra decides to drop us at, he chooses some field. Well, we do have to live among the mortals for a while so I guess that makes sense." Orama said, fastening her cloak with a pin.`
"Well, where do you think Mother and Father are now? And where are the others, are we the only ones here? Probably not, Aether is so fond of the mortal world she may be here too." Phobos muttered, ruffling his hair.

"I'm hearss." Hsiss spoke as she slithered from behind some cover to meet them. She began to shift as she did so. First she was her typical serpent self. "I disslike thiss." She rose as her snake head began to form the face of a black hair woman, and arms emerged from her sides only to cross in front of her as she looked away. Her body still shifting with a notable reluctance about the waist.

" This village will be a perfect place to lodge for the night," Rolf said as he approached it. He had left the city of Armos early in the morning on a quest of a lifetime. He was trying to find The Fountain of Ascension. This fountain was rumored to make anyone who drank from it a god. If this were true, all Rolf would have to due is drink it and gain the divinity he rightly deserved. Boy would the bards and the scholars love him after that. As he walked into the village everyone stopped what they were doing and stared at him. Suddenly a man yelled," It is the slayer of Grimgore!" Villager than began to swarm Rolf who let out a hearty laugh.

Krynova
Goddess of Suffering and Desire

The young woman practically beamed as she made her way through the village, her eyes breathing in the busy streets as the bustling market ebbed and flowed around her. She meandered between the stalls, looking for nothing in particular but occasionally stopping to glance at a merchant’s wares. There was a spring in each of her steps, a youthful vibrancy that was communicated through the excited glimmer in her eyes. The melody on her lips was nearly lost in the hectic chaos of the early morning market, but the beautiful notes managed to stand out just enough to be noticed. Passing ears strained to pick out each beat and whistle as if it were a treasure. She wore nothing more than the garb of a common peasant, a cloth dress dyed in the dreary colours affordable to the lower class. However, still the merchants found their eyes being drawn relentlessly to her figure. The bland dress was nothing short of a debutante’s gown upon her shoulders, tempting one’s gaze until it lay upon her pristine features. A few found themselves mesmerised, their gaze lingering for a moment too long until they found the glimmering orbs staring right back at them. They would be met with a wink and a smile, causing the colour to rush to their cheeks, before the woman continued on her way without even a backwards glance.

Under any other circumstances, Krynova may have opted to have some more fun in the quaint country town, but nothing that it offered could possibly compare to the excitement that pounded in her chest. She had counted down each agonising day as the trials had approached, dismayed at the torturous wait that she had been forced to endure. Krynova had fantasised of the future that awaited her, of the possibilities that would be revealed in the times to come. The past few months and years had been slow, plodding along like some ungainly prune. There had been no excitement, no crisis in which she could sink her teeth. At times, she had silently wished for Faerus to spark a good war to ease her boredom. Some days she had even contemplated trying to convince his sons to alleviate the suffocating dreariness that had consumed her existence. After all, few things offered as much entertainment as a good war.

And then the dates for the trials had been announced, and everything else melted away in importance.

“It is the slayer of Grimgore!”

A cheer erupted following the shout, drawing Krynova back to the present as her head turned in search of the source. A hub of activity was erupting near the town entrance as villagers began to gather in a sizable crowd, the sudden excitement nearly palpable in the air. Curious, Krynova tried to make out the centre of all the commotion, her eyes landing on a single figure. She raised a slender brow at the sight. He was a well-built man, with handsome features marred by the wounds of a life of adventure seeking fame and fortune. The Goddess wracked her brains for any knowledge of this ‘Grimgore’ but couldn’t recall if she had heard that particular tale before. After a while, all the stories of heroic deeds tended to blur together. They did all tend to be rather predictable in their outcome, after all – happily ever after and all that.

Save for the few where she had decided to intervene in order to spice things up.

Krynova watched the man, content to observe the crowd from a distance as she waited for her kin to gather. At any moment she would be summoned by Indra and the trials would truly begin.

Krynova’s smile widened at the thought. She could hardly wait.

Inasaria was annoyed the moment she had be summoned to a more material plane. She was in the middle of something and had SAID, she would be late. But oh no, these "major" gods just HAD to crash her experiment. Did they know how dangerous out was to leave cross breeding to chance? Did they even care? The last time they did this, a Minotaur was created that took up residence in some giant maze. They blamed another god for that, of course, but still, she'd rather not have to deal with it.

Huffing and cursing at the wind, Inasaria continued her mental rant as she walked through the village. Who knew what kind of test would befall human mind due to this? Perhaps a Leviathan, or a flying pig? Or...Oh no... Was that a giant snake in the field?

Taking off her dusty goggles, she gave them a simple clean and examined the sight with her own trusty eyes. Nope, no escaped experiment. Just Hsiss. Near to them was the two dream twins whose names... Escaped her. Porama and Obos? Not, that wasn't it. Ojama and Feabass? No, that was DEFINITELY wrong. Oh well, she was sure they'd tell her... Or maybe not. Regardless, she let up a hand in greeting and called out a joking taunt.

"If this is the extent of my competition they may as well start building palaces now!" Sure, heads were turned from the village, but she hardly cared. She turned heads anywhere she went. She liked to pretend it was due to some unexplainable charm and allure, but it could be the smell of that wyvern egg she had hidden in her satchel. Best not to let Hsiss know about that, come to think of it.

"Well, I'm Orama and this is Phobos. It's good to meet you!" The twins both greeted Hsiss, noting that even as she started to shift into a human form she didn't get all the way completely there. Although maybe she just felt more comfortable in snake form, there were some deities who preferred an animal form to a human one. It was rare but it was possible.

Suddenly there was a light breeze that stirred up from the fields all the way up to the village, and it grew slightly stronger and started to swirl. Until eventually an airy figure formed into existence, wearing a long white dress patterned with gold and her silvery white hair unbound. She didn't appear older than eleven, and floated above the heads of the other gathered gods.
"Aether!" the twins called out in greeting, the young air goddess beamed down at them. "Hi guys!" she called cheerily, floating down so she could shake hands with them while still hovering inches above the grass.
"You sure know how to make an entrance huh?" Phobos chuckled, which was quite rare for him. The three turned around at the sound of voices and saw another goddess, whom Hsiss was currently arguing with. "Well at least she's confident, I guess." Aether shrugged.

Meanwhile in the village, two figures were making their way through the streets with baskets full on their arms. Both of them were dressed in flowing cloaks, one of them a tall woman with shoulder length red hair and red eyes and a shorter figure, a young boy with short cut red hair and the same red eyes as the woman he was walking next to.
"Mom, can't we just fly home? Why didn't we bring the brooms?" the boy asked her, he appeared to be around eleven or twelve years old although he was tall for his age, pushing his glasses up onto his nose.
"Because Prop, we don't know much about this village. There might be people here who hunt people like us, and we don't want them to do that. Some of them I know actually are amiable to witches, others are not." she whispered back to him when all of a sudden they came upon a large crowd with many villagers shouting.

"It is the slayer of Grimgore!"

"Slayer of...what? What could be going on there?" the woman muttered to herself, cleaning her own glasses before putting them back on. "I dunno, let's go check it out! Come on Mom!" the boy said, taking off toward the crowd.
"Pro...Prosper Booth! Get back here young ma, oh boys!" she said, taking off at a brisk pace after him but refusing to run.

Seeing Hsiss go back into her serpentine form, Inasaria quickly went to work examining both her, and the others, including the new arrival.

"Aye, indeed I would. However, I daresay they are unlikely to make it a written one. However, if they did, I have an idea they could use, not that they'd use it. I call it "multiple choice". It's quite straight forward you see. There is multiple answers below a question, but only one is correct. The tricky part is, more than one are CLOSE to being right. You see, I came upon it when.... Oh, I'm rambling aren't I..."

She cut herself off and once again appraised the arrivals. Thinking out loud, she listed them with randomly thought of nicknames. Whether she did this on purpose or accident was anyone's guess, even hers.

"Let's see here...Slithers, Creepy and Crawly, Airhead, and Ina", she said, ending with herself. "That's a small crowd. Am I early? That'd be a first."

Rolf let out another laugh when the crowd surrounded him. "People, people ', Rolf said while grinning. "I know you all want to bask in my glory but I am afraid I do not have enough time." As Rolf pushed his way through the crowd, he saw a 12 year old boy running towards him . Rolf grinned as he pulled a slip of paper and a lump of charcoal out of his pocket. He then wrote his name on it and handed it to the kid while saying, Here you go kid." He then decided to play to the crowd by grabbing a iron horseshoe. Then, to the amazement of the crowd, he snapped it half like in half like a twig. He then said to the crowd, "Would you like to see anymore feats of strength?"

Xathios

A gust of cold air brushed the village, a few snowflakes even danced above the villagers heads as a boy emerged from the forest. His journey had been a long one, the whole way to the Xathios Shrine atop one of the highest mountains in Anara. He'd seen his followers and he had blessed many of them, letting them live through the next tough winter. Chimes in the distance seemed to announce his arrival to people not attentive enough to notice. Some sort of show was being put on and curiously he made his way over. Rolf, he'd heard of this mortal in his travels and even he had to say he was impressed. Most mortals couldn't have achieved the feats he'd heard about. Then again it wasn't god like either, in his opinion anyways.

He wrapped a cloak tighter around his shoulders as to disguise himself as he ventured closer. He decided to watch the show and see if the man would make anything of himself, to see if his skills are worth the praise of a senior god. Another gust of wind only this time it swept over the crowds head and directly to Rolf, a chilling wind that would kill a mortal child in only a few minutes time. Even he would feel the winds breeze somewhat.

"Thanks Mister, I guess." Prosper muttered, looking at the paper with a confused look on his face. Thalassa caught up with him and gripped his shoulder, causing him to look up. "Mom, do you know who this is? Some guy named Rolf?" he handed the paper to her and the red haired woman read it. "Nope, haven't a clue." she said before a gust of wind swept through the crowd, causing the both of them to pull their cloaks tighter around themselves.
"It's freaking cold!" Prosper cried, huddling close to his mother. "That's odd, it's spring. It's not supposed to be cold." Thalassa said to herself.

Meanwhile Aether merely gave Inasara a placid look when she called her airhead. "It's good to meet you too Ina, I imagine you'd be in your workshop right now." she said calmly. Orama looked offended however when she started giving epithets to everyone. "Creepy and Crawly?! Me and my brother are not creepy and crawly! Why you.....!" she was only being held back by her brother's arm around her waist and hand over her mouth, yelling all the while.

Whilst she was pleased with herself internally for illiciting a reaction, Inasaria was also getting quite impatient. To illustrate this, he foot tapped out a completely manic rythym, as she awaited anyone who may join. "THIS is why I'm never early", she said to herself, quite loudly. "I could be in my workshop discovering how to make words that don't rhyme ACTUALLY rhyme, but no, I was brought her early. Just because they are senior gods they think none of us is working on anything important."

Govaroth Would notice he rise of commotion as many anomalies entered this village. He personally has been here for weeks, disguised as a Poor man dressed in ragged cloth and fish-nets. The face of this god was rugged, worn and adorned with a large beard of grey hair. He spent this time fishing at the local pond and carving a whale bone he'd brought with him from the sea. He'd made a lot of progress on the carving and it was beginning to resemble a white whale as he intended.

However today his usual carving time was interrupted. He had been sitting on a overturned bucket in the village when suddenly he felt the presence of a few of his family in the vicinity and the sparks of divinity everywhere. He would sigh, mumbling to himself, "I come to this remote village for a vacation and of course I stumble into the middle of this...."

Govaroth was a very solitary god. He didn't commonly see his kin unless they came to visit him in the depths of the sea. Which usually was only when they needed him for something.... Apparently his theories on Shark migratory breeding paths were not interesting enough to maintain company. Either way he'd simply sit back and watch to see what his kin were up to in this place. He'd return to his carving, carefully sliding the knife along the sur-

"It is the Slayer of Grimgore!"

his concentration was broken and his blade would cut improperly, leaving the carving scarred. He'd jump up throwing the whale bone into the muddy ground of the village while yelling,"By the Nine Canyons of the Sea! Six Weeks I've been carving this! Ruined! Ruined ruined ruined ruined!" His ranting and raving to himself as he seemingly became oblivious to the crowded village he was having an outburst in. The Rage of the Sea takes many forms.... but few have seen it's terror in the unholy form of an old man in fishnets and peasant garb pissed of over a ruined carving.

Rolf ignored the cold burst that came out of nowhere. He then said to the crowd," For my next feat of strength, I will punch a hole through a piece of sheet metal with one punch." The crowd then muttered with excitement as the town blacksmith brought out a piece of metal. Rolf let out a grin and punched the metal, leaving a hole in it. Rolf then yelled," I, the Slayer of Grimgore the giant, am the strongest man alive. If any man disputes this, let them come up and say so",

Humming a soft little tune to herself, a girl lay on the grass of the obviously grassy plains just outside of a quaint little town whose name she had long forgotten, if she ever knew it in the first place. There was a blissful smile on her face as she looked up at the clear skies, simply bathing her eyes in its azure light and occasionally trying to discern all sorts of arcane shapes in the scarce passing clouds. With nary a concern present in her mind, she was content in observing without purpose and resting while her thoughts freely wandered. But as was often the case when people found themselves with leisure beyond their expectations, her thoughts veered away from the immediately apparent, her senses continuing to perceive the verdant grass beneath her and the endless sky above her as her consciousness instead turned inwards. "Why am I here?", that was the first question she asked herself. Not in any deep philosophical sense, of course; she was simply wondering why she was there, and where was 'there', for that matter.

In the end, after several minutes of unfruitful attempts to remember her current location and the reason for her presence there, the girl decided to seek enlightenment elsewhere. Now, that she could not recall why she was in the mortal plane would perhaps be surprising in the case of others, but the truth was that the forgetful and quite cheerful girl was none other than the Goddess of Oblivion, the one in charge of time and nature's sweetest and most potent salve, that which was sought by the traumatized and the heartbroken alike. Of course, she was not yet aSenior Goddess, not like the two powerful beings that had come together to create her. No, she was a Junior Goddess, a young deity who had yet to assume her full powers and responsibilities, and today was the day her trials began.

Not that she remembered, of course. The cause of her presence in the mortal realm continued to elude her and thus, in order to search for an answer or perhaps more interesting questions, the Goddess, Nil, sat up. She wore a dark purple dress, rather short and extravagant compared to what was commonly accepted in those parts, though of course, she didn't concern herself too much with that. She was free to look however she wished after all, such was her right as a Goddess, Junior or Senior. Standing up, Nil looked at her surroundings as her lilac ponytail swayed back and forth in the gentle breeze. It didn't seem like there was anything interesting going on around her at first, but after observing the landscape for a moment, she noticed silhouettes that clearly belonged to people. Curious, she began heading towards them at a brisk pace.

The Goddess of Oblivion approached and was able to look more closely at the figures she had spotted earlier. As their features became clearer and clearer to her, she noticed that they seemed familiar somehow. She narrowed her eyes as she continued observing them and walking towards them, until eventually, a lightbulb went off inside her head (figuratively speaking of course, as lightbulbs were yet to be invented). They were her fellow Junior Gods! She recognized them now, though their names continued to elude her for now. Regardless, Nil smiled brightly, happy to see her 'friends', and jogged up to them.

"Hello everyone!" She greeted them cheerfully. A moment afterwards, though, she realized that it was rather odd for so many of them to be gathered together, in the mortal plane no less. "Um, what's going on?" The Goddess asked, having quickly forgotten Indra's summoning upon being sent down to Anara a couple of minutes ago.

Up until the point Apium had entered the village, she'd been skipping through a field of flowers, just lazing about. She'd long since forgotten what she was even there to do. But that all ended when she felt that slight change of temperature. She wasn't too far from the village, and even though the breeze was directed at it, she still felt the cold.

Shivering, Apium got up, looking over at the place. Her eyes lit up. She didn't notice it before, although how or why she didn't know. What she did know was that she wanted to explore it, after all, people often worked just as busily as a bee did!

She noticed the junior gods speaking at once, and pried her eyes away from a flower bed that seemed very inviting. She skipped over to them, "Hey there!" She said.

Inasaria prepared to continue asking rhetorical questions and making snarky remarks. However, she was quickly interrupted by the arrival of two new goddesses. She couldn't remember either of their names, but she did remember their titles... Sort of. Goddesses of nothingness and goddess of... She didn't know....Hornets or something? Didn't matter. Hopefully, with these arrivals, it meant that she could start soon.

"Oh good, is this everyone? Pleeease tell me this is everyone", she said shuffling through her satchel. "Let's see...Curved sword? Nah, no one uses those. Actually, I might as well keep it... You never know. Strange tribal mask? Hmmm...it has the potential to be funny with it's accompanying dance but..."

Throwing things out at random, Inasaria finally found what she was searching for. "Ah, here it is." She said. Pulling a a strange, metal tube, Inasaria pulled it out to elongate it. Looking through one end, she started searching the horizon. "Now where is our tester?"

She laid on the bed snugged up against her lover, Glaukos. He was all bruised and battered, bandages were wrapped tightly around his frame. Dunamis didn't care, the only thing that mattered was that her lover came back to her in one piece. Her ruby lips brushed against the cut before she kissed it softly, making the man smile but only slightly. He was far in too much pain to fully enjoy the experience but she could tell that he didn't want her to stop as his arm was wrapped gently around her waist as she kissed his wounds and scars. Dunamis' stomach twisted as if there were a million butterflies in her belly as she ignored her love sickness. It had been far too long since she had no urge to throw up. But she hid it well from her lover, giving out a bright smile to him in between kisses as if everything was normal.

Though, she was far from alright.

Doubt filled the goddess' mind as she suddenly stopped kissing the injured god. Was she only a consort to him? Did Glaukos love her for everything she did and not just for the heat between her legs? She hoped in her mind that it wasn't true and that he loved her back with the same passion that she held for him.

What if... what if he doesn't love me?

"Here's what you aught do. Next time he comes into this room, and tries to slide his manliness between your thighs, why don't you ask him how many women he's been with? Ask their names. Oh I'm sure he'll remember a few." Dunamis heard the sick tone of her innerself again, reminding her of the suggestion it gave her.

No... Please stop...

"And when he can't remember, deny him. He will show his true colors then. Maybe not that night, but if he continues to be refused what he truly desires, he will grow bored and find a new plaything."

In a weak voice, the goddess looked Glaukos straight in the eye, she asked him. "Do... Do you love me?," she questioned him softly, pleading that he does.

Moments with her had been precious, stolen moments of passion, moments of joy amidst his recovery from his mental breakdown. He took his mind off the horrors of that evening, of the shame of knowing that he had led women to their deaths... at the hands of their own side. It haunted him, even days after.

It was no secret that she was in love with him, Glaukos had seen the signs a hundred times, and often chose to ignore them. He had yet to find a woman his equal - for he would reserve such affections for her, and her alone. This was the first time that his young lover had dared broach the subject of love, however, and Glaukos could see the strife such a question had caused. He wished she could take those words back, for both their sakes.

"Dunamis," he began, looking at her intently with those eyes so dark. "I-"

He sat up, and as he did so felt a vicious spike of pain lance through his skull, as if someone had driven a spear through his head and out the back. The god gasped, and collapsed back onto the bed with a thud as he gritted his teeth. Even the dim light in the room was too much, and he closed his eyes against the brightness.

"It hurts, Dunamis, why does it hurt so?"

Dunamis frowned as Glaukos fell back onto the mattress in a shock of pain. She hated seeing him in so much pain as she ran her fingers through his hair. "Shhh. It'll be alright my dear," she whispered as she put the haunting thoughts aside for just that one moment. "Just lay back and relax." The girl gave a kiss on top of his forehead before climbing out of bed. She brushed the smokey quartz colored dress that he gave her during her as she motioned to leave the room. "I'm going to get more medicine for you," she cooed at Glaukos before disappearing into the hallway.

''Mm... Clumsy woman, have you forgotten that we are immortal beings. The misery of disease doesn't affect me... Tsh... This acting is quite troublesome but I will enjoy her until she can't bear it anymore.''

Hsiss made a kind of open mouth hiss akin to a sigh but maleficent before turning to face Inasaria, "What if this is the tesst? Putting all of us so close to a village of Mortalss? Perhaps we are all to part ways and go at our own into Anara or more likely we are to interact with this ssettlement. Is are restraint being tested?" Hsiss rested her head on her coil somberly, "I intended to come here, to visit the tunnels of the Dwarves. They seemed an ideal place to begin my studiess."

A fluttering of wings was heard in the distance, which made everybody turn around, the twins and Neoma who was gathering herbs included. A bright light seemed to shine from the sky itself and Aether lifted her head, floating higher in the air to get a closer look. A handsome swan came from in between the clouds and flew toward the gathered juniors. Aether recognized the animals at once. "Lord Indra." she said excitedly, the swan soundlessly turned into an extremely handsome dark skinned man with thick black hair, mustache and beard. He was dressed in a fine blue tunic embroidered with clouds and thunder, and his flowing silvery blue cloak seemed to be spun out of the sky itself. Looking up he flashed the ethereal goddess a grin.
"Good job Aether, nothing escapes you does it?" he said jovially before turning to the group. "Ah, so we're all here." he said, striding toward them. "As you all are aware, you have all been selected for this test to see if you are worthy of becoming senior gods and goddesses and joining the big leagues, as it were. You're all probably wondering why you are all so close to a human village, this is your first assignment. You see, we deities are nothing without those that believe in us, but we don't wish to frighten them so badly either. Now your task is to get as many people in this village to believe in you as you possibly can, let them see how many miracles the gods work, make a difference with your abilities. Oh, and you have to do all of this without revealing your true identities of course, in a human form. The one who has the most humans gets a special prize, however this will take time. You have twelve days and then meet me back here, good day." he said before disappearing again.

Hsiss let another of her hissing sighs as her coiled tail began to shrink and arms emerge from her sides. "I'm the goddess of sserpentss not man." she said carrying on the somberness of her previous statement. The change became more rapid as she became a black haired young human woman. Her eyes where intitially a yellowish tent before settling on a green. A green eyed black haired young Human woman in a white dress. She fidgeted and frowned at her feet- "So unbecoming of me." She said without the typical hiss so natural to her. She ran her fingers through her hair awkwardly before pulling it back so it ran along her back. She looked her self over and noticing that she had only three fingers corrected the error. "This little 'finger' is troubling- what purpose does it serve it seems so needlesss." She held her tongue at bay for letting the 's' carry so but she was annoyed.
