I really do see how this can work, but how do we stabilize eastern Gael?

Through increased collaboration with nations to keep them included.

As we've seen in other parts of the region, just a few advanced nations which work together can stabilise areas.

Eastern Gael doesn't quite have enough of that yet.

Collaboration is the best way to stabilize an area, but with Eastern Gael's turbulent history, this could be a harder shell to crack

Yeah, I don't think there's been an agreement before like this though. If we get a foundation, we may be able to lessen the turbulence.

Since this could possibly be a new type of agreement, a foundation will be at least a little more difficult than your average alliance. But what kind of foundation will have to be put together in order to achieve the ultimate goal is the real question.

Yeah, at its early stage I think this should be a place for conversations around Eastern Gael, including the Shared History that Ostehaar and Verdon are working on.

Agreed. An early stage is the most important, because it shapes the alliance. Eastern Gael is our target, and to shape this alliance, we must focus on it.

ARTICLE 6
The Council’s Representatives are to agree on an international trade policy which supports Eastern Gael nations. No member state is to abstain from this.

How would you define an international trade policy that supports Eastern Gael nations?

As in we would agree on something which would favour businesses trading with neighbours rather than other nations in the region.

For example,
If I (Ainslie) were to trade with Insura, it should be cheaper than trading with nations outside of East Gael (in relation to trade, tarrif and taxes)

Think of it as a really weak free trade agreement. Just an agreement which would make it cheaper to trade with one another.

Alright, sorry. Been neglecting this.

What about Me and Ostehaar's history is confusing for you?

Also, what is the point of establishing the court? I'm really confused as to what that's for.

It's not the confusion, but rather creating a forum and place to talk about it wider and not making it just a Verdon-Ostehaar
The court isn't 100% necessary but it is for EGCFC nations which don't follow human rights.

Heaps of nations leaving and joining Eastern Gael. It's to try and cement nations into Eastern Gael and let them spread some roots so they can stay.

oooooh, okay we have a problem.
You're creating an In-Character legislation and mentioning an Out-of-Character problem. You should strike out the line starting "WORRIED".

The other problems I have a later on in Article 2 and 3. I'm not sure I'm keen on having a court system that rules on whether or not my government is "representing moderate values." That's incredibly vague, and depending on the kind of moderateness you're talking about, my gov. might disagree. There's a lot of sovereignty being given up by the members of this agreement. I'd strike Article and 2 and 3 completely. I know they're there for human rights purposes, but I'll point out that there are no current multi-government human rights agreements in action in the Western Isles, even though we've been trying for two years; they just don't seem to work and people don't agree.

You don't need the exception in Article 9. I would change it to: "A majority vote by the Council is required for any modifications of this document or to remove a Council member." This then allows for rogue nations to be ejected preserving a main function of the court.

After these changes, I'd be willing to sign. I will, however, point out that this agreement is incredibly similar to the Coalition of Free Nations, which I would recommend anyone to join as well.

1. Yes, that's probably a better way -> rule out the court and favour democracy
2. I'll strike out Article 2,3 and the WORRIED line...
3. Didn't realise it is similar to the COFN agreement, but i guess this is region specific to build some depth in Eastern Gael, so it's a bit unique to it.
