Modern Gothia is located in the new world. Inhabited by tribals, Monkes, Fremenilians etc, the ancestors of Gothians, a pretty much all male bunch, sail over. Allying with Navache tribes, the Gozechnyans and Hayer intermarried with them and exterminate the Monke/Gorilla Sapiens all the way down and up the peninsulas. They level the Monke temples and melt literally every pagan artifact plaque etc they founds. They allied with the Fremenilians who prevent any of the plaques from escaping and eat the straggling Monkes. Over time a nearby peninsula would be colonized by the Aquitinians, who were the most liberal of the central new world nations. After many many years, the central nations would have bene broken up. In a time of chaos, Theodoric Siculo waged the unification wars, in which he unified Gothia into the SCE, which contained the provinces of Hayk, Gozechnya, Zhonggou, Dai Nam, Aquitinia, and the islands of Kodai Nihon.

Red is the SCE lands, Cyan is allies, Sickly-Yellow is megaton, which is an irradiated hellhole.

Purple is roughly where the Gozechnyans came from.

Earth
Goths descend on the Romans of the East, but instead of being payed off/refusing the payment to attack the west, they continue ravaging the Balkan. They try to attack Constantinople but it is too strong. Eventually they merge with the Byzantines, bringing with them Crimea and parts of the black sea. Somewhere along the line this causes Phocas the fuck-ass to die BEFORE he can betray Maurice. This keeps the empire's money and stability, along with keeping Maurice and his family alive. This allows the empire to maintain power, however at the same time forces them to be less hostile with the Sassanids. This means that when the Muslims invade they are much less successful, only able to take southern territories in Egypt, Palestine, and the lower Sassanid Empire.-----

Humans arrive 20000 BC. The first civilizations in 1200 BC. Several kingdoms come and go. Demilusenkaratan Empire from the east invades and controls almost the entirety of Frostland at 900 AD. Bradburian "White" people trek across Demilusenkaratan Empire in 1300 AD, call themselves Tabolan. Fuse with the Nut people about 1500 AD. Bradburian empires colonize Frostland 1530AD. Tabolans mix with colonists to become Frostish about 1690 AD. Brittanic Empire wins Gallic Empire's colonies in Frostland in Seven Years' War (1721-1728). Colonies revolt against oppressive Brits beginning 1732. Other colonies join about 1740. Frostland is born 1751. Colonies win Revolutionary War in 1758. Frostland becomes proto-socialist dictatorship 1758. Many people die, dictatorship falls 1770. Frostland is Aristocracy for 94 years. Southerners engage in war with Azarotan Empire in the East 1824-1837 and win some land for Frostland. Southerners secede 1840 and Northerners put them down after six months. Aristocracy ends 1865, dictatorship for 4 years. Aristocrats overthrow dictatorship 1869, revive Aristocracy for 10 years. Aristocrats establish their own dictatorship 1879, lasting until 1911. Southerners secede again in 1905, go to war with Northerners, penetrate north in 1910s. Republicans take over the North in 1911, contain Southerners without going far south. Détente 1920s. Southerners go to war again 1930. They also go to war with many other countries. Socialists take over the North in 1940, win the war against Southerners in 1956. Socialist dictator dies 1969, his son succeeds and proceeds to destroy the country. He is overthrown 1973, and Democracy is tried again. Racist party gets elected in 1979, establishes Apartheid. Leader of racist party steps down from Presidency 1992, replaced by a moderate guy. He is assassinated in 2007 because he was still leader of racist party. Old guy replaces him, ends last outstanding vestiges of racial segregation in 2008. Becomes very corrupt, inflates economy. No direct elections are held. Cancels indirect election in 2019 because of coronavirus. People revolt immediately, begin civil war. Several cities destroyed, old guy loyalists pushed back to hinterland. Transitional Government established. Elections will be held June 21.

[North Keyton]

North Keyton separated from the United Districts of Keyton in 1981(along with the neighboring country of Avalon), and has since grown in power, while attempting to resolve conflicts between itself and Keyton. They succeeded in doing so in 1985, when the ongoing war with Keyton had ended, and borders were reopened. The country was originally a monarchy, but has had their citizens elect their leader since 1991.
North Keyton joined the Potato Union in the late 1980s, mostly as backup protection against Keyton(as the country is known for having a very small and weak miltary), but also for economic support.
The country is pretty new, so that's basically it for now :P

[New Agraya]

Before the 1700's New Agraya was largely a grouping of different tribes ruled as collectives by the Ieshans, though little information remains from this time. In 1715 foreign invaders arrived and established the feudal system, and eventually an absolute monarchy. In 1880 the Yarboro Royal Family gained power and began a full campaign of enslavement and seizure of land and property. Then finally in 1979 the King was deposed by his own Military General, Joel Doyana, who then declared himself emperor. Doyana continued the oppressive rule, taking massive cuts from farms and local production supplies. The former Kingdom was expanded and turned into a walled city for nobles and aristocrats.

In 1990 there was an influx of the Kemprei ethnic group into New Agraya, who were fleeing violence in the south. The Kemprei refugees found shelter in Ieshan villages, and brought with them both numbers and previously banned literature. In 1992 the first signs of revolt begun, with local militias fighting off the Emperor's men who attempted to seize their cut of crops and resources. In 1994 four different factions formed and allied to bring down the Empire. They were successful, and in 2001 The Killkesh People's Liberation Front became the main ruling force. In 2003 the Socialist State and New Agrayan Communist Party was founded, and we took our title as The People's Republic.

[Tangatarehua]

Humans arrived in Tangatarehua around 40,000 years ago, with the first primitive societies forming around 15,000 BC. In 500 BC the first Polynesians arrived and formed a series of "Potato Kingdoms" in the northern two islands. According to legend, they were guided to the land by Rehua, the god of the stars. In 270, according to legend, Tamahine a te Puanga (the grand-daughter of Puanga and thus great grand-daughter of Rehua) led the Ngati Puanga tribe to conquer all of the island of Marangawhenua making her the first Empress.

Over the next few centuries Ngati Puanga begin expanding their Empire and driving out the native inhabitants, forming a nation called "Tangatarehua". In 864 AD a new Empress ascends to the throne aged only 3 years old so the Toa (military) take direct control of the nation, forming a government in Tamaki under the control of the Rangatira (head of the military) with the Empress the nominal head of state.

The country is then governed under a strict feudal system for the next few centuries, punctuated by the occasional succession crisis, an expansion into the island of Rangiwhero and periods of restoration to direct rule by the Empress and then back to the Rangatira again. In 1402 Kaiwhakarite o te Raki becomes the new Rangatira and declares himself "Ariki" [Emperor] and attempts to claim higher authority than the Empress. This leads to a series of violent uprisings and causes the entire nation to descend into over a century of civil war, with various tribes claiming authority or attempting to form independent kingdoms of their own.

The nation is reunited in 1520, and the nation expands to control the entire island of Rangiwhero and northern Motumakariri by the 17th century. In 1690 the first contact with Europeans is made, which brings literal boatloads of new technology to Tangatarehua including guns, metal, western medicine and science.

In 1803 Europeans attempt to colonise Tangatarehua but are met by a surprisingly well-organised and well-equipped resistance, with Tangatarehua having already formed a western-style military and navy - even managing to sink several gunboats. The European colonisers are chased to the northern Ikame nga Maramara islands where they are killed and eaten as part of the tradition of ritual cannibalism known as Kaitangata. In 1835 the government enacts a western-style constitution and other reforms and buoyed by the defeat of their would-be colonisers, decide to create an empire of their own. They conquer the island of Motumakariri and force the island's native "Yuri" people to assimilate into Rehuan society.

The late 19th century and early 20th century sees often violent conflict between Christians and those wishing to preserve the traditional beliefs of Tikanga Wairua. In 1921 all Christians are expelled from Tangatarehua (or sentenced to Kaitangata) while the country slowly slides into militarism, ultra-nationalism and fascism. In 1953 it attempts to create a Pan-Polynesian Empire but gives up in 1957 after facing stiff western-backed defiance. In 1973 the country again goes to war to defend an ally from western invasion and in the process commits atrocities and war crimes so brutal that it is forced to take the blame for the entire war.

The nation surrenders in 1979 and is occupied by western powers for three years during which time it renounces the right to declare war and adopts a democratic and pacifistic constitution. In 1982 the first free and fair democratic elections are held and the next few decades see the nation undergo rapid industrialisation, economic growth and westernisation.

[The Confederate States of America]

On September 4th, 1865 the US had their capital taken over by Confederate forces, they did no damage to it but showed their power through a peaceful end to the war. Abe Lincoln decided to end the war in a stalemate and let the south secede from the union and make its own nation. On that day President Jefferson Davis signed an article of declaration and cemented the Confederacy as its own country. A peace treaty was signed to show no hard feelings to the north and that trade shall commence through both nations. Jefferson and Davis shook hands and wished the best to each other's nation that they lead. Soon after Cuba was bought and used for plantations, a year later Haiti and The Bahamas were purchased as territories along with The Dominican Republic and five years later Turks and Caicos were as well. This greatly increased various crops and land. During the early 1890s Sonora, and Chihuahua were also brought into the fold. During the first World War, they remained isolated and didn't join the fight, unlike the United States. World War 2 was different and The Confederacy joined the United States to fight Germany. During the Cold War years, both the United States and the Confederacy were weary of the USSR. US and Confederate spies would often help each other with the red menace and operations for both their homelands. They helped with the USSR collapsing in 2015 due to mass uprisings fueled by illegal social media access helped by US and Confederate spies. Both countries have a peaceful existence and no bad blood is had between them.

[Skarmia]

Skarmia existed as a land of nomadic pastoralists and hunters for millennia until the arriving Kingdoms of Beleroskov began to exert more and more influence over the nation. Eventually, when Beleroskov became an Empire, the Southwestern Krai was formed, comprising the 4 Oblasci that now make up the nation of Skarmia. When Beleroskov began fighting against communist revolutionaries, the tribal hierarchy de facto took control as the Zalsoker Autonomy, though there were threats of revolution there too until Renalas-Gha initiated the "Red March of Peace", unifying traditionalist tribal leaders and socialists in a peaceful march on Zalsoker in 1905. From then and for the rest of the 20th Century, Skarmia was socialist. Neighbouring Ossotia declared independence, and Skarmia fought in a war to return them to the fold, but failed. Skarmia's road infrastructure to Beleroskov became useless, and the nation suffered as a result. As such, in 1999, when various other members of the UCSS (United Communist and Socialist States) declared independence, Skarmia did also, becoming the Federation of Skarmia. With business from abroad, Skarmia developed quickly and began to prosper financially, though Skarmia's democracy has always been fairly weak...

Archipelago settled.

Natives establish monarchy.

Trade links with outside world make them wealthy.

Things go relatively peacefully up until the French arrive.

At first French are content to trade.

Then they force the Knifepoint Treaties.

Things go not well.

Archipelago is officially christened the Kingdom of Agencourt.

So our nation used to be a big boi in the ancient to early medieval era until we f*cking died and got conquered for 400 years then colonialism happened we became a dominion we fought some guys won our independence in 1916 as a republic then we kinda had a “peaceful” return to monarchy before that got overthrown by a republic then we fought a few wars with some guys and became a libertarian and socialist republic after overthrowing yet another probably more stable republic

[Orlesian States]

Traders from an outside nation came to Artois and formed Orlesia once they grew weary of their lifestyle. They started to gain power once outsiders from the nation of Ravenstern arrived, they tried to form a military position, as a way to expand their interests across the seas, but the newly founded Orlesian nation raided their lines, and defeated them. Soon, no one would be able to resist Orlesian power. They conquered the tribes of the land, and formed The Orlesian Empire. However, this did not last, as the long line of Emperor's had lavish, ludicrous lifestyles. Decades of mismanagement, nonsensical spending, and corruption made the citizens weary, and a hero from a Orlesian noble family arose, Alistair Torwin. He denounced the Emperor and his government, and the populace revolted in what is now referred to as 'The Final Revolution'. In which Orlesian Citizens along with their 'great hero' fought against the Emperor and the Imperial Army for four years. The revolutionaries won, and the Commonwealth of Orlesian States was formed, but at great cost. Alistair was not a hero anymore, for the cynical four years of war he went through, forever changed him. Those years of war would forever change Orlesia and it's future.

Brazil, now Brasilia, doesn't like Britain's parental abuse and leaves, with loyalists fleeing to South Africa

Brasilia, now Scytharum, beats up Spain and takes some of its lands.

Paraguay the ankle biter tries to beat up Scytharum but gets partially anchlussed instead.

Scytharum refines a sweet-looking navy and army.

Scytharum joins Germany's club and tags along with them for World War-level shenanigans.

Scytharum becomes the center of Civil Rights in the world, though this doesn't entirely say much since their competitors are mostly authoritarian Empires.

- Islands in the North Atlantic are discovered by Europeans in the late 15th century

- These islands are claimed for England in the late 16th century

- The first permanent settlement on the islands is established in the 1620s and islands become known as the Province of Davids' Land

- Province of Davids' Land is renamed to the Province of Terrapacis in the late 17th century

- Terrapacis remains loyal to the Crown during the American Revolution and becomes part of British North America

- Terrapacis becomes a Crown colony in 1795 and is granted a constitution in 1826

- Responsible government is granted to the colony in 1849

- Confederation with Canada is rejected in the 1860s

- The Province of Terrapacis becomes the Dominion of Terrapacis in 1907. Even though Terrapacis is now more or less independent from the UK, the growing labour movement argues that the nation will not be fully independent from the UK until they sever all remaining colonial ties with the UK.

- Terrapacis enters WWI by virtue of the UK declaring war on Germany. This splits the labour movement in two, despite both sides being opposed to Terrapacisian involvement (communists were opposed to any involvement in a war between imperialist and capitalist powers whereas the anarchists and socialists believed that the decision to join a war should belong to Terrapacis itself)

- The labour movement is suppressed during WWI because of the Wartime Act 1914, which allowed the government to arrest and imprison any and all persons involved in the anti-war movement or otherwise deliberately interfered with Terrapacisian involvement in the conflict until at least the end of all hostilities and the signing of a final peace treaty

- The Wartime Act 1914 is amended following the Russian Revolution to allow for the arrest and imprisonment of any persons involved in radical left-wing politics such as communism and anarchism until such date that the act ceases to be enforced. This drives almost the entire labour movement underground, with the exception of the Terrapacisian Labour Party.

- A general uprising and strike led by the labour movement with a goal to bring the economy to a halt and force the government to meet its demands begins in December 1920. This uprising soon erupts into violence, starting the Terrapacisian Civil War.

- During the course of the civil war, Terrapacis would be split into three factions: the Loyalists (who were loyal to the existing government of the Dominion of Terrapacis), the Communists (who were inspired by the success of the Bolsheviks in Russia and supported the establishment of a highly centralized socialist state with them leading as a vanguard party), and the Anarchists and Socialists (who supported a decentralized society based on the writings of Peter Kropotkin and the ideals of anarcho-communism and libertarian socialism)

- The Terrapacisian Civil War lasts from December 1920 until April 1926 and ends with the victory of the Anarchist and Socialist Forces over the Loyalists and the Communists and the establishment of a Provisional Government of Terrapacis.

- Faced with a state on the verge of total collapse and a people on the verge of starvation (the civil war had decimated crops all across Terrapacis), food aid and assistance with rebuilding are requested from Canada, the United States, and the United Kingdom.

- At the same time, the Provisional Government was working towards the transition from a provisional government to a permanent one with the drafting of a new constitution.

- A vote is held in November 1926 regarding the adoption of the proposed constitution for the new country. All citizens aged 21 or older are allowed to vote and the at least four of the six provinces have to vote in favour (60% or more) in order for it to be adopted. All six provinces vote in favour of its adoption.

- The proposed constitution goes into force on 11 April 1927, establishing the Socialist Federation of Terrapacis. On the same date, the Terrapacis Act 1927 goes into effect in the United Kingdom which asserts that Terrapacis had ceased to be a part of His Majesty's Dominions when the new constitution went into effect and is no longer in the Commonwealth.

- Terrapacis declares war on Nazi Germany, Fascist Italy, and Imperial Japan following a referendum and the consensus of all provinces in 1942, entering WWII on the side of the Allies

- Terrapacis becomes a founding member of the UN in 1945.

- Despite being a socialist state, Terrapacis is invited to join NATO, which the Terrapacisian government rejects, instead intending to stay neutral during a potential conflict between the West and the East.

- The end of the Cold War and the ending of the one-party hegemonies in Eastern Europe is welcomed, but Terrapacis criticizes the new governments for turning towards capitalism over libertarian socialism

[Dyrrhonian Isles]

The Dyrrhonian Isles is a settler country in Atlantian Oceania explored and populated by Diarcesians. From the start, it is created as a constituent country (or dieresis) of the Monarchy Diarcesian.

[United Neo-Hollerith]

- The then separate island nations of Holle and Eern founded in the 16th century by Polynesian and Japonic settlers respectively

- Holle became occupied by Welsh marcher lords in 1836, while Eern fell under Qing Chinese control in 1860

- Between 1885 and 1889, the Japonic natives of Eern fought off the Chinese colonists using their superior numbers in retaliation for their policy of aggressive resource extraction, leading to many Eernians fleeing for Holle.

- In 1893, the Welsh marcher lords of Holle expanded their influence into Eern with approval from Queen Victoria, forming the British Pacific Straits

- The Pacific War ravaged much of the country's infrastructure between 1941 and 1945, leading to a period of expensive infrastructure repair during the 1950's

- The vast expenditure eventually collapsed the economy of the colonial administration in New Tolladine, forcing the British Pacific Straits (Now United Hollerith) into independence in 1962

- The newly independent nation of United Hollerith was governed by the first Chief Executive, Eisuke Kurakawa, who would lead the country through an era marked by racial disparity and economic reform, until the current governing Direct Action party (DIRACT) took power in 1971

- National TV personality, Eleanore Heanor, co-founder of DIRACT, won the 1971 election, and temporarily led Hollerith until May 1972

- In May 1972, DIRACT's other co-founder, businesswoman Meredith Leigh, was bought in to replace Eleanore Heanor as Chief Executive, and as of 1976, Leigh remains Chief Executive

Town is taken by forest and left alone for centuries. Given to the deposed Queen of Nova Tero as farmland. A city is built on the farmland. Nova Universo negotiates for independence.

[Oesteuropa]

In 800, Charlemagne was crowned Holy Roman Emperor. It remained a title until 962 when Otto I was crowned with it and created the Holy Roman Empire. It remained the most powerful force in Europe until the 12th century when its influence began to dwindle. Over the next 500 years the Holy Roman Empire remained rather strong but was marred by internal problems, until the destruction of the Thirty Years' War gave the Emperor enough justification to integrate the Empire. Fifty years later, the Habsburgs inherited the Kingdom of France and 100 years later the two crowns were integrated as the Holy Roman Empire of Oesteuropa. When Emperor Dominic-Maria ascended to the throne in 1850 he permanently altered Oesteuropa's future, reigning for 86 years and achieving victories over the Turks & Eurasians while guiding an empire covering almost all of continental Europe through the industrial revolution and the technological advances of the early 20th century. Today, Oesteuropa is one of the world's preeminent powers with a population of over 265 million people.
