BLITZKRIEG: A World After the Blitz

This world was forged by fire and blood. Many died in the Second Great War; some call it the Blitz. The world was forever changed by the events which transpired during this horrible war. The year was 1941. The Third Reich's banner was quickly spanning across Europe, while the Empire of Japan was spreading its influence throughout the Pacific. Everything changed with the Boston Blitz; when Nazi submarines suddenly appeared off shore of Boston, and unleashed their tanks and Nazi troops onto American soil. The Boston Blitz lasted for all of a week before being repelled; it was at this point that British spies had taken their opportunity to reveal to the US government the atrocities they discovered that the Nazis were committing - the Holocaust. With this catalyst, the United States of America unleashed its fury upon the Third Reich; the Empire of Japan's high command, and Emperor, knew that they would surely be destroyed if they continued to fight alongside the Axis.
So, instead, they offered their full support to the Allies, and condemned the Third Reich, claiming ignorance to the atrocities the Nazis were committing (which, for the most part, was true). Imperial Japan's betrayal of Nazi Germany ensured the full might of the American military and navy could be felt by German forces. In 1943, an experimental weapon - dubbed the 'atom bomb' was unleashed by the United States Military on President Roosevelt's orders. Two atom bombs were dropped upon Germany; one in Bremen, and one in Hamburg. After seeing the devastating effects of this weapon, the German People were crying out for the Nazi regime to be destroyed. A revolution took place, in favor of a new Imperial Germany being formed; a new monarchist resurgence took place, and a new Kaiser was put into power after the Fall of Berlin to the Monarchists; wherein Hitler was executed for crimes against the German people. The new Kaiser of Imperial Germany surrendered to the Allies, and, seeing an opportunity, the Soviets moved in to occupy former Nazi holdings in Eastern Europe. France and the Netherlands were liberated. But Imperial Germany remained, containing all 'German' lands.
The world after the end of the Blitz was one unforeseen; the Empire of Japan dominated east Asia, having taken advantage of the alliances made during the war. It took what it could, and negotiated for the rest after the Blitz was over. Because western China was left to rot without support of a strong central government, the Soviets took it for easy pickings; taking all but southwestern China and Tibet. From the ashes of the old world before the Blitz came a new order; a new world. In this world, there were now three powers vying for influence - the Empire of Japan, the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, and the United States of America. Imperial Japan and the US are still aligned, but with extreme tensions due to strong Japanese imperialism and because Imperial Japan's taking and negotiating to take many Pacific and east Asian territories has led to it being the last colonial power, technically speaking. They are more aligned now, out of necessity, against the fear and power of communism and the Soviet war machine.
The US and many other Western nations ensured Germany would never be able to raise arms against them again; but permitted them to build military bases and keep strong amounts of military on their eastern border, to deter invasion by the Soviets as a wall of sorts. Fear of a Third Great War and Communism is rampant throughout the West; even Imperial Japan fears communism, for it could remove the power of the Empire and the Emperor. The world has many tensions and there is little about these tensions that are unknown to the masses. This world was born through blood and fire, born through the Blitz. Where do you stand here? Where do you lay your arms? These questions could determine your fate...

Hello, and welcome to BLITZKRIEG: A World After the Blitz. This is an alt-history RP idea I've had floating around in my head for a while now, and so, here we are. Most European nations are reserved/pre-made, but do not be discouraged - there are plenty of nations that need to be made throughout the globe, even still. You can even apply as a Commonwealth nation from the UK (but will be answerable to the UK player to some degree); or even as a Vassal under the Japanese Empire (vassal states are usually small / rare). This RP takes place about 10 years after the end of the 'Second Great War', so, it's around 1952. The POD for 'Fixed' nations which are not reserved is around 1919, while the POD for unfixed nations can be variable but dependent upon the detail of an app.
