Zackaroth declares WAR on Orostan

After months of tense actions and tough talks, Zackaroth and Orostan have gone to war with each other. The final straw was the destruction of the Grand Mosque in Zackaroth by a plane hijacked by Orostain hackers. No longer content on attacking Orostan in the shadows, Zackaroth was the first to declare war and Orostan followed suit, launching a cyber attack upon Zackaroth. The cyber attack was aimed at bringing down government websites, a move it had used against other nations and a move Zackaroth was ready for. Though some sites did go down, it only took an hour to bring them back up and fix the damage. Zackaroth responded in kind, having its own cyber division attack the Orostan government and bring down websites, as well as try to expose many secret emails and various embarrassing situations Orostan politicians may have gotten themselves in.

The High Leader of Zackaroth also warned Orostan citizens to "get out now and prepare for the worst. Your government has brought this upon you and though it saddens him people may die in the conflict, it is now unavoidable. Retribution is coming"

Syria, Zackaroth controlled

The Zackarothian Mediterranean fleet waited in the Port of Tartus, with soldiers having completely taken over the town. For now Zackaroth didn't have the means to transport a massive army to Orostan and thus had to use what they had, which in terms of a navy, was not alot. They needed help and where going to get it from a friend to help transport. But before an invasion...the country itself had to be softened up.

Despite Zackroth's far off location on almost the other side of the world, the threat it posed was still viewed as serious. Anti ship and SAM missiles were quietly moved to the coasts of Orostan, and a program was in progress to grow the Orostani cyber military arm. Already having good training in the art of breaking firewalls, Orostani teams were preparing for their ultimate target. Zackrothian Military data banks. Inside it would be recordings and logs of suspected war crimes committed by Zackroth. Defensive teams were busy coding new firewalls to protect Orostani systems, including a software designed to scan incoming emails for malware and spyware. The train incident was not taken lightly. Emails containing carefully camoflauged malware had already been sent to Zackrothian military contractors, with the aim of doing a test run of sorts on less well protected systems than Zackrothian Military Command.

Orostan would find it harder and harder to get into Zackarothian systems, to the point where Zackarothian hackers where redirecting Orostanian hackers to fake websites and giving them fake websites with useless information. As both countries would hack each other, they would improve systems to prevent leaks of vital information and anything Orostan was trying to get was safely tucked away in areas where they couldn't access. The cyberwar had turned cold but the real one was about to heat up.

Zackaroth missle silos

All across the nation, missile silos where opening up, readying to fire. Over the course of the year, Zackaroth had been experimenting with ICBMS. While growing its nuclear stockpile in secret, it had amassed around 300 missiles capable of striking anywhere on earth. But in this day and age, nuclear missles where useless, unless one wanted to end the world. And as crazy as Zackaroth could be at times, it did not want to end the world. But it didn't mean it wouldn't pretend too.

The experiments Zackaroth had conducted where not on nuclear ICBMS but conventional. This would give them a first strike opportunity anywhere in the world but at a heavy cost. Zackaroth was only able to build 6 of the weapons. The time, manpower and needs of such a missile where very expensive and its own forays into a Hypersonic bomber and missiles where quickly making these 6 missiles obsolete. So it was time to use them or lose them. They had just enough to strike where they where needed.

Of course Zackaroth could decimate six of Orostans cities, but that would be expected and the backlash would be fierce. No, it was time to do this properly. Each missile was tipped with a therombaric weapons, similar to the ones that decimated Syria. They would destroy any target aimed against if it struck. And so they where fired all 6 missiles, each missile aimed at different point in Orostan. Instead of cities however, it appeared they where coming directly at its ports and military bases.

Base Aerea d Natal, Santa Cruz Air force Base(with the Aerea do Galeao also within range),Aerea de Florianopolis, Aerea de Canoas, and finally Aerea de Santa Maria. The 6th missile itself, headed right towards Rio Grande. The missles would strike within an hour. Knowing that Orostan would most likely try to hack into them to stop, they purposely hardened their cyber defenses, using the best software in Zackaroth. However, they made the one traveling to Rio Grande much easier to hack then the rest, giving the Orostans hackers just enough to disable it and have it self destruct but also hinder them enough to let the other missiles strike

Somewhere In the Amazon Jungle - Missile Base

As the flares of Zackrothian missiles reached Orostani satellites, which in turn sent a message to Orostani high command, where the message was quickly relayed to the Orostani military communications network with appropriate orders. Rows of missile silos, formerly for nuclear missiles, burried in the ground began to open. Orostan had been designing and constructing powerful conventional weapons in the wake of its failed nuclear ambitions, and mounting them on rockets. Targeting coordinates, having been put into the missiles as soon as war had been declared, were finally put to use. Doors opened from the ground, brushing away the canopy of trees that usually covered the silos. Inside the bunker below the surface, two men turned their keys, and the rocket engines on every missile burst to life, sending a portion of the Orostani missile arsenal to the sky. Ten rockets streaked on a sub orbital trajectory, and civillians in villages, towns, and cities across Orostan looked up, to see the white exhaust trails of rockets. These were much slower than their Zackrothian rivals, but still packed a similar punch. Orostani hackers struggled to get into the systems of the rockets, failing to divert all but one heading for Rio Grande. The military bases targeted were given the evacuation order as soon as the Zackrothian missiles trajectories were confirmed. Transport aircraft got off the runways of the Santa Cruz and Aerea de Canoas bases, but the other bases were destroyed along with most of the people in them, with several fighters and transports able to take off in time. Meanwhile, Orostani missiles streaked towards the Al Jouf, Al Kharj, Al Kharj East, Taif, Tabuk, and King Faisal air bases. The other missiles meanwhile targeted the Zackrothian military headquarters, and missile factories.

Only moments after the Orostani ICBM's have been launched, the NAF NORAD systems detected them. Several pilots were scrambling, after given the orders to shoot down the ICBMs. Were they nuclear? Had Orostan been lying about closing down its nuclear program? They didn't know. Fairly soon, a few Interceptors would be in the air, moving towards the ICBM's. Immediately, they'd deploy their HELLADS weapons, and fired them upon the ICBM's as soon as they got in range. If/when struck, the ICBM's would very likely go crashing down, lost in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.

Orostani ICBMs - Atlantic Ocean

A NAF interceptor missile struck an Orostani missile, making it tumble out of control. Automated systems on the ICBMs would begin to launch countermeasures upon the first interceptor missile impact, attempting to divert the NAF interceptor Missiles. Meanwhile at Orostani missile command, a message was hastily sent on maximum priority channels to the NAF airbase in Puerto Rio. Three Missiles would fall into the sea, one being knocked off course by a close impact, altering its trajectory from the standard ICBM to a one similar to a satellite launch by exploding above it. The missiles diverted were en route to the Al Jouf, Al Kharj, Al Kharj East, and Taif airbases in Zackaroth.

Orostani Missile Submarine - Outside of the Strait of Gibraltar

The black shape of a wide and log Submarine designed to carry Nuclear Missiles rose from the sea in international waters, in sight range of several ships from other nations. The two attack submarine escorts of the missile submarine stayed underwater. The missile submarines doors began shifting out of their places now, revealing the tips of SLBMs. The Orostani gear was clearly visible on the side of the conning tower on the submarine. The missiles of the submarine began to launch, two at a time. White trails of smoke ascended from the submarine as the missiles set course for Zackrothian naval and air bases.

The High Leader watched a screen as satellites showed the Orostan ICBMs blink out one by one. The UMU had come through. But where the missles nuclear? Doubtful but one never knew with Orostan. "Sir, we got more incoming!" said one of the techs. They where attacking from the the Straight. It was a pretty brave move, but the surfacing of Orostan ships gave them away and gave Zackaroth a little more time to respond. Luckily these missles where smaller and much used to what Zackaroth has planned to deal with. " Activate Project LAEX" the High Leader said and stared at the screen"

In orbit over Zackaroth and all across the country

A satellite from above targeted the Orostan's missiles as they crossed the Mediterranean. The satellite was not the weapon however. Sending data instantaneously to the military bases below. Several heavy trucks with Interceptor Missiles bolted on activated. Firing automatically at the command, they fired at the enemy projectiles! Explosions ripped over Zackaroth as missile exploded upon missile, causing bright lights and booms to fill the night air. Some bases where not so lucky. The test system did not either respond correctly or at all. Three of Zackaroth's bases had been hit but with the amount of missiles fired at them and the damage prevented, the LAEX system was successful in its first real combat run. But both Orostan and Zackaroth had struck each other. Now it was time for round two.

On the southern tip of Argentina

Three Zackarothian subs laid in wait, checking for new orders every 30 minutes. At last they finally came. Far out of reach of any Orostan vessel, the submarines had been the first Zackarothian forces to arrive in the region and where kept well hidden thanks to their allies in Iberia. Armed with missiles similar ballistic ones, these weapons had a different purpose. Once the order was given, three missiles fired right at Orostan. The missiles themselves would look as if Zackaroth had attacked Orostan again, closer by but had made a serious miscalculation and sent them careening off into the uninhabited areas of Orostan's Amazon Jungles. Again though, this was a ruse as the missiles came down, they broke apart, dropping small bomblets, that at a certain height would begin a small explosion, spraying an aerosol substance all over the place. In truth these was a new weapon, designed specifically for Orostan. A hyper active strain of tree fungi from Orostan itself. In the wild, the fungi would infect a tree and consume it over months or even years, spreading slowly. But this genetically modified version would eat at the tree faster, while also breeding faster at the same time. It posed no threats to humans but if left unchecked the diseases kill off entire swaths of the rain forest within months and within a year it could destabilize the entire ecosystem. The strain was extremely resistant to pesticides. Zackaroth itself had created an effective method of killing the fungus, not in-case of accidental exposure but more as a bargaining chip as it was entirely possible the fungus could mutate fast enough to become resistant to that.

Amazon Jungle - Small Village

The populace of a small village heard a deafening boom as a Zackrothian missile came down right in the middle of it. The Village's police force, a mere 12 people, soon arrived by walking. A grayish blue fungus appeared around the missile crash sites, emerging from small bomblets. Soon, more official authorities arrived via helicopter. The fungus, upon a quick investigation, was shown to be a variant of a tree eating fungus. Preliminary analysis of the trees in which the fungus had taken route revealed that the fungus grew much too fast. Samples were taken to a lab in São Paulo for study.

Just Outside Zackrothian Naval Patrol Perimeter

After a heated debate in the Orostani assembly, and communications with the Zackrothian ambassador, the peace offer had been rejected, with President Anderson himself calling it "Bullsh*t". Right now, several Orostani attack submarines lurked under water in the Arabian Sea. Each was armed with 5 long range cruise missiles, 15 total missiles among them. Five missiles would be launched at Governmental buildings in the Zackrothian Capitol, including the residence of the Zackrothian dictator. The rest were directed at probable Zackrothian missile bases and the locations of anti-missile trucks, seen by satellite. Each missile would fly as low to the ground as possible, keeping under military radar systems. While underwater, the submarines began to launch their missiles.

At the same time, a Panamanian registered ship, supposedly delivering a cargo of food and some passengers, docked at a port in Yemen. 14 men, with valid passports and all required identification and visas, disembarked. 12 of which were supposed to be from Panama, and 12 from Argentina. Unbeknownst to the Zackrothians, they were special forces sent to kill their leader. However, 12 men did not come from Orostan. Instead, they came from an ally, who'd much prefer to remain hidden. The men took a train to the Zackrothian Capitol, where they would live in a pre-purchased apartment until they were given the order.

Arabian Sea

As soon as the missiles fired, interceptors caught them over the ocean, filling the sky with bright orange and red explosions. Though Orostan had kept outside of Zackaroth's naval patrol, their attack submarines where easily detected from the overprotective and over zealous navy that would patrol right along the border. On the Zackarothian destroyers was a massive laser sight, aimed to target missiles and projectiles thrown at the or near it, tag it and shoot it down. This was an older but still effective naval model of the LAEX system, one of the first to come of Frrench, Israeli and Zackarothian design. The aircraft carrier in the region quickly scrambled planes to spot the submarines and direct Zackaroth's own attack subs and navy's to destroy or chase off the vessels.

Yemen
The Special forces had made a costly error. Panama was under control of Puertonello, a country Zackaroth was at war with. As soon as the shipped docked it was quarantined and put under intense surveillance, and told to leave Zackaroth's port immediately or the ship would be removed by force. They never got a chance to get on a train.

Tip of Argentina
The submarines waited for their next order, still having 5 missiles between the three of them still loaded. All at once the crew heard another transmission. " Forgive us for what we do, but we do what must be done." That was the signal that talks had failed and it was time to end the war. The missiles where prepared and once again fired deep into the Amazon Rainforest. The 5 missiles again broke apart in mid, air air spreading bomblets which in turn began spreading another weaponized bioweapon. Swine and Pig Flu. The viruses would quickly infect both the numerous wild boars that lived in the Amazon and the hundreds bird types. Both flues could and would jump to human hosts if possible but that was not the true danger. Onetheir own the flues would cause a epidemic sure but nothing too costly. But flu viruses had a terrifying trait. Two different viruses could breed together and form a new, even deadlier flu. And with the bombs fired in such close promexity and the ability of the targeted animals to fly or travel far across the rain forest, combined with the fact that previous deforestation and the current risk of dying tree from the fungus, these animals would be pushed closer to human civilization creating a recipe for disaster among not only Orostan but the entirety of South America.

[Empire of the United Kingdom]

A British destroyer accompanied by 3 frigates entered the Gibraltan Strait from Gibraltar. It's task is to protect the rock territory. Although Britain plans on staying neutral, the submarines were detected on coastal surveillance systems covering Gibraltar, and mid-strait motion detection and surveillance buoys, and were deemed a threat to the Empire.

The ships broadcast a 24/7 radio warning:
"You are entering Imperial British coastal waters, leave or face termination. The Government of Orostan's vessels have not requested clearance.

People of the Falklands have been forced into martial law by surrounding forces. Houses are being swapped for underground bunkers, and soldiers are busy preparing submarines leaving from Stanley. The submarines are loaded with one missile each, and are equipped with TROHPY technology as well as other systems."

[Puertollano]

Essentially declaring war on the whole of South America, through the means of biological warfare and the very potential damage to destroy massive quantities of the Amazon rainforest, Puertollano has taken action in response. Medical teams flew to Orostan today, all in their hazmat suits to help Orostani authorities clear the damage and help identify the ramifications on the Arabian behalf. Puertollano has labelled this attack as an attack on Puertollano, an attack on the world environment and an attack global peace. Hence, Puertollano has also taken militaristic action against Zackaroth, ballistic missile attached submarines (ironically some French bought), which had all been dispatched since the outbreak of the war, positioned themselves correctly. Momentarily the submarines would all surface and then the missiles were fired. 3 flew into heavy infanstructure located on the off-shore Zackaroth owned island of Socotra, to cripple the region. Other ballistic missiles would be fired, a few targeted at Al Anad military airbase (which also happens to be the largest in the Yemeni region), and even more at the coastal city of Aned. The missiles heading towards Aned would only hit docks or ports, large gatherings of the Zackarothian armed forces and important infanstructure. After this was completed, the submarines would quickly retreat.

Due to Zackaroth's Aggression against Orostan, The Republic of Roackland has declared war on Zackaroth. Missiles with high explosive non nuclear warheads have launched from silos and bombers have taken off from airbases escorted by F/A-60s to bomb key strategic targets in Zackaroth such as airbases and military headquarters.

[New Metropolitan France]

France prepares to enter the War

In the cities and towns of French Guiana there is a sense of panic as news articles confirming that the war in South America continues to escalate are published. The population has marched on the large Navy Port which serves as the HQ of the Republic's military presence in Guiana, while at the same time in Paris crowds have formed outside the 'Hexagon' demanding action. Action is now being taken, by order of the highest authorities. The large French Army division garrisoned in the Guianan territory is being deployed to the Guiana-Orostan border, equipped with special biohazard gear as well as their regular combat supplies. French officials and DGSE agents monitoring Orostan transmissions are reporting that both viruses infecting humans and animals as well as the Fungus infecting the Amazon are beginning to spread, with three French nationals already being hospitalized, and this news was quickly forwarded to Paris. Zackaroth was a valued French ally, but their apparent failure to recognize the possible threat to the Sixth Republic could no longer be tolerated. As such, France has delivered to NAF a suggested peace treaty that it is hoped they will support and share with the belligerent nations. Should this last effort of diplomacy fail, France will have no choice but to class the Zackaroth-created virus and fungus as attacks against French Guiana, and thus the Sixth Republic, as part of South America. Already, travel and import bans have been placed on all South American countries by France due to quarantine preparations, as well as a travel ban on Zackaroth itself being drafted (but not yet implemented) as a sign of France's displeasure. France is becoming a Super Power scorned.

The Persian Prime Minister has released a statement on the crisis:
"Zakaroth has launched a biological weapons attack, they have shown aggression, aggression and expansionism. NMF and Puertollano are already taking action to preserve peace. I can say Persia will as well. The Social Democratic Union has legislated a temporary travel ban to Zakaroth, to protest their hubris. Shock regiments are ready to defend the border, our airbases are at the ready. But we will not strike unless Zakaroth attacks us or continues to defy the will of the global community. We will support any NMF attempt for peace."
He has indeed done all this, and the People's Navy is also ready to clear the Persian Gulf. Zakaroth is being widely condemned by most, Persia has joined them.

Karl Krall Talks to Zackaroth Ambassador



Karl Krall recently talked to the Zackaroth ambassador to Calindelo, urging them to surrender to prevent further deaths and catastrophes.

He also urged the Orostani government stop the war via speech yesterday.

He stated that Calindelo is not against nor supporting each side of the war. And wishes to stay out of it.

Orostan Asks For French Aid

Noting the biohazard gear used by the French, the Orostani Containment Organization, dedicated to containing diseases and [REDACTED]. Containment teams patrol the Rainforest around the sites of infection. Any animals in the area seen attempting to leave are shot, and have their corpses moved back into the Quarantine areas. Nobody, and nothing, is allowed to leave the area. Because of the lack of a cure, Orostani authorities have determined that entire towns in the area need to be quarantined. Several cases of the Zackrothian Flu Bioweapon, named Zackrothian Flu by Medical Personnel, have reached major cities. Currently, those infected are being moved into clean rooms in Hospitals for treatment. Several people, now known to have contracted Zackrothian flu, have been recalled back to Orostan after boarding flights to several countries, including:

All civilian aircraft leaving Orostan have been grounded, and preparations are being made to seal all land borders. Containment teams in the Amazon also have orders to kill anyone who attempts to leave the Quarantine zones, and place large tarps over trees infected with the fungus, now named Zackrothian Tree Fungus. Record reports of hate crimes against Arabs, specifically Muslim Arabs have come in. Police forces are doing their best to protect these individuals, but cannot stop every incident. Five Mosques were burned down today alone.

Off the Coast of Zackaroth

Most of the Orostani submarine force sat under the waves, ready for a raid. They were equipped with Cruise missiles instead of longer range SLBMs this time. Aiming for Zackrothian Oil Fields this time, they aimed to damage the Zackrothian economy.. Launching from under water this time, cruise missiles jumped into the sky at once, with missile launches continuing for several minutes, as 70 Cruiser missiles left their tubes.

The National Embargo Act

The liberty of Irish South Africans is threatened by the callous and irresponsible deployment of biological weapons by the nation of Zackaroth, as such it has cut off all vital and non-vital trade with the Gulf State, refusing to sell cheap minerals and refusing to buy cheap oil, opting instead to subsidize further use of reserves in Angola. At the same time a 24% negative tariff (basically a discount) is offered to those nations who are either at war with Zackaroth or already taking actions against the rogue state. This extends to all vital trade, such as minerals like chrome and steel, but also as well to the wide range of South African weapons systems, such as the Rooikat AFV.



In the event of potential hostile military incursions along the Northern Border, the Northern Corp has been mobilized, with 80,000 service men along the Akksum border in case of the outbreak of hostilities. The Northern Corp is predominantly composed of Armoured Car divisions, perfect for the rough terrain of the Irish-South African border. At the same time three squadrons of Warrior class patrol crafts have been assigned to the East coast of the South African nation on top of pre-existing naval patrols.
