YN's theology?

Postby Nioya » Mon Nov 14, 2016 6:13 pm

What is your nation's theology? what is YN's national church or national religion? What are your people's religious beliefs? What minority religious groups are there? What are your nation's religious particularities?

The Church of Nioya is the national church of my nation. They see it as defining their values and ideas. It's high church, technically protestant but stands out among protestants. It defines it's "catholicity" by having a connection to the historic church through apostolic succession and a connection to the jewish tradition. Nioyans tend to have a great interest in Aquinas and classical theism. They're also quite interested in mysticism and even mysticism from other religions.

The national religion of Malizistan is Islam. Though, sects are not really mentioned, so everyone is just 'Muslim' (no Sunni, Shia, etc). Malizistanis believe in Islam in almost the same way it was brought onto their ancestors, but it is mixed with traditional Maliz beliefs. The main minority religious group in Malizistan are the Christians, if I remember correctly, it was standing at 90% Muslim, 10% Christian. Most of the Christians are of Portuguese descent or of mixed Maliz and Portuguese descent. People of both religions are treated equally.

The state religion of the Kovrukan Empire is New Age Catholicism. No other religions or cults are allowed. The Empire is completely led by our religious values; every aspect, from our economy to our military, has our religion as its main pillar.

The doctrine of the New Age Catholicism comes directly from Roman Catholicism. The First Eivan had the certainty that a stronger Catholicism and a better understanding of the Gospel were the answer to the "Age of Corruption" that was desolating the world during his times (hence "New Age"). While the Age of Corruption has ended with the foundation of the Empire and the conquest of most of Europe, corruption itself keeps existing, but our faith is our shield against it. Our mission is to remain strong until our death, to reject the temptations of the Enemy and to exterminate corruption from every corner of the world by any means necessary.
All posts are made by the Kovrukan Ministry of External Inteligence. The Emperor will interact with other nations through the aforementioned organism.

Factbooks with publishable information are under writing process.

In the League of the Six Free Nations, all churches are tolerated (and controlled by cartel infiltrators), but the official (ir)religion of La Cosa Fedora is Euphoric Bronyism. We euphoric not from the blessings of a false god, but because of our own intelligence. It is through our intelligence that we follow the teachings of Celestia and Luna.

Our unholy book is Serfdom in Equestria: An Expose on how the Liberal Agenda is Slowly Eroding Freedom and our church is headed by the holy Patriarch (obviously a cartel member appointed by Le Broni Fedori).

There is also a small church of Jediism among some GentleSirs of Honor, but the core values are the same. As the great Aalewis once said, "Just to be clear, I’m not a professional ‘quote maker’. I’m just an atheist teenager who greatly values his intelligence and scientific fact over any silly fiction book written 3,500 years ago. This being said, I am open to any and all criticism. ‘In this moment, I am euphoric. Not because of any phony god’s blessing. But because, I am enlightened by my intelligence.’""

Among normies, Christianity is the main religion, although there are many Jews and Buddhists. Confucionism, Taoism, and Hinduism are small in number. Islam, Scientology, etc exist as well, we have one building for each in each of our provincial capitals.

However, normie religion is heavily monitored, infiltrated, and controlled.
Ask us anything!

Join MENINFORM today! Or that's not your style, issue a formal condemnation!

Our state, the League of the Six Free Peoples, is actually controlled by a cartel of neckbeards known as La Cosa Fedora. Members of the cartel are known as Honorable Gentlesirs. Citizens who are not members are known as normies.

Our armed forces are armies of the radicalized romanceless.

Do you fear us yet? If not, have some anti-neckbeard propaganda!

The established church of Great Nortend is the Cardican Church of Nortend, which is known as the Church in Hambria in Hoebrideland. The Church is a Protestant high church, emphasising tradition, ritual, priestly authority and the sacraments. The Church maintains apostolic succession from the Catholic Church as well as a modified form of the Latin rite.

Around 90 percent of people in Great Nortend say they are a Cardican Christian, and around 70 percent of the population attend church masses at least once a month, which is quite a high percentage. All persons born are automatically considered a Cardican Christian. Around 94 percent of the population, who are Christian of one denomination or another, hold a Church of Nortend baptisimal certificate, which is the official register of a birth containing the names and signatures of the father, mother and vicar as well as the date and the child's Christian name, sex and place of christening as well as place of birth if different. The other 6 percent hold a secular birth registry issued by a doctor.

The official religion of Equestria is Orthodox Harmonism, which is for the most part a personality cult surrounding our ruler, Princess Celestia. According to Harmonist teachings, Celestia the Sun-Raiser is regarded as a divine ruler, being not only the temporal leader of Equestria but the spiritual leader of all ponies everywhere.

The headquarters of the Orthodox Harmonist church are located in the Royal Castle in Canterlot, where the heads of the church meet to discuss the spiritual meanings of the Princess's latest pronouncements and promulgate them to the worldwide churches. Most nations with a significant population of ponies will have a Orthodox Harmonist bishop, either appointed by the church or selected by the nation's leadership depending on that nation's relations with Equestria.

Besides the Orthodox church, there are other Harmonist churches in other lands with varying degrees of heterodoxy (ranging from Schismatic to Heretical) depending on their official stance toward the Princess, her proclaimed divinity and authority. None of these churches have any legal standing in Equestria, however.

Baptist is the largest single religion in Appalachia, comprising about 24% of the population. However, the majority of Baptist churches in Appalachia are 'independent' or 'free will' and not governed by a single authority, so there are wide variations in their doctrine with some being very conservative and others being more liberal, depending on location and the make-up of their congregations. About 5% of the population belongs to churches that simply label themselves 'Christian' or 'Independent,' and those churches similarly have large differences in doctrine.

About 55% of the population is some form of Protestant, 13% is Catholic, and about 6% are some other form of Christian which includes faiths like Orthodoxy, Mormonism, and Seventh-Day Adventists.

In total, 83% of the population adheres to some sort of faith. Although, as mentioned, most Appalachians are Christian, there are minority populations of every major world religion. The government considers religious freedom to be sacrosanct, and according to opinion polling the vast majority of Appalachians (just over 80%), even many those who consider themselves religiously conservative, believe that there should be a separation of church and state.
Note: This account is no longer in regular use. I now post as Appalachia

New Birgland's state religion is the Pandenominational Church of New Birgland. The Church is merely a body consisting of members from many Christian denominations. It does not control its member churches; rather, it functions as a space for dialogue between denominations and tries to further the goal of creating "one holy and catholic church" as stated in the Nicene Creed. Most funding towards the Church is given to its member churches for charity purposes only, since anything else would violate the separation of church and state (as if the existence of a state church didn't already do so). The Church itself promotes social justice, as it believes that doing good works will lead people to Jesus. The Church and its members is free to do anything with donations as it pleases; most of the donated money goes towards foreign missions, with very little actually going towards the member churches.

There are major ideological differences within the Church, particularly between Catholic and Protestant denominations and denominations considered orthodox versus denominations such as Mormonism. These ideological differences are great enough that the Church cannot be considered to have a single theology, per se, but the member denominations consider their similarities to be enough to agree on one thing: there is one God, and Jesus is His son. There is a conspiracy theory among some members of the Church that the leadership is planning to remove all nontrinitarian denominations, on the grounds that they are not truly Christian. This allegation has been denied by the leadership, though at least one member of the leadership has been very public about his dislike of nontrinitarianism.

Thenganytras is officially secular, though a large portion of the populace are religious.

The largest thing that could be considered a national religion is Orthodox Dualicism, which is adhered to by 58% of the population.

After that, Christianity and Islam come next, with 12% and 10% respectively.

Somewhat surprisingly, there is a small but vocal Jewish community in Thenganytras, with 3% of the population. Other religions make up 5% of the population.

Irreligious groups make up 12% of the population.
We don't follow NS stats. Factbooks are superior.

The Holy Queendom of Brellach is nigh-fully adherent to the Church of Her Divine Glory. In summary, they believe that their goddess - Her Divine Glory - represents everything in nature, including themselves, and that she desires people to live as naturally, and as in harmony with nature, as possible. They believe that Her Divine Glory favours Brellach as "Her Favoured Lands" and the people who live there as "Her Favoured Children", and so it is believed that she has sent them an 'avatar' to represent her and live among them in the form of the Divine Queen. Because of this, Brellachi spirituality plays an enormous role in every aspect of their society; the Priesthood of Her Divine Glory - responsible for administrating canon and selecting future Divine Queens - holds significant responsibilities and powers, and the Divine Queen herself, while bound by considerable spiritual limitations, is thought to speak on behalf of their goddess and commands almost unlimited support as a result. These nature-orientated beliefs have had the additional impact of nearly completely precluding Brellach's participation in the industrial revolution, leaving it somewhat primitive by the standards of many.

One of the peculiarities to result from their belief system is that a majority of Brellachi (around 60%) are members of nomadic tribes, who eschew modern conveniences and materialism in order that they might live off the land, as naturally as possible. Rather than being considered a nuisance, these tribals are welcomed, as they are thought to be the most devout of all Brellachi. The existence of these tribes has brought about a series of 'divine' laws meant to protect them from interference, most notably The Compact, which established the modern state of Brellach after centuries of conflict.

The West Indies is a predominantly Catholic nation but is very much secular and people are proud of that. 52% of the population are Catholic and 78.5% are Christians as a whole (including Catholics). It's a very tolerant and diverse country and religions respect each other and those of no faith (who comprise 14% of the population). Most religious people are socially progressive and liberation theology and Christian socialism and liberalism are prominent.

Our country is not a Theocracy but the official religion is Christianity and our laws have a lot of religious backing to them also our head of state Chancellor Greene ends every speech with "God bless you all" also certain forms of blaspheme are illegal. Atheism isn't illegal but you're a social outcast if you are an Atheist and we have no laws regarding hate crimes against certain groups of people including Atheists and school teachers, police and other government workers are allowed to discriminate and verbally abuse Atheists.

The Couronnois Federation is legally without a religious identity. The two surviving noble houses of note have some religious association; members of the House of Sabaneyev are expected to practice Orthodox Christianity, while the House of Sleeman theoretically has a responsibility to carry on a somewhat eccentric neopagan faith drawn up by its founder, R. Xiang Sleeman. In practice, both houses are fairly liberal about it.
