Arrrrgh, thanks matey!

I've also gotten back into Amaranthe. They are incredible. Such a futuristic sound. I can sing the parts for Jake/Nils and Elize. Tried the growl parts years ago but annihilated my vocal cords for the day haha.

Fleshgod Apocalypse - The Violation

Gotta love it how guitars and bass just drone in the background while drums and symphonic elements are on the top.

I just love how much energy and power Metallica had in their early days (P.S. By Early Days i am meaning from Kill Em All to ...And Justice For All), it just makes for a very good thrash metal song, and one heck of a headbanger.

Ritchie Blackmoore really is a tool. I was listening to Sirius XM and they were talking about that Dio documentary from last year. Apparently he refused to let them use any Dio era Rainbow songs for the thing. Like cripes dude, whatever he did to annoy you, he's been dead for over a decade. Get the fuck over it.

After picking up three albums and the debut EP of Bloodbath this year, I must confess that I am rather fond of said Swedish death metal band. These days Bloodbath is also the side band of Nick Holmes, better known as the vocalist of British doom metal stalwarts Paradise Lost. It just works, you know. It works amazingly well, even.

Very late reply, but there's some cool stuff here, thanks for sharing.

My most-listened album of 2023 was Kalmah's. Just some top-tier melodic death metal with various traces of progressive metal, black metal, and folk metal at times. Judging by your list, you might like!

I was actually thinking about seeing them on this tour too when they hit up North Carolina later in the month. It'd be a midweek day, 1.5 hours away, so I'm not sure yet, but it's tempting... they seem like they'd put on a crazy live show.

The alternate official name is Tír na nÓg. Elves, leprechauns, dragons, and a bunch of other fictional creatures are real. The nation name is technically "Adharcáilí," (pronounced "ay-er-KOH-li") with accents over the third A and second I. However, Nationstates doesn't allow accents in nation names, so that's why I don't have them in the nation name. If you would like to refer to Adharcáilí correctly though, use the accents.

Judas Priest still has it. You can definitely hear Rob straining a bit to hit those Halford high notes at times, but this is a solid ass album. Richie Faulkner brought it on this one. I confess I've shit-talked his guitar playing in the past, but he laid down some kickass solos this album.

Standouts on this one:
The title track
"Devil In Disguise"
"Panic Attack"
"Giants In The Sky"
"As God Is My Witness"
"Serpent And The King"

Overall a solid 8/10 album in my opinion.

Halford's singing is incredible for a 72 year old man. I enjoyed album a lot, I think it's their best since Painkiller. Highlight tracks for me were title track, Panic Attack, As God Is My Witness, Crown of Horns, Gates of Hell and Giants in the Sky.
