Sort of in deep trouble. They lost their main city, as you mentioned, and now lack cohesiveness and spirit. Not yet completely destroyed, though.

That's sort of what I figured. At this point I'd work with them so we could get a crab-bucket strategy going.

Kind of. But now were are ICly busy with other stuff to think San Javier as of importance (it was due to perceived fears of Atnaian neo-imperialism which a thing of the past now).

Mind if I start putting out feelers to the communists in the East then?

Well, up to you.

I am sure Atnaia-sensei would approve.

I figure he's down for anything that stirs the pot.
Maybe the AN should be negotiating with Atnaia's crowd too at this point. There hasn't been much interaction so far and there could be something there.

I might still have the AN contact the communists, but considering that they aren't really attached to a nation right now I don't think it would really add anything when I'm already setting up villages and smaller militias to join the AN, and that can fulfill the same role plot-wise.
Instead I think I'm going to focus on the spread of Ticking Flu in San Javier. I figure it can lead to some more chaos, especially if it picks up in the Eastern cities controlled by you guys and the ECSJ

That could be interesting. It would also add "flavor" to the already existing humanitarian crisis due to the battles in and around Santa Ana.

By the way, I'm sorry again for my relative absence from the story right now - I have a lot to finish this week IRL. I have some ideas for when I post again, but I'll see what I'll eventually do when I get to it. In the meantime you can assume that my folks are still working with the paramilitaries in their territories, training them, smuggling arms, collecting intelligence on the area, and helping with anti-communist raids from time to time.

In general, I'm actually very pleased with the progress of this RP thus far. It might not be very active all the time, but it's going on steadily for some time now, and since this is an NPC, it's not a bad situation. Things aren't going so fast in real life as well. All in all - there's a lot of potential for fun here. :)

Update:
Image

The area to the west of the red line is what the AN controls, most of it is jungle and "control" of it amounts to occasional patrols and cadres maintaining tunnels near and between villages, except near the larger cities such as Pachualla, which is controlled by a more conventionally structured unit.
There are about 750 Corindi soldiers on the island right now, and at this point around 7000 AN Cruzados of varying levels of training and equipment, AN pilots are also being trained on COIN aircraft and a few GEV.

Covonant, would you like to have Comandante Uyananche and Col. Trujan meet with whoever is in charge of the remaining Covonantian garrison of Augustin once Gais is sworn in and sends them terms to negotiate for?

Right now Lt. Wilkis is oversea Covonantian operations there before they are all called back to Ailis base in Flores. Do you want to have the negotiations under Imperatus administration or wait until Gais is sworn in as its better. It wouldn't matter though as any agreement made Gais and the incoming Defense Minister will support as long as it sees troops leave the island for good.

What we could negotiate is removal of Covonantian troops and the beginning of Covonantian business expansion on the island.

If you wait until Gais is sworn in then he can try to publicize it as a policy win, so maybe do it after. That's really the only difference I can think of.

The communists have been defeated for the most part.

I'd be nice to have them back after their storyline ended after one real event though, and it's unrealistic to assume they all just vanished.

That actually puts them in a state of needing a supporting state... :P

If you like. At the current phase, they are scattered and dissolved in the jungle.

To everyone:
Atnaia is finalizing plans to pull out their troops, but will leave Roarke in the capital for the time being since talks were sort of left incomplete with the paramilitaries and the military junta, and he is still overseeing things a bit. I'd like for him to interact more with players outside my control.
