This is a thread for the diplomatic meeting of the Republic of Nakad and the Allied States of New Edom.

Image

To the Allied States of New Edom,

We, the Council of Nakad, formally invite your leaders to our nation to properly cement proposed diplomatic relations between our two nations.

Nakad has been isolated for far too long and we have suffered for it, our former leaders believed our tiny island nation could stand on its own. However, it takes two flints to make a fire. Nakad needs to be on the international radar once more. We hope that these talks will cement a continued future for both of our nations with stronger economic, diplomatic and military ties for the good of all.

We await your reply with anticipation.

Warm regards,
Carmen Tethys
Chief Councilwoman of Nakad.

Carmen Tethys stood on the balcony of her office in the Council Chambers looking out towards the sparkling blue ocean that was a common, but still breath taking sight on the Island of Nakad. It was a beautiful sunny morning. A cool, gentle breeze tossed about her auburn hair as she smiled contently, she had sent that letter several weeks ago. A loud ringing noise came from the office's intercom; she walked over to it and pressed the accept call button.

"Chief Councilwoman, our visitor's plane will be landing soon. I have your car waiting for you out the front."

"Thank you, James. I will be down shortly."

Today was the day.

Carmen stood on the airport tarmac as she awaited the arrival of her guests. There was quite a gathering of media present and security was very vigilant in keeping order. Like all Nakadians, Carmen stood there wearing nothing but the skin she was born in bar a pair of unbranded aviator style sunglasses to keep the sun out of her eyes. Clothing was in fact prohibited in their nation as the Nakadians had strong naturist values. Not even shoes were on her feet and though the sun was out in force, she didn't seem uncomfortable on the tarmac. As the plane landed and came to a stop, there was an sudden eruption of camera flashes and talking news reporters. And as the doors opened Carmen smiled brightly at the arrivals.

"Welcome to Nakad."

An executive transport had arrived in Nakad's airspace after clearing according to prearrangement. Once it had landed, the represenattive leaders disembarked to face whatever greeting awaited them.

The leading person was a woman with dark shoulder length hair, an oval face, wide friendly mouth and large dark imagnative eyes. Her skin was a smooth all over olive tan, a wide hipped strong body, bare feet and rather rough hands with shrot neat nails. she wore around her neck a necklace of beaten golden coins which symbolized New Edom's freedom from the Cornellian Empire. This was Queen Mara the First, one of the co-monarchs of New Edom. Following her were a tall lean athletic looking man with short hair in a neat military cut with a very dark olive tan and dark eyes. He had a cheerful handsome face and the look of a swimmer about him. He wore sandals. Also present was a middle aged man of medium height with slightly geyed dark hair and a body that was rather hairy and well made in a stocky manner. A short woman with a light biscuit tan and a narrow face framed by a dutch boy raven haircut with a pear shaped body with a shoulder bag stepped out as well, and finally there was a tall gloomy looking man with a hooked nose, raven hair, hooded eyes in a lean high cheek boned face, a neat lipped mouth and a rather scarred body. He was painted blue on one side of his body and white on the other side. A very buxom young woman with a voluptuous figure and light brown short hair in a bob also carried a shoulder bag and walked the leash of a small black Pommeranian. Apart from some who wore sandals, all were unclothed.

While others (servants and guards) accompanied the party, they were not among any main negoatiators.

Information given to the government of Nakad indicated that the first person with Queen Mara was prince Enoch Tubal-Cain, the Royal Master of Offices who ran the Royal Household but also acted as the liaison between the monarchy and the Council of Ministers. The middle aged greying man was Hosidius Geta, the Minister of Foreign Affairs. The woman with the dutch boy haircut was Elizbeth Corbuvlo, the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs. The blue and white painted man was General Augrim, the Chief of Army Staff. The young woman with the shoulder bag was Countess Lavinia Nabal, a lady-in-waiting.

Carmen was by no means unattractive. She was tall, about 5'8", athletically built with an all over tan and strong facial features with striking blue eyes. And even though they were both naked, a belief system that was said to equalise people. She couldn't help feel that she fell short compared to facing royalty, especially the queen whom she slowly approached. She pushed her sunglasses up onto on her head and bowed low, before standing back up to face Queen Mara. Carmen smiled politely.

"Your Highness, thank you for coming all this way to visit our small country to meet with us. I apologise the rest of the council is not here at present, they will be at the talks though. I trust your flight was comfortable?"

Carmen would also extend her personal greetings to the other gathered dignitaries, showing only the utmost respect. Walking slowing (thus giving the press more ample time to take photos) with the queen and making small talk, they would make their way to a group of black sedans with tinted windows. She kindly opens the door for Mara.

"These will take you to the agreed upon accommodations. The talks will begin in about three hours at the Council Chambers."

Mara broke into a very friendly smile. "It's such a pleasure to meet you, Chief Councilwoman. This is the first meeting i have officially had with someone from a nation that shares some of our ideals about the lifestyle of fvreedom from clothing, and I am glad to be here!" Up close, Mara was not really perfect--she was one of those people who were more atractive in face because of her liveliness and charm, somehow her imperfections even gaining beauty from them. Her belly and bosom bore the signs of recent childbirth, and Carmen may have been briefed by her staff that Mara had recently given birth to Crown Prince Josias, an eight pound baby boy.

"I regret that my husband could not be with us, but we have many delicate issues requiring his attention," Mara went on. "Allow me to present my companions--Master of the Royal Household Prince Enoch Tubal-Cain, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mr. Hosidius Geta, Chief of Army Staff General Augrim, and my lady in waiting, Countess lavinia nabal"

These bowed with great courtesy to the Chief Councilwoman. Then poses for photographs were done, and then they began to move on.

"Thank you for the accomodations," Mara said warmly. "You are most kind. I will greatly look forward to the talks."

"As do I, your highness", replied Carmen as she walked along side Mara. "Like you said, nations who believe in the freedom of being unclothed are rare indeed. It would be silly to pass up opportunities for diplomatic ties."

They were still a fair way from the vehicles and so Carmen decided to switch the topic to small talk. "And how is your son, young Josias? Doing well I hope? I guess at his age you certainly don't have to worry about him getting into any mischief." Queen Mara would be have been informed that Carmen herself does not have any children and is also unmarried.

"Have you also had a chance to met with Ambassador Allard and his family? I've been told that things are going well and that Traci is going to be starting school there as well."

"And the chance of another vacation spot where you dont' have to worry about a bathing suit!" laughed Mara. "Though I have worn one of course when traveling or being visited by foreigners--we are not as strict as you. I think we should be. Too many of our own people adopt foreign ways, wearing suits and ties, shorts, and so on, when God clearly made us in a beautiful natural state. And when I think of the evils that such things usher in...pornography, prostitution, sex trafficking...I fear for my country. That is part of why I am here actually."

"He is," said Mara, her expression softening. "Unfortunately I could not nurse him and I miss him already, but he's so little right now that being away a few days won't hurt things. My family are looking after him. Mostly he just eats and sleeps right now." She was a bit relieved that Carmen had lightened the conversation.

"Have you also had a chance to met with Ambassador Allard and his family? I've been told that things are going well and that Traci is going to be starting school there as well."

"It sounds like you know them personally, or am I wrong?" asked Mara with a faint smile. "Yes I did, they sem like lovely people, and I envy her, starting school, starting life and her choices, I can imagine it will be a challenge but I think she seems like a clever girl, I hope she will enjoy her classes and life in my country."

"And the chance of another vacation spot where you don't have to worry about a bathing suit!" laughed Mara.

Carmen chuckled. "This is why tourism is a main contributor to our economy, people looking to loose their tan lines and that we are well kept island nation."

"Though I have worn one of course when travelling or being visited by foreigners--we are not as strict as you.

A curious expression fell across Carmen's face, but she said nothing. She fears for her country and that's why she is here? What could our tiny nation be of use to her? Carmen wondered to herself. Though better to bring it up at the talks.

"It sounds like you know them personally, or am I wrong?" asked Mara with a faint smile. "Yes I did, they seem like lovely people, and I envy her, starting school, starting life and her choices, I can imagine it will be a challenge but I think she seems like a clever girl, I hope she will enjoy her classes and life in my country."

Carmen nodded. "Indeed, I do. Ambassador Allard was the former mayor of Nakad Central City, our capital. He was a great supporter during my running campaign and I came to know their family quite well. And I am sure Traci will do just fine, so long as she has a place to run and expend all that energy in her."

They would eventually return to the sedans and Carmen would watch with a smile as they took her honoured quests to their destination. The Nakadians were always thought to be a bunch of hippies living in slums to those who had never actually visited their shores, but in reality they were quite a modern and civilised society. From their windows, the dignitaries would be greeted with the sleek towers of Nakad Central City. The streets were spotless and the air crisp and clean. They would pass Nakad Island's main beach with pure white sand and crystal blue water. For Nakad, being a green country was important to them and they made full use of non-polluting energy sources. And of course, all around, the citizens of Nakad could be seen going about their day completely naked. Some stopped to wave at the cars or take pictures, they had never seen royalty in person before.

The cars would stop in front of their hotel which looked just as nice as the city itself, the press was present here as well along with security keeping things under control.

(If wish to include a section of your post of the dignitaries exploring the city in the three hours they have spare, please do if you like. You can have free control of the people with in the city. I'm going to skip ahead to the talks in the mean time.)

The Council Chambers building was certainly quite different than that of Nakad Central, it had obviously been built some time ago. It had obviously been continually refurbished over the decades, but it still kept a lot of it's original charm.* Though it certainly would have been a far cry from the palaces of New Edom. Inside the board room* the Edomite dignitaries would be greated by five people. one was Chief Councilwoman Carmen Tethys. The four others they would have been informed upon, they were the other members of the Nakad Council who represented their respected islands that made up the nation of Nakad. They were Claus Welder, councilman for the island of Fyre. Katerina Landon, councilwoman for the island of Wake. Dalton Thornton, councilman for the island of Ayr. Finally there was Yusuf Solak, councilman for the island of Eart. All of them were quite well tanned to various degrees and with athletic builds, excepting Yusuf Solak, who given his years had not had the opportunity for regular exercise anymore.

Claus Welder was a tall man at about 6'5" in his late forties, a stern look upon his face was always present with piercing grey eyes. His now greying hair was also balding away. Katerina Landon was a short woman at about 5'5" in her early forties. She had a kindly look with blue eyes and short blonde hair. Dalton Thornton was average sized man at about 5'10" and was extremely handsome. He looked to be in his late thirties with swept back brown hair and brown eyes. Lastly was Yusuf Solak, he had the look of middle eastern man in his sixties, it was difficult to determine his height as he was wheelchair bound. Like Claus, his hair was grey and to go with it a thick beard of grey color as well as intelligent brown eyes.

Carmen smiled pleasantly and gestured for all to sit down, the chairs had been covered with a sheet for obvious hygienic reasons.

"Welcome to the diplomatic talks between New Edom and Nakad. I would like to start off with a question if I may your majesty? You said that you had great concerns for your country which is what brought you here today. May I ask what this would have to do with us?"

Queen Mara waved and smiled at people if this was acceptable.

Hosidius Geta had remarked to Prince Enoch in their own language: "it is another one of these small nations which focus on service and tourism and have a kind of paradise. And no real enemies to speak of."

"Agreed, like Netoraria or Cacerta they are viewed as harmless and since they have no resources worth coveting...but I'll bet you the cost of living is expensive except for the cost of buying a good sit," said Prince Enoch with a chuckle in the same tongue. They admired the fancy buildings and cleanliness. By contrast, Fineberg, their own capital, was a combination of buildings from the 19th Century, what these pepole would probably call slums of shacks, a handful of more modern buildings, and modernized buildings from the twentieth century. It looked like what it was: a place that had violently struggled from the past when natural resources sudddenly skyrockted it into a regional power.

The Council Chambers building was certainly quite different than that of Nakad Central, it had obviously been built some time ago. It had obviously been continually refurbished over the decades, but it still kept a lot of it's original charm.* Though it certainly would have been a far cry from the palaces of New Edom. "Welcome to the diplomatic talks between New Edom and Nakad. I would like to start off with a question if I may your majesty? You said that you had great concerns for your country which is what brought you here today. May I ask what this would have to do with us?"

Mara, at being introduced, inclined her head politely to each dignitary and had a look of both friendliness and respect on her face. It was noted that her officials only sat after she had done so.

"This is a very pretty building, and I like that we have such a fine office meeeting room to meet in," Mara said . "My late Uncle Mark also liked to meet in such places. Well: New Edom is struggling with modernization right now. You see, we were until rather recently--as recently as the nineten sixties--a largely agrarian nation which a few modern industries, struggling with the rest of our Region racing past us. But then in the late sixties oil was struck. We have struggled ever since--with foreign corporations taking advantage, with domestic political movements fighting against that. Democritization has ben sturggling ever since the 80s, and resulted in a civil war--we call it three civil wars and three insurrections but really it was one big one with a few breaks." In spite of her possibly flippant words sadness was on her face. "This civil war really only ended last year--and is it truly over? Only time will tell.

"Nakedness has been holy in our country for many centuries, but when the Cornellians conquered our peole they brought clothing with them and often forced our people to be clothed. Well, it's like the forbidden fruit. Some in my country associate it with wealth, power, and being modern. And I believe that this is a terrible mistake. So I am hoping to show my people that holy Edenism can still work in the modern era, by showing how modern, successful nations can exist where people are naturally and morally bare. Sadly, your nation is oen of a few such. But I hope that we can through good relations demonstrate to the modernizers in my country tha there is another way than forcing everyone to a model of modesty that is focused on vanity rather than honesty."

She glanced at Geta.

"Yes," he said, "That is why our government has chosen to explore stronger trade, tourism and cultural exchange with your country. I suppose we have a few questions for you at the start.

"First--to what do you attribute your nation's economic success and stability?

"Second--what other international relations does your nation have--good or bad?

"And third, what is the basis of the strong morality that was presented to us in our opening relations? as you correctly noticed, several nations in the Edenist Alliance are...well, morally decadent, advocating slavery or sexual promiscuity linked with Edenism. What makes your nation stand apart?"

Carmen smiled as the Queen spoke of the building. There was a lot of history in this place, there would be even be old photos and carefully preserved documents around the room they were in. That smile slowly faded away though as Mara explained the situation in New Edom. She had been briefed on the issues, but she really did not know how bad it truly was. Three civil wars, no wonder they cannot seem to get off the ground. As Mara explained the history, she nodded along. It sounded vaguely similar to their own history.

"We certainly hope that we be an example to those of your country. As I understand you used to have a law called the Compulsory Nudity Act, which is now only enforced in certain circumstances. We have the same here, but this law was imposed during the 1960s and has carried on since that time. Before then, clothing was actually optional since 1901 after Native Nakadians and European rebels who shared the ideals of clothing with the natives took back the islands from British rule and gained their independence."

Councilman Solek grinned under his beard as he remembered those times when the nudity law was implemented, he spoke up.

"What a time it was. The hippie movement was the perfect era to enact such a law when society was much more open to those ideals. But of course that time is long gone. Clothing associated with wealth and power is all too common I'm afraid, but we believe it is necessary to keep people honest, friendly and healthy. While we have become a more capitalist society in modern times, compulsory nudity is a solid reminder to those in wealth that the richest man is the same as the poorest as human beings."

Councilwoman Landon also spoke up.

"It is also good that you, if you'll forgive the pun, expose such ideals when people are younger. If it is something they have grown up with their entire lives they are more likely to accept it, as the old saying goes. You can't teach an old dog new tricks." She looked to Solek, "No offense."

Solek raised a hand dismissively and chuckled. Landon would continue.

"We regularly educate children through to their teenage years about the values of nudism in our society and help them understand that their is nothing to be ashamed of when it comes to their bodies. Especially with teenagers as they go through that transition to adulthood."

Mara glanced at Geta.

Carmen decided to answer.

"Most of our economic success does come from the tourism industry, being an island nation does obviously make travel here highly desirable. But we do have success in other industries as well that all contribute towards our economy. Apart from tourism, our three biggest industries are Fishing, Agriculture and believe it or not, Mining. The island of Eart has a vast amount of minerals and ores that we use eco-friendly methods of extracting to obtain and trade. We don't burn fossil fuels here and so our coal is of no use to us.

"Secondly, we have quite good international relations with several other nations. We have opened embassies in Elykyellek, Caracasus and have entered trade negotiations with them. We are also apart of the Organisation of Forestian Island Nations or OFIN, which is an alliance of island nations within our region.

Before Carmen could answer the third question, Claus Welder spoke up before her. It was noted that he had a faint German-like accent.

"Your third question sparks an interesting discussion and one I have been meaning to bring up. Your Edenist Alliance, while noble in intentions has become quite skewed. Your highness speaks of wanting to encourage nakedness as being naturally and morally bare and speaks of evils of like pornograhpy, prostitution and so on. Yet in this Edenist Alliance, you actively allow countries in that proudly flaunt these evils that you despise. By associating with these countries like Netoraria and Cacerta and inviting them into this alliance that you proposed and created you are telling your citizens that those behaviours and topics are acceptable. It's no wonder you cannot get your citizens to see the value of your Edenism. Your most recent accepted applicant was called the Empire of Hootersville. Good grief. What kind of message are you sending to your people?"

Claus looked to each delegate with those fierce piercing eyes of his, they alone were enough to make anyone feel small. He sighed and closed his eyes, gripping at his chin in thought. Carmen seemed quite stunned at his sudden outburst, but he had a point. She looked back to Mara, to see what her reaction was.

"That is extremely interesting as a difference," said Foreign Minister Geta thoughtfully. "So in otherwords--your people can readily identify nudism with success and with patriotism, even, and so it is a unifying concept to your people"

General Augrim looked up keenly at this and seemed to have a question or response forming on his lips, but then waited as the Nakadians were continuing. He was quite intersted in education as a subject--he believed it was vital for the nation to preserve a vigorous sense of morality which ought to be taught in schools, in order to prepare citizens to defend it in future.

The Edomites noted this with interest. It raised further questions, but the Nakadians had begun to take the discussion farther and this meant that they had not only to listen but to ponder the next resonse.

Hosidius Geta pursed his lips; he was uncomfortable with this approach and with the man, who seemed rather zealous and challenging, and fought an urge to shift and avert his eyes. Mara felt a hot rush of shame go through her. This was never something far from her. A flood of memories of her own sinful past went through her thoughts. Prince Enoch glanced at her, sure he knew how such a speech would affect her. General Augrim stared back with a dark steady gaze. Countess Nabal sucked in her breath.

Queen Mara said quietly, "You are right, Councilman Welder. It is..." she bit her lip. "I understand how you must feel. Some of us feel the same way, others do not. My country has complications. I wish we had as simple and pure an approach as yours.

"Most nations in this world look on a naked lifestyle as unnatural, and do not realize that to wear clothing was artificially imposed. I guess I feel that you have to start somewhere. My approach has been to try to see the other nations as a beginning. We want to...negotiate with them, persuade them. At least theirs are nations where a person can arrive in the state they were born in right off the plane. And if we take just a hostile or prim attitude towards their...promiscuity and decadence...maybe they woudo just stay that way. Most of the nations we deal with are also not Christian. Some people, some leaders in my country, want us to only deal with Christians who follow the Creeds and sacraments as we do. Some want only nations that have our range of politics to be dealt with. So Mr. Welder, what would you have me do?" she smiled at him then. "Oh how I love your passion!"

Her own fellow countrymen glanced at her in surprise and curiousity.

"I am not being flattering alone! I see this as a chance for understanding. Tell me, imagine me as a child or a young adult in your country, what would you tell me about your country's values? If I were visiting Cacerta or Netoraria or Seeder, as a student or tourist, what would you instruct me to do?"

Councilman Thornton had been quiet up until this point. He looked towards the Edomites, his fingers steepled.

"Please forgive Councilman Welder. Fyre Nakadians aren't exactly known for their temperament."

Welder shot Thornton an angry glare, to which Thornton responded with a flash of his roguish grin. He turned his attention back to the Edomites.

"We would not be so arrogant as to tell another sovereign country on how to conduct their foreign affairs. This is just simply an observation on how things may look to an outsider and offering simple advice. You're absolutely right that you should explore what other nudist nations have to offer, but if put your hand to the flame you're going to be burned. Ask yourself. Do these countries truly represent your ideals of your Holy Edenism or Nudism in our terms? Or is it simply a means to make public sexual acts easier? But that is up to your or your delegates. We would say the exact same thing to our students, we all will figure out our own lot in life eventually."

He would turn to those who he had noticed had questions upon their lips and motioned for them to speak up. Mainly the General who seemed intrigued by Nakad's education.

Queen Mara smiled her gratitude for Thornton's intervention.

"So very kind" said Geta to Thornton. He noticed that Countess Nabal seemed a bit charmed by him, she lowered her gaze and toyed with her hair. He then said. "Naturally we must be wary in risking temptation towards the sinful lifestyles, but we also must have courage. As Christ said: be in the world, but not of it. I am sure that when your people are dealing with clothed peples that you must also risk temptations to leave your virtuous way of life and become caught up in vanity and in hiding the body on a regular basis. We'd be interested to know how you deal with that--especially since if you only have clothing manufactured for safety and health reasons that you probably would have to important suitable garments for travel to some diplomatic functions where they do not permit a person to be in their natural born state."

General Augrim said, "Yes, thank you Councilman. If your schools teach the healthy virtues of naturism from a young age, and I presume that your schools generally have sports and other activities done without clothing, may I ask why your government still maintains compulsory nudity?"

"Of course we still manufacture clothing on a limited basis and have small industry towards it," replied Carmen. "For those who need garments to protect themselves for occupational or health reasons. In that same vein, we have at least a set of suitable clothes for travel outside of our country. We do this as a courtesy towards those nations who require clothing and this is why we still have compulsory nudity in our nation, if we didn't, most would chose to remain clothed and thus creates a double standard. We consider it a courtesy as well if people would respect our laws regarding nudity. It is a two way street."

"If you are interested," said Councilwoman Landon. "Perhaps our Ministers of Education can collaborate on a joint education program regarding naturism in schools. Perhaps a camp or something where students can experience naturism from a religious and non-religious perspective. We would be happy to front the costs of travel to our nation. Perhaps you can incentivise students to participate with extra credit or something like that."

"We believe you were on the right track with your compulsory nudity act, but perhaps the timing was wrong to introduce it all at once. May hap ease people into it, like making public pools or beaches nude only. This is only a suggestion, of course," added Councilman Thorton. "We do sincerely wish an alliance with your nation and are not here to start pointing fingers."

(Apologies for the late reply, holiday season and all that.)

"Yes, we have similar policies," said Foreign Minister Geta. "The difference is this: while in your nation the naturist lifestyle is overwhelmingly preeminent, in New Edom it is a conflict, largely a cultural and religious one. The more one is in a province or city where Edenism is strongly accepted, the less likely you are to see clothed people. However in others lack of compulsory laws have created a wave of people who are defiantly, well, foreign in ways."

"If you are interested," said Councilwoman Landon. "Perhaps our Ministers of Education can collaborate on a joint education program regarding naturism in schools. "What a splendid idea," said Queen Mara warmly. "I would strongly recommend that. Perhaps we could select a school each, on recommendation of our appropriate ministries, and prepare a plan that way? Perhaps start small to do so? We have a wonderful program where students from a high school get to spend their final semester at a research farm, but we also have others that are simply recreational and focus on athletics and fun, with of course religious guidance. What do you have?"

The Edomites looked thoughtful and glanced at one another.

"This matter of Edenism has been done in a spirit of religious revival in New Edom, of course, and what you are suggesting is entirely different," said General Augrim. "You are proposing that it should be done as a matter of rational approach to a wise and carefully thought out lifestyle. That, Councilman, is part of why we approached your country, because to some of our people this thing of Edenism is not 'modern' enough and holds us back. Allow me to ask: what are your people taught about the wearing of clothing compared to the lack thereof? Are foreign films or television censored or disapproved of if they unnecessarily eroticize the bare body?"

"We do have similar things like that," said Landon. "And yes, starting off small would be the best course of action. The idea of something with athletics could open a solution. Maybe something along the lines of a competitive sports camp or something like where the two schools face off in various sports, swimming, running etc. Nudity would be required of course and as a suggestion we were thinking that you might chose a school where nudism isn't really the common place. A fun sporting program might be a little less intimidating and more engaging for those students."

Allow me to ask: what are your people taught about the wearing of clothing compared to the lack thereof? Are foreign films or television censored or disapproved of if they unnecessarily eroticize the bare body?"

The Chief Councilwoman spoke up.

"It is our belief that social naturism is open to individuals, couples and families who wish to lead a lifestyle in which we can experience nature and connect with our fellow human beings in our natural state.

Nudity is a state of being, no more no less. It is a condition of our bodies in the same way as being hungry, or tired, or being dressed. Nudity in and of itself has no intent. It is not immoral, suggestive, offensive or lewd. Each of us has a body which is pretty much the same as any other. Existing in an always clothed state only serves to create barriers between ourselves and the world around us.

When we shed our clothing, we let go of the personas and pretence that we carry with us in the clothed world. Nude, we are reduced to the bare essence of what we are, and human being pretty much the same as any other.

Without the facade of our clothing, other's perception of us must be based on our personality, spirit, and the way we interact with one another. Being nude socially requires one to open themselves to others in ways that the clothed world cannot. It takes courage, confidence, and trust to stand before another and have nothing to hide behind, to say "This is me as I am." To have these feelings validated by acceptance from another who has opened themselves to you in return allows us to connect in more meaningful ways.

Since we are able encounter each other as we truly are rather then as the perception we forward by our choice of clothing, we come to value others as a complete person, rather than an image, label, or stereotype. When nude we are all equals.

As naturists we strive to be non-judgemental of other's appearance. Through our encounters we learn while there are as many variations as there are people, all bodies are essentially the same, and that it is not what a person looks like, but who they are that is really interesting. Although making judgements is a natural process of our everyday lives, we put aside judgements in order to know the person.

As naturists we are accepting of each other. We all know the courage it takes to remove the protection of our clothing go nude in the presence of others. Respect for that courage combined with the open trust shared through nudity builds an almost instant camaraderie between naturists.

In the naturist mindset, our practice of social nudity is completely unrelated to our sexuality. Whereas nudity is a state, sex is an action or a behaviour. While it is true people are usually nude for sex, that doesn't mean that nudity always has to be sexual. We are also nude to bathe but that does not make bathing a sexual act. One can sleep, swim, exercise, eat, read, have a conversation, or do anything that people normally do, while nude. The condition of nudity does not make any of these activities sexual.

With this acceptance and lack of judgement we learn to accept our bodies as they are, because no one body is perfect but it is our body and a part of who we are."

The New Edomite ministers nodded with satisfaction about Landon's response. "I think that I will forward a memo to my counterparts in Education and Culture then," said Geta with a smack of his lips of appreciation. "We will initiate discussions right away if that is acceptable to the government of Nakad. Nothing likea little friendly competition."

They all listened quietly to the Chief Councilwoman's speech. Queen Mara nodded.

"I appreciate much of what you are saying. I agree with a great deal of it. I do believe, as do all good Edenists, that the human body is only potentially sexual, and that clothing contributes to anticipation in viewing it, which in turn fuels lusts.

"However we also believe that we should reflect how we were created--in the imag eof God--and that the human body is therefore His sacred temple as the scriptures decree..."

"Amen," murmured several of the Edomites present.

"So to some of our countrymen," Mara paused and smiled gently "I assure you I mean no offense in this--to some of our countrymen ythe view you just expressed would be highly suspicious; atheistic and science focused rather than religiously focused which many of our citizens believe is the only way to live. My subjects are not well traveled or educated in foreign beliefs necesarily, especially those who live in rural or remote regions of it. Yet at the end of the day we are agreed upon the main thing: the right of citizens to be in their natural state without fear of ill treatment or oppression." Mara got a bit emotional and dabbed at her eyes. "Excuse me. I'm sorry, I am a recent mother, at times I am..." she cleared her throat.

"Anyway, that is why I ask that your government keep an open mind. We are doing this for one another, I ask that you do as well for the other member states of the Edenist Alliance, and that you speak with them, visit their countries, learn more about them before pronouncing that you are sure. There is so much at stake, you see. You have done this for us, and your kindness is most appreciated." Mara said earnestly.

Geta said nothing; this was not part of the script, he looked down at his tablet and fiddled with it. Prince Enoch cleared his throat; Augrim smiled quietly but just watched to see what would happen.

Carmen's face softened, she did not expect this. While somewhat aware of the internal conflicts, the Queen's reaction gave way to just how bad it was. Carmen sat back in her chair a ponderous look now on her face. She looked briefly to her other council members who seemed to be thinking along the same lines. Except for Councilman Welder who's constant stern face rarely gave anything away. Carmen leaned forward.

"Perhaps we can re-review your invitation to the Edenist Alliance."

Carmen raised a hand before Welder could deliver another outburst.

"Solely for the purpose of defending our similar beliefs and that alone. If a country is being oppressed for having those ideals, we will make a stand on it. Either through military, resources or diplomatic aid. And perhaps we can better inform those who think we are naked savages. "

Mara was deeply moved by this. "Thank you, you really do understand! What I fear is that the majority in the world, who find the human body shameful or sexually enticing, will keep with their ways and mock ours, and so a lot of the evils of the world will persist.

"I am set to visit Netoraria after this," Mara continued, "And I will find that very different from this. Apart from what seems to be a focus on rationalism here, we could easily just be at home. Healthy lifestyles and clean living, it reminds me of many a meeting I have had at home." she sniffled a bit as she got over her earlier tearfulness. She nodded at Geta who said,

"I am also grateful for this expression of devotion. I hope we can and feel sure we can establish a mutually satisfactory bilateral agreement regardless of the alliance itself. That may even be a good place to start," he added, glancing at Welder. "I am sure that many aspects of our public entertainment and sports events and other recreation are very similar, though ours have relgious focus naturally. By the way: what sports are most popular here?"

"Yes, we should consider league recognition if it is possible for some of them," advised general Augrim. "It is good for the kids, as Councilor Landon alluded to earlier."

Carmen smiled at the Edomites and nodded approvingly at Geta before speaking,

"Good. A bilateral agreement would work."

She looked at Welder who gave a conceding nod. He sat back and did some pondering of his own. Carmen also glanced to the other council members who seemed pleased as well catching Councilman Thorton giving a subtle wink to Countess Nabal. She rolled her eyes at him and turned back to the Edomites, focusing back on Geta.

"Our national sport here is Beach Volleyball. But also do enjoy a vast amount of aquatic sports with swimming, water polo and surfing being very popular. Though on the Island of Ayr, given its mountainous terrain, sports like mountain biking, rock climbing and base jumping are more the trend."

Thorton, an avid base jumper himself was very much engaged in the mention of it.

"It is most exhilarating." He said. "You should definitely try it."

Countess Nabal's eyebrows went up a bit at the wink but she smiled a bit and studied her ipad.

"Base jumping?" exclaimed Geta. "You would never get me trying that! What a thing to do, to leap about like a flying squirrel! Eh General?"

General Augrim said, "I think it would be excellent training for our Airborne Program, and it certainly would require courage. I would like to try it, Mr. Thornton."

"I would too..." Mara began but saw the anxious looks from her staff. "Well, I would!"

"I wouldn't mind going too to try it at least once," said Prince Enoch thoughtfully. "Before the Queen does."

"Oh you..." she said.

"Well anyway, our national sports are football--soccer to some--basketball and rugby, but we do have volleyball teams at our schools and universities and an Olympic team," said Geta. "Swimming compeititons and tennis of course, and polo for our upper classes."

"Don't forget yacht racing" interjected Prince Enoch. "Though again, that is perhaps a rather high end recreation. I have a little ship myself, the Sea Star."

(I think it might be time to wrap this up. I'll make a few last remarks here and I'm sure the rest of the more technical matters can be sorted off screen. Thanks for the RP, I hope we may be RP again in the near future, maybe with that school competition or something.)

Thorton smiled before speaking, "Her majesty and those of her house and staff are welcome anytime on the Island of Ayr. I will even make time to teach you all myself."

Carmen looked up at the clock, several hours had now already passed and it was getting late. "Oh my goodness, is that time?" she exclaimed. "Your majesty, ladies and gentlemen, might I suggest we break for now and continue later? We have food and drinks being served in the next room. It has been an absolute privilege meeting with you all, I sincerely mean that. I speak for all of my fellow council members and our citizens in saying that we hope that this will be the beginning of a long lasting friendship. OOC: Thanks, good work on your part too.

IC:
Queen Mara graciously exchanged final good byes with the Nakadian officials of the Council, leaving Carmen for the last. "Your hospitality has been very kind, and we thank you all for your hard work. I bid you farewell, and if it is no offense, may God bless you all and your fellow countrymen as well."

With that, the high ranking persons prepared to leave. They would leave the fine tuning of the bilateral agreements on trade, education, tourism and defense to bureaucrats and agencies who would then report to the ministers and the Queen who would naturally take the credit.

One down, thought Queen Mara, More to go...
