Sumatra Timur contains a lot of historical background and very cultured nation with its diversity of ethnics. Malay as a major ethnic, followed by Javanese, Bataknese, Chinese, Tamil, Acehnese, and Padangnese. With its cultural background, Sumatra Timur offers such a spectacular view of nature; such as Bukit Lawang, Leuser National Park, Sipiso-piso Waterfall, Mount Sibayak, and many others.
Sumatra Timur is rich in natural resources; such as petroleum and natural gas. Some other mining products; i.e. iron, steel and copper. The mining industry in Sumatra Timur is not really developed because of our strict enviromental regulation that protect and preserve nature. And most of these area are governmental enterprise.
Sumatra Timur is well-known for its agricultural products; such as domesticated rice (Asahan Rice™,Delian Rice™, Langkat Rice™, Germinated Brown Rice™ and Serdang Rice™), vegetables (corn, potato, sweet potato, etc), and local fruits (rambutan, durian, manggosteen, banana, etc.). With scientific advancement, Sumatra Timur with its small area could produce many agricultural products and export it to many other countries around Tanah Melayu.
Sumatra Timur produces the best quality of livestock products; such as milk, egg, meat-based products (beef, lamb, and chicken). The other products is seafood, which is sold mostly at Deli Fish Market.

Modern architecture or modernist architecture is a term applied to a group of styles of architecture which emerged in the first half of the 20th century and became dominant after World War II. It was based upon new technologies of construction, particularly the use of glass, steel and reinforced concrete; and upon a rejection of the traditional neoclassical architecture and Beaux-Arts styles that were popular in the 19th century. Embassy Row at Jalan Sei Batang Hari
Embassy row at Jalan Sei Batang Hari is constructed only for Tanah Melayu's nations with its special treatment under Ministry of Interior and Safety of Sumatra Timur. This Embassy Row was built recently in 2015 and finished in 2017. Sumatra Timur will relocate all of the embassies in Tanah Melayu to this street.
