Do You Support the Russian Intervention In Syria

Postby New Zacharianasville » Sun Aug 21, 2016 10:25 pm

Hello Nation States, I made a simple poll just now about the Russian intervention in Syria, and what you think about it. I really like to know the opinion of the public on issues, so that is why I like making polls on here. If you see this please vote! Your vote does count! Have a nice day everyone!

Look, mate, you've got to provide your own somewhat detailed opinion in the OP. Y'know, to give everyone else a place to start the discussion.

You'd better believe I'm a bitter Bernie Sanders supporter. The Dems fucked up and fucked up hard. Hopefully they'll learn that neoliberalism and maintaining the status quo isn't the way to win this election or any other one. I doubt they will, though.

Ignoring the lousy, not-up-to-par OP...
I support no intervention in Syria. Outside intervention in the Middle East has caused damned near every problem in that region for the past 100 years and it's time the rest of the world tried something it hasn't tried before - butting the hell out.

The Middle East wasn't stable when it was isolated either. It's an inherently unstable part of the world, and it has been for millennia.

Absolutely. The Syrian government has kept the peace for years on it's own, then along comes the United States and arms some rebels and bam, look at the mess.

Unlike the U.S., Russia is actually working with the Syrian government, with it's permission to be there, rather than against it. The results are speaking for themselves.

Pretty much.

Scum like Daesh are enemies of the world.

But the propping up of Assad, and the general escalation of the conflict, I do not support.
"Our progress in degeneracy appears to me to be pretty rapid. As a nation, we began by declaring that "all men are created equal." We now practically read it "all men are created equal, except negroes" When the Know-Nothings get control, it will read "all men are created equal, except negroes, and foreigners, and Catholics." When it comes to this I should prefer emigrating to some country where they make no pretence of loving liberty -- to Russia, for instance, where despotism can be taken pure, and without the base alloy of hypocracy." - President Abraham Lincoln.

The Syrian government can invite however they want to intervene since this seems more a proxy war than a civil war.

While on Syria, the Syrian government just lost Hasakah in Kurdish Syria. 230 Syrian troops surrendered. So there is just one small area of Syrian troops in the eastern part of Kurdish Syria . This means the Kurds have almost consolidated one large area for themselves.

Yeah I check Live UA Maps every day. They have good info, but are incredible biased in favor of the rebels/opposition. I just have to suck it up and bear with it though.

I'd say it was pretty stable when under Hussein, Gaddafi, etc.

It'll be stable when it's isolated. Just like America is.
And you know what happens when a nation becomes stable?
