Introduction In the year 2022, virtual reality has progressed by leaps and bounds, and a massive online role-playing game called Sword Art Online (SAO) is launched. With the aid of "NerveGear" technology, players can control their avatars within the game using nothing but their own thoughts. After the release of the game, 10,000 players log in the scenic and elaborate world of Aincrad, one full of fantastic medieval weapons and gruesome monsters. However, in a cruel turn of events, the players soon realize they cannot log out; the game’s creator has trapped them in his new world until they complete all one hundred levels of the game. If you die in the game, you die in real life. There is no respawn. No restart. No pause. No other escape. To survive, players can do only one thing- advance and beat the game. Because what was at the beginning a fun and interesting game, had just turned into something worse than a death game. A true nightmare. Your character is among the 10,000 captives in this elaborate hell. Whether he was a beta tester who already knows his way around, a new player who was enthusiastic to play the game, or someone that just played the game by mistake, it doesn't matter. To survive, your character has to fight. But the mobs and NPC's aren't the only enemies.. enemies or friends, the other players are in this hell with you. Two whole years have passed since the beginning of the death game. Many have died. Few have survived. But as a small glimmer of light, hope has survived. The clearers, the players who actively fight on the Frontline, have reached the 90th Floor. 10 Floors stand between the players and freedom. Will they be able to clear them, and escape this death game once and for all? Right now, of all times, when chaos is spreading everywhere? Betrayal. Red guilds, and murders. Plots and intrigues. Secrets of the past. For too long have the players been tortured by this cruel game. Welcome, to the last floors of Sword Art Online.. Okay, so what is this? I'll try to explain this on short, jumping over dramatic things. The first true virtual reality game has been launched, a game where you control your character with your thoughts, using a device called the NerveGear. 10,000 players bought the game and logged in on its first day. A couple hours later, they realized that they can't log out. The creator trapped them inside. In order to escape, they have to beat all one hundred floors of the game. There is no other escape. If someone removes your NearGear in real life, it fries your brain, and you die. If you die in the game, same thing happens, you die. Two years have passed since then, and the players have reached the 90th Floor, meaning that they are 10 Floors away from freedom. The clearers, the high leveled players on the Frontline, are doing their best to advance. The red players, however, the murderers, realizing that if the game will end, they will have to face justice in reality, are doing their best to stop them and to slow them down. Where will your character stand in this conflict? Do you want this death game to end, or to never end? That's your choice. This roleplay will be loosely based on the Sword Art Online game from, you guessed, the Sword Art Online anime. The characters will be part of the 10,000 characters that were caught in the game, will play it, try to escape, take part in interesting plots, and do other MMORPG stuff. Does this require me to know the anime? Not necessarily. We had players who knew almost nothing about it. You just have to know what this game is about, and follow the rules. It seems like this is some sort of a reboot? What happened? Well, to put it shortly, we've been through a lot. We went inactive a couple of times. We had multiple threads, and this has practically been going on for more than a year. These would be the old threads: Original Thread Second Thread Third and longest thread Fourth thread Fifth and last thread First IC and the most chaotic Second IC Third and last IC And before you ask, no, you don't have to know what happened in the old threads. It doesn't matter that much. It's optional. Stuff happened, but nothing too important as to be known by all the players in the game. You can join now and roleplay happily. Alright, so I want to join. What do I do? Post in the thread. It's simple. We don't bite. Usually. Leaving jokes aside, anyone and everyone is free to join! You can check the Archive to see the other existing character and NPC apps, and then make an app for yourself using the format present in the OP. Being informed on how the whole Color system worked for guilds, I have to change why TLE is Orange....Perhaps they were to get in to a fight with another group, and most of the players ended up Orange, with any reds, knowing full well they were now a liability to the legion, either disappearing or willingly being jailed.

if i remember correctly, the game is designed so you should be able to beat the boss if your level is the floor number+10 (level 11 for floor 1, 100 for floor 90) so idk, seeing as the IC will start with the defeat of the floor 90 boss, maybe 100 or so

if i remember correctly, the game is designed so you should be able to beat the boss if your level is the floor number+10 (level 11 for floor 1, 100 for floor 90) so idk, seeing as the IC will start with the defeat of the floor 90 boss, maybe 100 or so

I believe that the first event should be boss fight on level 89, so that we can start with getting on level 90.

It would also be a good way for Heathcliff to show his true colors, or did you want him to have already done that?

Yeah, but the entire thing, with him revealing himself and fighting with Noblemind could happen as an event in the IC.

I like how Charlotte's and Lios's reactions would completely vary.
As in Charlotte would try to fight him, while Lios would simply thank him for the challenge and keep on farming for stuff.

Though, Lios's personality will have evolved, in the way that he may be a little bit... Well... Sad.
There'll be a high likeliness that a few people would've died and he would likely act as the commander in XCOM, paying respects to his fallen soldiers.
When he'll get out of the game, he'll likely pay his respects to the graves of the people he lost.

By floor 90, it's likely he'll have lost five people, maybe more, I'll choose depending on my mood.

yeah, my plan was to start the RP with them defeating the boss, and Heathcliff going "GG, WP, i am the bad guy, see ya all on floor 100, mkay?"
