Troaso visit to Livorino [Closed]

[Livorino]

The Crown prince leaned on the limo as he waited by the runway for the Troasan Secretary of State to arrive. He wore a black suit as usual, although today with a dark gray dress shirt and an aqua blue tie. A white hankercheif sat, neatly folded in his upper left coat pocket. His dark sunglasses blocked the oppressive sun and added to his impressive figure.

As he waited he thought to the Nicodeman visit. After mulling that over he turned to what was at hand, he luckily wouldn't need a translator as this one spoke English. While he was taking two security guards with him he wouldn't need them, Livorino was most likely one of the safest places on Earth, and even then the Livoran guards are most competent. While it seemed like a kind of insult it is justifiable.

He was pulled out of his thoughts by the sound of a Troasan Private jet coming in, he straightened himself up and made ready to receive this person.

[Troaso]

The Boeing VC-25 gently landed on the runway and slowed to a halt. The stairs lowered and a guard exited, following Calvin Harris, and another directly behind him guard. The guards wore black tuxedos and black ties and scanned the surrounding areas, while Calvin Harris wore a royal blue tuxedo with a matching tie. The guards were lightly armed with one FN Five-seven.
Calvin Harris greeted the Crown Prince with a friendly smile.

[Livorino]

The Crown Prince returned the smile, stepping forward shaking his hand and clasping the other on his shoulder, "Hello Mr. Harris. I am glad that your nation sent you, I'm looking forward to better relations between our two countries, as the proverb goes, making friends is harder than making enemies, but much more rewarding. How was your flight? Safe I hope."

He led him towards the limo while the two guards followed.

Calvin Harris returns the firm handshake.

"I am honored to be here in your lovely nation, as we were flying over I saw the beautiful landscape. Myself and President Stuckman are excited for this meeting and closer ties."

Calvin and his guards were led into the Limo, and seated.

[Livorino]

As they drove through the beautiful city, the Crown Prince leaned over towards the SoS, "Would you like a drink, we have champagne, wines, beers, and if those aren't your fancy a can of soda or two."

He leaned back, "So, what can you tell me about your nation?"

[Troaso]

"Champagne please."

Calvin took the glass gently and sipped it.

"Delicious. Our nation is large on medicine and surgery. We have a large company that supports quite a bit of jobs and is in the medical industry, supplying pharmaceuticals and supplies. Although the medical field is large in our country, we have quite a few other large industries"

Calvin looked out the window at the beautiful city.

"Tell me something about this city we're in? it's lovely."

[Livorino]

"I, and my fellow countrymen, thank you for such a compliment to our pride and joy." Spartico looked out the window, "Livorino was settled by my ancestors in the early 1800s. Jointly settled by France, and Italy, this city grew up with both influences. Thus you see the influence everywhere. But." He turned to Harris, "They found something amazing, statues and monuments, and they built around them, they didn't knock them down. These were statues from the old Keomoran and Atnaian empires. This island's history goes back much farther than you would imagine."

He took a sip of his drink, a champagne, "Now a days it's a huge tourist attraction, beautiful, with amazing cultural sites, a beautiful skyline, coupled with gorgeous beaches, awesome cuisine, and huge casinos. It is our pride and joy, any Livoran can tell you that. What would you say is the pride of your nation?"

[Troaso]

Calvin sipped his drink a bit and gazed out the window.

"Our cultural pride, definitely has to be the city of Beross," he said turning to the Crown Prince, "our revolution sparked within that city which led us to overthrow our predecessor and create our nation. Our economical, technological, and national pride is easily Trialas. Trialas is our capital and is blessed with many great achievements; Mellatin was founded there, our first congress meeting and establishing our nation was there, we have many great universities and embassies there, our best hospital in our nation and possibly region is located there, our government buildings are there, and our largest harbor is located there"

He sipped his drink and turned his head back to the window, casually swishing his drink in the glass.

[Livorino]

The Crown Prince laughed clasping his hand on Harris' shoulder, "That is good, your nation has two hearts, the proverb is two heads are better than one, but y'know, proverbs can change." He looked towards the window, "Anyways we are here." He pointed to the restaurant, "This is a beautiful Italian restaurant, I took the Nicodeman president here two nights ago. I have the back section all closed off, if your guards wish to remain at the door they can, although I think the cooks would prefer if they were to sit down and eat, as the saying goes, there is no greater insult to an Italian, than to come to their house and not eat their food."

He laughed, "Anyways, after you."

[Troaso]

Calvin laughed at the jokes and exited the car.

"My favorite, Italian!" the two guards followed close by. Calvin opened the door and was greeted with a lovely aroma and he awaited for the Crown Prince to enter.

[Livorino]

As the Crown Primce entered a waitress hurriedly ran up to them, taking them to the back room of the resturant. A couple camera snaps could be heard. As they were settling down the Crown Prince turned to Harris. "So, I believe we may as well talk before food comes. How would your nation feel about a diplomatic agreement between our two nations?"

[Troaso]

Calvin pulls out a chair and sits at one of the ends of the table. The wonderful Italian food aroma filling his nose and his mouth slightly salivating, as he hasn't ate since before his flight to Livorino. The guards sat at a different table away from the Crown Prince and Calvin. Calvin asked the waitress for a glass of water, which was delivered quickly with a small tower of ice cubes.

He sipped his water, clearing his throat and spoke, "I believe setting up a diplomatic agreement would be quite beneficial to both our nations and we are interested in doing so. We would like to set-up mutual Embassies, one in Livorino and one in Trialas, Troaso."

[Livorino]

The Crown Prince sipped the white wine he had asked for, "Yes, I believe embassies are a necessitity between two nations that look to establishing relations between each other." He looked at the menu a bit, "Now. Your nation probably relies a lot on the exports that it has to generate a large part of its economy. My nation imports a lot but we have relatively no exports. How would you feel about getting rid of all tariffs between our two nations. Now, I know that that only gives your nation benefits, but in return, I'd ask that your nation eliminates taxes on companies from my country advertising in your country. As you know, my nation is huge on tourism and this would stimulate both our economies better."

[Troaso]

Calvin's eyes glanced over the menu, a typical Italian restaurant by the looks, so he already had his menu planned.

He sipped his water, "I don't think it's possible for us to eliminate all our tariffs and advert taxes between us," he paused, thinking,"since you seem to think our economy relies heavily and solely on exports, which it has a large role in it, but we have a backbone to support it."

[Livorino]

Calvin's eyes glanced over the menu, a typical Italian restaurant by the looks, so he already had his menu planned.

He sipped his water, "I don't think it's possible for us to eliminate all our tariffs and advert taxes between us," he paused, thinking,"since you seem to think our economy relies heavily and solely on exports, which it has a large role in it, but we have a backbone to support it."

"Well many tries have already eliminated tariffs between our nations, thus your nation would be at a heavy disadvantage in our markets, of which would need lots of medical supplies. But alright. The taxes were only on one item you seemed to have misconstrued me there."

[Troaso]

Calvin Harris laughed.

"You must think I mean continuing taxes on your imports," he laughed again, "we don't simply let companies in our country go off the hook without paying our Foreign Trade Tax." Calvin waited, wondering what was taking the waitress so long.

"From the start, advertising won't get you much attention in our economy, especially since we have closer nations with nice sight-seeing"

[Livorino]

Calvin Harris laughed.

"You must think I mean continuing taxes on your imports," he laughed again, "we don't simply let companies in our country go off the hook without paying our Foreign Trade Tax." Calvin waited, wondering what was taking the waitress so long.

"From the start, advertising won't get you much attention in our economy, especially since we have closer nations with nice sight-seeing"

"We don't have imports to go to your country. Anyways, you think so? See we're close and have quite affordable vacations. Let's see, you have Cottoria, a communist nation that is at war. Polar Svalbard a nation not overly re known for its tourism, some odd Norse country below you, don't believe that's getting you anywhere, Vioraux a nation which probably looks down upon your citizens as they took being French a bit too seriously, Domanania a nation so focused on war and converting heathens like us that your citizens are better off not going there, and some other tossed who are all at war with each other right now. No, I would bet good money people from your nation would quite enjoy it here, a nation so focused on making them feel like they got all their money's worth. Funnily enough 4 million people come here every year just for getting married and honeymoons. People just looking for vacation is whole other thing. But you have already said what you will say so let's move on to other things."

The waitress came then to take their orders.

[Troaso]

Calvin is taken aback from your hostility in your tone.

"No, let's not move on, let's take a set back. Our, as you so delicately put it, 'odd Norse neighbor' has beautiful landscape and they are very close neighbor. Also, we don't take kindly to being pressured into some diplomatic agreement who's nation seems to think that they're the only nation providing sites that our people would like and they so desperately need. As I remember correctly, you were the one to reach out to us for this meeting. Now we can move on."

He told the waitress he'd like fettuccine Alfredo and a glass off red wine.

[Livorino]

"I wasn't being hostile, I was having a problem with you relegating our nation to nothingness, it was rather insulting, of which your nation has already insulted me multiple times. I'm sorry I'm a little agitated but I don't like being insulted. When I invited the Nicodeman president they didn't try to insult me, we had a rather good time, and I had hoped for that with you. I hope that we can still have that, I'd rather not be agitated and I know you probably don't like that, I'm sorry about that."

[Troaso]

Calvin let's the Crown Prince's worlds brew in his head.

"You must be thinking that the foreign trade tax applies to you, since you have no imports to offer, it doesn't. It only applies to Troaso's exports. I'm not trying to insult you, Crown Prince, I am just being very abrupt and blunt, sure some inimicality bled into it, but that was in retaliation of your rather rude statements. Anyways, let us continue onto more important things rather this petty argument"
