What kind of WW1 tank would your nation's military use?

Postby Northern Ateria » Thu Jul 21, 2016 10:42 pm

What kind of battle tank, from the First World War, did your nation's army once used to serve in your army during the Industrial Age of your nation?

Despite health problems and engine problems happening to both tank crew and the tanks themselves.

Imagine you're playing Pokemon Go, right...and you're wandering around going to Pokestop to Pokestop and you see something and you're like, "ooo, a gym!" and you go there all ready to fight for team red and shit and you look up and you're in like a real life Rocky I style gym and there's a bunch of dudes all wearing blue and staring at you suddenly?

That's you now.

During WW1, or in my history the Continental War, we used the Mark 1 tanks, then replaced them with the T-34 in 1920. Since WW1 and WW2 were combined to form the Continental War, I ended up getting better tanks earlier than real life.

The Model 1 "Legionnaire"

This was the first genuinely Gamindustrian tank (though the Gamindustrian Union would not exist until after 122 years.) It was made in Planeptune on 1890. Though it looks like a World War 1 tank, it actually predates World War 1.

When World War 1 broke out, these were the tanks in service with the following nations (note that Gamindustrian nations never fought during World War 1. They resemble World War 2 tanks, but because Gamindustrian technology, Planeptunian in particular, is way advanced for the era.

None. Zambaxi first took delivery of tanks in 1976, when the Soviets as well as other Eastern Bloc countries provided us with T-34-85s and T-55 tanks.

Northern Ateria: you may want to rewrite your opening post and amend the title as at the moment they both ask different things and it's not clear what you are actually looking for. Are you asking what ww1 tanks nations currently have, which for modern tech and later era nations means what do they have preserved in thier museums or are you asking what tanks nations actually used in ww1, if indeed they were involved or acknowledge RL conflicts.

To answer both questions:
Crookfur is very lucky to have what must be one of the few if not the only surviving medium mark C Hornet currently residing in the Connel Tank museum. Whilst "Jenny" never actually saw combat in ww1 it is rumored that she was one of tanks deployed on public order duties in Glasgow.

Crookfur's initial tank fleet consisted of 12 Hornets purchased in the early 1920s with initial domestic designs being largely based off them.

As such Crookfur had no tanks in service during its ww1 era conflicts (notably the great southern war that saw the final conquest of Covenant Isle) how ever armoured cars, armoured traction engines and catapillar tractors were all used.

Just what 'if' your nation's military once had tanks in the past 100 years that were cumbersome, metal boxes with 2 to 6 guns protruding from all sides.

Instead of high tech, futuristic killing machines. What about industrial, primitive tank designs of what mechanized war machines used to be like coming from 100 years ago.

If you want to know what tanks we used in WW1:

Tulais utilized the French Renault FT during the 1917-1918 periods of the war. Being that we were a secondary participant, our priority of allied shipments were low and by the end of the war, we only had an 170 active FT-17s in the war.

If you're asking if we still have WW1 tanks:

Yes. The Tulesian government back then unfortunately destroyed or removed most of their FT-17s from service and didn't maintain the ones that survived the war. This was due to the militarization of the world following the war, which resulted in us having to constantly improve new designs and abandon outdated equipment and arms. However, a few FT-17s did survive service and were maintained by veteran interest groups, now residing in our prestigious museums as part of the end of our imperialist history.

The Takeapenny Arsenal did test some WW1-era tank technology that was "borrowed" from various sources. However, tanks were not considered suitable for Fatatatutian terrain until they became much more maneuverable. The Tank Corps was not established until the 1930s.

We used an updated form of this as our main battle tank until 2012 AD...
It is still our choice when we need light tanks. They run more efficiently and have much greater armor, but they still are still the same fundamental design.

In 1933 AD, the TS Fascist Servants acquired the blueprints and models from a goodwill ambassdor of the Germans in order to finall give us a mechanized infantry worth writing home about. The fact that they had given TS a WWI tank didn't matter. We made great use of it and even upgraded its armor and firepower

It wasn't until we managed to acquire top Tsao Empire military researchers (basically our Operation Paperclip) that we finally got a full upgrade. We now use the Tsao-class Emperor Tank as our main battle tank, to great effect.

the first carriebean tank was the Ren vaar mark I armored vehicle,
in early May of 1919, the carriebeanian government ordered ten Renault FTs from France, in mid June, after negotiation from the former victorious powers of WWI, the first 3 were delivered to study. the carriebeanians then experimented with various designs in armor while not mass producing any until 1924, when the Ren-Hia class tank's design had been approved by congress " to be in production and use as quickly as possible."
the tank preformed initially very poorly, with a test run in muddy terrain leading to one of the two prototypes getting stuck in the mud and having to be pulled out. after several more months of testing and improvising, the factories in the southern cities began to produce the Ren-Hia class tank according to the specifications.
Unit cost: 500,400 Sais
Produced :409
production era: 1920-1923
Weight7.5 tonnes
Armor.2 inches to .275 inches
Main: 37mm M1916 in barbette and 75mm french fixed cannon in front.
Secondary: .30 cal and .22 cal machine guns
Engine:Cunningham V8
105 hp
Speed: 20 mph
crew:6

unsatisfied with the low production of these tanks, the Ministry of Armament at the time, Joan Gillings suspended production on the Ren-Hia and began the production on other designs of tanks which he saw as better alternatives.

Our Military once used the German AV7 we borrowed the design from them during the first world war. do to budget limitations they had three machine guns instead of six. they proved effective against the Australian and Indian armies who were not well equipped to handle tanks. They were called out of retirement 30 years latter to smash the Kautuza uprising in the south while most of our modern machines were off fighting the Anglo americans in India and Australia. currently three are still intact at the Museum dedicated to the Imperial armored corp.

During Japonia's period of military modernisation, the Renault FT-17 was selected as the main tank of the armed forces. A version known as the FT-Ko saw service for a time before finally being phased out in favour of more modern tank designs of that time period.

Because the Bahtari Emirate were a protectorate of the German Empire, in World War 1, The Islamic Emirate of Bahtar purchased and used 10 A7Vs with German-trained crews.

The Islamic Emirate of Bahtar was a member of the Axis during World War 1, but the Islamic Emirate of Bahtar initially were able to defend it's land. 2 A7V tanks were destroyed in the skirmishes between Bahtari and British troops in Yemen, while the remaining remained in service up until World War 2.
